Who: Zach and Adrienne
When: Evening
Where: Adrienne's Cottage
What: Zach comes by to bring Adrienne a real gift from him.

Zach knocked loudly on Adrienne's front door to make sure someone inside of the cottage heard him. He was standing outside with a small golden gift box in one of his hands. After what happened with the false gift sent to her under his name, Zach felt the need to show Adrienne what it was really like to get a gift from him. One that she knew, without a doubt, came from him. He'd spent all day on the full moon by a cave he had found with Nico's help just gathering up the items to create the gift, which would be revealed once Adrienne opened the box. Inside of its golden wrap laid a necklace made out of golden nuggets. Zach hadn't been able to find gold nuggets, but he had been lucky enough to find nuggets. All he had to do was use his alchemical powers on them to create the perfect gift for Adrienne.

Jason answered the knock upon the cottage door, smirking a bit when he saw Zach standing there. )

[info]constantguard
Who: Constance and Adrienne
When: Late Afternoon
Where: The Alchemy Labs
What: Adrienne comes to tell Constance of the silver mirror.

Having fully recovered from the full moon, Adrienne made her way over toward the alchemy labs to visit Zach's grandmother. Adrienne enjoyed talking with Constance. The older woman always had good advice to give, and she was so easy to talk with. Even though she was Zach's grandmother, Adrienne felt that same sort of bond with the woman even if she wasn't related by blood.

But Adrienne's visit with the alchemist this afternoon was for a specific purpose rather than a general visit. She needed to talk to the woman about the strange gift she had received, and the possibility that it was someone in the haven (particularly Simon Myles) who had sent it to her. Adrienne didn't want to fathom that the other werewolf was obsessed enough to pull such a dangerous stunt, but there was no one else who would have done it. At least, not that Adrienne could think of.

The werewolf shifted the package she carried in her arms, holding it instead in between her right arm and her side. She wanted to show Constance the item in question, and maybe even give it to her for safe keeping. Being part of the Head Council, Constance was the only person Adrienne felt comfortable speaking with about the issue. There was Dylan, and Theora, and they were both great, but Constance was practically family and it seemed only right that she talk to her. Adrienne had already spoken to her father and Jason, and they too agreed that the gift was too serious of an event to not report to the Head Council.

Adrienne climbed the steps up toward the alchemy labs. She walked down one of the long hallways, passing the empty laboratory rooms and heading toward the offices. She found Constance's room easily, and she peeked around the frame while knocking on the wooden door. "Hi," she said almost shyly before she stepped into full view. "I wanted to come by and talk with you about something." Adrienne was always very straight forward about her intentions; there was no point in beating around the bush, especially when it concerned things of great importance. “May I come in?” )

[info]cursedwithfur
Who: Adrienne and Zach
When: Late Afternoon
Where: Adrienne's cottage, then Zach's cottage
What: An unexpected gift leaves a mark

The surprise on Adrienne's face was apparent when she opened her front door. She was just about to leave her cottage to go visit Zach when she found the brightly wrapped package on her doorstep. She smiled as she bent down to pick it up, shaking it a little like a kid on Christmas morning. Adrienne opened the note that was attached, smiling as she read it out loud. "I saw this and thought of you. Love, Zach." She giggled a little and hurried over to the dining table to set the box down. Her hands couldn't move fast enough to get the wrapping off the box or to remove the lid. Inside was a beautiful mirror, with an ornate border and a beautiful butterfly at the junction between the handle and the mirror itself. The golden color shimmered even in the dim light, and Adrienne reached in to lift it from its box.

But it only took a moment or two before its true nature was revealed to the werewolf. As Adrienne held it in her hand she felt it searing against her skin. The pain was intense and she immediately released it from her hand. The mirror fell to the floor, the glass cracking into three pieces as a few of the decorations around the edge bent or broke off. Adrienne looked down at her hand. Her palm and fingers were burned, the skin bright red, but in tact. It hurt like hell, and she immediately ran toward the kitchen sink to run it under cool water. As she held it under the water Adrienne knew what it was that caused such a reaction.

