Who: Mitsuko and Irei
When: Afternoon
Where: The Cafe
What: Mitsuko is working and takes a break for a friend.

Mitsuko's employment at the cafe (and her uniform) had already had an effect on the cafe. It was even more busy than usual during her shifts. The ratio of men to women also shifted greatly.

Currently, Mitsuko was helping a man with his order. He held the menu of sweets in his hand, adjusting his glasses. "I'm not sure I can quite read this..." The man pointed to the bottom of the menu. "Down here."

MItsuko leaned over to look at the menu closely. "That says 'strawberry tart'." She glanced at the man and saw he was looking nowhere near the menu, but more at her breasts.

With a sigh, Mitsuko stood back up. "Okay, if you don't want actual help with your menu, just tell me you want to look at me." She smiled sweetly. "Or..." She hurried off for a moment. She came back with an instant camera. She held it out to him. "You could take a picture of me."

"Really?" The man said eagerly.

Mitsuko held out her hand. "It'll cost you your watch."

"My watch?" The man repeated. "For one picture?"

Mitsuko sighed. "I don't exactly have a trunk full of film here in Elysium. Supply and demand, you know. Come on... You don't want a picture of me?"

After thinking about it for a moment, the man took off his watch and held it out to Mitsuko. She gave him the camera and made a cute pose, slightly bent over and giving him the v sign. There was a flash and the man smiled happily.

Mitsuko took the camera back and briefly looked at the developing photo. She rolled her eyes and gave him the picture. "Is there any thing else? Do you really want dessert?"

"No no, this is good." The man hurried off.

Mitsuko put the camera away again. She knew it would be a good idea to bring that with her to work. But she would have to find a supply of batteries and film, which she wasn't so sure would be easy to acquire. "Pervert. He could have at least taken a picture of more than my breasts."

She turned and grinned broadly when she saw who had just arrived. "Irei-kun!" She said happily.

Who: Dione Castel and Irei Arakaki
When: Afternoon October 26th
Where: Dione's Water Bungalow
What: Irei comes to see a lady about some lessons and ends up teaching a lesson or two of his own.

Dione was quiet as usual, few of her neighbors even seemed to really notice that her bungalow was occupied much less by whom. It was not as though she were the kind to socialize at home. First that would have meant admitting someone into her home. Second she would have to be comfortable enough with them to actually hold a conversation. That made such a thing exceptionally difficult as she rarely seemed to be comfortable with anyone enough to actually talk to them for long periods. It had been nice, however, talking to Duncan at Dr. Wyatt's dinner party. Someone who spoke French as well as she did was a blessing for a girl who couldn't quite get her point across in English.

It was all in her head )

Who: Sascha and Irei
When: Early morning
Where: Sascha and Irei's bungalow
What: Classic rock, pillow talk and the morning after (Irei's birthday, that is)
Warning: Some adult content (i.e. sexual situations) What else would you expect from these two? XD (Sorry for the re-post, I flaked out for a bit there.)

Touch was such an amazingly underrated thing, Sascha mused as he lightly caressed the short strands of hair framing his unconscious partner's face. Of course, Sascha had always been inclined to touch; it seemed as natural a compulsion to him as breathing, though he'd had to teach himself some restraint around other people who might have had stricter boundaries regarding their personal space. As it was, Irei didn't seem terribly fond of the sort of gentle, explorative touching Sascha was currently engaged in unless it was the precursor to foreplay or a reassuring follow-up to the act itself. Or unless he was asleep and therefore completely unaware that it was happening, as the case would be.

They were lying side by side in Irei's bed, which was where they usually ended up after a good round or two of rough sex )

[info]iseedeadpeople
Who: Irei and Aveira
When: later afternoon
Where: The Tiki Hut
What: Wandering and finding a place a little closer than the tavern in Helicharis to get a drink

Why was it always so far to get to the wine bar? Maybe if Sascha and he had decided to live closer to town he wouldn't be having his current problem. He made his way north of his bungalow with his hands in his pockets. He really needed a drink, but the wine tavern was a pretty far distance. Irei just didn't want to walk all the way into town, only to be told to leave at 9:30pm to make it home in time for the curfew. He was so used to being able to stay at bars until about 2am.

