Who:Sanura [Narrative]
When Early Morning
Where: Medical Pavilion
What: Waking up

She was dead. The sad part of it all was that there was nothing but darkness. Her fear had come true that once you bit the dust all there was left was sadness in a dark place. No white lights, no permission to enter heaven or hell. Shame, she was convinced she was decent enough to land herself in whatever heaven that existed. Was that conceited? Was that wrong? Great. She was stuck with her thoughts so clearly she was in hell. The worst thing she had done was kick her brother off a fifteen foot tree. Adio almost broke his legs.

Sanura wasn't a very spiritual person. But now she was praying for the strength to dive towards the pin hole of light she swear she saw in the distance. She felt like she was swimming, legs kicking hard and fast towards the ray of light that only grew bigger and bigger. Just when she was about to touch the light..

The Therianthrope woke with a loud gasp and her eyes shot open. The light was intrusive and it stung to the core. Her body felt cold, sore and everything and anything but dead.

She didn't think what happened to her was real. But not only could she see sudden bits and pieces of what happened, her body and soul began to recall it. Not to mention she was in the Medical Pavilion.

While she felt her beaten body and messy hair she sobbed silently. It was an odd sort of sobbing. Yes she was sad and frightened. But she was ashamed. Instead of being glad that she was alive.

She just wanted to get revenge.

[info]splitimpulse
Who: Hayate & Sanura
When: Late Evening/Night
Where: The outskirts of town, and then to a shack in the woods.
What: Hayate is not a happy camper.
WARNING(S): Physical and psychological torture, which may not be suitable or stomach-able for some. There will be blood!

Hayate’s nerves were on edge. They had been on edge for weeks. The cigarette twitched in his hand as he brought it to his lips and sucked in the smoke. The vampire never smoked because of the nicotine or the calming effect it sometimes had on humans. In fact, tobacco was too weak to have any sort of effect on him or any other vampire. Newly turned ones might have still done it out of habit, but Hayate never knew cigarettes in his time as a human and therefore could not recall any memories of its effects to use it as a placebo. He only knew the effects of opium, and there was no opium in Elysium that he knew of. He would not touch it even if it existed here.

He did it to occupy his hands, to give them something to do. Even that feeling did not last long, and he threw the rolled up paper to the ground, crushing it beneath his boot on the wet grass. The burning tip extinguished quickly, little trails of smoke trying to reach up from the ground before vanishing into the cold, damp air. The rain from this morning still lingered across the land, and Hayate could smell it as if it had fallen only minutes ago.

Pulling his coat around himself, he scowled at the darkening sky and took off towards the forest’s border. The trees were tall and ominous here, looming over the edge of the land like sentinels of nature. There was nothing frightening about the forest to Hayate, though. The animals had better reason to fear him, for the vampire knew how to hunt them down and kill them with only a knife in his hand or less. He had the learned reflexes of hunting from years and years of stalking animals when he could not get human prey. Plenty of animals in Elysium were slaughtered in the forest by his hands alone, even the large felines of the mountains.

Hayate growled in the back of his throat, livid with the thoughts of murder inside of his head, and ran headlong for a tree. His feet touched the base, and he kicked up, leaping high enough to catch a low branch and swing his body up into the sturdy branches. Immediately, his finely tuned eyes were scanning the lower grounds for movement, his stillness going unnoticed by any passersby.

Though he knew the one who poisoned him, he wanted to exact punishment on whoever he could just because he was capable of it. Hayate did not care who he hurt at this point, as long as he got his revenge in one way or another.

Who: Adam and Sanura
When: Early Afternoon
Where: The stables and Silmé Lagoon.
What: Pegasus riding to the lagoon, where they act like children and splash around in the water. ;P

Spending some time with Theora helped to enliven Adam's spirits once more, and today he was the picturesque face of happiness as he led one of the pegasi from the stables. He petted the pegasus's mane, brushing his hand over the coarse hair and grinning at the animal. "Let's go for a flight today," Adam mused out loud as he walked. "I bet you never get to fly as much as you want. You and me can take to the skies and soar high above Elysium!"