Silver. )

[info]headcouncil
Who: Everyone
When: 5:00 PM
Where: The docks
What: The arrival of the Elven Ship

The news of the arrival of the Elven ship had been the talk of the haven for the past couple of weeks. The Head Council had organized a group to prepare for its arrival, expanding upon the docks and decorating it the best they could even with the seemingly non-stop rain showers. At the end of the two weeks were completely re-vamped docks, one that could accommodate the smaller boats that occasionally traversed the lake while now big enough to handle the large ship that was due very soon.

The ship hadn’t arrived in the morning, the current storms outside the valley no doubt delaying it by a few hours. It was well into the afternoon before the guard in the tower by the shore yelled out from his post announcing that the ship had been sighted just entering the valley. It was a large vessel even though it was far on the horizon. The sun was only just beginning its descent in the sky, and the orange glow was reflecting brightly off the clouds. The white sails of the Elven ship billowed in the wind that was carrying it to the docks. It was a beautiful sight, and the people that had gathered by the docks were waving happily to the people on board.

It was a happy occasion for the haven since it was the first attempt at travel after the outbreak of the virus and the war. The excitement in the air was palpable as the crowd grew more and more boisterous the closer the grand ship came to them. Some started cheering and whooping into the air, others began talking animatedly about the sorts of people the ship was bringing with them. It was an event that most of Elysium had come out to participate in, and it would not be forgotten for many years to come.

[info]itsnotacurse
Who: Radu, Idehr, & later Adrienne
When: Late Afternoon onward.
Where: The path towards the forest cottages, then Radu's Cottage
What: Two werewolves and an orc walk into a bar cottage... AKA Birthday Bash
Note: Italicized dialogue = Romanian.

Now that the introductions were all said and done and they returned from getting supplies for Radu's birthday party, as well as the cake Idehr baked for the occasion, he wondered if he should ask what was new with Radu because it had been a while since they last spoke. Who knew, there were probably a multitude of changes in both of their lives that may not have been so obvious at first until spoken aloud. He carefully held the bag of supplies and the cake platter as they walked along the forest path, hesitating for a couple of moments before looking at his acquaintence. "How've you been? Doing anything fun?" he asked. He'd have to tell him all about Maddy and Aveira, once he heard all Radu had to say.

He wondered if he could invite Radu to dinner one evening like he had with Lee, and as Raduwas able to eat what Idehr cooked, it might make for a pleasant evening. He stored that in the back of his mind for now and withdrew a small carving of a sword out of his pocket. It was meant to be a birthday present, but he had no idea if it was appropriate or appreciated. "You can start a collection," he joked. "I'm also starting to work with metal too." He looked forward to what he was able to make with it. Elysium needed some culture, a couple of artists here and there, and while he didn't claim to be particularly good, sculpting here and there might be interesting. "Maybe you and I can create an art gallery." He didn't know if Radu was an artist, but either way it was a light jest.

"Some things that are good, and some that are not," Radu responded with a nod. It wasn't an entirely automatic response, as he still wasn't used to small talk. Not really. That was one of the reasons that he and others in his family were at times perceived as haughty. Still, he wasn't sure yet whether he wanted to tell the orc about his encounters with Zach, Adrienne's boyfriend. In fact, he had yet to explain Adrienne herself. He was considering how much to reveal when he was presented with a gift.

The werewolf stopped to get a better look at the small wooden sword, and was rather impressed with it's workmanship. "Thank you, Idehr," he said, and accepted the carving, placing it in the inner pocket of his jacket. "There must be no silver," he cautioned with a raised index finger and a wry grin. Although he'd had enough of that particular metal, as evidenced by the scar on his eyebrow, he trusted Idehr enough to know the warning wasn't necessary. He wasn't sure what he could provide. He wasn't as artistic as his mother had been. The thought brought a certain solemnity to the lycanthrope.

He leaned against a nearby tree, blissfully unaware of any arboreal complaints, and regarded Idehr thoughtfully. )

[info]bloodlusting
Who: Katrina and Adrienne
Where: Combat Gym
When: Early Afternoon
What: Just a little practice.

