Who: Open to Everyone
When: All Day
Where: The edge of Elysium, near the mountains.
What: Some of the search party checks inside Elysium’s borders for Dante.
OOC: Post multiple threads, leave them open for others to join, or set your character up with someone in particular! Just have fun and use your imagination! Clues, discoveries, and more are up to you!

Despite their reasons for being at the edge of Elysium, the edge of the land was a beautiful place to behold. Mountains rose high into atmosphere, shadowy blue in the distance and snow-tipped at the peaks. Endless caves burrowed into the mountains, though most of them were occupied by the dwarves and their little kingdom apart from most of Elysium. Not only could Dante not hide with the dwarves, for they had been warned of his possible presence at the borders, but the search party could gleam information of local happenings from the dwarves.

It was unlikely they would find Dante today, but the werewolf had to have left a trail due to traveling. There was no way he could not be traced, not when he was being followed by trained guards, eager citizens, and other praeternaturals with senses to combat Dante’s own. Taking the two women with him had been a terrible mistake, and the search party was determined first and foremost to rescue Dante’s captives and to take Dante—dead or alive, the announcement said—back to Helicharis.

Now, it was simply up to them to pick up a trail and discover the location of Dante Donovan, Adrienne Conté, and Dione Castel.

Who: Theora (Narrative)
When: Early morning
Where: Town Square
What: Putting together search parties.

The haven was in an uproar following the discovery of Dante’s escape from the dungeons. It was still a mystery to those investigating the scene, but the most pressing matter of the moment was the apprehension of the sociopath. And if that wasn’t enough for the council, and the authorities to deal with they also had to factor in the presence of possibly two hostages – Adrienne Conté and Dione Castel.

A town meeting was called in the early morning hours. The citizens had a right to know what was happening, but to also gather volunteers for the upcoming search parties. While the guards in Elysium were very capable there was a higher chance of success when more people were incorporated. The powers of the citizens could not be overlooked, and if they worked together Dante would have very little chance of escaping.

Theora stood behind the podium in front of the gathering crowd. Once the din of whispers died down she began to speak. “People of Elysium we have called you forth in order to ask for your assistance concerning the situation with Dante Donovan. I will not lie to you; he is a very dangerous man, and he has taken two young women captive in his escape. We ask for your assistance in this matter. There is much land to cover, and we simply do not have enough guards to traverse the land efficiently. This is a volunteer mission, and please do not feel obligated to extend your services. We also ask that everyone lock your doors tightly tonight. We are still unsure of Dante’s whereabouts, but we will do everything in our power to keep all of you safe.”

Theora stepped down from the podium, and opened herself for questions from the citizens.

OOC: If your character is interested in being part of a search party please comment here. Put "Note to the Council" in the subject, and write a little something that expresses your character's desire to volunteer.

Who: Katy and Adrienne
When: Afternoon
Where: First at Adrienne's house, and then across the street to Danté's home
What: A little breaking and entering

Katy had been more than a little bit disturbed since she had met with Danté in his cell. She had learned things that she probably would have been better off not knowing, but she had opened Pandora's box the moment she had involved herself with the public kidnapping of the young man, whom she had come to learn was named Zach.

He had pictures of her.

The thought had become obsessive and she hadn't been able to sleep last night. She had made sure every possible way someone could see into her house had been covered. She felt violated and powerless because of the loss of control in her world. She had become used to feeling strong, thinking nothing could actually hurt her because she was a lycanthrope. She needed to know whether Dante had lied to her again just to put her through this.

She had spent the morning figuring out where the madman had lived while he was still free, and found out that he lived in town. She was surprised to learn however that he lived so close to Adrienne Conté. She remembered Adrienne at the scene when Dante had broken her ribs and nearly suffocated her. She had wondered what could have prompted the two of them, Dante and her, to know each other.

She knocked on Adrienne's door. There was something she needed to do, but she felt like she should ask Adrienne if she would help her.

[info]beneaththeskin
Who: Katy and Dante
When: mid-afternoon
Where: Dungeon
What: Visiting the prisoner

Katy chewed on her thumb nail anxiously.