Irei kicked at the sand as he continued his slow trek. He wondered if that Tiki bar place where Zane and Amada's wedding reception had taken place was open. It probably was. Would it sell liquor or just fruity drinks? What the hell. He recalled hearing that the place belonged to that guy Loki, Mitsuko's boyfriend. Irei smiled to himself. That man seemed like he was amusing to say the least, and he could always ask for something mostly vodka like a lemon drop or even a beer if there wasn't anything else he liked.

The place was rather impressive for a structure made out of bamboo and umbrellas of dried palm leaves. The setting reminded Irei of some of the resorts one could find along the beach in Okinawa. Okinawa had been hot though. This place wasn't as cold as New York had been, but Irei still couldn't quite get used to it.

He stepped up to the bar, unwilling to take up a table where others were chatting, laughing, and nibbling on appetizers. He probably should eat something to go along with what he drank. He sat down on a stool and ordered a draft beer to start off with. He didn't particularly like the taste of most beer, but he never fooled himself to believe that taste was the reason why he drank.

The foam in his glass spilled over slightly as the bartender handed it to him. He drank and absently reached up to touched the puncture scars left over from the night at the wine bar with the disguised Hayate. Bad things seemed to happen lately when he got drunk. He smiled softly, shaking his head and wondered if he'd meet any other bloodsuckers here.

[info]healingenergy
Who: Emily, Irei and Sascha
Where: Irei and Sascha's water bungalow
When: early evening
What: martial arts lessons. (You know you wanted more of them!)

Emily finished braiding her hair and told Echo that she was off to Irei and Sascha's place and that dinner was ready, but just needed to be warmed up on the stove. She trusted her daughter to prepare dinner for herself and the twins and she knew that the teenagers would rather have the cottage to themselves, if her experience taught her anything. Echo wished her lots of fun and then Emily left the cottage in the direction of the water bungalows. Ever since her talk with Irei, she looked forward to learning self-defense to protect herself just in case anything were to happen.

Who knew what would happen? It was an awful thought and she tried to push it into the back of her mind. She needed to focus on what she was going to do, and seeing Irei... and Sascha... Emily brushed strands of hair that the wind blew across her face and hooked it behind her ear, ignoring the pounding of her heart. The dancing lessons had gone smoothly and if Irei was as good a teacher as Sascha, she was sure to pick up things quite easily. This was encouraging and within long, she found herself in front of the two's water bungalow.

She knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer. Like with previous dancing lessons, Emily wore a sports bra and sweatpants with a light sweater on top to keep herself warm, even smearing some lipgloss on her lips because - well, she didn't know. Appearances were important and she still wanted to look decent as she was going to be in the company of her male friends. She hoped that the two were just as eager to start the lessons as she was, because it was an activity to keep them occupied, after all.

[info]iseedeadpeople
Who: Irei and Diayu
When: midday
Where: market place in Helicharis
What: Trying to look inconspicuous.

Irei walked through the market place with his head down slightly. He wasn’t as impeccably dressed as he normally would be while walking out among people. His hair wasn’t fixed back from his face and he was wearing some rather large sunglasses that helped cover his face. He was still having a hard time facing other people after the scene with Hayate. Irei had been once again faced with people staring at him with what he saw as accusing eyes.

They’ll lock you away again if you aren’t careful.

Irei absently rubbed the onyx bracelet on his wrist with his thumb and forefinger. The action helped him control his sometimes unstable ability to keep control of his powers and was a familiar comfort as well. He hadn’t made use of the dead in quite a while. The whispers from his residential ghost reminded him of that fact.

So why had he come out today? Emily’s visit the day before had forced him to look at himself. Hiding away wasn’t going to help anything, least of all his image. It made Hayate look like he had won, and plus he preferred being around a lot of people. He wasn’t as alone with his thoughts that way. Going out and seeing people was a distraction, and one of the only distractions he was able to find in this place without radios, TVs, or computers.