More and more often, Katrina had found herself sitting around doing... well, pretty much nothing at all. Thinking back over the last few weeks, she was startled to realize that she hadn't done anything aside from feed, sleep and smoke. Not having any obligations to meet was nice, but it was making the normally active vampire feel rather lazy. After she and Shane had fed, Katrina decided that she needed to do something, and had wandered around town on her own for a well before spotting the combat gym. It had been a well since she'd had any sort of exercise, and she made up her mind to go mess around for a while, just for the hell of it.

Katrina might have a large chunk of time missing from her memory, but that didn't mean that she'd forgotten everything. As soon as she'd picked up one of the practice swords, she'd been positive that she still knew how to use it. It was a relief, and it gave her a little hope - perhaps her mind wasn't as damaged as they'd originally thought. She'd taken blades classes the entire time she'd been at school, and obviously some of it had stayed with her.

It was reliving to swing the sword around, no pattern to follow, no partner to match or anticipate for - it was just her and the blade. Katrina was skilled enough to be in total control, even when it may of looked as though the sword had a mind of its own. It felt good give her body a little work out and build up a little sweat. She could practically feel her mind constricting until the only things she was conscious of were the movements of her body and the sword in her hand. It got to the point where if someone had walked into the room she wouldn't have noticed them unless they said something.

[info]cursedwithfur
Who: Zach, Adrienne, Simon, and Danté
When: Evening, before Nathaniel's Dinner Party
Where: On the path toward Nathaniel and Voe's cottage
What: We're not telling! You have to read it to find out ;)

There was plenty of time before Nathaniel's dinner party for Zach and Adrienne to take a leisurely stroll on their way to the forest cottages. The sun was just about to sink below the horizon, the colors in the sky turning into brilliant shades that were reminiscent of an oil painting. The skies were clear, and there was still a warm breeze blowing in from the South. And Zach was looking as handsome as ever in the ensemble he had chosen from Kazuki's shop.

"You look very dapper tonight," she said, her arm wrapping his to pull herself closer to his body. She smoothed one of her hand over the front of the jacket before she slid her arm around his middle for an impromptu hug. Adrienne moved to stand in front of Zach, her action forcing them to stop in the middle of the road. "You know," she began in a mischievous voice. "We could always leave the dinner party early for a little party of our own, later." The werewolf couldn't help that seeing Zach all dressed up had gotten her a little frisky; it also didn't help that Kazuki had put the idea in her head ever since he basically said that her dress was 'easy access'.

The dark-haired girl leaned in to kiss him softly, lips pressed against lips for longer than a second. When she finally pulled away, she smiled in a way that wrinkled her nose, and a small giggle cleared her lips. "It'll be nice to see Nate, though," she said afterward. "I wonder who else he invited?" Adrienne thought that she'd probably see Duncan there at the dinner party since he had mentioned being invited to one; after all, how many dinner parties were being held in Elysium at that exact same moment? The chances were good that they were going to the same one.

The last rays of sunlight were shooting across the darkening sky, and Adrienne squinted her eyes as she looked out toward the western horizon. Her arms loosened from her boyfriend's body, choosing instead to interlace her fingers with him for the rest of their walk. "C'mon," she said with a small tug. "We better go." They still had a way to go, having not left Helicharis yet at all. It would take them at least 30 minutes to get to the forest cottages, and if luck was on their side they would be right on time for the party.

[info]yetheregrets
Who: Nathaniel, Voe and party guests! Seating arrangements!
When: seven o'clock
Where: Nathaniel and Voe's forest cottage
What: the dinner party.

Nathaniel checked that the chicken was cooking nicely in the oven and estimated that it was going to be ready in about ten minutes, which would give the guests plenty of time to arrive for the meal. A combination of excitement and nervousness rushed through his veins, but he managed to keep it contained under a mask of a cool face. He set the table with good china and the fine silver utensils Voe had let him borrow, as well as proper and ornate wine glasses. How on earth did she manage to bring all of this with her? Some questions were better left unanswered.

