Who: Voe and OPEN
When: early afternoon
Where: the road to Helicharis
What: Meeting someone new.

With each step, gather sensation. Discover what tries to remain unseen. Twentieth Edict of Elegance. Voe walked on the path leading to Helicharis with her posture ramrod straight and her footfall quiet and gentle. The black veil fell over her face, attached to her favorite black hat. Long black velvet swished though her gait was slow and she glanced around at the surroundings of the forest. The urge to climb one of the trees was overwhelming, but that was hardly wise during the day and while she wore this impressing outfit. Later tonight was the time for feeding. One of the most unfortunate aspects about Elysium was that she no longer was able to feed on humans without it being suspicious. She did not want nor deserve to capture animals for their blood like Alix and her savage friends were. Ugh. No.

Voe's fingertips grazed along the hilt of the dagger she attached to the inner sleeve of her dress. There was no need to use it, obviously, but its presence comforted her. Though she could protect herself with self-defense moves, it never hurt to have a second weapon. Ever since she was young, Vanessa had insisted that she carry a dagger on her person at all times and Voe followed the order obidiently. The short blade became another friend to her. Ah, Nera. (She decided on its name when she was thirteen, like Vanessa had with hers.) It served her well when she took her revenge on Alix for murdering Vanessa, and a few years earlier, marking Lizard with teasing cuts so she could lick the blood dripping down his chest.

Damn man left her just as Lysander had done, the fool. How she wished she could see Lizard again to make him truly sorry for what he did to her. Voe now saw the town on the horizon and her head remained high. She might encounter a suitable victim in town, for future reference. Feast upon the blood of fools, for no one mourns their passing. Fifth Edict of Elegance.

Kazuki had realized morning had come and he was still in his cottage, waking from his sleep when he realized the tailor shop was not in his company. Of course he did not panic. He knew there could be other people to tend to the shop should business be needed. If someone stole any articles of clothing, in his light-hearted mind he would be flattered.

Light beams of sunlight was casting inside and the vampire rubbed at an eye before he dressed and went towards his door to sneak a view of the outside. Kazuki just wanted to see if anyone was passing by. He had dark clothing that masked him for daylight walking. But because he was so uncomfortable with the risk of being seen that he stayed at either the Tailor shop as a second residence, or locked the store up and stayed at his cottage until the night hours. He feared someone would see who he really was.

His eyes caught glance of a figure that seemed to be a ghost gliding gracefully down the road. Kazuki opened his cottage door slightly and made a small sound of amazement. It was like she was colored with frost and her hair covered in snow. Kazuki may have made the noise loud enough for the stranger to hear him. He stayed in the shade, evading the harmful rays of the sun he was no longer able to enjoy.

The sound of him opening the door of the tailor shop was faint, but not quiet enough for Voe to ignore. Her hearing remained one of her most treasured senses stemming from the twenty years that she had trouble seeing no thanks to her albinism. She stopped as soon as both feet touched the ground and turned her head to spot the figure peering around the door. Really now, that was hardly stealth. She'd met people who could open a door with no sound at all. The trick was being slow and careful, but she wouldn't tell this person that. "Your spying leaves much to be desired," said Voe as she took a few steps towards the building. "Do I frighten you?"

She was at a good distance to be able to catch the figure's odor and she did just that. The scent of death faintly lingered on the person - no, it was not a woman, though he had an almost feminine scent on him - and so it had to mean that he was like her. "No, you feast upon blood as I," she continued. Then what was he doing, staying indoors? "Why do you cower in there?" Voe moved right in front of him and pushed the door open. "Elysium grants us the precious opportunity to walk underneath the sun with no fear of its harsh, burning rays. If you do not use this advantage, you are but a useless amoeba with fangs. Ugh, already this man sickened her. Vampires were eternal, graceful, wonderful and he was not embodying these qualities as he should.

"Your gift elevates you above a creeping shadow," she told him and grabbed the front of his shirt, pulling him with her as she stepped back into the sunshine. When no harm came to either of them, a smug smirk touched Voe's lips and she released the shirt from her grasp. "Be liberated from what was once the shackles for vampires."

There was something about Voe that was frightening. Something struck inside of him, telling him that he should have never opened the door. This ghosty like being was someone that could effect a piece of you after she was done with you. The way Voe spoke even had a sense of eeriness to it. If he could fully have that sense back of shivering, he'd be doing it.

Kazuki tried to evade eye contact, proving that he was scared with no words when she struck a nerve that made his body tense suddenly as if someone had hit him. Voe knew. She was one of them. "I bet you enjoy feasting more than I do.." Kazuki managed to try and shoot back at her. Venom was laced with fear. Someone knew and he had no idea how people would react if they knew a vampire was among the cottages. Voe seemed the type to announce it.

"I 'cower' in here because it is safe. I stay in here to protect myself and others." His body was still tense, even more so. Kazuki felt that skittish nature returning from back home in Tokyo when he had to deal with the company of vampires who bathed in the fact that they had a lust for blood. But Voe-she was worse. She seemed to almost have a theatrical opinion on it. On what being one of them was like. Like it was...a glory..

When Voe tugged him, his body easily followed. The other vampire expected his skin to burn under her brave attempt to bring him into the light. As she let go of him, Kazuki pointed a finger at her. It was so strange to have such a serious start to the day. "No. I was liberated before I was a vampire. Don't touch me again!"

Kazuki tried to make ways back towards the door of his cottage, seeking the shadows the trees provided. This woman seemed dangerous. More like the vampires back home.

Voe tried to scare Kazuki on some level and she'd be pleased if she knew that she succeeded on some level. Hearing that he disliked feasting was horrible. Perhaps he was not so fortunate to have had a brilliant vampiress guide like she did and that was why he failed to realise the gift of unusually long life. How could people be so wasteful? Was he going to stay indoors forever? She decided that his desire to protect himself and others was just a very bad excuse. What others? She doubted that he had vampire companions and she was not going to be his first.

"I have no intention of touching or wasting my time on a quivering Larva," Voe retorted. Unfortunately, she chose to brand 'larva' as his nickname. Turning back sharply, she headed back to the road on the way to Helicharis. The encounter angered her enough to make her hungry and she would go to the blood bank to replenish her stock of food. With any luck, she might avoid any frustrating people and hold no more conversations. Men. It was typical. They just went along and did whatever they wanted to do. A couple of deep breaths and the incident was almost forgotten.
