[info]crossingover
Who: Vaughn and Ath Dara (sorry for the wait dear! <33)
When: Early Afternoon
Where: Marketplace
What: Looking around for his mother and meeting someone new

Vaughn was often up at dusk or the hours shortly after because his mother would be mucking around in the kitchen, an 'innocent' way to wake him up. So when the normal hours of morning swept on by and he was able to get an actual good nights sleep, strangely enough he was worried. He would be glad if she was still sleeping. But he discovered she wasn't anywhere in the house.

He quickly dressed, convincing himself she probably was overdramatically sprawled outside the yard or something smoking a cigarette. But so far every guess he could think of was incorrect. "Scavenger hunting for a mother?" He breathed out. He was somewhat amused but if his mother was around to hear his amusement, she wouldn't at all be. "What a way to start the morning."

The medium walked the main road and into the marketplace, so far with no luck in finding his mother. He felt like some parent trying to find a lost child and actually it wasn't a long shot from it. He lit up most likely his fifteenth cigarette and trucked along. Vaughn then thought he was somewhat of a moron for not thinking of the Bakery, her place of 'work' as she would call it. But she wasn't there either.

Upon turning around, he nearly ran into someone. He threw up a hand of apology though he didn't actually give one. He was so frustrated that the tone in his voice would probably make him seem like he had an obligation to apologize and that he didn't actually mean it.

[info]song_and_dance
Who: Ath Dara Curran, Brendan Curran (Narrative or OPEN)
Where: The forests by the cottages
When: Twilight
What: Singing and dancing under a beautiful sky

"Ath Dara this is ridiculous," mumbled Brendan as he crossed his arms. He was being dragged outside by his elder sister who he once followed without hesitation. For some reason he had stopped, right around the time of the PV hitting, and one could only assume he was in some kind of state of shock. Ath Dara was trying to heal his pain by taking him out to do something he loved.

"You never said that before!" cried the female Faun as she tugged on Brendan's arm. "Don't make me pull your tail!" She grinned and let his arm go, hand diving for his back. He let out a bleat and jumped away, now being chased.

"Stop that!" he called over his shoulder, long hair flopping in his eyes as he scurried along. Ath Dara laughed and pursued further, catching up and closing the gap.

"Only if you take it back!" Slender fingers touched the golden fur at the tip of Brendan's tail, just out of grabbing distance. Hooves pounded on the the grass as they ran in to the wood, the sun setting slowly in the sky.

Back where we belong. )

[info]knowingcaden
Who: Ath Dara, Caitlin and Cara-Jane
Where: forest path by the cottages
When: afternoonish
What: Finding and returning a journal leads to conversation.

"I can't believe how bitchy Catherine and Claire are getting. I know they're teenage girls, but really I would have expected them to be a little less selfish considering we are scraping by as it is," Cara-Jane said as she and Caitlin walked from their brother's cottage. Enough was enough. She was only nineteen, but she wanted more than anything to get out of her parents' house and into a place of her own. As she doubted that was possible, she started to use her persuasive skills on Caden. His cottage had enough space for her to squeeze into a corner somewhere and she had a feeling her brother needed the company. It wasn't hard to see that Caden was lonely, even if she hadn't had known him well.

Caitlin nodded. )

[info]knowingcaden
Who: Caden, Ath Dara, and Idehr(ish)
Where: the forest cottages & forest
When: early afternoon
What: Caden wants to check up on his friend and show her a cool new ride. (Oh, yeah.)

Hearing about a faun dying made Caden worry about Ath Dara, though there was no evidence that she'd be next on the list. It was one of those odd assumptions that he formed under panic, which was quite understandable considering how much he liked her. Come on, when would he find another person he could write songs to, be odd with and who was another flute player? He wanted to see how she was and ask if she heard the rumours about the faun, though actually going to her cottage was another story. He doubted her parents would take kindly if he, a human, appeared on their doorstep and asked to see their daughter. That was why he had another plan.

A fiendish, odd as hell plan of Caden.

He knew where Ath Dara's cottage was after a couple bouts of careful watching (no, he wasn't a stalker, really) and he had the perfect person in mind to help him: Idehr, the carpenter man. Being green and decidedly not human, Ide could easily go to Ath Dara's cottage and ask for her. Caden knew that Ide was shy, but Caden needed to see her. The right bribe was necessary. As it turned out, all Ide really wanted in exchange for his services was a couple bottles of alcohol which he had left over from his stash.

