Who: Katrina and Adrienne
Where: Combat Gym
When: Early Afternoon
What: Just a little practice.

More and more often, Katrina had found herself sitting around doing... well, pretty much nothing at all. Thinking back over the last few weeks, she was startled to realize that she hadn't done anything aside from feed, sleep and smoke. Not having any obligations to meet was nice, but it was making the normally active vampire feel rather lazy. After she and Shane had fed, Katrina decided that she needed to do something, and had wandered around town on her own for a well before spotting the combat gym. It had been a well since she'd had any sort of exercise, and she made up her mind to go mess around for a while, just for the hell of it.

Katrina might have a large chunk of time missing from her memory, but that didn't mean that she'd forgotten everything. As soon as she'd picked up one of the practice swords, she'd been positive that she still knew how to use it. It was a relief, and it gave her a little hope - perhaps her mind wasn't as damaged as they'd originally thought. She'd taken blades classes the entire time she'd been at school, and obviously some of it had stayed with her.

It was reliving to swing the sword around, no pattern to follow, no partner to match or anticipate for - it was just her and the blade. Katrina was skilled enough to be in total control, even when it may of looked as though the sword had a mind of its own. It felt good give her body a little work out and build up a little sweat. She could practically feel her mind constricting until the only things she was conscious of were the movements of her body and the sword in her hand. It got to the point where if someone had walked into the room she wouldn't have noticed them unless they said something.

Who: Katrina and Shane
Where: Their room in the cottage
When: Early morning
What: Talking and such.

Katrina had been sleeping in the room she shared with Shane in their cottage. It had become a habit of hers in the months since they'd come to Elysium. Her sleeping pattern had been rather irregular lately, and she found herself sleeping quite often, but it didn't bother her. It wasn't as though she had any real obligations. Add in that things had been extremely strange, what with meeting Zach and having vague recollections of things she thought had been lost forever, and it just gave her another reason to abandon the real world for her dreams. It was just so confusing and overwhelming, and she just didn't know how to deal with it all. Katrina just wanted everything to go back to normal - not that she knew what "normal" even was anymore.

She was laying on the bed, in that stage where she wasn't truly asleep anymore, but quite awake yet either. She could hear Isabelle moving around in her bedroom down the hall, but was not herself inclined to move at the moment. She'd been laying there for only a few minutes when she heard the front door open and quiet footsteps coming up the stairs. Katrina smiled slightly to herself, her eyes still closed. There was only one person it could be.

Shane had just returned from a walk around the southern forest. He had fed a little on some small forest animal, just enough to sustain him for the rest of the morning, until he and Katrina could go feed together, as was their normal habit. He liked walking in the forest, the quiet and peacefulness that came from it all. But he was back now, and he could sense Katrina up in their bedroom. Smiling to himself, he quietly made his way up the stairs.

The bedroom door was open, and Shane leaned against the door frame for a few moments, just looking at Katrina. Her hair was a little tangled and messy, but it looked good on her, in his opinion. He wasn't sure if she was awake or still sleeping, and didn't want to disturb her if it was the later.

Suddenly, Katrina spoke. )

Who: Isabelle and Katrina
When: Early evening
Where: Their cottage

Isabelle had always been a bookworm. In elementary school, when her peers played basketball and hopscotch at recess, she would sit in the library and read. The passing years hadn't changed that aspect of her personality much - she still preferred the company of books and fictional characters to interaction with those around her. This explained why she had been rummaging through her room in search of her copy of Douglas Adam's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy for the last hour or so. She let out a frustrated sigh and ran her fingers through her hair, glancing around her bedroom once more, although she was now certain the object of her search wasn't there.

Slipping quietly out of her room, she walked down the hall lightly to stick her head in the room her sister shared with Shane. Katrina had taken to napping in the afternoons, waking after the sun had made its descent below the horizon. Isabelle pushed the door open a fraction, and poking her head inside, she found her sister sprawled across the bed, her breathing deep and even. She was just about to leave as quietly as she'd come, when Katrina asked in a sleepy voice, "What's up Issy?"

It still brought a smile to her face to hear that nickname from the one person who meant the most to her. "I didn't mean to wake you up," Isabelle answered quietly, not wanting to disturb Katrina's slumber.

But the elder sister simply shook her head, before saying, "No, you didn't." Katrina stretched then, a movement that reminded Isabelle of a cat. She yawned before continuing, "What do you need?" The gesture allowed the younger girl a glimpse of her fangs, but the image didn't frighten her as it had the first few times she'd been aware of them. She knew that Katrina would never hurt her.

"I was looking for one of my books. I can't find it in my room," Isabelle explained. "I was just wondering if you'd seen it."

Katrina rolled onto her side to get a better look at her sister. )

Who: Zach, Katrina, and Isabelle
Where: Library
When: Noonish
What: Trying to regain lost memories.