She had been released from the medical pavilion not to long after being admitted. Being a werewolf did have it's perks, like healing much faster than a normal human could. She had ended up spending a few days in her home though, and hadn't left for many reasons. But now her place was starting to become oppressively big for just one person. She found herself locking the doors and making sure the windows were latched, but she kept telling herself it wasn't because of him. Besides, he was locked up behind bars.

She put hand on her neck where he had tried choking her. How dare that psychotic bastard touch her. Katy refused be afraid of him.
Which was what brought her to the dungeon now. She removed her jacket and took a breath so she could talk to the elven guards. She hoped they would allow her to go down and see him. She hadn't been aware that quite a few people had already gone down a visited him already. Apparently he had quite a few female visitors.

Katy's brow furrowed at the idea of so many women coming to visit him. How many people had he threatened and/or stalked. She headed down into the holding cells with the elven guards close at hand, as they wouldn't allow her down without an escort. She had to cover her nose as the smell of little dead things seemed to linger in the cell.

She eyed the figured beyond the bars and narrowed her eyes, waiting for her pupils to get used to the lower lighting in the room. "Well look at you Douglas, or Dante. Whoever you are." She crossed her arms and eyed the silver bars warily. "Mhm. I knew they would lock you up like a caged animal."

[info]nospoon
Who: Those injured in the confrontation with Danté, Medical Pavilion Staff, and anyone else who'd like to join in
When: Late morning
Where: Medical Pavilion
What: Treating the injured, and other various little scenes

The medical pavilion was usually busy with minor things, the sort of everyday injuries that one would expect to see in small cities. There were no gunshots wounds to worry about, or car accidents to pry people from. There were no rapes, or gang related incidents. The 'normal' injuries that could be found in a secluded haven like Elysium were things like cuts, and scrapes. Occasionally a broken bone would come through the place, or a baby would be born, and the staff could always count on the full moon to bring them lycan related injuries.

So when the victims from the altercation with a non-full moon crazed werewolf came in the night before the medical pavilion staff was excited to say the least. It wasn't the idea of having injured citizens that was exciting, but it was the chance to use their skills to the fullest that was. Granted everyone would rather have injury free people in the haven, but there were something that felt right about getting the chance to use the skills you had to help the people around you.

Needless to say Zane didn't sleep all night, and he was still going strong the next morning when it came time to check in on the patients. "I need someone to check in on Ms. Wilson in room three, Mr. Connolly in room five, and Mr. Ishikawa in room seven. Get their vitals, see if they're awake yet, and if there are any complications then come and get me. So, any volunteers?"

[info]darkdevotion
Who: Dante, Zach, and open to others
When: Evening
Where: Beginning at Market Place
What: Dante's a shady mofo, fo'real, and he's mentally unstable.

The dark aura around Dante spread out like grotesque wings, slicing through the tranquil air in the haven and leaving behind a heaviness that hadn't been present before. Dante flew through the night on those dark wings with Zach in tow. One hand clasped tight around the boy's smaller wrists as he dragged him through the dusty trails of the cottages. The lycanthrope didn't know where he was going, or what he was going to do with the boy. No - he did know what he was going to do with Zach. He was going to kill him. Gut him from throat to groin, and let his innards spill to the earth. He'd display the empty shell in front of Adrienne's house as a final show of power. How could he resist her then if she saw how weak the alchemist truly was? Surely, she wouldn't.

He was only semi-shifted with sharp claws on his hands, and sharp teeth in his mouth. His shirt was torn with the protruding muscles of his arms, chest, and back. The vertebrae of his back was pushing upward, curving into the lumbering form of the werewolf. His muzzle had yet to form, but the madness in his eyes was already there. It had always been there. Lying in wait for the perfect moment that didn't exist. There was no perfection in this - only insanity and chaos. All of Dante's planning didn't mean a thing when it seemed violence was the only way to make things happen.

He should've known that the only way to get things in life was to take them.

All logic was gone from the man's mind, and he made his way toward the market place without another thought. Dante didn't think of the people he would encounter, or the fact that someone might recognize him. He was a rabid animal running wherever his feet took him. Instinct had taken over, as did madness. Madness must never be overlooked.

He was in the market place before he knew it, and there were eyes on him. Staring at him. Whispering about him. He heard them all, too. It was too much. He growled as loud as he could, a warning to everyone to stay back.

