[info]constantguard
Who: Constance and Adam
When: Nighttime
Where: The Alexie Cottage
What: Talk of separation of alchemist and elemental.

Constance was beginning to feel it in her bones. Age was catching up with her despite the carmot, and her body had long been worn out before she had begun to take the mineral. Though she wasn't getting physically worse, her mind was fraying at the edges and it would only be so much longer before she stopped the use of carmot altogether.

She wanted to talk to Adam about it and let him know now was as good a time as any to consider the ritual needed to separate them. After all, she wasn't getting any younger and she wasn't going to subject Adam to her fate. The two of them were seated in the living room, and Adam's face showed his worry since he wasn't sure what Constance wanted to talk to him about, even though he knew it was serious. "What is it?" Adam finally asked, breaking the silence.

Constance sighed heavily. "Adam, I'm getting old," she said. "I'm tired, and I'm weary. I don't know how much longer I want to take the carmot."

She could see the confusion on his face. Adam wasn't sure how to react, but another part of him understood her choice. While he could have acted like a child about it, he knew this was serious and it wasn't his decision to make. "So," he began in a quiet voice, "what does that mean?"

"It means we need to talk about our options when it comes to separation."

It was a single sentence, but it conveyed everything she needed to say to him. Constance looked over at Adam, and she saw the warring emotions on his face, but she also saw the acceptance deep in his eyes. He always knew this day would come, and they would have to face it together. They would die together, or they would separate the bond between them and leave Adam free of her. It would come down to one of those decisions, and Constance knew Adam didn't want to leave this world he had come to love so soon. Not when he was just beginning to understand it.

"Okay," Adam murmured, and it was all she needed to hear.

"I'll get some tea," Constance said, getting up from the couch. "When I get back, we'll talk." She made her way to the kitchen, patting Adam's shoulder as she walked by him. It was going to be a long night, and a little hot tea wouldn't hurt to help pass the time.

Who: Devin, Constance, Theora and Dylan
When: Afternoon
Where: Town Hall
What: Devin tells some important information

Oh the world was fucking ending. Usually Devin just let things be, but he found himself cursing quite a few times while he headed to the Town Hall. He never really said hello to anyone as per usual while he made his way down Helicharis and to the area. He figured he better smoke as many cigarettes as he could because he had gotten in trouble for smoking in the area before and he had no idea how long it was going to take once at the Town Hall.

When he arrived he let his voice ring out. “Hello?” He was so out of there if no one was there and he was letting his conscious fall back to the pits of hell. “Hello?” Christ, there were people there. He cleared his throat as he began to speak to the three people he encountered. He wasn’t one for being intimidated, so he spoke up.

“Listen. I have something important to say. You make appointments? If you do, then I’ll probably not want to talk to you. But if you have time now, you’d be making my day. Oh! And thank you for nominating me. I still need to get my ass moving on that.” He smiled quite normally and found a seat nearby to make himself comfortable.

Who: Elijah and Constance
When: Afternoon
Where: Van'taurë Lake
What: An unexpected reunion

Elijah hadn't ventured toward the saltwater lake in his entire time in Elysium. He was naturally drawn towards water, but the freshwater lake suited his needs just fine and he didn't feel inclined to venture further. But the elemental felt his needs growing, and his sense of adventure had been tugging him toward the other large body of water in the haven.

He had procured a horse from the stables, and set out for the lake at a leisurely pace. Elijah wasn't in a hurry to get there, and though the sky was overcast and the land was turning browner by the day, Elysium's countryside was still a beautiful sight to behold. The horse that carried him whinnied in content, trotting along the paths that had been made by previous travelers. Elijah pulled on the reigns gently, bringing the horse to a stop when they reached the lake.

"You've got to stay here," he spoke to the horse, tying the animal to a nearby tree. Elijah immediately turned toward the lake and began to walk out upon the surface of the water. He continued out over the body of water, looking down at the creatures that started to approach the surface due to his presence. They were curious, as animals normally were, but that was the extent of the interaction. Elijah could talk to them, of course, and he was having interesting conversations with the marine life that came to the surface. He stood atop the water, arms held out to his sides in a manner that suggested he was balancing upon something. He wasn't, and he was merely being playful as he spoke with the animals.