He stood behind a tree a ways from the cottage and looked earnestly at Idehr. "All right, Ide, you knock on the door, and remember what I told you to say. No hesitation. You're pretty good looking for a green bloke - though I saw Ath Dara first." He shifted his weight to his other foot as Ide gave him a curious look.

''Is she fit?'' Ide wanted to know. )

[info]headcouncil
Who: Everyone!
Where: Just outside of Helicharis at the Festival Grounds
When: 6 PM till ??
What: Autumnal Equinox Festival - It's the first day of Autumn!

ooc: To join in on the festivities, simply comment to the main post. Your entry can be a narrative or open to others. If you are replying to someone else reply to their comment and not to the main post. All activities are open for participation, it is up to your discretion what your character will do.

The past week had been nothing but preparations for the coming equinox that would herald the new season. It was a happy time for the forest creatures as they were the ones that spent hours on end setting up the grounds for the joyous celebration. Wooden lamp posts lit with orange flames bordered the area as well as throughout the entire festival grounds. Each attendee was greeted with a flower garland for their head, neck, or wrist if they desired one.

Fairies had decided to attend this festival as well because of the bright colors that had attracted their attention. There were bonfires all throughout the festival as well and they added warmth to the cool night air. The fiery glow that came from each pyre added a comforting feel to the entire atmosphere, and there were many fauns and fae dancing around each one in a happy manner. They were singing songs and laughing joyously as they pulled passers-by into their happy circle.

Musical fauns played their instruments as they marched through the festival. Fae and fairies flew around the traveling group, singing and humming to the music that resonated in the air. A large stage was set up for those who wished to perform in front of a large crowd be it with singing or acting or any other sort of talent they possessed. There were shows held as well, particularly by those who possessed magic and wished to entertain the crowd for an hour or tow.

Food and drink tables were set up nearby to feed the many attendees with whatever they could think to eat. And wine, they couldn't forget about the wine! There were scantily clad fae handing out the intoxicating liquid to everyone with a free hand. The wine this year was extremely potent and anyone with a weak constitution would no doubt get inebriated with just one cup.

The southern part of the festival held the games geared toward the young or simply the young at heart. Barrels were available for those who wished to roll down hills, piles of leaves were created for those who wanted nothing more than to jump and play in them. Colored sparklers were handed out freely and there were even pegasus rides for anyone who wanted to soar through the skies. There were contests here as well, simple ones that had participants bobbing for apples and fruits and curious prizes, searching for toys in piles of hay, and even pinning horns on a wooden faun.

Contests were set up again as they were just a month earlier. Archery contests and wrestling matches, potato sack and three-legged races. There were various game booths set up as well, such as knife throwing and ring tossing. There was even an area set up for pie eating contests and a Dwarven ale contest where participants could try to out-drink a dwarf.

Fireworks exploded periodically throughout the night and the gleeful sounds of the festival echoed all around. Elysium was a joyful place tonight as citizens celebrated the equinox beneath the near-full moon.

[info]song_and_dance
Who: Ath Dara, OPEN
What: Shopping around
When: Just before lunch, say 11:30?
Where: Market place of Helicharis

Earlier in the morning, over breakfast, Ath Dara and her family had their usual daily chats. For having only risen from bed an hour earlier, they were quite the talkative bunch. The Fauns shared dreams and plans for the day, or made plans for that night. The first! Ah, the creatures loved the fall. Ath Dara especially, and this year she was more than thrilled. This wouldn't be her usual August night, no, there was a festival happening! She fully planned on attending, meeting more of the other Faun of Elysium and playing in the moonlight. As if she didn't get enough of that--you couldn't, it was her motto. But as she told this to her family the cottage fell quiet. Brendan knew she had met humans and other creatures, for she confided in him, but her parents were still innocent and hopeful believers that she was staying away from those "monsters."

