Who: Mitsuko and Logan (Narrative)
When: Night
Where: Kamiyama-Nagamori-Jung cottage
What: Mama-Mitsuko is NOT happy

Mitsuko had left Midori's at dawn and spent the rest of the day continuing her search for Adrienne. Her leg hurt from where it had been mauled by the todd. She hadn't given it proper time to heal before running on it once again.

She hadn't found Adrienne. As much as she wanted to continue looking for her friend, she knew she couldn't leave Logan and the twins for another night. She'd already been gone nearly two.

When she arrived home, she was greeted by a very enthusiastic hug from her brother. Logan wasn't normally extremely affectionate, but his worry for his sister outweighed any discomfort he had. Mitsuko gave Logan a pat on the head in response before limping towards the stairs.

"What happened?" Logan asked softly, noticing the injury affecting her movements.

"Just a fox," Mitsuko replied. "It's not bad. Just stings a bit."

Are the twins asleep? )

[info]dreammaster
Who: Logan, Chris and Charlie
When: Afternoon
Where: Their cottage
What: Fending for themselves while Mitsuko is away

Logan was up in his room studying. While he had not begun his lessons with Sascha yet, he had been given several books to read in preparation.

This was easier said than done, at least at the moment. Logan was preoccupied. He knew about the escape of Dante Donovan. About how he'd taken two girls-- Adrienne, Mitsuko seemed to believe. Then Mitsuko had gone out to find her friend.

Dante had been the one who killed Kaiya. That was what the rumour was. For months, he'd thought it'd been Hayate, but now... And he had Adrienne. Mitsuko and Zach were out trying to find her.

Logan had wanted to go with. He wanted to help. Wanted to make sure his friends were okay. Mitsuko refused to let him go. Said he had to stay at home. That she would get into trouble by the Council if she let him come and they could take him, Chris and Charlie away.

Logan felt he was an adult. He was very nearly eighteen. But the idea that Charlie and Chris could be taken away stopped him. Now that they were there, he didn't want them leaving.

After nearly an hour of pretending to read the book in his hands, Logan tossed it aside. He went down the two flights of stairs to the living room, to see if there was any news. Maybe Mitsuko had returned while he was trying to study. The person he found in the living room was very blonde and definitely not his sister.

Logan sighed deeply. "Mitsuko hasn't come back," He ruffled his hair with his hand. "Maybe they found Adrienne and she went to Irei's. She does do that sometimes." He'd not talked to Charlie and Chris about Mitsuko's relationship with the necromancer, but they surely knew she hadn't spent every night at their cottage since they'd moved in.

[info]coalintodiamond
Who: Zach and Logan
When: Mid-day
Where: The Alchemy Labs
What: Zach works on something very special for Dante.

Alchemy was a very precise science, and Zach concentrated hard on the vial in his hands as he poured just the right amount of mixture to the proper line indicated in the book. The heat of the fire burned at the right temperature as far as he could tell, but the most important part was adding the correct amounts of the ingredients meant to liquefy the metal and keep it from hardening once it cooled. The alchemist had no need of a solid substance but a liquid substance, and making liquid silver was tougher than it sounded. He hadn’t ever attempted it before, and he was afraid of messing it up. Everything hinged on him getting it right.

He poured it into the mold shaped like a small bowl on the end. With the flames blazing upward, Zach slid the iron mold into the fire and let the arm rest within the hooks. He backed away from the furnace and removed his gloves to toss them onto the table. Zach wiped the sweat from his forehead, letting out a sigh, as he wondered how long it would feel like as opposed to how long it would really take. He knew the search parties would be happening soon, and he wanted to be prepared to join them.

Walking out of the room for a small break, Zach made sure to set the timer. The funny thing was his timer was an hourglass, but it was just as good as a watch timer. Too bad the batteries on his watch died recently, and he hadn’t bothered to see if he could fix it or find an old wind-up watch to replace it.