"You don't say..." he said with a grin. "The squid ate the entire thing!" He laughed, not noticing that someone had appeared on the shore and was staring right at him.

[info]headcouncil
Who: Dylan, Theora, and Constance
When: 8:00 AM
Where: The Wellspring, located in Town Hall.
What: Dreadful news has reached the Head Council regarding the havens in The Bahamas and Norfolk Island . . .

After discussing the harpy attack yesterday, the council all agreed upon the reason for it lying within the trespassing youths a few days ago. Harpies were not known for their pleasantness, and Theora would go to the harpies and speak with him in hopes to calm the animals not to trespass the dwellings outside of their mountains if it was promised no more of their kind would trespass in the harpies' territory. They were territorial creatures and reason was not much within their capabilities. However, the High Priestess would hopefully be able to speak reason to them.

Now, they all stood before the Wellspring. It was an elaborate fountain made of ten basins, an Elven construction of communication between the havens. In the largest basin, the water would capture the image and voices of Elysium's Head Council and allow other havens to see them and hear them speak. Surrounding the largest basin were nine smaller basins, though all were large enough to reflect the faces of the council members from all around the world. Two of the smaller basins, however, were empty and had no faces to reflect.

"So," Dylan concluded out loud as all of the discussion came to a sudden silence over the councils, "The Bahamanian haven is not here tonight, and Norfolk Island has been silent for almost a month — and we have no idea what has happened to either one of them."

"We have not heard from The Bahamanian haven for two weeks," a councilman of Sri Lanka announced anxiously. "All communications have been silent across the board. This we have already discussed," he said urgently.

“We should send scouts, each haven,” a councilwoman of Mai-Ndombe suggested. “We may find out what happened.” )

[info]headcouncil
WHO: Open to anyone who wants to attend.
WHEN: Just after sunset.
WHERE: Northern Forest, near Van'taurë Lake.
WHAT: Faye and Kaiya's funeral.

Funerals in the most common fae tradition involved simple pyres to burn the bodies of the dead. It was an old tradition used to hide the bodies of the deceased, even in death, from the eyes of prying outsiders. Humans became known for ruining sacred ground by building their cities upon them or digging up the dead and, especially as time worn on, cremation became commonplace for most fae communities in the last few centuries. At Faye and Kaiya’s funeral, two elaborate pyres had been constructed in their honor near Van'taurë Lake.

The funeral began as a march. All those who attended walked a path from the edge of the forest to the location of the pyres by the lake. The journey to death had to be taken by all, and the crowd walked together with the people carrying the bodies of the deceased upon wooden carriers.

The colors of death were draped over their bodies. White was the color of death. Each woman wore a white dress, a white sheet draped over the lower half of their bodies, and white veils placed over their faces. Each of them held a bouquet of white sweet pea flowers in their hands. White poppy petals littered their dresses and the sheets over them.

When the march finally ended, they arrived at the pyres and stood at attention close to the lake. There were no seats. Faye and Kaiya were taken to their respective pyres and carried up to the top of the complicated structures. There, they were placed, and those who took them up the pyres returned to the ground. A song was sung by a choir of faes as the pyres were lit. All that could be done was to watch the fires rise up the pyres as attendees paid their respects by aiding the deceased into the afterlife with their presence.

Who: Travis and Adam (with an apperance from Constance)
When: Noon-ish
Where: Starts at Constance/Adam Cottage
What: Oh well halo call me Mr. Nielsen ;D

If you’re going to the Market and you’re coming all the way from the damn Water Bungalow’s, there is no way in hell that you shouldn’t try and find something else to do other than buy some food then call it quits. It wasn’t like a walk across the street. While talking to his daughter was a good chunk of time worth the walk back, Travis still wanted to stay in Helicharis. So why not meet some of the people in the area?

