[info]ophelos
Who: Rosalinda and OPEN
When: Nighttime
Where: The Arts & Trade Enclave, at the top of the Astronomy Tower.
What: Spending the night away from home with a little star-gazing.

Rosalinda adjusted her coat around herself as a particularly cold gust of wind passed her by. With a blanket over her lap, she sat atop the astronomy tower as she used one of the many telescopes to spy what stars and celestial bodies she could see in the sky. Though there had been some clouds during the day, the strong winds took many of them away by nightfall. Not everything was visible in the sky, but she could spot some of them easily, and she adjusted the lens of the telescope to view them each with more clarity.

Since enclave rested on the shelf of the mountains, the blanket in her lap was extra protection against the cold and bitter wind of the mountains. It was worse in the winter than during any other time, and she knew coming up here during the night would have been foolish without proper apparel and coverage. It was far colder up here than it was down by the cottages.

She wasn’t sure what possessed her tonight to go star-gazing, but it wasn’t something she had done in a long time. She felt like she spent day in and day out around outrageous things she could barely make sense out of, and tonight, Rosalinda just wanted to do something simple away from people—by herself. It wasn’t to say the company of one would be a punishment. Rosalinda was beginning to feel a little alone out there by herself, staring at the stars so far away in the sky.

Who: Dylan [Narrative]
When Morning
Where: His office in Town Hall.
What: Dylan is conflicted by Hayate’s heroic actions and Dante’s confession to the murders.
Note: Just have your character respond with a comment that is a letter to Dylan!

Dylan paced his office as the sun was rising, trying to make sense of the events from the past few days. He pulled back a curtain to reveal the early morning sky pink from the rainfall. Glad for the moment of silence away from people, Dylan simply studied the clouds and cleared his mind of other thoughts. The djinni needed some time to himself to rejuvenate his mind. He was more tired than usual from late nights and meeting after meeting. The Vice Council members attempted to collect evidence on Hayate, but they had all come up dry.

The victim would not have lied about such a thing, but at the same time Dylan wondered if maybe her encounter had distorted her perception. It was even possible someone tried to look like the man she accused and she confused the two . . . something had to explain it. Even though he was six-hundred-years old, Dylan was still just a man. He was not a god, and he couldn’t be sure of anything regarding this case. He had a particular perception like everything other person, and his perception was barraged with a lack of evidence. He wondered what the councilmen and women thought and decided a meeting would be called for or perhaps an exchange of letters. Dylan needed to know how far they had gotten by now.

It mattered more in these final moments because Dante confessed to the murders of Simon, Eliza, Faye, and Kaiya. All of them were murdered in a way to make it look as though a vampire had done it, but none of the bodies were drained of blood . . . a peculiar thing, and not the mark of a vampire. They had nothing to hold Hayate on anymore since Ms. Hart’s word was not currently enough to keep him behind bars without further evidence, and they had no legal right to hold him for the murders of anyone.

Hayate was free to go as soon as he healed, but Dante . . . a psychopath right under their noses. Dylan told himself they couldn’t have known, but he wished he could have. He wished he could have prevented it, stopped it somehow—but wasn’t that the wish of any good person? To know the bad before it happened, in order to prevent it? Not even a psychic could predict the entire future before them.

Dylan let the curtain fall over the window and moved to his desk, sitting down in his chair. He pulled out the envelopes and letters to prepare one for each of the Vice Council members. Today, they would each receive one.

I see a storm bubbling up from the sea, and it's coming closer . . .  )

Who: Scarlet and Leon
When: Afternoon
Where: The Medical Pavilion
What: Scarlet vents and yells at Leon

With the increasing amount of troubling events going about the town, Scarlet could only imagine that Leon might actually have more people using his services. It wasn't easy for people to ignore the rumors. Some may be so troubled that they didn't feel safe. Sometimes not being safe meant needed to talk to someone. In fact, as she neared Leon's office she saw a young man leave his office and she kindly stepped aside so he had room to walk by.

She stayed by the door for a moment and took a breath. One would think she was calm since she greeted almost everyone that she saw in the Pavilion. However, once she got into his office, she shut the door probably a little harder than she meant to and pretty much, like a high school student to another punched him hard in the shoulder.

"That was the dumbest idea in the world!"

She sat in the chair across from him and crossed her legs and arms. "You know what? Late night meetings are called off. It makes me agree to the worst things ever. I should have went to the archives alone. if I did, I wouldn't feel so horrible." She hit him with all she had, so she sure as hell hoped it hurt. Sure, it was immature but she needed to be pissed at someone other than herself. Luckily, she wasn't the only person who made the descision that she talk to Chris.