Outside of the labs, it was much cooler, and he hugged his jacket close to his body. Zach wasn’t expecting visitors today, not to the alchemy labs. People rarely came out this way, and it was a lot like a private refuge for him these days. Sometimes, though, when people couldn’t find him elsewhere, they knew to look here.

[info]foxylady
Who: Mitsuko, Logan and Adrienne
When: Late evening
Where: Kamiyama-Nagamori/Jung cottage
What: A dinner between friends after organization fun

Mitsuko opened the oven and peeked in at the cooking steak. She licked her lips and poked at it carefully with a fork, not quite piercing the flesh. It was nice and rare on the inside, she could tell. Perfect for a pair of Kitsune and a Lycanthrope. She just hoped Charlie would be okay with it as well.

She put on an oven mitt and pulled the meat out of the oven, setting it down onto the table. She then placed down a side of greens and some rolls from the bakery. "I think we're just about ready to go," she said to Adrienne. "Let me just go call the boys."

Tranforming into her fox form, she darted out of the room and her soft fur-covered footsteps could be heard going up the stairs. "Logan! Charlie!" she called out. "We're ready to eat if you're done with your things!"

Mitsuko went back down into the kitchen with Adrienne. She grabbed a bottle of wine and began to uncork it. "Thanks for the help, Ookami-chan. I didn't realize just how settled I'd gotten in the other cottage."

Mitsuko and Logan had moved to a larger cottage. With Charlie and Chris now living with them the old one was too small. They had moved several days ago, but the last of the unpacking and organizing had only happened today (truthfully, Mitsuko probably would have finished had she not taken a 'stress relieving break' the night before at Sascha and Irei's).

She held out a glass of wine to Adrienne. "I can't believe it. Less than six months ago, the Council was saying I'm not mature enough to take care of three kids... Guess I showed them." She puffed out her chest briefly in pride, before dramatically deflating. "Of course, back then I didn't have much of a social life. I guess that's going to change." Certainly, sneaking out for sleepovers with Irei and Sascha should probably be curbed. Leaving a seventeen year old was one thing, but a seventeen year old and a pair of fourteen year olds? That seemed like a recipe for trouble.

Logan crept into the room silently. He went to Mitsuko's side and leaned in, whispering in her ear. Mitsuko frowned slightly. "Sweetie, it's Adrienne. You don't need to whisper to me."

"Charlie's asleep," Logan managed out, smiling nervously at Adrienne. "He was pretty tired."

"And Chris is still out..." Mitsuko cast a wary eye towards the door. She was going to have to keep an eye on that girl now that they were living together. But she put on a smile regardless. "I guess it's just the three of us! Sit down! I hope the food's all right, I'm still learning."

[info]bohemiarhapsody
Who: Sascha and Logan
When: Mid-morning
Where: The library
What: Someone's having a change of heart (and possibly employment)

Sascha had been discharged from the Medical Pavilion nearly three days ago, but he was still trying to readjust. The encounter with Danté seemed to have knocked a few screws loose in his head- figuratively speaking, of course, although he had a nice shiner over his left eye to show for it as well- and no matter what he did, he couldn't quite shake the feeling that something was...off. Wrong. Not quite right.

He couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was that seemed so off, but he was beginning to think that maybe it was just him. Maybe he was all wrong. And this place, this job, was really starting to grate on his nerves. He paused for a moment in his mental wangst-ing to shoot a rubber band at Rowan, smirking victoriously as it hit its target smack dab between the elf's shoulder blades. Rowan turned around to glare and gesture rudely at Sascha, and the telepath couldn't help but chuckle. He had taught his elven friend everything he knew about library hijinks and flashed middle fingers, after all.

His amusement was only temporary, though, and within minutes Sascha was back to shelving books and sulking. Sure, he loved books, and he loved being around people, too, but this was almost like torture. He was one of those people who was just born to talk- a lot- and the library was a horrible setting for that particular activity. He wanted to interact with people, to show them just what it was about the books he loved that made him love them, to...to...

He didn't quite get to finish his thought because at just that moment, someone who hadn't noticed him crouched on the floor in front of adult fiction, bookcase 'G' tripped right over him and knocked the both of them to the floor. Brilliant.