Of course, when the fire mage told his daughter he was going to pay the towns people a visit, she had come up with the dare that he knock on a random door and tell the person he encountered whatever came to mind. He wasn’t one for saying no. Besides, who the hell cared? He lived nowhere near the Town Cottages. He doubted he could get in serious trouble for being a jackass.

So, on went his journey to find a cottage that struck his fancy. “Boring, Boring, Boring. God, don’t you people do anything with your houses?” Some people’s exterior design needed some serious looking at. This was going to be their residence for perhaps life for Christ sakes, do something with it. At least put on some sort of address or something.

Finally, after what seemed to be three hours, a house caught his interest. Travis tilted his head as if he was trying to figure out why the hell the house was so intriguing to him. He quickly waltzed to the door and knocked. During the period while he was waiting for someone to answer, he was thinking of a role he could bullshit.

Who: Adam and Constance
When: Late Evening
Where: The Alexie Cottage
What: Constance just can't catch a break, can she?

Adam's world had been turned upside down for the past few weeks as he dealt with the murder of Simon Myles and the suffocating weight of not being able to talk to anyone about it. His feet were leading him back home, back toward his cottage shared with Constance. He needed to talk to someone about it, and the only person he could talk to about it was the very person who had put him into this compromising position.

He opened the front door just in time to see her walking from one room to another. Constance paused in mid-walk, a book held aloft in one of her hands. She paused suddenly, staring at Adam as he stood in the doorway. Silence passed between them as he stared back at her. Finally, Adam stepped into the house and let the door close quietly behind himself.

“Hello,” he ventured to say. One little word, but it took so much effort to get him to say it. )

[info]constantguard
Who: Constance and Adrienne
When: Late Afternoon
Where: The Alchemy Labs
What: Adrienne comes to tell Constance of the silver mirror.

Having fully recovered from the full moon, Adrienne made her way over toward the alchemy labs to visit Zach's grandmother. Adrienne enjoyed talking with Constance. The older woman always had good advice to give, and she was so easy to talk with. Even though she was Zach's grandmother, Adrienne felt that same sort of bond with the woman even if she wasn't related by blood.

But Adrienne's visit with the alchemist this afternoon was for a specific purpose rather than a general visit. She needed to talk to the woman about the strange gift she had received, and the possibility that it was someone in the haven (particularly Simon Myles) who had sent it to her. Adrienne didn't want to fathom that the other werewolf was obsessed enough to pull such a dangerous stunt, but there was no one else who would have done it. At least, not that Adrienne could think of.

The werewolf shifted the package she carried in her arms, holding it instead in between her right arm and her side. She wanted to show Constance the item in question, and maybe even give it to her for safe keeping. Being part of the Head Council, Constance was the only person Adrienne felt comfortable speaking with about the issue. There was Dylan, and Theora, and they were both great, but Constance was practically family and it seemed only right that she talk to her. Adrienne had already spoken to her father and Jason, and they too agreed that the gift was too serious of an event to not report to the Head Council.

Adrienne climbed the steps up toward the alchemy labs. She walked down one of the long hallways, passing the empty laboratory rooms and heading toward the offices. She found Constance's room easily, and she peeked around the frame while knocking on the wooden door. "Hi," she said almost shyly before she stepped into full view. "I wanted to come by and talk with you about something." Adrienne was always very straight forward about her intentions; there was no point in beating around the bush, especially when it concerned things of great importance. “May I come in?” )

Who: Giles and Constance (You can’t escape meeeee!!! But yell at me if this isn’t okay :3)
When: Mid Morning
Where: The Restaurant
What: Giles interrupts someone’s breakfast

The best part of Elysium was that there wasn’t a Starbucks on every corner. Apparently towns looked ultra cool if there were two story coffee shops that charged you five dollars for coffee because people couldn’t get off their own asses and make it on their own. Damn Italy for creating a monster. But bless Elysium for no more Crapuccinos.

Today Giles felt like a lazy ass himself because he didn’t feel like cooking something himself. But he was trekking all the way to Town to check out what the restaurant had to offer. From what he had heard the food wasn’t as bad as what his expectations were leading towards. He was thinking aged oatmeal and fresh squeezed orange juice at best. But as he neared the place, the smell proved otherwise.