[info]headcouncil
Who: Everyone!
When: Evening
Where: The Arts and Trade Enclave
What: Grand Opening of the Enclave! Elected Vice Council members are announced! Not to mention, there’s a par-tay!

Tonight was the night for the Grand Opening of the Arts and Trade Enclave. After many careful months of renovating the original buildings located near the tip of the northern mountains, it was completed at last. What was once an old village had been turned into an enclave for learning and the arts, which had been deemed important by the Head Council for the community of Elysium. The public lacked a place to pursue their love of the arts and finer crafts, and now it was made possible for them with supplies, teachers, and more. It was one of the finest ideas for the haven’s people. Hopefully, it would come to fulfill the extra needs of the citizens.

As for the party itself, they had gone all out for the occasion. Gold and white ribbons decorated everything from the doors to the windows to the eaves of the roof, and everyone was dressed up for the occasion. Both inside and outside of the building, there were long tables dedicated to serving snack foods and beverages to the attendees. The ballroom was open, serving as a dance floor for the evening with live music, and even the patio beyond was lit by glowing lanterns and a full crowd of mingling people.

The party had been going on for no more than thirty minutes so far when it was time for the Head Council to announce the elected members of Vice Council. The music ceased temporarily out on the patio as the three of them made an appearance on the stage in place of the entertainment for the evening.

“Welcome, everyone!” Dylan announced with a smile. )

[info]beneaththeskin

Who: Katy and Jake
When: closer to mid afternoon, after being released from the medical pavilion.
Where: Around the town cottages
What: exploring the winter wonderland that is Elysium.

Katy walked out into the snow and shivered. When the nightmare of Christmas was finally over and they allowed her to leave the medical pavilion, she promptly went home and bundled up in her warmest coat. She was covered in a thick jacket, leather gloves, and a woolen hat, a different less flashy one since her meeting with Douglas, over her head pulled down over her ears to keep them warm. It had been snowing pretty much all week and had left Elysium looking like a winter wonderland. Katy remembered the first time she saw snow as a teenager in Colorado. She had been excited enough to run out into the fresh powder barefoot. That had been mistake she had not wanted to repeat, but turning into a werewolf on Christmas Eve and waking up in a snowdrift completely naked seemed to have similar notes as to her childhood activitiy, except she had no control over the event. She looke down at her shoes. She was currently wearing some thick soled boots that would protect her feet now at least.

Katy sneezed into her sleeve and rubbed her reddened nose. She hoped she wasn't coming down with a cold.

Snow flurries were still fluttering down from the roof of her cottage as Katy reached down and picked up ball of snow. She patted it compact in her hands and looked around. There weren’t many people outside in front of the cottages. There were abandoned snowmen and intentions in the snow that looked like someone was trying to make a snow angel. She suspected that many of the kids had a moved on to find a hill where they could sled down, or to play with whatever toys their parents had been able to fashion for them. She could still hear the squeals of excitement that were obviously coming from a distance away.

That sounded pretty fun actually.

Katy made her way through the trees watching her breath crystallize into visible moisture. It almost looked like she was smoking without an actual cigarette. She nearly stumbled over a snow drift because she was not paying attention when she came across the pond. Most of it looked frozen over. She looked around and wondered if anyone had tested this part of the pond yet. They had the man-made ice rink in town, but Katy didn't really want to fall on her butt with the whole population of Elysium watching. She picked up a heavy stick and started to poke at the iced over water before she decided to brave putting a foot on the frozen pond.

[info]headcouncil
Who: All werewolves and guests at the barrier
When: Before sunset, and onward
Where: Werewolf barrier, Northeastern forest
What: Full moon and a forest full of werewolves

The falling snow gave a false sense of peace for there was nothing peaceful about the full moon, at least not for those who were its prisoner month after month. The silver orb in the sky, hundreds of thousands of miles away, was the catalyst for the violent change in the lycanthropes. No, the peaceful atmosphere upon the land would only last until the sun sank below the horizon. Then the night would be overcome by the howls from each and every lycanthrope.

The lycanthropes traveled to the enclosure before sunset, most of them dressed in old, worn-out clothing that would get destroyed during their transformation. From afar their trek was reminiscent of a death march, slow, reluctant footfalls through the snow until they reached their destination. Christmas Eve did little to alleviate the foreboding aura that descended like the unending snow.