He walked back to the living room where Dione sat on one of the sofas - he'd picked her up at her house and escourted her back to the forest cottage, making idle conversation along the way. "May I get you anything to drink while we're waiting?" he asked. "Wine, maybe?" He had no idea if she drank alcohol, so perhaps he should offer an alternative. "There's also water or tea." Not so many options, but it was better than nothing. Idly, Nathaniel ran a hand through his newly shortened hair. Voe had helped him cut his hair and he'd trimmed his beard for the occasion, so he didn't look half bad... if he were to pay attention to appearances as such.

At first when Nathaniel told Voe about the dinner party, she was skeptical. He hardly seemed like the type to host such a gathering and might not have the ability to do so. He was her ally, though, so he had to prove otherwise to her. All doubts vanished from her mind when he told her that he invited Janus. Another opportunity to see him again made anything worth it and she decided to help him as much as possible. This meant providing glasses and utensils and even helping him cook (namely, telling him when the food bubbled and was about to burn).

And then there was this strange woman that Nathaniel brought home as their first guest. She had haunting silver eyes - because she was blind, Volcano told her - and reminded Voe of a moth she'd seen fluttering about in the bomb shelter in which she grew up. That would be her name, she decided, and let Nathaniel keep the woman company while she hovered between the kitchen and making sure that everything was truly elegant and perfect. She smoothed the skirt of her dress, checked her hair in the mirror and made sure that her posture was perfectly straight. Now all they had to do was wait for people to arrive.

[info]coalintodiamond
Who: Zach and Adrienne, joined later by Argylos!
When: Evening
Where: The fields near Steeple Rock.
What: The couple are exploring when they eventually run into the head of the gryphons!

It had been a few days since Zach and Adrienne went out to do something special together. Of course, what they were doing right now wasn't exactly a celebration or anything. They weren't donned in formal clothes like they would be tomorrow night for a friend's dinner party, but they were out of the house and having fun. To Zach, spending a simple day like this with Adrienne was a special occasion. She meant the world to him, and he wanted nothing more than to be around her like they were right now. Something a friend had said to him a few days ago made him feel selfish for how he had been acting recently, and Zach wanted to escape the confines of the town for time away from everyone else with just Adrienne by his side.

As the green fields stretched out as far as Zach could see ahead of them and the mountains loomed in the distance, he trudged along in the tall grass. Zach carried Adrienne on his back, giving her a piggy back ride through the field they were passing through at the moment. The light breeze blew at the tall blades of grass, making the field look like a tumultuous bright green ocean under the westward sun. It wasn't time for it to set yet; in fact, it was long from it. The sky was still lit with brilliant rays of sunshine as brightly as it was earlier.

Zach laughed as he weaved a zig-zag pattern through the grass. His arms were hooked under Adrienne's legs, making sure she stayed secure on his back and didn't fall off. "Mayday, mayday! The airplane is going down!" Zach shouted above the wind. "The airplane is going down! God, Adrienne, you suck as a pilot," he jested, still laughing aloud. "Shit, we've lost steering! The engine is out! We're going dooooown!"

The pattern he weaved through the grass became more erratic, and he thought deviously about crashing the 'plane,' but he was having too much fun running around like an idiot to do that. Plus, he wasn't even tired yet.

[info]choosewisely
Who: Duncan, Kazuki, Adrienne
When: Later in the day, before closing
Where: Tailors!
What: Duncan needs a new pair o' shoes! Among other things.

Duncan had brought some things to trade in at the tailors, since money was not an option. He was rarely comfortable taking anything without offering at least something in return, even if the value was not comparable. However, he had found he had very little in his home that might be useful to a tailor except for a long blade sharpening belt. He'd kept it for his own knives, but he was confident he could figure something else out in between today and the next time he needed to sharpen his kitchen knives. He'd packed his offering in a cloth bag and held it loosely in his left hand as he strolled to the tailors.