Zach scribbled down fresh notes into his notebook, copying information from the book in front of him. Even though there weren’t official ‘schools’ here, not yet anyway, his father took it upon himself to charge Zach with homework related to things that Kelsey thought would be beneficial for his son to know. It wasn’t like taking classes because it wasn’t everyday and all of the time, but Zach had to have this essay turned into his father before tomorrow afternoon unless some disaster or tragedy happened that hindered him from finishing it, which was highly unlikely.

The library was fairly quiet at the moment, and Zach was thankful for that small miracle. Otherwise, he wouldn’t get any work done. He really didn’t know how his father would react to him not turning in the essay. Okay, maybe it wouldn’t be that bad, but at the same time, he was used to doing what he was told by now when it came to his father that he just did it without trying to test his boundaries too broadly. Pencil graphite scratched over a clean sheet of notebook paper, reaching his ears above all other sounds — if there were any other sounds. The occasionally book opened or closed, pages flipped, hushed murmurs echoed from far away.

While he scribbled down notes and pondered on his historical essay regarding the establishment of the Republic of China, he hadn’t expected for one moment that anyone would approach him while he had his nose in a pile of really large encyclopedias and history books.

Who: Adrienne and Katrina (with Isabelle)
When: Early Afternoon
Where: In the market place
What: Adrienne unexpectedly sees Katrina and decides to start up conversation

Despite having a rocky start, Adrienne's day was turning out quite nicely and part of that reason was the gorgeous weather that Elysium was experiencing. The lycanthrope had spent the past couple of hours in the market place lingering in and out of the various shops. She had found a few items that she needed, opting to trade for them with the promise of cookies rather than taking just taking them. The shop keepers didn't seem to mind though (they never did), but Adrienne just couldn't take their goods without repaying them somehow, even if it was just through another kind act.

And now she sat upon one of the benches just outside of the clothes shop, just sipping on her fruit flavored drink while watching people as they hurried about the market place. No one could tell she was watching them, though, her dark sunglasses shielded her eyes from their gaze. And so they went about their business without a care in the world, and Adrienne remained content to watch them from her bench. She leaned back and slouched a little, a heavy sigh passing her lips as she felt completely and utterly relaxed.

Adrienne contemplated her random encounter with Simon earlier that day. A part of her equated it to Zach's run-in with Katrina, but she knew it wasn't the same. Adrienne wasn't happy or anything to see Simon and the meeting hadn't left her confused in the least. In truth the only thing that the two incidents had in common was the fact that it was utterly unplanned and unexpected. Adrienne wondered if there was anyone else she knew in Elysium and she had just not run into them yet. It made sense to the brunette that people could be in the same town without seeing each other until four months had passed; Helicharis was a good-sized town, and Elysium itself was a huge land. The odds of running into someone you knew, especially since not everyone left their house everyday was slim.

She sighed again and let her head rest on the back of the bench. The sun was warm upon her face, just a little too warm really and the girl returned her head to face forward. Adrienne sipped her drink again and rested her right arm along the back of the bench. She had contemplated going home before she had to volunteer at the medical pavilion, but the sun was enticing her to stay outdoors just a little bit longer. At least until she was done with her drink.

[info]bloodlusting
Who: Katrina and Zach
When: Midday
Where: Outside her cottage
What: A reunion of old friends... or is it?

It was still incredibly strange, to be able to sit outside in the sun. Katrina couldn't seem to get used to the feeling of the warmth on her skin, the brightness of the sun overhead. She was sitting outside the cottage she shared with Shane and Isabelle, wearing a pair of faded old jeans and a gray tank top, enjoying the peaceful day. She stretched her arms over her head and as she did so, she noticed how the scars in the insides of her elbows sort of glimmered in the sunlight. She brought her arms down, and rested them on her legs, the scars facing up so that she could see them. It was obvious to her that some were newer than others, the oldest faded to almost match her skin color, and nearly invisible to the naked eye. Using her right hand, she gently traced the newer track marks. They were raised and slightly darker than the rest.

Katrina knew that she had been a heroin addict, and that it had messed up her life on more than one occasion in the past. Still, sometimes it was hard to believe that she had done that to herself, especially after having seen what it had done to her parents. Shaking her head, she pulled a cigarette out of her pack and lit it, trying to rid all thoughts of heroin from her mind. There were times she truly hated herself for ever picking up a needle in the first place, but both Shane and Isabelle, the two most important people in her life, seemed to have forgiven her for it. It was more than she deserved, but she was eternally grateful for their kindness. Without them, Katrina would have lost it all a very long time ago.

She took a drag on her cigarette as she stared out at the open space before, her eyes not really catching on anything. She wondered when Shane and Isabelle would return - they'd left earlier in the day, Isabelle to get something for herself to eat and Shane... well, Shane hadn't told her where he was going, but he should be getting back soon enough. That was good, because lately Katrina had been spending more time in his company than not, and it was strange to not be around him.

She let out a sigh before taking another drag off her cigarette, and settled down to wait for their return.