Tonight, the snow would bleed. Deep crimson seeping through the pristine crystals until it reached the frozen earth. There would be few areas free from the bloodshed, and the carnage. It was the reason the enclosure was needed. It confined the werewolves, and their murderous rage to an area free of humans and praeternaturals. It kept the citizens safe to enjoy their winter holiday while the wolves raced through the trees and underbrush after their prey.

[info]beneaththeskin
Who: Katy and Dante
When: Midday
Where: Around the town cottages
What: A meeting between werewolves

Katy grinned as she dodged snow balls thrown by kids. It really was her own fault that she was getting pummeled with snow. She had entered the crossfire after all. Katy held her camera protectively as she raced by the flying snowballs. She hadn't realized that after the end of the world was the time she'd find herself being a war correspondent. She picked up a loose snowball and chunked it at the nearest kid, although it hopelessly fell apart before making its intended mark. The kids laughed at her efforts before attacking each other again.

Finally she was safely away from the snowball artillery's range. She had come outside to capture images of the snow and people playing it. She turned around and snapped a picture of the kids and ran off before they decided to move closer in and start pelting her with the frozen slush again. She took a picture of a family making a snow man together, and a picture of some girls making snow angels.  It had been a while actually since she had brought out her father’s camera. She found that she had missed it greatly. It was like an old friend, and she needed to finish the roll so she could go ahead and develop the photographs.

Someone suddenly called out, “Watch out below!”

She just nearly missed being hit by a sled on its way down from a bunny hill.  Not that it would have done much damage, but Katy didn’t want bruises on her shins. She walked a little away from the more active areas near the cottages.  When she heard a click from a shutter and the unmistakable sound of a Polaroid camera expelling its film, she turned her head quickly and noticed a man with the camera.

Had it been pointed in her direction? Katy narrowed her eyes in thought. She was wearing a pretty thick jacket, and some close-fitting but warm pants. She also had on a funny knit hat with pompoms hanging down the sides, and one on top of it as well. Her hair was down and curling slightly, but she would hardly consider how she looked at the moment worth taking a picture of.

She grinned and picked up her camera, focusing the lens and zooming in to get a good closer look at the man with the Polaroid.  “Hey there, say cheese!”  She pressed the button down and the picture was now in her camera. It was tit-for-tat as far as she considered.

[info]cursedwithfur
Who: Adrienne and Katy
When: Around 3 PM
Where: Southern Elysium
What: Horseback riding

Working at the stables had given Adrienne a chance to spend more time with Coral, her favorite Elven horse and the one with whom she had bonded with the most. The mare was loving and kind, but also swift and sturdy enough to take on long journeys through the valley. It wasn't until Adrienne had finished her work for the day did she take the horse out for a ride, guiding the mare through to the southern portion of Elysium and toward the entrance to the haven.

The mountains in the South were often covered in mist no matter the time of the year, and the stairs that led down from the cave were often shielded by the mist. But they were visible today, and Adrienne clearly recalled the first time she stepped through the darkness of the entrance to face the entire valley. It was beautiful, and the werewolf had an urge to climb up those steps again. It would be a long way up, but well worth it just to feel her muscles burning from the climb.

She remained on her horse, though, grey jacket huddled tight around her small frame to fend off the chill in the air. Coral neighed a little, shaking her mane as she began to move backward. "What's the matter, girl?" She asked while patting the horse's neck. The horse seemed uneasy for a reason unknown to the lycan. Adrienne looked around a bit, slightly startled when the sound of hoof beats appeared behind her.

When: 12 P.M.-5 P.M.
Where: The doorsteps of the Waterfront Bungalows/Helicharis Cottages.
What: Corisanthias goes door to door to try to garner the peoples votes.

Corisanthias was not quite sure what he was doing, but he had made up his mind and now he was bound to his decision. He had somewhat of a message to relay, which kept running through his head as he focused on not tripping over his own feet. He had been planning on focusing more on the murders that had occurred, but now with the recent Harpy attack he had even less of an idea what to focus on. He hoped at least that when he began to talk to people he might figure out exactly what they were worried the vice-council would take care of.