He hoped there were some earthy colors available. Although he had been told endless times that he looked good in black -- one woman had even gone so far as to say 'yummy' -- he didn't think black was appropriate attire for a dinner party. Especially if there were going to be vampires there. Sometimes vampires were touchy. He didn't know if Nathaniel was touchy, but he didn't know who Nathaniel was inviting, either. Duncan liked himself best in tones of green and brown; because it did not wash out his face or make his hair appeal dull. Also, not that Duncan ever noticed it, earthy colors made his hazel eyes do interesting things. Depending upon the vibrancy of the green or brown, his eyes would shift to match. It was intriguing.

He entered the shop slowly, not wanting to bust the door down should the hinges be loose. It wasn't that Duncan assumed the shop was dilapidated, it was just that one time, he hadn't been careful, and had swung someone's door open so hard he'd made a whole in the wall on the opposite side with the doorknob. He wasn't immune to accidents.

"Hello!" he said, cheerfully, but he was already looking around.

[info]chemin_argent
Who:  Sydni and Adrienne
What:  A meeting on the beach
Where:  On the beach
When:  Morning

Sydni was beginning to think that perhaps she'd have to change her morning routine soon.  For the girl from California, it was getting downright cold, especially for swimming.  She was from Northern California, though, so she was used to cooler weather, comparatively, but she had never experienced a true fall.  However, she wasn't ready to change just yet.  Walking down the shore away from the bungalows, Sydni found the area she frequented every morning.  It was rather concealed - a precaution against a surprise discovery.  The reason for her secrecy became apparent as she stripped down to her underclothing.  The thing about packing only what you can carry - no room for a bathing suit.

Goosebumps already rising on her skin, she quickly waded into the water.  It was worse if you took your time.  Muttering a blessing - a nod to her father's memory (he used to bless himself every time he entered the water) - she dove under and popped up a few feet away.  Powerful strokes propelled her quietly through the water, the rhythm and the silence therapuetic.  She could think out here.  Or rather, drain her mind of thought - think about nothingness.  It was a relief from what usually plagued her at night.  She did her best to ignore her feelings and fears, but that was particularly hard this month.  Samhain was a Sabbat for the deceased, and she had many to mourn this year.  It was also the month of her birth, and knowing she wouldn't receive a sticker-plastered card to commemorate the day from her mother could nearly bring her to tears.

She swam far out into the lake - several lengths of an Olympic-sized pool - before turning back toward shore.  It was an easy pace, and she could swim far rather easily.  She was more than experienced as a swimmer, and while she did not participate in sports, really, she did have an athletic build.  Finally reaching the shore, she stood, her feet welcoming the gritty feeling of the sandy shore as she mad her way to her towel and clothing.  Wrapping the towel around her sholders, she pulled it tight agains the shivering that had already possessed her small form.  Why did it have to be so damn cold?  Suddenly her ears caught a sound, and looking up sharply, she demanded with guarded voice, "Who's there?"

[info]cursedwithfur
Who: Adrienne and Danté
When: Before sunset
Where: On a park bench in the middle of the market place
What: A casual meeting?

The changing of the leaves beckoned Adrienne forth from her cottage. If there was ever a time of the year that Adrienne loved the most, it was autumn. The weather wasn't too hot, nor was it too cold. A person could cuddle up in a cozy, cashmere sweater and go for a long walk without getting too tired. Jumping in a pile of leaves was a favorite of Adrienne's as well, and though there wasn't exactly enough of them on the ground yet Adrienne knew that there would be in a few weeks.

Dressed in a pair of brown, corduroy pants, a long-sleeved shirt and jacket, and a light scarf, Adrienne headed out for a walk around the town. She wasn't in any sort of rush, and she wasn't going anywhere in particular. She was just walking, breathing in the brisk air, and letting it fill her lungs to the brim before she let it out slowly. It had been a while since Adrienne allowed herself to enjoy these sorts of comforts all alone. Usually she was with Zach, or her family; other times she would spend with her friends Sanura, Adair, or Mitsuko. But today Adrienne felt like being alone. It wasn't that she was in a bad mood or anything, but she just needed a little bit of 'me' time.