Who: Logan, Mitsuko and Zach
When: Night, after Logan brings Adrienne to the Medical Pavilion
Where: Mitsuko and Logan's place, then Zach's place
What: Bringing the terrible news

Once Adrienne was safely in the hands of the doctors, Logan slipped out of the Medical Pavilion silently. Everyone was in such a rush to take care of the badly injured girl, they hadn't noticed the bloodstained boy that had brought her in leave.

Where everything had been a panicked rush in trying to get Adrienne there, the world seemed to have slowed down now. His body felt heavy-- so very heavy. Each step home felt labored. He could feel the blood drying on his hands-- and his face. When he'd cradled his head, the blood-- Adrienne's blood-- had clung to his flesh.

Reaching home seemed to take forever-- when really, not much time had passed at all. He pushed open the door and went into the living room. He knelt down beside the couch, where the snow-coloured fox slumbered.

It's Adrienne )

They arrived at Zach's. Logan raised his hand to knock on the door, but he hesitated. Could he really do this? Could he tell his friend-- one of his best friends-- his girlfriend had been attacked by what looked like a wild animal?

He had to. Finally, he rapped his knuckles against the door and waited for what seemed like eternity for someone to answer. He wasn't completely certain what he would say, but he was certain he face spoke volumes as it was. Something bad had happened.

[info]cursedwithfur
Who: Adrienne and Danté
When: A little past midnight
Where: A path toward the freshwater lake
What: Danté follows through on a threat

The full moon was waning, and despite the chill in the air it was enough to make Adrienne go out for a walk. It was a beautiful night; blissfully quiet, and peaceful. Adrienne felt as if she were in a wonderland, something that wasn’t too far off from the reality of Elysium. There were times the lycanthrope still couldn’t believe that the haven was real even though she had been there for almost a year. She took a deep breath, and felt the clean air filling her lungs completely. Was the air ever this fresh in Chicago?

Her feet took her toward the freshwater lake, and though it wasn’t her intended destination (she really wasn’t headed anywhere in particular) she didn’t mind it at all. Adrienne was reminded of Lake Michigan every time she went there, and it always brought back good memories.

But that wouldn’t be the case tonight.

Bad memories were just around the corner, and they would rear their ugly head sooner than Adrienne ever expected.

If I can't have you, no one can. )

ooc: If anyone wants to write a narrative (in the form of a comment to this thread) of their character finding Adrienne, and taking her to the medical pavilion, then please do!

[info]dreammaster
Who: Logan and Irei
When: Late Night
Where: Dreamscape
What: The Nightmare Before on Christmas

Christmas was a rather subdue event between the Nagamori siblings. Mitsuko had found a fake plant in the storage unit. It didn't in any way resemble a Christmas tree... More like it belonged in an office. But Logan had made ornaments and Mitsuko had hung some of her jewelry to give a Christmas look. It had been the nice start to what Logan hoped would become a tradition-- Decorating the tree with his sister.

They'd exchanged gifts. Logan had made Mitsuko a carved box to hold her various accessories. Mitsuko had given Logan a new set of brushes, some clothes which were much nicer than he was used to and (what made him blush profusely) several men's magazines, with women in various states of undress. He couldn't say he wasn't grateful for the present, but he would die rather than admit it out loud.

While they had stopped by their various friend's homes to wish them Merry Christmas, most of the day was spent together in their cottage. Mitsuko had taught Logan a number of card games, regaling him of her time in Las Vegas, which it sounded like she'd enjoyed a great deal. Logan was never quite sure how to respond to his sister's crazy stories, but he was just happy to have family to be around on the holiday.

But Christmas was nearly over now. Mitsuko had gone to bed and Logan was lying back in his bed, willing to sleep to come to him. It was still difficult to fall asleep sometimes, knowing he would end up not in his own dreamworld but someone else's. Not only did he feel like he was invading someone's privacy, but he felt deprived of his own nocturnal thoughts, trapped in someone else's.