Riding pegasi always held more dangers to it than riding a normal horse, as there wasn't anything holding you down onto the animal. If it swerved too much only once, it would easy to fall off and go tumbling towards the ground. Pegasi were loyal and careful creatures, though, and knew how to protect their riders best. Accidents were minimal if they ever happened, and they normally only happened in times of war if the pegasus was stolen and mistreated by its new owners. Adam had read that up somewhere in the library.

He came to a halt in the middle of the fenced in area, his hand holding the side of the pegasus's neck. There were no straps on the animal. Adam didn't need them, and he knew the animal wouldn't like them. As he gazed outward, his eyes caught sight of a familiar face. Adam's face burst into a grin, and he released the pegasus to rush towards the edge of the fence.

“Sanura!” Adam called, waving his hand frantically. )

[info]nosuchthings
Who: Everyone (who isn’t already in a thread during this time)
When: 2 to 5 PM
Where: All over Helicharis
What: The harpy attack!

The harpies had been planning.

By most standards and definitions those particular praeternatural creatures were not intelligent. They had no real form of speech or civilization to speak of; however, they were capable of plotting vengeance. They wanted revenge against the interloper that had stolen into their nesting area in the middle of the night, the one who had burned some of their children and killed a few of their females. They knew not who the attacker was exactly, only that they had seen him retreating toward the village. That was enough for them.

A small fraction of the flock had gathered to attack the humans and other praeternaturals in Helicharis. They had no ‘real’ plan other than to wreak havoc, but at least it was something they were skilled in. Their shrill, ear-piercing cries, sharp claws, and razor sharp teeth were enough to cause a few injuries, and to scare the citizens into a frenzy.

The grotesque creatures set out from their nest, flying rapidly toward Helicharis and the unsuspecting citizens. Their numbers created a veritable black cloud in the sky, the flapping of their wings brought forth an ominous sound that seemed to resonate throughout the valley. Once they neared Helicharis the lead harpy let out a high-pitched shriek that could be likened to a banshee. It was the only warning the people would get before the swarm descended upon them.

Unnatural as they were, the harpies were masterful fliers; their maneuverability in the air unmatched by even the most graceful birds of prey. Ungainly and sometimes clumsy on the ground, the harpies preferred to stay in the air as they attacked the people with careful swoops and well-placed claws. Their attack was only made worse by the rain that refused to stop falling.

[info]turnskin
Who: Jamile, Adio and Sanura
When: Evening
Where: Towards then at Adurile Cottage
What: Reunion!

“Okay thank you!” Jamile waved at a civilian who directed her further down the road heading further towards the cottages that seemed to be neatly placed around Helicharis. Elysium was going to be a surreal experience for her. Though she felt frozen when she first arrived, the temperatures near alien, the friendly people and the hope that she would see her siblings warmed her up. She described them in vivid detail along with the pictures she had of them which were somewhat old. When she heard people recall the female especially she almost felt tears stain her eyes. But she had gotten her hopes up before.

If her siblings were indeed here, they were lucky. Her haven in Africa was small and could never ensure this much safety to so many people. They had a Market, even a restaurant with an aroma so good leaking into her nostrils she sometimes wanted to turn back since she hadn’t eaten in sometime.

When the Therianthrope spotted another civilian she dropped her light set of baggage and took out a picture. “Excuse me. Have you seen these two by any chance?” If not, she heard there was a vacant cottage nearby.

But when she heard the civilian confirm the two were residing nearby, she eagerly asked them to point out where the two were before she ran in the houses direction. The minute she spotted the cottages exterior designs by the windows, she knew it was Sanura’s doing.

Though she would have simply just busted down the doors, she stood at the doorway for a moment, smoothing out her wrinkled shirt before she knocked on the door. She wouldn’t be the one to cry first.

[info]headcouncil
WHO: Open to anyone who wants to attend.
WHEN: Just after sunset.
WHERE: Northern Forest, near Van'taurë Lake.
WHAT: Faye and Kaiya's funeral.