[info]livinghell
Who: Travis, Leon and OPEN
When: Late Night (Travis is weird)
Where: Town Hall Archives
What: Travis wakes up Leon to have a peak at the information on Hayate.

"Dude. Isn't this pretty cool? I mean, it's not cool that some psycho killed more than enough people." The fire mage tossed a brow over. "Well, I think he's guilty. But I am not letting that get in the way of what everyone else thinks. You know me, I'm a very open guy." Travis almost gave a quick batting of the lashes before he continued. "But when I got the letter, I was expecting it to self destruct in about thirty seconds. I mean, I don't think this place has enough technology to do such a thing, but this is serious business." Childish. That was him about now. However, once he got to the Town Hall, his demeanor would change. Travis probably had an automatic switch somewhere on his body. If Scarlet showed up, maybe he'd ask her to find it.

Travis put out his cigarette and looked on over to Leon. The poor guy was near sleep walking. "Jesus. Lighten up. No one goes to bed at ten anymore unless they are under the age of ten. Besides, I feel much cooler doing this at night because it almost feels illegal." Juivellie, that explained him sometimes too.

When they got to the Town Hall, Travis had to hit Leon on the back of the head to prevent him from stalling then silently went towards the archives. Travis felt like a VIP went there was no one stopping him and his sleepy friend on his way to the archives.

Once inside, door closed he began to get out the information in Hayate.

"Aliright Hayate Ishi-blah bah. Let's get a look on what information the archive has on you."

It was just him and Leon currently, but who knew. Perhaps more of his fellow Vice Council members would show up. Maybe one member thought they would be able to look at the archive in peace and..well that idea made the most sense to Travis.

OOC: Just an idea I had for a late night meeting! Leon has to reply then feel free to jump in! Come on, you know you want to!

[info]psychometric
Who: Daiyu and Leon
When: Late Afternoon
Where: Medical Pavilion-Leon's office
What: Daiyu vents about various things. One being a particular Naga.

If one saw Daiyu, they would think she was some zombie from Dawn of the Dead. She had a hoodie on, but it was lazily falling down to almost her elbows. Her eyes had dark circles around them and her skin seemed almost pale. Her makeup from the previous night was on. So mascara and eye shadow dripped from her lashes and eye lids to the corner of her eyes. Eventually, there was a trail leading towards her cheeks. When the rain started it looked like she was crying.

She was cold, but she ignored the feeling and dragged her feet towards the Medical Pavilion. When she arrived her hair was dripping and she felt like a dog shaking her hair slightly. A woman asked her where she was going when she walked by a various group of employees. Daiyu simply gave them the finger. The psychometric could read, she was going to find her destination by herself.

She found Leon’s office and near kicked the door open. Slamming the door behind her she sat on the comfortable couch for a moment before she spoke.

“………………..This really does look like a shrinks office.”

She made herself more comfortable by kicking off her shoes and putting her feet up on the couch. “I walked all this fucking way to see your ass so you’re going to shut up and do the whole shrink-y thing with me or I will kick your ass.”

[info]headcouncil
Who: Everyone!
When: Evening
Where: The Arts and Trade Enclave
What: Grand Opening of the Enclave! Elected Vice Council members are announced! Not to mention, there’s a par-tay!

Tonight was the night for the Grand Opening of the Arts and Trade Enclave. After many careful months of renovating the original buildings located near the tip of the northern mountains, it was completed at last. What was once an old village had been turned into an enclave for learning and the arts, which had been deemed important by the Head Council for the community of Elysium. The public lacked a place to pursue their love of the arts and finer crafts, and now it was made possible for them with supplies, teachers, and more. It was one of the finest ideas for the haven’s people. Hopefully, it would come to fulfill the extra needs of the citizens.

As for the party itself, they had gone all out for the occasion. Gold and white ribbons decorated everything from the doors to the windows to the eaves of the roof, and everyone was dressed up for the occasion. Both inside and outside of the building, there were long tables dedicated to serving snack foods and beverages to the attendees. The ballroom was open, serving as a dance floor for the evening with live music, and even the patio beyond was lit by glowing lanterns and a full crowd of mingling people.

The party had been going on for no more than thirty minutes so far when it was time for the Head Council to announce the elected members of Vice Council. The music ceased temporarily out on the patio as the three of them made an appearance on the stage in place of the entertainment for the evening.