But sleep eventually came. Logan closed his eyes and drifted into slumber. When his unconscious dreamself regained focus, he felt surrounded by uneasiness. But there was something familiar about it.

"Do I know you?" Logan found himself asking to the conscious he was now in. He didn't expect an answer, but he felt the need to ask it all the same. He already didn't like it here.

[info]coalintodiamond
Who: Zach & Logan
When: Morning into the afternoon.
Where: Northeast Elysium
What: Two friends hanging out.

It had been a while since Zach hung out with Logan, and he hadn't heard from the other boy for some time. Determined to change that, he dropped by Logan's house to see what he was doing. Since neither of them had plans for the day, he asked Logan if he wanted to go out northeast either walking to riding. It was nice outside to Zach despite the cold weather, even if the sky was overcast. The gray wasn't too dark, and he knew no snow or rain was on the way from either direction. Afternoon would be the warmest time to be outside, and he had no idea how cold it would be by the evening when the light vanished completely from the sky.

Instead of taking horses, they ended up walking. Other people were traveling around as well until they got past the outskirts of town and ventured into the sparse woodland between the two lakes. The palace was straight beyond, but it wasn't visible in the distance just yet.

"So," Zach began after a short break of silence, "what else have you been up to lately?" He never did find out if Logan ever visited Theora, a suggestion Zach had once made to him after the death of Kaiya and Faye. Logan had had a crush on Kaiya at the time, had discovered the bodies, and took it very hard. It was understandable, but Zach had wanted his friend to get some help and talk to someone knowledgable about his problems — someone like Theora who could have helped Logan much more than Zach would have been able to. While he had dealt with death before, he had never found the deceased body himself.

[info]iseedeadpeople
Who: Irei, Sascha, Mitsuko, Logan, and Sheldon(?)
When: Evening, when the moon has appeared in the sky
Where: site of Kaiya and Faye's murder
What: Calling Kaiya's spirit back from the dead, bwahahahaha!

Irei scratched the back of his neck as he checked once again that he had everything ready for the seance. As this one was planned unlike the time those stupid harpies had attacked, he had thought to bring a bigger, and better supplies to work the magic that would be going down that evening. He had scratched a magic circle into the earth with a sturdy stick he had found near the murder site and was now busy etching pictographic ruins from within the circle. Multiple fat, white candles set on low round bases were set in strategic spots. He had also taken it upon himself to find something that had personally belonged to Kaiya, incase either Logan or Sheldon didn’t show up. It wasn’t much, but he would help him focus in on Kaiya’s energy.

He sat back on his haunches and looked over at his friend. Irei had asked Sascha to come with him this time. These kind of events tended to be very trying on even Irei’s ability to make it home on his own two feet. His normal practice of drinking to deaden the pain was effective, but he had to be sure not to drink too much, otherwise he wouldn’t be able to focus. He was grateful for that possessive streak that ran through Sascha on occasion that seemed to make him more than willing to accompany Irei and make sure the necromancer made it home safely.

Irei put a cigarette in his mouth and lit it on one of the already burning candles. “Oi!” He called out to Sascha and tossed his pack over to him, nearly wordlessly offering him a cigarette as well as asking him to hold onto it for him. Stuffed inside the pack of thin white sticks was Irei silver Zippo lighter. Considering Sascha had known very little of Kaiya while she was alive aside from Irei had told him, his presence was not required so much for that, as it was for moral support.

There had been no form of RSVP from the two he had invited out tonight. Irei hadn’t really expected much in that form, but he still wasn’t sure who would come. Logan had been really upset when Irei had mentioned calling his father’s spirit. He hadn’t seen Logan again until the Halloween festival, when they both had interest in the vampire/human odd couple. Although Logan had been interested in the teenaged girl, and Irei was far more drawn to Hayate himself. Unlike with Logan Irei had little knowledge of Sheldon, let alone his exact relation to the deceased fae.

He sucked the nicotine laced smoke deep into his lungs, causing him to cough. It was just a bit too much all at once. He buried his mouth into his elbow as he continued to cough.

