Who: Zach and Adrienne, joined later by Argylos!
When: Evening
Where: The fields near Steeple Rock.
What: The couple are exploring when they eventually run into the head of the gryphons!

It had been a few days since Zach and Adrienne went out to do something special together. Of course, what they were doing right now wasn't exactly a celebration or anything. They weren't donned in formal clothes like they would be tomorrow night for a friend's dinner party, but they were out of the house and having fun. To Zach, spending a simple day like this with Adrienne was a special occasion. She meant the world to him, and he wanted nothing more than to be around her like they were right now. Something a friend had said to him a few days ago made him feel selfish for how he had been acting recently, and Zach wanted to escape the confines of the town for time away from everyone else with just Adrienne by his side.

As the green fields stretched out as far as Zach could see ahead of them and the mountains loomed in the distance, he trudged along in the tall grass. Zach carried Adrienne on his back, giving her a piggy back ride through the field they were passing through at the moment. The light breeze blew at the tall blades of grass, making the field look like a tumultuous bright green ocean under the westward sun. It wasn't time for it to set yet; in fact, it was long from it. The sky was still lit with brilliant rays of sunshine as brightly as it was earlier.

Zach laughed as he weaved a zig-zag pattern through the grass. His arms were hooked under Adrienne's legs, making sure she stayed secure on his back and didn't fall off. "Mayday, mayday! The airplane is going down!" Zach shouted above the wind. "The airplane is going down! God, Adrienne, you suck as a pilot," he jested, still laughing aloud. "Shit, we've lost steering! The engine is out! We're going dooooown!"

The pattern he weaved through the grass became more erratic, and he thought deviously about crashing the 'plane,' but he was having too much fun running around like an idiot to do that. Plus, he wasn't even tired yet.

Who: Argylos [Narrative]
When: Sometime around 8:00 a.m.
Where: Helicharis
What: Flying in for the meeting at Town Hall today.

High aloft in the sturdy, steep-sided mountain ranges and open skies laid the domain of the gryphons. Argylos, the chief among their ranks, heard on the wind of the meeting to be held in the city’s Town Hall around the midpoint of the sun’s placement in the sky upon this day. While not a two-legged creature like those in the city, gryphons stood as proud and elegant as any of them. Matters not of the gryphons laid in the city, and yet their policies and way of life affected all of those in Elysium. Argylos and his flock included.

So, it was with this purpose that he took to the sky to fly his way towards the city known as Helicharis — to hear of the matters of the people. What news were they gathering for, this early after the cessation of the earth’s dying groans beyond their borders? Mountains rumbled beneath his claws as if disintegrating into dust at their innermost roots. Argylos heard of this war made out of man’s monsters: metal and bone stolen from the earth only to feed the death of everything living upon it. Anger or hatred he would feel if only he did not feel so much sorrow and despair.

Soaring towards the slope of a hill near the town’s stables, Argylos touched down on an open expanse of ground. His wings flapped gracefully after his landing, folding themselves back and settling along his sides as he began to walk past the stables. A number of hippogriffs were grazing freely. Argylos bowed his head towards them in respect, proud of the people here that they did not put harnesses or chains on his fellow brethren.

Thirsty after his long flight to Helicharis, the chief of gryphons spotted a trough with fresh water in it on the stable grounds. His four legs led him towards the trough for a drink. The water was crisp and clean and cool, soothing his parched throat. A small delicacy before he walked the city's grounds out of interest to see how the people here were doing. The Town Hall would not be open at this time, and there were things in the city to see.