When Giles was inside his head moved around slowly to inspect what people were eating. He stole an apple off a couples’ table and wiggled his brows. “Don’t worry. In about a day or so you’ll have it back.” He took a bite and began to search for a place to sit. He didn’t want to sit with anyone honestly but the damn place was packed. Didn’t people..oh he didn’t know. Have lives? Didn’t they want to stay inside and snuggle?

Giles found a woman perhaps older than him sitting by herself. Hm, pretty hot for her age. Ten points for planning on invading her privacy. Without asking he sat across from her and propped up his feet. “Busy day here. Makes me hope half of these people don’t live in the Forest cottages. They’re annoying.” He took another bite from his apple and then put the fruit occupied hand to the side. “Oh, I’m sorry. Is this seat taken?”

Where: Town Hall
What: A town meeting to cover the generators, Vice Council positions, and the All Hallow's Eve preparations.

Theora waited for the gathered crowd at Town Hall to settle down before she approached the podium. The priestess cleared her throat, a subtle way to quiet the crowd, and smiled at everyone when the talking finally died down. She took her place in front of the citizens, a calm radiance coming from her being. “Thank you all for attending our meeting this evening,” she began. “We have many things to discuss tonight, all of which are very pertinent to you, the citizens.”

There were a couple of things that would not be mentioned... )

Who: Adair and Constance
When: Night
Where: The Temple
What: Adair comes to the temple to find peace..and finds a friend

Temples. Places of silence, peace, tranquility and all that shit-right? Adair and everyone inside had better hoped so. With a headache as bad as the one he had now and with no meds of the legal and illegal kinds working he was going old school. In the movies the temples always seemed to work. Of course that was the movies, this was the real life.

It took him forever to find the temple’s location. His feet were sore, his pack of cigarettes was nearly empty and his headache was pounding to the pattern of his footsteps. “For the record.” He stated to no one. “I don’t do this shit normally.” He put out the cigarette dangling from his lips and headed inside.

The temple was enormous and he stood by the doorway to admire the interior for a moment before he walked down an aisle, touching the wood benches along the way. What was he to do? Go to the alter, pick a bench? This was like church where he felt like a moron being inside either way. Hey! Maybe the closer he sat, the better chance he had of the headache from hell going away.

He went close to the alter and concentrated on his headache going away, not the headache itself. After several minutes..nothing

“Oh fucken’ hell. I’m doomed to die from a headache. I’d screw a gorgon for a Vicodin.” He covered his mouth and looked around. “I’ll say five Hail Mary’s for that.” He whispered.

Who: Constance and Adam [Narrative]
When: Early Morning
Where: The Alexie Cottage
What: The truth finally comes out into the open.

"Adam!" Constance called up the stairs, craning her neck back to see up. "It's time for breakfast! Come down here and get something to eat!" He hadn't been eating as much as he used to ever since Simon's death, and Constance was worried about him. Adam wasn't talking to her, and it wasn't like him not to talk to her. She shook her head, unsure of what was going on with the boy, and made her way back into the kitchen.

Everything was already laid out nice and perfect. The only thing missing was the fact that Adam wasn't down here and seated ahead of time as usual. Constance began cleaning up, washing, and putting away everything she used for cooking breakfast this morning. When she was done, Adam had finally come down the stairs. She turned around to look at him, drying her hands off with one of the kitchen towels. Adam stood in the entrance of the kitchen and just stared uncertainly into the room. "Well?" Constance finally asked him, raising her eyebrows. "Aren't you gonna sit down and eat?" His behavior was getting stranger and stranger by the minute.

"No," Adam said, his voice so quiet it was barely discernible. He shook his head as he looked somewhere on the kitchen floor. "I don't want to eat this morning."

“Do you think you own me?” Adam shot back. )

[info]foxylady
Who: Mitsuko, Frar and Fror (and later the Council)
Where: Helicharis Marketplace
When: Afternoon
What: Mitsuko's gonna get answers this time

Mitsuko was out in the marketplace, looking scrupulously over some freshly caught seafood from Van'taurë Lake. She was in the mood to make sashimi. While Mitsuko was not good at a lot of cooking, she was quite skilled when it came to serving up raw dishes. It was not really lack of talent, but the scent of cooking animal flesh that made her unable to properly develop kitchen skills.