Was there anything else he needed to do? The candles were set up, ruins sketched, and the incense was laid out ready to be burnt as an offering to the departed.. He stood back up and carefully made his way to where he had set down his grimoire, his book of necromancy spells and supernatural information. He picked it up and ran his hand over the repaired spine. It was a very old and very rare book. There were very few in existence that he knew off. It was Sato-sensei’s legacy that he had passed down to Irei. He opened the book and raised his eyes to glance over it at Sascha before returning to his mental check list.

All he really needed were the invited guests to attend.

Who: Mitsuko, Logan and the Kitano Family
When: Evening
Where: The Kitano Cottage
What: Dinnertime with the Kitanos and the Kitsune Kids... And the extraction of information on our friendly neighborhood psychopath

Mitsuko and Logan had arrived at the Kitano house at the dinner time, Mitsuko carrying with her a pie from the cafe. She hadn't been invited to a lot of family dinners, but it seemed like the polite thing to do. Logan was looking slightly better than he had in days, but he was still silent in light of being around the entire Kitano family, rather than just Zach.

After introductions, the two families were now sitting together at the dinner table. Mitsuko smiled at Kelsey and Lucinda. "Thank you for inviting Logan and I to dinner, Mista Kitano--" she remembered his dislike of Japanese honourifics. "--Mrs Kitano. I hope we didn't put you out."

Logan gave a brief nod of thanks, but couldn't manage to echo the sentiments. Mitsuko caught her brother's discomfort and decided to continue the conversation herself. "It looks very good. I'm not a very good cook myself. But I'm trying to learn, now that I'm not just torturing myself with bad cooking." She gave Logan a small, reassuring smile before turning back to Kelsey and Lucinda. "And you have a lovely home." Yeah, she was kissing ass. At least she was able to do it without sounding too smarmy.

[info]orange_tail
Who: Kayo and Logan
When: Night
Where: Kayo's dreams
What: An Awkward Case of Mistaken Identity

Kayo returned home, rubbing her eyes as sleepiness came upon her. As tired as she may be, it did not stop reminding the girl how it was another night she faced a dark and quiet room. Kayo dismissed any oncoming thoughts and quickly stepped inside her bathroom for a refreshing shower. As always she paid meticulous attention grooming her tail, keeping it smooth and silky. The Kitsune started to have flashes of memories in the past, remembering how by the end of the day she would find that Nagi's tail had accumulated a forest of sticks and leaves from playing outside. She would roll her eyes and comb her brother's tail since he was always too lazy to do it himself. Kayo shook her head from such nostalgia, unable to help but wonder where everyone else in her clan was, especially Nagi. After drying her hair, she prayed once more for his safety before slipping into the warm inviting bed.

Slumber gradually took over and piloted her into a peaceful sleep. It wasn't long before Kayo found herself in a dream, and she knew it was a dream because she was in Kyoto once more; in fact, Kayo was in the city. The girl looked around to see that nothing much as changed. She paused at a shopping window to see her reflection, which turned out to be about ten years older. Was this a dream in the future then? She kept on walking around, unable to help but feel how foreign this place felt. Kayo had gotten used to the lack of such a technology dominated environment and even if it was just a dream, she was bewildered from the images.

The girl suddenly turned around; she felt something...something familiar. It was a faint impression of a Kitsune. Is this even possible? Her eyes scanned the crowd of people to find the source of this sensation.

Who: Zach and Logan
When: 11:15 PM
Where: Logan and Mitsuko's Cottage
What: Zach comes to check in on his friend.

Despite the funeral having come and gone, Zach thought it was best to give Logan his space for a little while. He didn't drop by Logan's place to see his friend yesterday because it felt like it was too soon, and maybe Logan wanted some time alone to himself. Zach hated to intrude on a person's alone time, especially after something like this happened, but he wanted to check in on Logan and make sure the other boy was alright. It wasn't everyday when then girl you liked turned up murdered in such a brutal way.