Adrienne shoved her hand into her pockets. )

Who: Sanura and Adrienne!!!
Where: Silmé Lagoon (hope this is okay!)
When: Afternoon
What: Two awesome chicks finally meet up again!

Near eighty degrees was more than enough to get Sanura back to Silmé Lagoon where she usually would go for her swims. There she was swimming until she could feel the pressure in her limbs, telling her she should probably cool it for a bit. But she just kept pushing herself until the water felt like it was boiling and her legs stung like little bees were stinging them. She didn’t know why she tried so hard, maybe she just secretly thought she needed the exercise. Or maybe it was the adrenaline high from a few nights ago. It was such a rewarding feeling when you felt strong, big and bad. Of course that was only when she was in stripes, figuratively speaking.

With a long breath she dunked her head underwater, craving some cooler air to soothe herself. A few seconds later she surfaced and swam towards a nearby ledge. As always she just let the warm breeze and the sun dry her off. But she was curious as to why no one else was out. It was a good time to enjoy whatever was going to be left of the season. God, she was going to dread the cold weather. She could tolerate cooler water, but ice water was going too far.

Figuring she would be spending her moments of drying off alone, she lay back and closed her eyes.

[info]cursedwithfur
Who: Adrienne and Jason [Narrative]
When: 5 PM
Where: The werewolf barrier
What: A tender moment between brother and sister

Adrienne felt terrible. The full moon and the crappy weather only made the trip out toward the werewolf barrier that much worse. She really wasn't looking forward to changing tonight, but she had no other choice. This night her body was not her own, but of the wolf's. It would take over as it had for the past nine months, and it would do so for the rest of Adrienne's life. There were times when the thought saddened her; others when it she was okay with her existence as a werewolf. Tonight she was neither. She simply wanted to get it over with.

Jason accompanied Adrienne to the barrier this time around. Zach was with Alicia and the rest of his family as they patiently waited for the outcome of the attack on their daughter. She was lucky in the fact that she was at least prepared for the change; Adrienne remembered her first time and how scared she had been. At least Alicia wouldn't have to experience it the way Adrienne did.

The dark-haired girl looked over at her brother with a soft smile. He wasn't saying much; his eyes were staring straight ahead at nothing in particular. Adrienne wonder what he was thinking, and she reached over to grab a hold of his hand.

Are you all right? )

[info]coalintodiamond
Who: Zach, Adrienne, and Sascha
When: Afternoon
Where: Library
What: Zach & Adrienne, caught in the library by your local librarian.
WARNING: #3 on the List of Things You Shouldn't Do in a Library . . . this post contains some Mature Sexual Content. You have been warned!

To keep their minds off of Alicia, Kelsey apparently thought it was best to assign Zach, Adrienne, and Nico some work to do. Of course, the only work Kelsey deemed real work involved using their brains, which meant they had to write papers. Nico laughed at the idea when Kelsey wasn't looking and refused to do it, but Zach thought it might actually distract him. He couldn't find a reason to say no, and he didn't have a good enough reason to say no to his father. As a result, he was in the library working on it today.

Adrienne came with him, and her gesture of care meant a lot to Zach. He expected her to go off and have fun doing something else, but she chose to stay in the library with him. It was very quiet in this section of the building, and it was also filled with sectioned off desks for private study areas. Each desk was large enough to sit two people, and walls were built on the front and sides of each in order to provide privacy and less distractions for those using them. Zach and Adrienne were sitting at one of the desks together as Zach's pencil scratched along one of the papers in front of him. No one else was in this part of the library, though, so it gave them complete silence. However, the silence itself was somewhat distracting. Zach's pencil stopped scribbling notes, and he tapped the eraser against the paper as he looked over at Adrienne.

"It's really hard to concentrate," he said softly, scrunching his nose. Zach dropped the pencil onto the table and leaned back in his chair. "I wanna go take a break. How about you?" It didn't look like Adrienne had done much of anything. In truth, she hadn't even got started. Well, not really. She had been spending most of the time staring at Zach and acting a little jittery like people do when they sit for too long and can't take the stillness. He could tell she wasn't interested in being in the library working on this, and a small smile appeared on his face.