Mitsuko pursed her lips, looking over the various catches. "Do you have any Tobiko?" At the confused look from the fisherman she grimaced in embarrassment. "Err.... Flying fish roe?"

"Oi." Mitsuko felt someone tugging at her sleeve. "You, Misses."

Mitsuko looked down. "Ehhhh?"

"Leave the fish." It was a dwarf. It took Mitsuko to realize it was the one she had kissed to get information on Frar and Fror. "You wanna know this."

Mitsuko frowned slightly and cocked her head. "What's going on?"

"Know you hadn't found Frar and Fror yet. They've been hidin' in t'caves. But they came out today. They're ov'r there."

Mitsuko felt her heart speed up slightly. "Thanks." She smiled mischievously. "I owe you one."

"If tha' what's y'think..." The dwarf started, but Mitsuko was already on her way towards the two dwarves in the marketplace. Mitsuko smoothed down her short skirt, going into business mode.

"Do I have the pleasure of finally meeting Frar and Fror?" Mitsuko called out.

[info]constantguard
Who: Adam, Constance, and Simon
When: Afternoon
Where: Town Hall
What: The unjust interrogation of Simon Myles.

With no reason to disbelieve Constance, Adam set his hard eyes on the werewolf the second the man showed up at Town Hall. Politely, Adam and one of the Elven guards led him towards one of the interrogation rooms—a room which could only shelter against magic and not shifting. This time the rooms held no wards against magic. Adam had all of his capabilities available to him, as did Constance. However, Constance’s would not be much use in an interrogation room. Adam’s would be.

It was his charge to protect her. Should anything happen to Constance, it too would happen to Adam. Their bond was not so close that if Constance was wounded, Adam would be wounded as well. It might as well have been as strong, though, for all that Adam knew. He cared and loved for Constance; she was his mother and creator, the giver of his life. Her love for him raised him and taught him well and made him what he was today, and he would never, ever let anyone harm her.

The same was true for his family. Alicia was his family, Constance’s granddaughter and Adam’s niece.

He stood alone in the interrogation room with Simon. Simon seated himself in the chair across from the desk. Adam remained standing against the wall with his arms crossed. Simon would confess to his crimes of trying to hurt Alicia, and Adam would see to it that the werewolf answered for them. He believed Constance. Adam had not reason not to after everything she divulged to him in private, and what she said was true—Simon was dangerous, and he had hurt Alicia.

And he was going to pay for it.

[info]constantguard
Who: Constance and Amada
When: Noon!
Where: The Café
What: A time for lunch and thoughtful pause.

Today, Constance chose to have her lunch at the café out in the sunlight. It warmed her heart to know her granddaughter hadn't been changed into a werewolf because of the the bite on her leg. The full moon was over, and Constance was free to pursue her questioning of Simon and the other werewolves. Particularly, her mind was focused on Simon, but she was tired today from stress. Another day looked like the better option, even though today they would be exhausted from their full moon transformations. Exhaustion prepped people well for questioning; it put down their guard and challenged their lessened mental clarity.

Not to mention, if anyone became upset, no accidental shifts or transformations could take place. The werewolves would be too drained from the night before.

Constance might feel up to the task later in the day, but there still wasn't a guarantee. For now, she was interested in her coffee and lunch. Coffee didn't make her jittery. On the contrary, it gave her a boost of brain power while actually calming her nerves down a little bit. Last night had been harrowing on her, too. Maybe that was why she didn't want to bother with interrogating the lycanthropes today. Sure, they were on the weak side, but so was she. It wasn't a good thing for her when she needed to be alert and focused and so much of her attention had been tried and whittled away thanks to family ordeals.

Family ordeals which were just as much political as ordeals as they were family ordeals because of crazy werewolf going after her granddaughter. Who was next? That was what they needed to get to the bottom of before it actually happened again. Constance sighed deeply and lifted her cup of coffee to her lips to sip it. She had a feeling this day wasn't going to get any better than having the knowledge that Alicia was going to be alright.