He had walked from his cottage to Logan's place, not wanting to take a horse since he needed the time in between to think. When he got there, he wasn't even sure anyone would answer the door. If Logan was against having company, Zach would find himself stuck outside in the light drizzle pouring down from the sky. There was no umbrella, but Zach had on a large, knee-length rainproof coat with a hood pulled over his head. His hands were crammed into his pockets, and his boots were thick and muddy from tracking through wet ground.

It wasn't long until he reached his destination, and Zach walked up to the door and rapped his knuckles against the wood. "Is anyone home?" Zach asked loudly. "It's me, Zach," he said, hoping most of all that Logan would be inside somewhere.

[info]headcouncil
WHO: Open to anyone who wants to attend.
WHEN: Just after sunset.
WHERE: Northern Forest, near Van'taurë Lake.
WHAT: Faye and Kaiya's funeral.

Funerals in the most common fae tradition involved simple pyres to burn the bodies of the dead. It was an old tradition used to hide the bodies of the deceased, even in death, from the eyes of prying outsiders. Humans became known for ruining sacred ground by building their cities upon them or digging up the dead and, especially as time worn on, cremation became commonplace for most fae communities in the last few centuries. At Faye and Kaiya’s funeral, two elaborate pyres had been constructed in their honor near Van'taurë Lake.

The funeral began as a march. All those who attended walked a path from the edge of the forest to the location of the pyres by the lake. The journey to death had to be taken by all, and the crowd walked together with the people carrying the bodies of the deceased upon wooden carriers.

The colors of death were draped over their bodies. White was the color of death. Each woman wore a white dress, a white sheet draped over the lower half of their bodies, and white veils placed over their faces. Each of them held a bouquet of white sweet pea flowers in their hands. White poppy petals littered their dresses and the sheets over them.

When the march finally ended, they arrived at the pyres and stood at attention close to the lake. There were no seats. Faye and Kaiya were taken to their respective pyres and carried up to the top of the complicated structures. There, they were placed, and those who took them up the pyres returned to the ground. A song was sung by a choir of faes as the pyres were lit. All that could be done was to watch the fires rise up the pyres as attendees paid their respects by aiding the deceased into the afterlife with their presence.

[info]nosuchthings
Who: Kaiya and Faye's bodies, Devin, and Open!
When: Morning
Where: Outside of Kaiya and Faye's cottage
What: The discovery of death.

The early morning fog had covered the entire land, shielding even the most obvious things from sight. It was the reason that Kaiya and Faye's bodies were left practically untouched since the night before. They were strung up in a tree outside of their cottage with a blood-stained rope tied around each of their necks. They were limp, necks craned downward and toward one another. Their light bodies swayed a little in the slight breeze, and their small, fragile hands were holding onto each other, tied together with a piece of that same red rope. There was real blood mixed in with the fake blood on Faye's dress, and Kaiya's kimono was torn open, her chest visible through the violent tear.

Nearby lay Devin, their would-be savior. He was unconscious on the ground, and though he may have looked it he was barely injured. The fog rolled over his body, making it cool to the touch. There was a thin golden chain lying near Devin's position - a golden chain with a wooden cross upon it. Whom it belonged to was a mystery, or perhaps a clue to the culprit who committed the crime. It was a gruesome sight indeed, and though the fog partially shielded it it would only be a matter of time before an unfortunate soul stumbled upon it.

It was even possible that someone might mistake Devin as the culprit until he came awake. He himself had yet to know what had befallen the women just last night.

This morning, however, the truth could be hidden from no one who happened to stumble upon the scene of the crime. All of Elysium would eventually know of the murders of Faye Capricia and Kaiya Sato.

[info]dreammaster
Who: Logan and Mitsuko
When: Nighttime
Where: Somewhere between the festival and their cottage
What: Walking home and discussing... Certain matters regarding a tiny psychopath.

As the festival was winding down, Logan met up with Mitsuko. Neither of them looked particularly happy with the course of the evening. Logan had his unfortunate run in with Chris and Hayate, which left him with a bad taste in his mouth. Mitsuko, on the otherhand, was upset about lack of run-in. She had looked for Loki and had spied him, getting drunk with Adair. That her boyfriend would rather get smashed with a guy dressed as a dwarf or something wasn't the most thrilling discovery.