Funerals in the most common fae tradition involved simple pyres to burn the bodies of the dead. It was an old tradition used to hide the bodies of the deceased, even in death, from the eyes of prying outsiders. Humans became known for ruining sacred ground by building their cities upon them or digging up the dead and, especially as time worn on, cremation became commonplace for most fae communities in the last few centuries. At Faye and Kaiya’s funeral, two elaborate pyres had been constructed in their honor near Van'taurë Lake.

The funeral began as a march. All those who attended walked a path from the edge of the forest to the location of the pyres by the lake. The journey to death had to be taken by all, and the crowd walked together with the people carrying the bodies of the deceased upon wooden carriers.

The colors of death were draped over their bodies. White was the color of death. Each woman wore a white dress, a white sheet draped over the lower half of their bodies, and white veils placed over their faces. Each of them held a bouquet of white sweet pea flowers in their hands. White poppy petals littered their dresses and the sheets over them.

When the march finally ended, they arrived at the pyres and stood at attention close to the lake. There were no seats. Faye and Kaiya were taken to their respective pyres and carried up to the top of the complicated structures. There, they were placed, and those who took them up the pyres returned to the ground. A song was sung by a choir of faes as the pyres were lit. All that could be done was to watch the fires rise up the pyres as attendees paid their respects by aiding the deceased into the afterlife with their presence.

Who: Sanura and Adio
When: Night
Where: Adura Cottage
What: Brother-Sister time

Sanura had to admit that she was a person who liked to observe the other people at The Town Hall meetings. She wanted to see who was bored, who was paying attention and maybe see who didn’t attend. She talked to many of the citizens, so she thought that maybe she would know if anyone wasn’t there. But she was taken so off guard when she learned that Kaiya and Faye had been murdered. Wasn’t this place supposed to be safe? The moment she arrived in Elysium she felt a rush of calamity come over her because she felt like no harm would come to her. Now she felt like she should sleep with some sort of weapon or that she should be careful with whom she spoke to.

She wanted to see her brother )

The sounds of happy parade goers filled the evening air as the citizens of Elysium marched from the town toward the festival near the Ancient Elven Tree. Many of the citizens were dressed in costume, and it was obvious that they had been looking forward to the All Hallow's Eve event. The lively music, provided by the fauns, set the overall tone of the parade. Many of the citizens were singing along to the music, while others whooped and cheered. Their path toward the Ancient Elven Tree was lighted by magical sparklers that never lost their energy, and some citizens even had hand-held sparklers that they waved around happily. Sorcerers enchanted objects to light up the sky like fireworks, while small fairies fluttered around the citizens like fireflies.

Onto the festivities! )

Who: Sanura and Warren
When: Late Afternoon
Where: Marketplace
What: A bump in leads to a future date

Being on the clumsy side was one thing, but being clumsy and having a severe cold was a disastrous thing not meant for the Sweets Shop. On the plus side, there weren’t that many customers this day. On the downside, Sanura had nearly knocked down everything in sight. It was highly amusing to watch her try and pick things up with her sleeves instead of her hands. She wouldn’t want to be the culprit in getting everyone who came into the shop sick.

The therianthrope didn’t want to stay home though resting seemed to be the obvious wise choice. She (for some stupid reason) believed that resting only made her give into the cold and she would get worse. She just drank a ridiculous amount of tea and honey and trekked in the cold in a scarf and three layers of clothes. She figured the faster she walked, the warmer she would be.

But finally when late afternoon arrived, Sanura gave into her fatigue and her sneezes that were so strong she nearly jumped five feet into the air. When she snuck a glimpse into a mirror, she saw that she looked like Rudolph the red nose reindeer’s close relative and her whole appearance looked as if she hadn’t showered in a week’s time. “If I got this from Adio, he’s dead.” She declared with a sigh, her voice sounding as if she was wearing a nose plug.

Saying goodbye to a fellow worker, she left the shop with her arms crossed and her head towards the ground to hide the embarrassment of her reddening face sometimes peeking out from her scarf )

Who: Sanura, Adio and OPEN
When: Afternoon
Where: The Sweets Shop
What: Random talking and a visitor comes in.

