Who: Caden, Idehr, Caitlin, Cara-Jane and Maddy
Where: Malcolm and Idehr's forest cottage
When: morning
What: Caden asks for a piccolo. - Snippet!

Caden walked with his sisters Caitlin and Cara-Jane the short distance from his forest cottage to Idehr the carpenter's cottage. He decided to go with a piccolo instead of a flute so it could be made with wood instead of metal. How on earth was he going to find enough metal for that? Lighting one of the cigarettes he stole from Adair, Caden continued casually on the way to his destination. His sisters chatted, half bickered as they walked, talking about the new outfits they designed the other day.

"So how would the top look on Camilla?" Cara-Jane asked. Camilla was twenty-two, three years older than the nineteen-year-old Cara-Jane. The two didn't get along as well as Camilla did with her elder sister Caley, 24. The two were quite serious and loved to spend an exorbant amount of time making sure that they looked their absolute best. Caitlin was a bossy thing, but at least she knew how to lighten up every once in a while. Caden suspected that was his influence - wanted to believe it was, anyway.

Caitlin thought for a moment. "I think the style fits her all right, but it'd look better on Caley. She's expressed more interest in it and you know how she gets when she wants a piece of clothing," she said with a pointed look at Cara-Jane.

"You're right," said Cara-Jane with a laugh and then glanced at her brother. "Cade, have you ever met this carpenter person before? How do you even know that he'll know how to make a piccolo? He's a carpenter, not a instrument maker. Or whatever it's called." For all his knowledge, her brother had a tendency to be a bit thick-headed.

He withdrew the cigarette and held it between his thumb and forefinger. "I haven't met him, no," he said, "and I can only hope that he knows how to make one. So Cara, I hope that means you will be on your best behavior." His sister often overwhelmed people with her energy, though now he was teasing her. Cara-Jane rolled her eyes at him and he grinned before knocking on the door of the carpenter's cottage.

Much to his surprise, a young girl opened the door. "Hello," Caden greeted cheerfully. "Can we see your dad Ide?" He assumed that he was talking to the carpenter's daughter. Cara-Jane smiled and slipped her arm through Caden's elbow, inwardly cooing over the cute, long-haired girl in front of them.

"He's not my dad, but okay." The girl turned and raised her voice. "Ide! Idey!" Cara-Jane giggled at that, but her smile disappeared as Idehr walked up to the doorway and placed a protective hand on the girl's shoulder. Caden also blinked at the green-skinned man because... well, his skin was green!

Ide became more hesistant with the strange three people looking at him with astonished expressions. He hoped that they were here for carpentry reasons so it would be as quick and painless as possible. "Hello. May I help you?"

"Yes. My name is Caden McCall and these are my sisters Caitlin and Cara-Jane. I'm trying to start a band only I now have no flute, which is my favorite instrument.. and I wondered if you know how to carve a piccolo. If you do, I'd be very grateful. I don't know what I can give in exchange, though," Caden said almost in one breath.

It seemed that Caden spoke as quickly as Echo and Ide took a moment to understand what the man was saying. A piccolo? Odd. He'd have to look that up. "Of course," he said.

"Excellent! Thank you very much." Caden grinned. "I live not so far away, so please stop by when it's done. I'm there." He pointed to his forest cottage and then bid the orc and the girl farewell, heading back the way he came with his sisters.