He stopped suddenly and looked toward the fresh food pavilion. He really should get something to eat. He had skipped breakfast again and knew that it was a bad thing to become used to the feeling of hunger. His addictive personality might catch on to it and then Sascha would once again force him to eat. Perhaps if he got some fruit, an apple maybe, he could quiet his stomach long enough till it was time for dinner.

[info]healingenergy
Who: Emily and Irei
Where: Irei and Sascha's water bungalow
When: mid-afternoon
What: Tea and cookies make get-togethers fun!

Emily closed the door of her forest cottage with one hand and after she had done so, adjusted the plate of cookies in her other. Seeing some of her friends recently, especially so much of Sascha, had her wondering how Irei was doing. It just didn't feel right, not having seen him in such a long time and she had met him first, anyway. There was nothing like eating cookies and relaxing, so that was what she planned to do. Irei seemed like the type who enjoyed calm activities and while he may not eat her cookies, the gesture was still there.

She left Echo washing the floor - one of the lingering chores she had to do for drinking so much. Maybe Emily was too harsh on her for one night of drunkenness, but Emily was so afraid of Echo doing something she'd regret that she couldn't help herself. She didn't want Echo to follow in her footsteps and become a teenage mother, nor was Echo probably the type for that...No worrying about that, Emily told herself as she headed down the path towards the water bungalows. She hoped that Irei was at home because she had no idea what his schedule was.

Irei and Sascha's home appeared on the horizon and her pace quickened. A smile appeared on her face without much thought at all. Emily knocked on the door and waited for anyone to answer. Who could resist an adorable woman with cookies? No one in their right minds, that was certain. Was the flavor right? She hoped so. When the door did open, she held the plate of cookies out for her to see and her grin widened. "Hello! It's been way too long since we last spoke, so I thought some tea was in order," Emily said. "I hope you're doing well." With that, she leaned forward to quickly press a gentle kiss onto his cheek.

[info]i_will_survive
Who: Irei and Zosimus
Where: Behind Irei's/Sascha's home at the bungalows
When: Mid-morning/lunchish
What: Little centaurs certainly get around and their toys turn up in the oddest places.
Note: Started on AIM, but will be continued here in comments.

Chasing after his arrows, shot one by one, Zosimus eventually found himself standing in the grassy field behind the water bungalows. He grinned, recognizing the area as he thundered across the greenery to a tree that his stone head shot in to. He grumbled quietly to his little self as he couldn’t reach at first try. Glancing around, as if he didn’t want to see people watching him, the centaur finally pushed himself up on to his hind legs. Front hooves scratching at the bark, the boy strained to reach the arrow just out of his reach. With a sigh, he backed away and paced in a line, turning after going several steps and walking the other way. All the while his smoky eyes looked over the feathered tip sticking a foot and a half away from the rough tree trunk.

Figuring another try might work, Zosimus was rewarded with his arrow and held it in his young hands. He had two more in his quiver, strapped over his bare back, but he liked this one best. Stringing it in to his bow, the centaur turned blindly as many children did and released after pulling the archery device taught. Thwack. Gasping, Sims’ mouth fell open as he saw the arrow get caught up in a breeze and disappear into a house. “Uh-oh,” the foal mused to himself as he trot up to the building and looked at the window high over his head. He felt terrible and hoped he hadn’t broken anything! If there was one thing he had learned from an old female centaur wandering around their herd, it was that you should be mindful of other life and things.

Now what, he wondered, looking left, right, and behind him. No one; at least not yet. The brunette looked very upset and bit his lower lip, nose scrunching up awkwardly as he thought. “Um. . .” mused Zosimus as he backed away, hair covered hooves stomping over the ground in anxiety. It was a nervous habit of his. Maybe if he went around front and knocked? Hopefully no one was home, he could just sneak on in and get his arrow back. A common thought a nine year old might have—hide all evidence and run.

Irei was only a little more than annoyed. . . )

Who: Everyone!
When: 6:30 PM
Where: The Beach, by The Tiki Hut
What: Zane and Amada's Wedding Reception!

OOC: Everyone is welcome to join the party! Start a new sub-thread to interact with others, or keep an eye out for open sub-threads for you to join! Or if you don't feel like interacting, type up a narrative for your character.