"How was your night?" Mitsuko asked Logan as they walked together towards their cottage.

Logan gave a slight shrug, not really sure what he was supposed to say with all of the thoughts going through his head. His thoughts of Kaiya and Chris, usually so separate, were all jumbled together now. Because of him. Hayate. Who was a vampire.

"I ran into Chris and Hayate," Logan finally managed.

Mitsuko's head jerked to the side to look at her half-brother. "I told you to stay away from Hayate, Logan! I know you want to be around your friend, but...."

"Did you know he was a vampire?" Logan asked, ignoring Mitsuko's rant. He thought he knew the answer, based on how serious she was about him not being around Hayate. He looked up at Mitsuko, his eyes full of innocent question.

Mitsuko nodded slowly. "Yeah. I did. And he's dangerous, Logan. You shouldn't be around him. I wish Chris wouldn't be around him, but I'm not her guardian. There's nothing I can do to stop her." There were some thing he could do-- such as talk to Emily-- but she had to take things carefully.

"I guess Irei told you what happened to him." Logan murmured. He knew how close Irei and Mitsuko were and considering how verbal he'd been with Chris and Hayate...

"What happened to Irei?" Mitsuko asked, shocked at this revelation. "Hayate did something to Irei?" It suddenly made sense. The bite marks on his neck. While Mitsuko had wondered idly if it might have been Hayate, she never really entertained it as a reality. Mitsuko sighed. "No... He didn't tell me. But... It makes sense."

Logan frowned deeply, cocking his head. "Why would you think Hayate is dangerous if you didn't know?"

"Logan..." Mitsuko spoke slowly, shaking her head. "I really don't want to tell you..."

"We shouldn't have secrets," Logan said softly. "You're my sister."

Mitsuko nodded slowly. "All right." She took another deep breath. "But you have promise me you won't do anything about this. It's my responsibility, Logan. I'll take care of it."

Logan nodded silently, eyes wide as he looked up at Mitsuko.

"Irei... Isn't the only person Hayate has bitten." She put a hand up to calm Logan when he started to react to this revelation. "Just... Don't. Please. When I went to the Med Pav... It wasn't for exhaustion like I said. It was blood loss. The night before, I met Hayate and... He bit me."

She bit her lip. "Logan, you can't do anything. I'm telling you... It's not safe. I don't know what's going on with him and Chris. But I am going to find out. And I'm going to take care of Hayate. Just do your best to stay out of his way." She turned to him and put her hands on Logan's shoulders. "And don't tell Chris about what Hayate did to me. It's not going to change her mind about him. Girls are stupid when it comes to the guys they like."

She cradled Logan's face, before leaving in and giving him a kiss on the forehead. "It'll be all right. I promise."

So... Hayate had sunk his teeth into Irei. Well, Mitsuko would have to have a talk with him. And with Faye. It seemed they needed to move quickly with that tiny psycho.

The sounds of happy parade goers filled the evening air as the citizens of Elysium marched from the town toward the festival near the Ancient Elven Tree. Many of the citizens were dressed in costume, and it was obvious that they had been looking forward to the All Hallow's Eve event. The lively music, provided by the fauns, set the overall tone of the parade. Many of the citizens were singing along to the music, while others whooped and cheered. Their path toward the Ancient Elven Tree was lighted by magical sparklers that never lost their energy, and some citizens even had hand-held sparklers that they waved around happily. Sorcerers enchanted objects to light up the sky like fireworks, while small fairies fluttered around the citizens like fireflies.

Onto the festivities! )

[info]dreammaster
Who: Logan and Kaiya
When: Afternoon
Where: Outside Logan and Mitsuko's cottage, Helicharis
What: Kaiya meets her 'dream man'.

Logan pulled his jacket tighter around himself. It was a bit cool for him to be outside, but he'd felt like getting out of his room. He'd been sitting up there all night, unable to sleep. He was bothered by the dinner party he'd gone to. First... It had brought up his tumultuous feeling for Chris and... Mr. Gray's 'incident'. Logan wasn't sure exactly what had happened, but it had frightened the life out of him.