She leaned back in her chair at the table she occupied by herself. Constance was the only one there, but all of the tables around her were full to the brim with groups of people. She knew the café was a popular hangout spot, but she hadn't known just how much.

Who: Alicia, Family, & Guards [Narrative]
When: Evening to Night
Where: The dungeon in Town Hall.
What: The deciding moment!

Alicia was given a choice of somewhere outside for the possible transformation with a barrier made specially for her or a cell in the dungeons of Town Hall. Being outside in the dark only made her nerves shake even worse, so Alicia chose the cell. Inside, she felt safer. And maybe, if she was out of sight from the full moon, she wouldn't be so fearful of what was about to happen. There was no guarantee she would change, but Alicia couldn't predict tonight.

Outside of her cell were a few Elven guards and her family. Her grandmother smiled encouragingly, and Alicia smiled back to her. Her mother and father were holding onto each other, scared of what they might witness tonight. Zach was there, too, although the dungeons were devoid of Adrienne. Adrienne actually did shift on the full moon, and she was down by the forest with the rest of the real werewolves. It scared Alicia that it had to have been one of them out of the group who attacked her. The fact that Adrienne was down there with a psycho made her even more worrisome. Maybe it was just an accident, though. They said how it could have been an accident, the Head Council, even though her grandmother remained tight-lipped on the matter.

Together, they all waited to see what the full moon would bring . . .  )

[info]constantguard
Who: Constance, Dylan, Theora, and Adam
When: Morning
Where: Town Hall
What: The council has some important things to discuss.

Furious wasn't the proper word to describe how Constance currently felt as she stormed down the hall to find Dylan and Theora. Adam trailed behind her, keeping close. On the same night as her granddaughter getting attacked by a werewolf, a faun turned up half-eaten and torn to shreds near the festival grounds. It wasn't a coincidence in her eyes. By now, everyone knew about the dead faun, but nobody knew about her granddaughter, Alicia. They were keeping it under wraps to safeguard the minds of the community. With the news of the faun on the loose, if they heard about Alicia then the entire community would panic.

Her shoes clacked loudly against the wooden floor. When she arrived in the council chambers, Constance waited for Adam to step into the room before she slammed the door behind them and let her anger known to her colleagues and councilmen.

"What the hell is going on around here?" Constance demanded, regardless of whether or not anyone had any answers to her question. "Already, people are referring to it as a murder when we don't even know what's happened — and I can't take this." Constance sat down in the nearest chair, looking more worn for wear than usual. Adam took a seat beside her, a worried expression on his face. Constance hadn't wanted Adam to get dragged into it, but Alicia was family and he already knew about what happened to her.

"I've told Lucinda and Kelsey to keep quiet about Alicia. I've told Alicia, Zach, Adrienne, and Nico too. No one else is to know about this. If word gets out Alicia was attacked by a werewolf outside of the full moon and then a dead faun turns up, everyone's gonna think we have a psycho on our hands." Constance chewed her bottom lip. She said something then they all had to take into consideration.

" . . . And maybe it's time to recognize we do."

[info]constantguard
Who: Constance and Zach
When: Morning
Where: Constance and Adam's Cottage
What: Zach goes to ask Grandma for some advice on love.

Constance poured over papers in her study when a knock came at the door. Looking up over the rim of her glasses, Constance eyed the door and wondered why Adam was knocking. Placing the papers back down on her desk, she called out to whoever was on the other end. “Yes?” she asked loudly, her voice carrying across the room. The door opened then, and Constance saw her grandson standing there with his hand on the doorknob as he stepped into her study.

“Hey, Grandma,” Zach said. “Am I bothering you?” he asked, lifting his eyebrows as he caught sight of her messy desk and the strewn papers all over it.