Which might help him understand a little more what exactly he was supposed to do if he managed to procure a seat on it.

He inhaled deeply and stepped up to the doorstep, hoping he would not make too big of a fool of himself. He had even decided to dress for the occasion, with a T-shirt and a pair of pants which were making him feel severely constricted, but less like a loon. He reached down and tugged on his pants to try to loosen them a little, and with that, he exhaled, put on a rather strained smile and knocked.

ooc: to join in on the festivities, simply comment to the main post. Your entry can be a narrative or open to others. If you are replying to someone else reply to their comment and not to the main post. All activities are open for participation, it is up to your discretion what your character will do.

The sounds of happy parade goers filled the evening air as the citizens of Elysium marched from the town toward the festival near the Ancient Elven Tree. Many of the citizens were dressed in costume, and it was obvious that they had been looking forward to the All Hallow's Eve event. The lively music, provided by the fauns, set the overall tone of the parade. Many of the citizens were singing along to the music, while others whooped and cheered. Their path toward the Ancient Elven Tree was lighted by magical sparklers that never lost their energy, and some citizens even had hand-held sparklers that they waved around happily. Sorcerers enchanted objects to light up the sky like fireworks, while small fairies fluttered around the citizens like fireflies.

Onto the festivities! )

[info]bohemiarhapsody
Who: Sascha and Katy
Where: Training Terrace
When: Mid-afternoon
What: Arrrgh, swash swash buckle buckle XD

Advance, lunge, recover. With no small amount of juvenile humor, Sascha took a moment to acquaint himself with the joys of thrusting.

The sword in his hand was a mostly unfamiliar weight, and he'd already spent a good half hour or so trying to wield his new blade in a manner befitting his costume. It had taken nearly a decade for him to develop the outfit to its full potential, occasionally adding a sash here or some beadwork there. Annie had been alive to see the costume in its original incarnation all those years ago, and her reaction had simply been to grin and tell him he looked like a gay Captain Morgan; that was confirmation enough for Sascha. He was glad he'd thought to haul it here to Elysium with the rest of his mementos.

Normally he'd have been on-shift at the library at this time of day, but since the place had been virtually empty all morning, he'd convinced one of the elven aides to keep an eye on things while he headed out early. His second stop (the first being the restaurant for some lunch, of course) was the weaponsmith's shop, and he'd come away with a beautifully weathered old cutlass to complement his pirate getup. The blade could probably benefit from some sharpening, but Sascha didn't really care- he wasn't intending to slit any throats, after all. He just wanted something (relatively) shiny to make the costume look more authentic.

The Training Terrace had seemed like a logical place to practice his swordsmanship, and it had only taken five minutes of hack-and-slash before one of the trainers from the combat gym had approached him and offered to give him a few fencing pointers. Not that a cutlass was really designed for all the fancy techniques of something like a foil or rapier, she'd explained with a smile and a wink. No, a cutlass was perfectly suited for someone with little experience because of its simplicity of use; hacking and slashing were totally acceptable.

She'd taught Sascha a handful of moves and their accompanying terms, which he was now trying to commit to memory, before leaving him to practice on his own. Ever true to character, he'd curled his fingers over her shoulder and suggested another time and place for some private instruction, to which she'd replied that he'd have to learn how to make a proper thrust before anything could really happen. For the moment, that's exactly what had monopolized his attention. Cross over, lunge, recover. Damn, his thighs were really starting to hurt.

[info]beneaththeskin
Who: Katy (narrative)
When:: Afternoon
Where:: Inside the Tailor's
What:: Looking through the clothes for a costume.

Katie was looking through the pre-made clothing section at the tailor’s shop. She was specifically looking through the Halloween costumes. When she had left on her trip more than a year ago, she had not planned on dressing up for Halloween. So she was lacking in that area. She was actually lacking clothes in general. She had packed a pretty big suit case for her trip, but that wasn’t a normal third of her wardrobe. She’d have to make due and look around for things that suit her decidedly fickle taste.

She pulled out a costume with a red hood and nearly busted out laughing. She could appreciate the irony of dressing up as Little Red Riding Hood considering her situation. It would be pretty funny, but she figured she’d be the only one who would get the joke. She still hadn’t met too many people in this place, let alone made too many friends yet.