A Family Conversation. )

With a large bag in tow, slung over her bare shoulders, the Faun made her way toward Helicharis. Now, she had never before actually been to the city in the middle of this beautiful place. She'd heard sounds coming from it, glanced at it, and walked through it for the wedding, but she had not looked around. What she saw upon reaching the market place made her stop in her hoofed steps in awe. This shopping adventure might take more than the time to get food and go. She needed to take a look around for herself. The first place she stopped after looking to her left and right at the fork in the road was the gift shop. She looked through the windows and decided to stop by on her way out, if there was time, and maybe pick up a gift for her family. Heal the wound she had torn open. Moving down the path she tried to concentrate on the food aspect of her journey, but things that sparkled in windows or hung from the trees caught her eye. Finally she got herself caught gazing when she found herself backing up in to a warm, soft object.

"Oh no!" she gasped and turned around, tail hanging sadly behind her as her wide eyes looked in to the strangers face. "I'm so sorry!" Her fingers were clutching on to her two-item filled bag strap as she took a step back away from the figure. "Are you alright?" She hoped she didn't hurt them. It hadn't been a heavy blow, but if they'd been eating or drinking. . .oh dear. Worry filled Ath Dara's eyes as she tried not to think about accidentally killing someone because they choked. That would be her luck, wouldn't it?

Who: Everyone!
When: 6:30 PM
Where: The Beach, by The Tiki Hut
What: Zane and Amada's Wedding Reception!

OOC: Everyone is welcome to join the party! Start a new sub-thread to interact with others, or keep an eye out for open sub-threads for you to join! Or if you don't feel like interacting, type up a narrative for your character.

The sun's rays shining out from below the horizon signaled the start of the wedding reception to celebrate Zane and Amada's happy nuptials. The area around Loki's Tiki Hut was set up with festive tiki torches that illuminated the entire area all the way down to the rim of the lake. Each lamp was entwined in green vines and white flowers, and the sand here was also 'planted' with green grass to add to the tropical theme. The tables were decorated with floating candle and flower centerpieces and around each centerpiece were several glass blown wedding favors in the shape of sail boats. Each table also had small boxes of clamshell shaped chocolate for everyone to enjoy.

Soft music lingered in the air and though the night sky was filled with stars some of the fae-folk had enticed lightning bugs to come out and provide romantic lighting above the tables and dance floor. Dinner for the guests was set up buffet style with a variety of foods provided by the restaurant in town. Drinks — alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike — were provided by Loki and his Tiki Hut served as the bar. The ever enchanting Faye Capricia had agreed to the last minute request of providing live singing entertainment for the reception. The dance floor was nothing but the soft sand beneath their feet and, as much as it may have dismayed the bride, even the lake monsters joined in on the festivities as they sang their song and splashed around in the water.

All in all it was a beautiful reception with a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy, and it was the perfect way to spend the evening in the company of friends or with a special someone.

[info]pandapaws
Who: Umeko and Ath Dara Curran
When: Early Afternoon
Where: Near Town Cottages
What: Umeko means to spy and ends up intruding

The water bungalows SUCKED. Why? Well...because she really didn’t talk to anyone and she guessed that was a reason for it to suck. She sometimes saw people outside and wanted to poke at them and say hello, but often times she was doing laundry. That’s what Umeko got for being the careless type with her clothing. It meant she had to do WORK.

Wait, she had a valid reason why the Bungalows SUCKED. She had to walk quite aways to the shops. But you had to walk for awhile anyways. She sighed. She always had to complain about something and it made her complain that she complained. What a brain buster. That’s why she needed friends here or something like that.

As she neared the town cottages she was more than a bit tired. She was near dragging her feet and falling on her face wasn’t in her daily schedule. (Though it would be hilarious). She hunched over with a groan and wanted to seek a grassy area to cool off and whine. It was then she heard a soft sound that filled the air just softly. Perhaps it was signing. It was her nature to follow the sound to discover the person behind the noise.

Incognito time for Umeko.

She was usually good at it since she was so light. A breeze rolled by so she figured that helped as she hid behind a tree that was near the singing. She could see a woman reading a book, pretty and most likely wanting time to herself. Umeko should have been able to take the hint and should have walked away. But instead she went to a tree that was even closer to the woman, now being able to see her brown locks.

Haha! She was still awesome at spying. That was until she sneezed as loud as an elephant. No fair, she was only a panda. “Awwhh..Man.”