“Adio?” Sanura began, walking from one side of the shop to the other. “What are you going to be for Halloween?” She asked with heavy curiosity. She kicked the chair he was in telling him it was his cue to set some sweets on a shelf she could not reach. In the meantime she of course was going to share what she was going to be.

“I was thinking of perhaps being some sort of princess. What do you think? I saw a dress at the tailors that was simply amazing.” It was the only time of the year she could get drunk and be in a period piece and it would be considered a normal thing.

Adio turned towards her while he was setting the bag of sweets on the shelf. “Is there a costume for a drama queen? I’m thinking that fits better.” He gave her a cozy little smile before he seated himself once again. “As for me, I never gave it any thought. It’s just Halloween. It’s not something I think about night and day or lose sleep over.”

Sanura rolled her eyes and seated herself across from him. “Be a jackass.” Of course she meant that with all the love in her heart. “Just prevent yourself from being really boring.” When her brother reached for some chocolates, she slapped his hand and rose to her feet. Sanura was pretty sure she heard someone enter the shop. “Touch something and die.” She warned with an arched brow then went to scout who was inside.

[info]etaequitas
Who: Max & Sanura
When: Late Night
Where: Sanura and Adio's Cottage
What: A thief on a hot tin roof . . . gets caught.

Max’s first two days here were as weird as shit falling out of the sky from a monkey’s ass. One day, life was perfectly normal and everything made sense. Right up until some master virus decided to rear its head and wipe out humanity with one fell swoop. If that wasn’t all, a world war was waged over it. Max made it through his days by hiding out in a remote cabin in Italy while he was on a vacation in Europe. Honestly, this wasn’t how he expected it to end — washed up on a shore in a weird fucking place like this. How did this place even exist?

Today, he was living in a fantasy world à la video games of World of Warcraft or some sort of The Lord of the Rings book. The only way to feel like he was normal again and alive in some sensible meaning of the word was to do what he was used to doing. That included sneaking around in the middle of the night, his extra-sensitive eyes picking up everything in his surroundings. He was dressed completely in black, even had a cap pulled over his head. Max was looked for a place to break into — not because he wanted to steal anything, but because it was the only way for him to feel like he was really alive right now and actually living this freak of nature existence. Also, to feel normal again. Like he was ever normal in the first place.

His eyes settled on one house in particular. It looked homey. Everyone appeared to be asleep. There were no lights on inside. Glancing around outside, Max made sure no one was around and watching him. Once he saw that the coast was clear, Max made a run for it and reached the house.

He liked a challenge, so the first thing he did for no special reason was to climb up the side of the house. Max used the windows and the interesting little nooks on the structure to make his way up, trying to be as quiet as possible. He could have gone straight for a window, but instead Max wanted to sneak his way onto the roof. His hand slipped, but he snagged a fixture on the window protruding from the roof and pulled himself up. Shoes scraped against the side of the cottage as he climbed upward, and finally, Max settled himself atop the window on the roof. With a leg on either side of the protruding window structure, Max sat atop the house and gazed outward at the landscape.

The air smelled fresher up here, and he liked that.

Who: Sanura and Zosimus
When: Late Afternoon
Where: Helicharis
What: Meeting someone on the way home

Sanura looked back at the stables before she began to walk further away from the location, a brief smile approaching her lips. She missed short rides with the horses, the black stallion was especially her favorite and it reminded her of the rather memorable time Adrienne and she had spent together. No unicorn this time sadly, but on the plus side there were no gnomes either. She got to see a Pegasi which was somewhat close to as wondrous as a unicorn.

She hugged her arms close to herself, figuring she could maybe go to the town and fetch herself some food from the Fresh Food Pavilion and dare herself to cook something. She knew she could do it, she knew it just was a matter of time before she broke away from being too lazy to cook.