The sun's rays shining out from below the horizon signaled the start of the wedding reception to celebrate Zane and Amada's happy nuptials. The area around Loki's Tiki Hut was set up with festive tiki torches that illuminated the entire area all the way down to the rim of the lake. Each lamp was entwined in green vines and white flowers, and the sand here was also 'planted' with green grass to add to the tropical theme. The tables were decorated with floating candle and flower centerpieces and around each centerpiece were several glass blown wedding favors in the shape of sail boats. Each table also had small boxes of clamshell shaped chocolate for everyone to enjoy.

Soft music lingered in the air and though the night sky was filled with stars some of the fae-folk had enticed lightning bugs to come out and provide romantic lighting above the tables and dance floor. Dinner for the guests was set up buffet style with a variety of foods provided by the restaurant in town. Drinks — alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike — were provided by Loki and his Tiki Hut served as the bar. The ever enchanting Faye Capricia had agreed to the last minute request of providing live singing entertainment for the reception. The dance floor was nothing but the soft sand beneath their feet and, as much as it may have dismayed the bride, even the lake monsters joined in on the festivities as they sang their song and splashed around in the water.

All in all it was a beautiful reception with a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy, and it was the perfect way to spend the evening in the company of friends or with a special someone.

[info]forlornfae
Who: Kaiya and Irei
Where: Irei's bungalow
When: Mid-morning
What: Kaiya stops by to ask Irei about the gift he sent

The morning had been uneventful for Kaiya with the exception of the few birds that had flown into the open window in her room. They were chirping happily, flying about with one another and playing together mid-air. The simple scene was enough to fill the fae with joy. But then Kaiya had found the pretty hat box on her doorstep when she opened the front door. A bright smile formed on her lips and she lifted it up. She shook it like a child would on Christmas morning and then brought it into the house. There was a note on the top and she read it carefully, translating the English words in her mind.

"Shinsuke...?" she said to herself wondering why he had written the note in English. Perhaps he was trying to help her with the language! Yes, that had to be the reason she surmised as she pulled the top off to peek inside. There she found a length of red rope and she pulled it from its container to inspect it carefully. There was nothing special about it, it was just a length of red rope and for some reason it had reminded the necromancer of the fae.

More curiosity filled the young praeternatural and she took the gift and headed down toward the water bungalows. Kaiya didn't rush though, she simply strolled along with the box in her arms enjoying the sights and sounds around her. There was a smile on her face, after all she was going to visit a special friend, and she was going to thank him for his gift, odd as it was. Plus, she wanted to ask him about it. Perhaps there was a specific reason he had given it to her and he just hadn't explained it.

Whatever the reason, Kaiya was going to thank him for the rope. Irei was always thinking about her and giving her gifts and she wanted him to know that she appreciated it. The fae finally reached Sascha and Irei's bungalow and she knocked on the door. Hopefully the necromancer would be there and he wouldn't have minded her visit.

[info]splitimpulse
WHO: Hayate & Danté, and then Hayate & Irei
WHEN: 1:25 PM
WHERE: The Café
WHAT: Hayate's got questions for Danté, and Irei's got questions for Hayate.

In order to track down the person he was looking for, Hayate's first choice of visitation would have been the wine bar. Although, he knew how this early in the day few people would have even been there. In fact, it was probably closed right now. The second best guess of where he might find Danté lied at the café, a commonplace hangout for many people whenever they wanted to just relax or enjoy the outdoor setting with a cup of coffee or a small snack from the café's selection. Considering he believed he wouldn't find his answers at the man's residence, he preferred approaching the person himself and asking some much more direct questions.

Hayate took his own seat at one of the tables, remaining vigilant of his surroundings until something caught his attention. At first, there had not been a single sight of the man he sought, only the usual crowds of heads around him. Families enjoying time together, or couples basking out in the sunlight and nice breeze. Time began to pass, and he grew tired of the sights. It wasn't until around one in the afternoon when he spotted the man with fiery red hair. Perhaps it was a shade of brown mixed in with red, but with the way it appeared to Hayate, it was red. For once, Hayate noticed how it gave the man a sinister look. A look other people might not have noticed, if only because they didn't understand Danté as he did from their one meeting together. It was only one meeting, and yet Hayate could tell a lot about him from it alone.