“Welcome, everyone!” Dylan announced with a smile. )

[info]neosporin
Who: Warren and Leon (OH YEZZSSSIREE)
When: Late Morning
Where: Medical Pavilion then other areas
What: Getting a grumpy Psychologist to have some fun

Quite bluntly, it would suck to be working on Christmas. Well, a close second would of course to be hiding for some reason. That was just as bad. He was doing that for while. Warren felt ridiculous hiding from the tiny vampire he worked with for the past few weeks, but the little shit did in fact push him into a ditch. Not just a small ditch. It was a ditch he had to crawl out of with nasty cuts and bruises. Somehow (the healer had phases of telling random information) the little blood sucker knew he was extremely disgusted by blood, even his own. So, it took him about an hour to heal his own wounds. Kazuki would get his little share of karma. All in due time.

Warren for some reason felt some urge to see if any doctors were working on Christmas. It would be a shame if they were. Pushing the door open to the Medical Pavilion, he gave greetings to various people who wished him a Merry Christmas in various different tones. He stuck his head into a vast amount of offices to see if anyone screamed needs Christmas cheer. When he found someone sleeping at their desk, he found the one. It was kind of hilarious, yet kind of sad.

Knocking on the frame of the door rather loudly, Warren tried to wake the stranger up. He seemed..familiar. No matter, first he had to get him up.

Who: General Narrative
When: Early Morning
Where: Town Hall
What: Letters to all Vice-Council Nominees

The Vice-Council nominations was the first political venture of Elysium, and therefore it was taken very seriously by the Head Council. The council hoped that those nominated would take the endeavor seriously since at the end of it all they would be in charge of many things in the haven. Their appointment would not only assist the Head Council in various tasks, but those in the Vice-Council would serve as examples for the rest of the citizens.

The community was not small enough that everyone knew everyone by name or by face alone. Those nominated for the position of Vice-Council would have to get their name out to the public, they would have to campaign for votes amongst the citizens. The Head Council sent out letters to each of the nominees to congratulate and to inform them of the upcoming campaigning period.

THE LETTER DISPATCHED: Giles Audley, Devin Blair, Sascha Connolly, Midori Kamiyama, Dominic Powell, Leon Saunders, Corisanthias Xyllaniasodas, Peter Ross, Scarlet Faherty, Beatrice Darcy-Bertrand, Travis Nielsen. )

[info]elunesgrace
Who: Everyone
When: Afternoon
Where: Town Hall
What: The nominees for the Vice Council are announced!

The Head Council had been busy as of late with the homicides of Faye Capricia and Kaiya Sato. It had filled the priestess's heart with much sorrow knowing that someone had deliberately taken the lives of the innocent fae. Not only that, but it was done by a fellow citizen, someone who lived in the haven with them all. The question on the priestess's mind was how were they to ensure everyone's safety when the danger came from within?

Theora didn't have much time to ponder that question, however, since it was time to announce the nominees for the Vice Council. She put on a smile for the gathered crowd, and stepped up to the podium to speak. "Citizens of Elysium," she began, her aura exuding a calm glow to ease the worries of the people. "Thank for you for coming out her today to meet those who have been nominated for the Vice Council positions. I will call out the names of those who have been nominated, and, if they so wish he, or she, may accept the nomination and give a short speech to the audience. However, if the nominee wishes to decline, they may do so as well."

The priestess waited for the small whispers in the crowd to die down before she continued. She looked at her paper with the names of all of those who had been nominated. Hopefully, some of them would be here today to accept their nomination. She began to read from the list slowly, as to give each nominee time to respond.

"Amada Ontiveros-Smith... Beatrice Darcy-Bertrnd... Corisanthias Xyllaniasodas... Devin Blair... Dominic Powell... Giles Audley... Leon Saunders... Malcolm Gray... Midori Kamiyama... Peter Ross... Pietro Conté... Sascha Connolly... Scarlet Faherty... Travis Nielsen... Zane Smith."

Theora allowed each person who accepted their nomination a few moments to speak to the crowd, stating why they would be good for one of the Vice Council positions. Once they were finished with their miniature speeches, Theora took to the podium once more.

"Our candidates will now begin their campaigning to garner your votes. This will continue until January of next year, when you will be placing our final votes for the positions. Thank you again for your time, and may Elune be with you."