She slid the costume back in it place and continued to search. She was not really sure what she wanted to wear yet. Normally for Halloween when she found the right costume she would know. Planning it out beforehand would be too easy and make too much sense. She pulled out a dress with green satin, a black waist cincher, and beige satin cape-let. It was cute, but she wasn’t quite sure what it was supposed to be of, until she looked at the matching accessories. There was a great, oversized green satin top hat with a familiar note with “10/6th” written on it and slipped into the hat’s band.

A female Mad Hatter’s costume. Perfect! Katy had always loved the characters from Lewis Carroll’s famous drug-induced fairy tale. She took the costume off the rack and decided to take it with her. She also found some thick tights in preparation for the weather. Naked legs were sexy, but they were also very cold. She left the tailor’s a very happy girl.

Who: Werewolves and anyone who wants to be outside the barrier
When: Before sunset and beyond
Where: North East of Helicharis (just beyond the Abandoned Elven Palace)
What: The werewolves let loose!
ooc: 1) Start sub-threads in this post by posting the name of all characters involved in the subject and the approximate time of night that particular scene is happening. 2) You can choose how your character arrived at the enclosure. 3) Don't forget to describe the character shifting and what they look like while shifted. 4) Don't forget that the transformation hurts unless you are used to it. 5) Lastly, have fun and go wild with it!

The forests all around Elysium were quiet as the sun began to descend toward the horizon. Animals locked themselves away in their homes, knowing what was to come within the next hour. They would stay there until the morning if they knew what was good for them, otherwise they could become victims for the lycans as they loped around the enclosure set aside just for them.

There was only a slight breeze tonight, bringing with it warm air from the South. The sky was overcast, blocking out the precious moon. But the werewolves didn't need to see the moon in order to feel its power. It wasn't like movies where a cloud traveling across the moon would halt the shifting of the lycanthropes. Nothing could stop their transformations tonight, and nothing would be able to contain the beasts they would become. It was the reason they were kept behind the magical barrier in the North Eastern part of the forest. Orc shamans and their powerful totems would be the guards tonight, using their magic to create the barrier between them and the rest of the haven. The werewolves would come to the barrier before the sun set, and enter its boundaries before they turned into their feral counterparts. Each lycan felt the call of the moon, and each one was waiting for the moment they could be free.

Fifteen shaman would be on guard tonight, using their ancient magic to create the invisible force field. Their power was more than enough to hold the lycanthropes inside. The barrier would keep the citizens of Elysium safe from the hungry lycanthropes until the first rays of the sun arose the next day.

[info]beneaththeskin

Who: Katy and OPEN
When: late morning
Where: wandering around the town
What: Katy's suffering from cabin fever.

Katy practically ran out of her house as made herself go out for a while. She was tired of being cooped up alone in her cottage. The full moon was coming up soon, and she was feeling agitated. The wolf within was excited to be free again soon. Ever since she had been turned it was like having that time of the month, twice in one month.

Homesickness had kept her within the confines of her new house. It was hard to think of that place as a home yet. She hadn't even unpacked most of her stuff, and she had hidden away in the cupboards the mementos and souvenirs that she had bought for her father and brother while traveling Europe. She didn't care about the ranch back in Colorado. She was worried about her father and her brother, whom she wanted to believe were ok. And like always, she constantly missed her mother.

She needed something to calm her nerves. She was used to rise in feral feelings that came with being a were now. Eight years as a lycan, and she still would get jittery when the time got close to the transformation. She wanted a distraction, but Katy hadn't met many people in Elysium yet, which was quite odd for her. In the past she has had many friends, although she kept to herself at certain times of the month like this.

Katy walked by the marketplace and went up to the fresh food stalls. She quickly grabbed a red apple, winked at the vender, and wandered off further. She wove around the archways, in and out as the ate the fruit loving the satisfying crunch. She wore her dark hair down and it swirled around her face. Her energy was high, and she was having fun despite the odd looks she was drawing toward her performance.

She'd probably get herself lost if she kept up her routine, so she stopped and left the food stalls to wander aimlessly around the market place. She pulled on the jacket she had brought with her and slipped her arms into the sleeves as she peeked into the windows of the shops, covering the side of her face with her hands as she looked inside.