Excusing himself from his table, he made his way through the array of people with his own coffee cup in his hand until he reached Danté's table. Hayate sat down easily at a chair across from the other man, who was currently reading a book. There was a coffee in front of Danté, and sunglasses shielded his eyes from the sun. Hayate acted like he had simply been invited over and was joining the other man for lunch. The vampire didn't need a real invitation. He had made his own invitation, a gesture that Danté would understand without explanation.

With his cup full of blood instead of coffee, Hayate easily took a sip of it and placed it upon the tabletop. "Not intruding, am I?" he asked lazily, calmly surveying the other man across from him. It was only an assumption, but it seemed like an assumption with weight, and so Hayate stood his ground and did not leave. If Danté was responsible for this particular . . . incident, then Hayate wanted to know and deliver the man a fair warning himself. Stay away from the girl, but even saying something as plainly as that could have repercussions. He shouldn't let Danté know about the girl. A more careful plan would be to warn him about something else, make it seem like he was helping the other man out instead of hindering him.

After all, Hayate understood how men like Danté worked on the inside. He should know. He was one of them.

[info]nosuchthings
Who: Eliza and OPEN TO MANY!!
Where: Just NE of the town in a grove of trees
When: Starts early in the morning (around 8 AM) till Sunset
What: Grape crushing to make wine

The festival for the Autumnal Equinox was only a week away and the most important part of the celebration had yet to be completed. Oh there were loads of decorations that had been made by the fauns in the forest. Games and activities had been set up by the centaurs and minotaurs and other volunteers, and there had even been preparations for special performances to be held that night. But there was one thing that was needed above all else...

Wine.

Beautiful, glorious, blissful and intoxicating wine. Fauns could make the most magnificent wine in all of Elysium but one thing hindered them from doing so. Their hoofed feet and furry lower body kept them from crushing the grapes and extracting the juice necessary to begin the fermenting process. But their years on the planet had taught them that others unlike them, others like humans and fae and sprites and other nature-dwelling creatures could crush the grapes and were more than happy to do so.

And so this year the fauns of Elysium had asked the beautiful and enchanting gypsy witch, Eliza, to be their mistress of ceremonies. She was to begin the celebration by being the first to step foot into the huge tub of grapes. She had first chosen to remove all of her clothing for this rite, and had to step into specially treated water in order to cleanse her legs and feet before she could crush the grapes. All were welcome to join her, there was plenty of room in the wooden basin enough to fit at least another dozen or so people. If they were not comfortable with nudity they could wear a sheer, white shirt that covered them down to mid-thigh. Men were also allowed to participate as well, but those with excess hair on their legs were not allowed unless they agreed to shave. Fauns were prepared to shave and cleanse their legs before they entered the basin, if so.

Eliza enjoyed her nudity and the free expression of her sexuality. She had taken off every bit of clothing except her panties and was reveling in the feel of the grapes underneath her feet. Hopefully others would join her in this joyous rite that would last for the remainder of the day.

ooc notes:
  • The cleansing rite includes scrubbing toes and feet and washing off legs from the knee down in specially treated water. Clothes must be removed in order to participate, but you do have the option of wearing the sheer, white shirt that the fauns have made for the occasion and keeping small undergarments on.

  • You do not have to stay in the thread for the entire time. Just post the time you enter the thread in the subject line. Also, you can assume that there are other NPCs in the basin with Eliza so your character won't be the only one in there with the naked gypsy.

[info]nosuchthings
Who: Emily & Echo Planck, Chris & Charlie Jung, Irei Arakaki, Sascha Connolly, and any visitors!
When: Morning
Where: The Plancks' cottage and Irei & Sascha's bungalow
What: An ominous tune lingers in the air despite the sunny and cheerful morning.

The early morning hours started off as peacefully as any other. Birds were greeting the new day with their song, the lake monster was swimming happily in the water, and Helicharis was beginning to bustle with activity. And yet despite the seemingly happy atmosphere something was amiss. It was hard to pinpoint exactly, possibly because the occurrence was so isolated that no one noticed unless they happened by the places on accident.