Notes on the nominees. )

[info]priceoffreedom
Who: Elijah,Leon, and Mikhail
When: Early Afternoon
Where: In front of the crime scene / Faye and Kaiya's cottage
What: Contemplating life and death

It was a shame that Hallow's Eve had come and gone just like that. Elijah rather liked the holiday and it was the one festival that he had decided to attend. He didn't interact with anyone that night, but he did enjoy seeing all of the different costumes and all of the fun that people were having. But one day had passed since then and everyone was going back to the normal routine.

As normal as it could be considering the tragedy that occurred the night of Halloween. Death was a fun theme that laced every Halloween tradition, and yet the deaths of the two innocent fae on that very night made the holiday that much more tragic. Elijah stood in front of the crime scene, just beyond the yellow tape that had been used to close off the entire area. He was staring at the trees, and the ground around their house. The elemental caught the scent of blood, and he even saw some spots of it upon the earth.

He sighed out loud, wondering who could commit such a travesty against two young fae. Though Elijah did not know them personally, he took the news of their murder to heart. It saddened him to think that something so terrible could happen in a place that was supposed to be a haven. Elijah was no stranger to death, but that did not make it any easier to understand.

He raked his fingers through his hair before he shoved both of his hands into his pockets. The elemental stood there for several minutes, trying to recreate the events that took place that night. Of course, there were any number of scenarios that could have been correct, but no matter what he thought up each and every one of them was violent and sad in every way.

Who: Everyone!
When: From sunset onward!
Where: Around the Ancient Elven Tree
What: All Hallow's Eve Festival!

ooc: to join in on the festivities, simply comment to the main post. Your entry can be a narrative or open to others. If you are replying to someone else reply to their comment and not to the main post. All activities are open for participation, it is up to your discretion what your character will do.

The sounds of happy parade goers filled the evening air as the citizens of Elysium marched from the town toward the festival near the Ancient Elven Tree. Many of the citizens were dressed in costume, and it was obvious that they had been looking forward to the All Hallow's Eve event. The lively music, provided by the fauns, set the overall tone of the parade. Many of the citizens were singing along to the music, while others whooped and cheered. Their path toward the Ancient Elven Tree was lighted by magical sparklers that never lost their energy, and some citizens even had hand-held sparklers that they waved around happily. Sorcerers enchanted objects to light up the sky like fireworks, while small fairies fluttered around the citizens like fireflies.

Onto the festivities! )

[info]lionsden
Who: Leon and Voe
When: Late Afternoon
Where: Marketplace
What: Leon meets someone new..and unusual.

Sometimes like any other medical facility, the Medical Pavilion had days that were quite calm and days that were quite busy. For some of the day Leon took part in caring for any of the lycans in need of medical care. Though he was a Psychologist, it didn’t mean he didn’t know anything about first aid. Luckily though, there were other doctors that took part in the medical aid as well. From what he saw there seemed to be volunteers as well.

For the rest of his day he planned to check out the Marketplace. He usually was the sort of person who went for one thing and only one thing in the area, but he decided for once to browse the area for awhile. He took in the scent of the restaurant. He was familiar with the interior, that’s where he had met Kaiya. He suddenly found himself wondering how the fae had been doing for the few weeks that had passed.

He moved towards the sweet smell of the bakery but suddenly stopped when he saw an unusual looking female. “I-uhm.” He dug his hands into his pockets. He never would have commented this out loud, but she kind of looked like a female doused in flower. It was fitting for being near the bakery. In realistic terms she looked more ghostly than anything else.

[info]nospoon
Who: Everyone
When: 5 PM
Where: The Mausoleum by the Temple
What: Dr. James Pryce's wake

Zane stood in front of his mirror, adjusting the tie just one more time before he would slip on the black jacket. He could hear Pryce's voice in his mind, "Why so dressed up, Smithy? Planning on getting laid tonight?" The thought made him smile a little, only to find that the idea of never having to hear his friend's voice tore him up inside. He swallowed the lump in his throat, and smoothed out his hair before he left for the mausoleum.

The tone was somber as with any funeral service. The attendees were downtrodden, and a few of them were crying. Zane was trying his best not to be effected by it, but it was hard when there at the front of the room was Pryce's coffin. It was left open for anyone who wanted to come up and say a few words to the dearly departed, or for anyone who wanted to pay their respects. Though many people did not know Doctor Pryce personally, many knew of him since he was one of the few doctors in Elysium.

The service was presided over by Theora, and the Elven priestess spoke words that offered comfort for those who felt the loss the deepest. "Do not think of James as being gone," she said. "For he will live on forever in our hearts and memories. We honor him best by living our lives to the fullest." Zane had kept his emotions in check until the moment he walked up to Pryce's coffin. The top half was left open, and Pryce was lying inside, dressed up in his nicest suit. He looked like he was sleeping, and in some ways that brought Zane some comfort.