"Thanks for coming with me," Zach said to her, glad that Adrienne even had the patience to be in the place for this long. He wouldn't blame her if she wanted to go elsewhere and do something else entirely.

[info]nosuchthings
Who: Alicia, Zach, Adrienne, and Zane
When: Early Morning
Where: Medical Pavilion
What: Discussion over what attacked Alicia, and the consequences.

Alicia sat upright in the hospital cot, her legs free and feet swaying back and forth atop the sheets. Having sheets draped over her legs made her feel like she was dying, so Alicia had chucked them off and just sat on the bed. Her parents were upset and furious. Well, her mom was more on the upset side and her dad was more on the furious side. She had already had a talk with them, and they had to have a doctor explain to them that being bitten by a werewolf was no simple thing. The bite wasn't severe, but Alicia could have caught the virus. Fact was they wouldn't know for sure until the full moon came in two days.

In much calmer spirits than her parents, Alicia hummed quietly to herself when Zach and Adrienne finally showed up. A grin plastered itself onto her face, and she held out her arms for a hug from her brother and his girlfriend. Never mind they needed to cross the room first before she could get a hug. Alicia liked to prepare for oncoming things. Like hugs.

"I can't get up out of the bed," she said in a fast voice. "I already tried and it hurt my leg, and Doctor Zane said I need to stay in the bed, so I have to stay in the bed." When they reached her, Alicia wrapped her arms around her brother's neck and hugged Zach tightly. She pulled away afterwards, holding her arms out to Adrienne. "Hug!" Alicia exclaimed, throwing her arms around Adrienne's neck next to get a hug out of her.

"So, how are you guys doing this morning? Everything cool? How was the rest of the festival? I know I didn't get to ask you guys last night. Everybody was in such a hurry with examining me and checking me up and all that medical crap. And this Elf came in here and used some weird gooey see-through green stuff on my leg, and it smelled like plants, and they said not to wash it off. I'm supposed to leave this wrap on until the end of the day and then they'll give me a new one."

It was a mouthful, but leave it up to Zach's sixteen-year-old sister to blurt out a mouthful before she would ever let the other two talk.

The past week had been nothing but preparations for the coming equinox that would herald the new season. It was a happy time for the forest creatures as they were the ones that spent hours on end setting up the grounds for the joyous celebration. Wooden lamp posts lit with orange flames bordered the area as well as throughout the entire festival grounds. Each attendee was greeted with a flower garland for their head, neck, or wrist if they desired one.

Fairies had decided to attend this festival as well because of the bright colors that had attracted their attention. There were bonfires all throughout the festival as well and they added warmth to the cool night air. The fiery glow that came from each pyre added a comforting feel to the entire atmosphere, and there were many fauns and fae dancing around each one in a happy manner. They were singing songs and laughing joyously as they pulled passers-by into their happy circle.

Musical fauns played their instruments as they marched through the festival. Fae and fairies flew around the traveling group, singing and humming to the music that resonated in the air. A large stage was set up for those who wished to perform in front of a large crowd be it with singing or acting or any other sort of talent they possessed. There were shows held as well, particularly by those who possessed magic and wished to entertain the crowd for an hour or tow.

Food and drink tables were set up nearby to feed the many attendees with whatever they could think to eat. And wine, they couldn't forget about the wine! There were scantily clad fae handing out the intoxicating liquid to everyone with a free hand. The wine this year was extremely potent and anyone with a weak constitution would no doubt get inebriated with just one cup.

The southern part of the festival held the games geared toward the young or simply the young at heart. Barrels were available for those who wished to roll down hills, piles of leaves were created for those who wanted nothing more than to jump and play in them. Colored sparklers were handed out freely and there were even pegasus rides for anyone who wanted to soar through the skies. There were contests here as well, simple ones that had participants bobbing for apples and fruits and curious prizes, searching for toys in piles of hay, and even pinning horns on a wooden faun.