Constance quickly shook her head. “No, dear. Come on it. Make yourself at home.” She gestured at the empty chair across from her desk and off to the side. “Have a seat. What have you come over for today?” She sat back in her seat, letting out a heavy breath and welcoming the break from her work. Constance watched as Zach took a seat in the chair after dragging it closer to her desk. He looked over at her with a thoughtful expression on his face. The poor boy looked confused as hell. Constance waited for him to answer. She knew better than to interrupt his thoughts sometimes.

“Grandma, how do you know when you’re in love?” Zach suddenly blurted out.

Raising her eyebrows, Constance had to admit she hadn’t been expecting that one. She blinked twice and remained silent, reaching up and slowly removing her glasses from her face to place them on her desk atop the papers. She continued with her silence for a moment, knowing this was a serious topic and Zach could be a little fragile when it came to serious topics. She had to be careful with what she said to him.

“That’s a good question, Zach,” she said softly, looking over at him. “The first time, I hear, is always the hardest to decide. It was for me.”

“Wait, you were in love more than once?” )

[info]constantguard
Who: Constance and Dylan [Narrative]
When: Evening
Where: Town Hall
What: Now, there are dead animals to add to the mix.

"What the hell is this?" Constance demanded, smacking her hand against the table once she had been informed of the news. Apparently, one of the doctors had been up at the town hall on Wednesday to report half-eaten and ripped animal carcases strewn across someone's lawn, and no one took him seriously. The matter wasn't looked into that day, and it was already cleaned up by now. Constance was just finding out at this particular moment, and it was an understatement to say she was pissed off about it.

Stalking out of her office, Constance immediately went to find Dylan. Something didn't sit right with her about this. They didn't have any large, immensely threatening predators on the mainland that would do something like this. What did it? Who did it? The creatures had been half-eaten, marks of a animal . . . but purposefully strewn in someone's lawn? The mark of a intelligent being. Someone praeternatural or human.

She found Dylan as he was pouring himself a glass of water in the hallway by one of the elven fountains. Her lips were drawn thin and taut, and there was a look on Dylan's face like he too had something on his mind. "Did you hear about this?" Constance asked him, going into detail about what she was told.

At the end of it all, Dylan slowly nodded his head. "I just heard about it as well," he revealed. "It troubles me," the djinn said softly. His dark eyes turned to Constance's eyes. "Something is not right, but I do not know what we are to do."

"First," Constance began to ramble, "we have a theft of that powerful elven piece of metal, and now half-eaten dead animals are showing up on people's lawns? What the hell is going on around here?" Her head lowered, shaking slowly as her hand came up to touch her forehead. She felt her ability as a leader was failing somewhere along the way. Things like this didn't just . . . happen right under your nose.

"I do not know," Dylan said, "but we will keep our eyes steady and trained on our surroundings." One of his hands came up to rest upon her shoulder. "In case it happens again, we will be prepared."

Constance glanced up, not liking the words she was hearing but understanding. Releasing a heavy breath, she nodded her head.

Who: Constance, Dylan, Mitsuko, Logan, Shigeru, Irei, and Elven guards.
When: 12:00 PM
Where: Town Hall
What: The questioning over the stolen elven artifact.

Outside of the grand structure of Town Hall, there seemed to be a perfect silence that had settled upon its grounds. No clatter or clamor echoed from within the building, only a calm quiet permeated the air. The only movement appeared to be a gentle breeze passing through the tall grass and the flowers outlining the fine building. However, the silence was an ominous sort of feeling for those approaching its structure. The question of what to expect within remained ever unclear.

Once a person walked into the main entrance, they were greeted by an array of Elven guards outlining the hallways. One of the guards would approach and inquire of their name and their business in Town Hall. When their name was given and if they were one of the people summoned from the day before, they were asked if they had brought their summons letter. Those who brought theirs were asked to show them; those who did not were known by name as it were by the guards. They were then escorted singularly to one of the four small chambers set aside for the interrogations on this day.

The four interrogation rooms had elven magic cast upon them to render all within the room incapable of performing their natural magic, temporarily "nullifying" their abilities as long as they were in the room. However, this protective measure also worked against those who were the questioners. Of course, attributes like strength remained the same, and so two Elven guards were placed in each room along with the interrogator.

Now, it was time to see what those brought forth would say.