How often did citizens travel by the waterfront bungalows or the forest cottages anyway? Would they have noticed or even paid attention to the dolls that were outside one particular bungalow? Would anyone think to look inside the darkened window of a nearby cottage to see the dinner party that was already underway? No… no one would look or pay attention. And yet perhaps they should have.

OOC Note - There will be sub-threads for each location and those involved will need to reply to the appropriate sub-thread. Please note that these ARE open for anyone passing by or just visiting the residents in each location. Remember, have fun with it and do whatever you want with it! There is no specific outcome or reaction that needs to be had ^^

[info]iseedeadpeople
Who: Irei and Rion (OMG! I’m so sorry this took so long to get written! Forgive me! ;_; )
When: 11:00 AM
Where: Helicharis, near the sweet shop
What: In between deliveries

Irei squinted up toward the sky as the sun's rays cascaded down to his face. He shaded his sensitive eyes from the sun with his hand and shook his head slightly. It had been the first time he had ventured out of the bungalow since the incident at the wine bar and he felt painfully sober since that experience.

He had just come from slipping the drawing he had swiped from Logan's sketch book under Kaiya's door. He smiled a little at his own mischief. Perhaps this would be the push that Logan needed just to meet the little fae. Surly the little halfling would be better for her than that blond man.

His current errand was taking him into the business section of the town. This was the worst time of year for his friend Sascha, so he decided to get him something that might cheer him up. Irei probably would never go to the sweet shop for much else. Sascha had a much bigger sweet tooth than Irei had.

Irei looked away from the sky and put his sunglasses back on covering his oddly blue eyes. His shoulder still hurt, but it was obvious that it was getting better. He should probably go to the medical pavilion, or perhaps go see if Emily could do something for him. He really didn't want to upset her though, and a sick, perverse part of him wanted to keep the mark in between his shoulder and neck.

He stood outside the sweet shop and looked at the display window of sugary sweets and decadent chocolates. Irei had never liked sweets that much himself. It must have been one of the reasons why he was so thin. He had tried some when he was younger and it had made him sick. He tended to avoid them now. He preferred eating fruit for his sweet fix.

Irei slipped his hands in his pockets and looked thoughtful. He wasn’t quite sure what he wanted to get for his friend yet.

[info]foxylady
Who: Mitsuko and Irei
When: Morning
Where: Irei and Sascha's place
What: Talking about what happened

Mitsuko was still feeling horrible. The decision of her innocence was still in the air and that kept her emotions frayed. The reappearance of her mother had shaken her to her core. There seemed to have been a separation in her and her friends. She hadn't seen Echo or Adrienne or Shigeru. Nico was still a judgmental asshole. And Irei...

Well, Irei was why Mitsuko was by the Waterfront Bungalows. She hadn't spoken to the necromancer in days. Not since... Well, not since that night. She could still remember the feel of his lips against her, the desire in her body, the guilt that had swelled up immediately afterwards.

She needed to talk with Irei about what happened. At least apologize for running away from him the way she did. Make sure he knew.... Something.

Mitsuko raised her hand to knock on the door. But she hesitated, unsure of what to say. While Mitsuko was usually fearless, everything about the current situation had shaken her. She was no longer sure what she was supposed to do.

[info]nosuchthings
Who: Caitlin, Cara-Jane, Irei and Sascha
When: early afternoon
Where: by the freshwater lake
What: Swimming fun.

"Come on, Cara-Jane, you can't possibly think that Spiderman is sexier than Wolverine," Caitlin said. "Hugh Jackman is infinitely more delicious than Tobey Maguire. There is something not right with that boy's face. His nose, and his face... I think they just don't work together." Besides, Jackman was manlier and more muscled, which she definitely appreciated more. Caden was also more of a Wolverine fan, which annoyed Cara-Jane to no end.

"Yeah, but Hugh Jackman's older and his nose is weirder than Tobey's. And he's definitely does not have prettier eyes. I like the taller, leaner kind of man," Cara-Jane remarked. That was obvious given the boyfriends she had in the past and her current infactuation with Irei. It hadn't just been the alcohol driving her; the man was alluring, after all. As for her conversation with Caitlin, her poor sister was deluded. They headed towards the freshwater lake where the two wanted to have a swim despite the weather being a little chilly for it and just a little less than an hour, they saw it on the horizon.