The Therianthrope walked silently for awhile then paused when she saw what seemed to be a horse..just a smaller one. But when she moved closer it appeared to be a centaur. She had never seen one before. It was a rather young one, an adorable young boy and she smirked. “Are you lost?” She chuckled a bit. “You're inheriting a trait of mine.”

Who: Adair and Sanura [putting the paddles on the muses, oh yeah]
When: Late Night
Where: Adair/Sheldon/Caden residence
What: Sometimes, people just meet

“Ugh, winter is going to suck here I can tell.” Adair mumbled. He leaned in his doorway not particularly favoring the current weather conditions since all he had to warm him up was a cigarette and a lighter he kept playing with. He could have gone inside, but oddly enough he wasn’t like Sheldon and didn’t litter the house with a shitload of smoke. Sometimes it was hard having two roommates, but they were his best friends.

One of the things he hated was smoking his cigarettes until he could feel his fingers sting but no matter how many times he tried to break the habbit, he failed. Putting out his cigarette after one final drag, he went inside. It wasn’t long after when he heard a feverish amount of knocking. Shit that was quick. “Dude. I don’t have a lock. Just come on in.” Rolling his eyes at the person’s stupidity he repeated the obvious words of invitation. “The doors open.” Maybe one of his roomies were drunk again.

Who: Sanura and Adrienne!!!
Where: Silmé Lagoon (hope this is okay!)
When: Afternoon
What: Two awesome chicks finally meet up again!

Near eighty degrees was more than enough to get Sanura back to Silmé Lagoon where she usually would go for her swims. There she was swimming until she could feel the pressure in her limbs, telling her she should probably cool it for a bit. But she just kept pushing herself until the water felt like it was boiling and her legs stung like little bees were stinging them. She didn’t know why she tried so hard, maybe she just secretly thought she needed the exercise. Or maybe it was the adrenaline high from a few nights ago. It was such a rewarding feeling when you felt strong, big and bad. Of course that was only when she was in stripes, figuratively speaking.

With a long breath she dunked her head underwater, craving some cooler air to soothe herself. A few seconds later she surfaced and swam towards a nearby ledge. As always she just let the warm breeze and the sun dry her off. But she was curious as to why no one else was out. It was a good time to enjoy whatever was going to be left of the season. God, she was going to dread the cold weather. She could tolerate cooler water, but ice water was going too far.

Figuring she would be spending her moments of drying off alone, she lay back and closed her eyes.

Who: Alicia, her Attacker, and Sanura!
When: Same time as the Autumn Festival.
Where: Northern Forest
What: Alicia gets lost in the forest while following a faun and runs into trouble.

OOC Note: The attacker's comments will be written by one of the mods to ensure their anonymity! However, the attacker's player will be telling the mods what to write for the scene to keep the actions in character.

Alicia walked through the forest with careful steps. Gosh, it was dark out here! She knew everyone else was having fun at the festival, but she had followed one of the fauns out here to see where the fauns lived. The girl told her most of them lived further out in the forest in cottages built by themselves much like their ones back home. A number of them lived in the forest cottages as well, but Alicia wanted to see the faun community out in the Northern Forest. So, the faun promised to take her to it . . . and here she was lost in the middle of the forest because of it.

A glimmer in the forest floor had arrested her attention, which was the reason for Alicia being lost. She had veered off path to discover what the glimmer was, only to discover it was nothing more than a stream. Frowning, Alicia hurried back up to the path to find the faun, but the faun was nowhere to be found. "Hello?" Alicia had called out the faun's name, but the girl didn't answer her. Placing her hands on her hips, Alicia let out a sigh. Great. Now, she was lost.

Turning herself around, she headed back the way she came. Alicia figured she could find her way back easily enough, and wandering further out into the forest at this late hour wasn't a bright idea. Especially when she didn't know where she was going.

OOC: Everyone is welcome to join the party! Start a new sub-thread to interact with others, or keep an eye out for open sub-threads for you to join! Or if you don't feel like interacting, type up a narrative for your character.