Not sleeping wasn't new to Logan. Insomnia was something he was rather used to. Ironic, for someone who gained so much power from dreams...

After a long night alone, Logan chose to sit outside the cottage. He'd seen Mitsuko do this often, watching the people walk by. He wasn't sure exactly what she got out of it, but he found it wasn't entirely unpleasant.

He was in the midst of a drawing of Malcolm. The man was on his mind now, Logan now having seen him suffer. He couldn't get rid of the sick feeling in his stomach. He wanted to take care of Maddy, he had promised to... And Malcolm seemed to do that well. Yet now, he was in the Medical Pavilion. At least Maddy still had her other guardian.

Despite the cool weather and even with his dark thoughts, Logan began to feel drowsy. He leaned against the wall of the cottage and closed his eyes. He needed rest. Perhaps, with the cold, he wouldn't fall too deep into sleep, enough that he could have imageless rest. He was so tired of the dreams of others....

Who: Malcolm, Idehr, Maddy, Emily, Echo, Chris, Charlie, Logan, Aveira, Radu, Elspeth Gray and Fiona Gray (I got everyone, right?)
When: Evening
Where: The Gray-Raokas Cottage
What: The Gray-Raokas Dinner Party

Malcolm was very excited. It was the first time they had a party. Oh, they had been a bunch of parties. There had been quite a few festivals in Elysium. But this was the first time the Raokas-Gray clan had their own party. It seemed to make thing more 'real', a real family. Ide was in the kitchen make dinner while Malcolm was setting the table. Actually, it was tables. With the number of people they had coming, they had to set up two extra tables, putting them together to form one long one.

"Malcolm!" Maddy said, running down the stairs. She was dressed in a cute dress. Her hair was in pigtails, but she had a pair of hair clips in her hand. "Mal Mal Mal... Can you help me?" She held out the hair clips to him.

Malcolm knelt down and took the clips from Maddy. "All right." He slipped the clips into her hair, pushing the locks back off her face. "There you go. Looks perfect."

Maddy beamed at Malcolm. She twirled around. "How do I look?"

"Beautiful." Malcolm gave her a pat on the arm. "Are you ready for everyone to come over and tell you how pretty you are?"

Maddy nodded. "Uh-huh. And have lots of fun with all our friends!"

OOC: Since this thread involves so many RPers and has specific events that need to occur in it, we ask that you don't create threads in it, but rather reply to the threads we've made. Each thread represents a different time in the event (Arrival, Mingling, Dinner and The Trouble), which can be freely replied to and have sub-threads within. Hopefully, it should be pretty easy to follow what's going on.

[info]foxylady
Who: Mitsuko, Chris and Logan
When: Late afternoon / early evening
Where: Mitsuko and Logan's Cottage
What: Logan gets ready for the Gray-Raokas Dinner Party and Mitsuko has some "girl talk" with Chris

"Logan!" Mitsuko called up the stairs. She was smiling up at her brother. "You better get yourself ready! Chris is going to be here any moment for your date!"

Logan slipped out of his room, his dress shirt half-buttoned and his hair mussed. "It's not a date," he rasped out, his cheeks turning pink. "Maddy just asked us over. Charlie's going to be there and lots of others."

Mitsuko was still getting used to Logan talking-- and thus, talking back-- to her. She let out a small laugh. "Yeah, well, Chris is coming all the way over here to walk with you to Malcolm's, which is a lot closer to her place than yours. That sounds date-like. Now come on! Get ready! Look as handsome as possible."

Mitsuko wrinkled her nose as she went back to the sofa to sit. She couldn't believe what was going on around. Her own shy, nervous brother had a date, the same day as her ice queen of a mother. And she did not. There was definitely something wrong with the world.

At least there was one advantage to Logan taking so long to get ready. If Chris arrived soon, it would Mitsuko a chance to talk to the girl about Hayate. She needed to find out all she could about the vampire, before she made her next move.