"This is it, buddy," he said in a low voice. The tears that had welled up in his eyes were falling down his face now, and the doctor made no attempt to hide them. "Look at you, all dressed up. I don't think I've seen you this dressed up since the wedding." He chuckled a little through the streaming tears, wiping them away with the heel of his hand. "I can't believe you keeled over on me before our next poker night," he added, trying to make light of the situation. "Dammit..." The jokes weren't working as well as he thought, but he kept talking. "Thanks for everything, but most of all, thanks for being my friend. It won't be the same without you." Zane wiped at his tears again and moved to pat Pryce's cold hands as they lay folded along his middle. "See you later, buddy."

And with that Zane moved away from the coffin, making room for the next person to say a few words to the late Doctor James Pryce.

[info]forlornfae
Who: Kaiya and Leon
When: Dinner time
Where: The Restaurant
What: Kaiya cries over her dinner, and Leon can't help but notice

It had been a week since Kaiya had seen, or heard from Hayate. A week, seven whole days, ten-thousand and eight minutes, and entirely too long in Kaiya's opinion. She had wanted to see him again, wanted to spend more time with him, wanted to have sex with him again. Sex meant acceptance to the young fae though she and Hayate hadn't had sex since that first time they shared a bed. It worried Kaiya that they hadn't, and she feared that she had fallen out of his favor.

It was such a big worry for the fae that she couldn't even enjoy the dinner she had ordered at the restaurant. She sat there with her pasta dish in front of her, untouched and uneaten. Her hands were folded in her lap, and her eyes were cast down onto the table. She had begun to cry. Soft, silent tears that streamed down her cheeks only to drop off at the edge of her chin. She sniffled, pulling the napkin from the table to dab at her eyes gently. But her tears wouldn't stop flowing.

The more she thought about Hayate, the more she wept. Kaiya feared that she had been used by Hayate like she had been used in the past by all of the other men who came to her bed. She was an object to them, something that they used to relieve all of their frustrations upon, sexual or otherwise. Kaiya had hoped that things would be different with Hayate; after all, Elysium was a new beginning for her.

Still, she cried harder now than before. She was sobbing loudly, and the wooden table was becoming spattered with her tear drops. Kaiya pushed her food away, and rested her head against her forearm. She felt terrible, and it didn't matter that she was causing a scene in the middle of the restaurant.

[info]wishgranted
WHO: Dylan and Leon
WHEN: Early Afternoon
WHERE: Helicharis
WHAT: A meeting between like-minded men.

Dylan walked with his hands in pockets, surveying the landscape around him. A group of children were playing nearby, and it brought a smile to Dylan’s face. They were playing a ball game, and some of them had wings and were attempting to fly above the others to win. A fairly tall child, presumably a giant, grabbed one of the fae children by the feet and told him to come down. Dylan shook his head and laughed, turning his attention back to his walk and the road ahead of himself.

However, their play resulted in loss of the ball. It fell from the fae’s hands and bounced across the grass, finally rolling at last and stopping at Dylan’s feet. He halted in his walk and, instead of bending over to pick up the ball, Dylan held out his hand towards it and began to levitate the light object. It floated into the air as the little kids all ran towards him. “Can we have our ball back?” one of them called, a chorus of voices echoing their agreement.

“Yeah, can we have our ball back, please?” another said.

Dylan smiled and shook his head, causing the ball to dart away from the boy with wings who had immediately flown to try and retrieve the floating ball. “Hey!” the little boy exclaimed, his wings buzzing in the air like a dragonfly’s wings.

“Play nice with each other, and I will return the ball,” Dylan said with a gentle grin, causing the ball to dance through the air. The kids started to laugh and jump up and down. The fae boy landed on the grass and took up beside his friends. They all began to promise in a loud chorus of voices how they would behave and play properly if he returned the ball to them. “Do you promise?” Dylan inquired, lifting an eyebrow.

“Yeeessss,” they all said. Dylan chuckled and released the ball, sending it soaring over the crowd of heads. They all squealed and began running towards the ball. “LAST ONE THERE IS A CHICKEN EGG!” one called, and Dylan’s nose wrinkled at the suggestion. He hoped the girl was not a witch, otherwise she might actually try to attempt the feat. He shook his head and walked once more, planning on heading somewhere for a rest today. Often, he worked long hours and did not do much for himself. Today, that would be different.