Cara-Jane adjusted the wrap around her waist a little and looked towards the shoreline of the lake, where she saw two figures. Curious, she walked closer and saw Irei with someone she didn't recognise. Introductions would come later, but first her pace increased and she ran towards Irei, wrapping her arms around his neck and giving him an enthuastic kiss. "Hi there," she said. "Long time no see. I missed you." She glanced at Sascha and stepped back. "It's nice to meet you. My name is Cara-Jane."

[info]splitimpulse
Who: Hayate and Irei . . . with a special appearance by Danté.
When: 11:00 PM
Where: Wine Bar
What: The vampire comes out to play. With a bit of glamour magic.
WARNING: *cough* Mature sexual content. Between two men.

He could not say what possessed him to do so on this particular night, but the vampire gazed forward into the reflective glass in the washroom at the wine bar. Outside of the door, he could hear the rambunctious laughter and going ons of the drunken people beyond. Yes, it was a Sunday night, and yet still the party raged on just as it had the night before. Having just been a part of it as his normal blond self, the vampire had a bit too much to drink and excused himself to the washroom. This was not regular wine he had been drinking, though. No, there was something special about this wine, something stronger about it; it coursed through his veins like liquid fire, and he felt like he was burning . . . burning exquisitely all over in a fire that engulfed all of his flesh and caused a thin sheen of sweat to gleam on his skin.

What made this wine so special? Hayate did not know, but they were trying to get him drunk and he laughed and said it was not possible. They asked why, and he told one of the men he was vampire. One of the women laughed then, and she removed a pouch from her dress. She said nothing of the substance, offering a coy smile to Hayate and announcing she would retrieve a special pitcher of wine just for him. When she came back, Hayate drank of the new wine without asking. The taste . . . different. Flavor like lava, like robust tenderness, spiced up with . . . with what? Hayate laughed and did not know, nor did he care. He drank of the wine and allowed himself to become intoxicated by the liquid, the first time in a long time that it had such an effect on him.

Staring into the mirror now, Hayate closed his eyes and tilted his head back. The magic tingled beneath his skin, slowly altering his appearance as he imagined a new look for himself. The blond hair grew longer, falling over his shoulders, and darkening itself to a soft brown color. His skin smoothed out, giving him the false appearance of youth. Youthful color flushed his face. Opening his eyes, they too had taken on a new color. Brown, as they had once been in his earlier years. Their true tone.

Hayate grinned slowly. No, he did not look like anyone in particular, although there was a strong resemblance to another in the town — but he was still just a boy, not a man, and would not be in here on this night. All that mattered was that he no longer looked like himself, or they might refuse to offer him anymore drinks. He touched his cheek, watching the hand in the mirror raise fingers to graze them over the reddened skin. His tongue ran over his teeth, and he left the washroom, moving back into the bustling crowds beyond. Somewhere there was music playing, and his body swayed slowly with the tune, seeing colors that even as a vampire he had never seen before. Reaching out a hand, he took another glass of wine — wine that belonged to somebody else, not that he cared. A white grin flashed at the person as he took it and turned away, gulping down the drink and allowing it to flow over his tongue and down his throat.

Wine had never tasted so sweet as it had in that moment. What had that woman given him? Hayate wanted to know; it was a new substance, begging for his addiction. Turning back around, the vampire returned the glass he had taken. There was a look of pure pleasure on his face as his head rolled back, exposing a fine neck. If only he was still mortal . . . he would make a perfect snack.

Who: Irei and OPEN (Come on! It’s too quiet!)
When: around noon
Where: the Café
What: hanging out at the café, people watching, and trying not get blown away

Irei sat outside the café at a small table drinking some hot tea. The weather had turned chilly from yesterday and Sascha's gloomy mood was bringing him down. Him, the necromancer! Everyday it grew closer to September 11th, Sascha seemed to retreat further and further inward. Irei knew better than to try something like cheering him up. What can you say to a man who lost his family, his happiness, within just one day.