Contests were set up again as they were just a month earlier. Archery contests and wrestling matches, potato sack and three-legged races. There were various game booths set up as well, such as knife throwing and ring tossing. There was even an area set up for pie eating contests and a Dwarven ale contest where participants could try to out-drink a dwarf.

Fireworks exploded periodically throughout the night and the gleeful sounds of the festival echoed all around. Elysium was a joyful place tonight as citizens celebrated the equinox beneath the near-full moon.

Who: Ath Dara, OPEN
What: Shopping around
When: Just before lunch, say 11:30?
Where: Market place of Helicharis

Earlier in the morning, over breakfast, Ath Dara and her family had their usual daily chats. For having only risen from bed an hour earlier, they were quite the talkative bunch. The Fauns shared dreams and plans for the day, or made plans for that night. The first! Ah, the creatures loved the fall. Ath Dara especially, and this year she was more than thrilled. This wouldn't be her usual August night, no, there was a festival happening! She fully planned on attending, meeting more of the other Faun of Elysium and playing in the moonlight. As if she didn't get enough of that--you couldn't, it was her motto. But as she told this to her family the cottage fell quiet. Brendan knew she had met humans and other creatures, for she confided in him, but her parents were still innocent and hopeful believers that she was staying away from those "monsters."

A Family Conversation. )

With a large bag in tow, slung over her bare shoulders, the Faun made her way toward Helicharis. Now, she had never before actually been to the city in the middle of this beautiful place. She'd heard sounds coming from it, glanced at it, and walked through it for the wedding, but she had not looked around. What she saw upon reaching the market place made her stop in her hoofed steps in awe. This shopping adventure might take more than the time to get food and go. She needed to take a look around for herself. The first place she stopped after looking to her left and right at the fork in the road was the gift shop. She looked through the windows and decided to stop by on her way out, if there was time, and maybe pick up a gift for her family. Heal the wound she had torn open. Moving down the path she tried to concentrate on the food aspect of her journey, but things that sparkled in windows or hung from the trees caught her eye. Finally she got herself caught gazing when she found herself backing up in to a warm, soft object.

"Oh no!" she gasped and turned around, tail hanging sadly behind her as her wide eyes looked in to the strangers face. "I'm so sorry!" Her fingers were clutching on to her two-item filled bag strap as she took a step back away from the figure. "Are you alright?" She hoped she didn't hurt them. It hadn't been a heavy blow, but if they'd been eating or drinking. . .oh dear. Worry filled Ath Dara's eyes as she tried not to think about accidentally killing someone because they choked. That would be her luck, wouldn't it?

Who: Everyone!
When: 6:30 PM
Where: The Beach, by The Tiki Hut
What: Zane and Amada's Wedding Reception!

OOC: Everyone is welcome to join the party! Start a new sub-thread to interact with others, or keep an eye out for open sub-threads for you to join! Or if you don't feel like interacting, type up a narrative for your character.

The sun's rays shining out from below the horizon signaled the start of the wedding reception to celebrate Zane and Amada's happy nuptials. The area around Loki's Tiki Hut was set up with festive tiki torches that illuminated the entire area all the way down to the rim of the lake. Each lamp was entwined in green vines and white flowers, and the sand here was also 'planted' with green grass to add to the tropical theme. The tables were decorated with floating candle and flower centerpieces and around each centerpiece were several glass blown wedding favors in the shape of sail boats. Each table also had small boxes of clamshell shaped chocolate for everyone to enjoy.

Soft music lingered in the air and though the night sky was filled with stars some of the fae-folk had enticed lightning bugs to come out and provide romantic lighting above the tables and dance floor. Dinner for the guests was set up buffet style with a variety of foods provided by the restaurant in town. Drinks — alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike — were provided by Loki and his Tiki Hut served as the bar. The ever enchanting Faye Capricia had agreed to the last minute request of providing live singing entertainment for the reception. The dance floor was nothing but the soft sand beneath their feet and, as much as it may have dismayed the bride, even the lake monsters joined in on the festivities as they sang their song and splashed around in the water.

All in all it was a beautiful reception with a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy, and it was the perfect way to spend the evening in the company of friends or with a special someone.