The sun's rays shining out from below the horizon signaled the start of the wedding reception to celebrate Zane and Amada's happy nuptials. The area around Loki's Tiki Hut was set up with festive tiki torches that illuminated the entire area all the way down to the rim of the lake. Each lamp was entwined in green vines and white flowers, and the sand here was also 'planted' with green grass to add to the tropical theme. The tables were decorated with floating candle and flower centerpieces and around each centerpiece were several glass blown wedding favors in the shape of sail boats. Each table also had small boxes of clamshell shaped chocolate for everyone to enjoy.

Soft music lingered in the air and though the night sky was filled with stars some of the fae-folk had enticed lightning bugs to come out and provide romantic lighting above the tables and dance floor. Dinner for the guests was set up buffet style with a variety of foods provided by the restaurant in town. Drinks — alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike — were provided by Loki and his Tiki Hut served as the bar. The ever enchanting Faye Capricia had agreed to the last minute request of providing live singing entertainment for the reception. The dance floor was nothing but the soft sand beneath their feet and, as much as it may have dismayed the bride, even the lake monsters joined in on the festivities as they sang their song and splashed around in the water.

All in all it was a beautiful reception with a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy, and it was the perfect way to spend the evening in the company of friends or with a special someone.

Who: Open to All [especially Sanura Hart and Vienna Kwon]
When: Morning
Where: Outside Sanura's cottage and outside of Vienna's cottage
What: It's raining dead animals...

The night was long and quiet, and the morning was greeted with the soft sprinkling of rain from the heavens above. A cool, and crisp start to the morning; the kind of start that refreshed the spirits and awakened the senses. Rain - clean and baptismal, washed away the sins of the night leaving nothing behind except fresh dew drops and unsullied scents. It fell upon windows softly, tapping against the glass with gentleness.

Pitter patter, pitter patter . . .

An unspoken invitation to enjoy the outdoors while it is born anew and unfettered. An invitation for one to open his or her eyes and see what the morning held, what the new sun brought with its dew-dropped rays. Underneath the dawning of a new day and its cleansing raindrops, of course, there could be nothing but a fiery rose-colored sunrise to behold and the promise of another beautiful day born from its quenched ashes. It was another day to meet with friends and family, another day to enjoy the splendor of living like every other day before it.

Yet, the smell of death traveled on the air. Newly rotting flesh of fresh corpses, but corpses of what? It was hard to say, the smell could not be fully sensed. For those close to it, it was all too familiar and real, though, and the day did not bring such nice tidings for them . . .

OOC note: There will be sub-threads for each character's house. The character is urged to reply, but it is also open for anyone who happens to be passing by or anyone who wants their character to get in on the fun! Remember though, the cottages are not near one another so the two sub-threads will not overlap. Please reply to the appropriate sub-thread ^^

[info]cateyes
Who: Sanura and Faye
When: Late night
Where: The beach
What: Pissed! Sanura takes a stomp stroll on the beach

Sanura's toes sunk heavily in the sand with every stomp she delivered to the grains. She was upset. No, not upset. Pissed. No, not pissed. Angry. It was the kind of mood where she needed the late night breeze and the rolling of the tides to ease her fuming mind. The smell of the sea water and the need to keep her mind focused on walking would draw her mind away with her fight with her wanker of a brother. Of course, she would regret her somewhat hateful thoughts of him later. But for now all she wanted was to never see his face or to hear his voice again.

He seemed a little insensitive about the anniversary of their fathers death. Perhaps she just was oversensitive. Sanura maybe needed to move forward with the death, needed to respect the fact that since Adio was the only one here their father was taken in a different light. But her brother seemed to be lacking the mourning he used to.

Her hand that grasped her shoes could barely keep hold of them she was shaking so badly. Maybe she was cold, maybe she was a tad bit more upset now that she defied the nature of trying not to think about the argument.

"Stupid..idiot." Of course now she didn't know if she was talking about Adio or herself. Sanura needed to get her anger out. So, she did what typical girls do in movies when they are mad. She threw something. Well, two of something. She tossed two of her shoes randomly. Right now, she didn't give a damn where they landed.