Irei sighed and looked down at his half eaten food. That was also becoming more common lately. Irei normally left food behind on his plate (only to take home in a take out box which always ended with Sascha eating the leftovers).

He hadn’t been interested in sitting around the bungalow with Sascha’s mood hung in the air bringing him down as well. Irei had donned an oversized sweater against wind chill. He hated the cold, but the wind had made his outing a bit more interesting.

Irei had watched people, especially young women, pass by on their way to the food stands, or going shopping in the market place. Irei particularly enjoyed watching the girls who had dared to wear skirts on such a windy day. He observed as the wind pulled the swirls of fabric in just the right way to either plaster it against the back, or front, of their legs, or to lift the skirt up entirely as if in homage to Marilyn Monroe herself.

Irei took a sip from his now lukewarm tea and thought about the previous days’ events.

Who: Sascha and Irei
Where: Town Hall- Dungeon
When: Early morning
What: Sing, little jailbird! (SNIPPET and musical interlude)

Irei sat on the little cot that was pushed up against the wall. He hadn't slept at all during his nightlong stay in the cell. He stared up at the stone ceiling and couldn't help thinking how medieval his situation was.

He tilted his head back and shut his eyes as a song came to him that he had heard on the radio back when he was living in New York. He couldn't remember all of the song but he could recall the chorus, and sang aloud to the music in his head, not caring that his voice was bouncing and echoing off the walls of the stone structure. "Oh mama, I'm in fear for my life from the long arm of the law. Hangman is coming down from the gallows and I don't have very long..."

Sascha followed the Elven guard along the corridor to the area where the holding cells were located, sighing in annoyance at the whole situation. He'd already paid a visit to the dungeon the previous evening when he'd learned of Irei's whereabouts, and after a prolonged discussion with several of the staff members at Town Hall, he'd reluctantly returned home without his roommate. He still wasn't entirely clear as to why Irei had been imprisoned in the first place, but since the other man was set for release this morning, Sascha wanted to be sure he was there for whatever moral support his friend might need- and to rub in the fact that Irei had landed himself behind bars, of course.

Sascha smiled as they approached the cell in which Irei was being held, shaking his head as the ending notes of the other man's song faded slowly into silence. He pursed his lips and began to whistle "I Fought the Law," an answering tune that he knew would have the desired effect. After all, Irei was familiar with The Clash and their music; he'd get the message. And Sascha never passed up an opportunity to tease his friend.

Irei's ears perked up at the whistling of the familar song.  )

Who: Irei [Narrative]
When: Around Noon
Where: His shared water bungalow
What: Working on a gift and not eating.

Irei stood in his room and pulled down a box from the top of his shelves. The box wasn't too much bigger than a shoe box and the contents rolled and moved across the bottom surface as he moved it to his small desk. He opened the lid and started to remove some tools and black onyx beads. He set them down on the table and sat down in his small chair and started to string them together.

Irei had started collecting onyx beads and jewelry after he had met his mentor. His sensei had been very superstitious. Onyx stones are said to protect the wearer by taking their place in dangerous situations. You know it has done it’s job if you can’t find the stone or if it cracks. He had found on several occasions this had been the case for himself and that’s why he only wore onyx. The stones also increase concentration and focus energies so he used them when performing necromancy.

He continued beading the necklace to the appropriate length and fitted it with a clasp. It had been more than a few days since he had spied on Kaiya and Hayate on their date and a lot had seemed to have happened since then. Dead animals, birthdays, pretty girls, stolen artifacts, and he had even been questioned by the head council and then they threw him in the dungeon. Apparently being evasive with answering questions did get you somewhere, just not where you really want to be. He had found little time to finish this project. He found a box and wrapped up the present and attached a note to it.

There was nothing left but to deliver the present. He hoped Kaiya would wear it. He sighed. He didn’t want to think about why he cared about the fae girl so much, but he had admitted to himself that she reminded him a bit of his mother. The good parts of her that he remembered at least and he didn’t want to watch her be torn down by a cruel man like his father had been to his mother.

Irei grabbed the present and went out of the bungalow, heading into town with a lit cigarette in between his lips.
