Who: Adair and Caden
Where: Cadar forest cottage
When: Afternoon
What: Adair is feeling crappy and needs his bff XD (aka awesome Caden and Adair-ness)

"Come on motherfucker!" Adair fumbled for another lighter as he tossed his Pink Floyd zippo across the room. His hands were shaking, trembling so harshly that when he managed to get a match from a shelf, it literally danced from in between his fingers.

"Come on Adair. Just a dream. Just a fucken dream."

The psychic was sweating so harshly, it looked like he had just bathed and he was struggling to stay awake. Adair had slept, over slept. Slept past anyone should sleep. He felt sick, should have puked ages ago but he couldn't bring himself to do so. Adair was the type of person that would vomit-then vomit again because he vomited. Yuck, why was he thinking about it?

"SHIT!"

The match was lit, but burned his middle finger of all fingers. Talk about a sign from somewhere that he shouldn't be smoking. Figures. Fucken Adair-Caden forest cottage figures.

Speaking of which. Adair needed to put out the match which was still lit, the flame dancing about until he put it out with the shoes he weakly put on. Finally, he threw on some clothes and managed to stagger out into the hallway, downstairs and towards the kitchen. Adair rubbed at his eyes seeing if Caden was there.

"Caden! You awake mate?!" He rubbed at his eyes. All Adair wanted to do was try and forget his nightmare and try calm his urge to barf. He didn't want to barf on Caden. That would suck.

Caden was in the middle of making himself a sandwich when Adair entered the kitchen, though the tone of his voice alarmed Caden. His friend sounded different and upset which made him jump into action. He placed the knife he was using on the counter and frowned in worry. Sure enough, he'd been right in hearing his voice was tense - Adair looked paler than usual. "You all right?" he asked. "Tell me what's wrong." Two years was long enough for him to recognise Adair's moods and he tried to think of what he could do to cheer him up.

What if Adair didn't want to talk to him about it? He'd have to find another way of making sure his spirits remained high enough. Taking out a glass out of the cupboard, he poured some milk into it and handed it to his friend. "Here, down your worries with milk. Does the body good and removes all traces of bad things. That's what my mum says, but that was when I was younger."

Adair laughed, glad to see his friend there. He remembered when he first saw his best friend he nearly had a heart attack, acting like a complete idiot with his arms flailing around. He knew his best friends family was here and he was grateful Caden still decided to spend nights with him in a room nearby. Hell, the place was so big and he felt pretty damn lonesome.

"You.." he looked down, trying to talk about what was wrong, but he went towards the milk memories.

"You remember that time when we drank so much milk we had to go to the hospital?" He shook his head. "All because you wouldn't let me win." He chuckled fondly, deciding to try and take a steady few sips of milk. "...Thanks man." Adair then gave a distressed sigh.

"Just had a nightmare man, that's all. Now I'm feeling fucken sick."

Staying with Adair was infinitely better than living with his family, because being around them for extended periods of time after he had left home was a sure-fire way to drive him insane. Fortunately, his fun times with Adair could begin...after he made sure that he rid his friend of the bad dream. He stroked his chin mock-thoughtfully, half in jest as he remembered when he persisted in beating Adair in a milk contest but failed miserably. "Yes, I do. I still think I could have beaten you," he said. "And I will. Maybe not in a milk drinking contest, but there's always cheese eating!" He shook his fist for emphasis. "It was amazing that there was enough milk in our place to make us sick. You must be part sponge and not telling me."

A nightmare? Caden moved to Adair's side and wrapped his arm around his shoulders, giving them a firm squeeze for comfort. Nightmares stunk, but at least there was an escape by awakening. "It's over, yeah? You won't have that dream again." Not if he had anything to do with it. "Want to go somewhere cool today? We lazy bachelors have to truly enjoy ourselves, you know. We could also work on our acts - bringing stand-up comedy here might be exactly what people need, to shake things up. This place isn't a paradise without humor. Or music. If only I could make instruments." There were times when he wished that his knowledge extended to his hands and ability to craft because what good was it if he knew how something was made but didn't have the ability to make it again?

"Some elf or dwarf's bound to know how to make a good set of drums so we can form a band." There was an idea! "Fally! We should make a band! Me on flute, you on guitar, and someone on drums!" He grinned at Adair excitedly. "Cara-Jane would instantly join as our drummer if I asked but we need another bloke. You can ask the guys you met, maybe?" His head buzzed with ideas. "We can play requests and instantly be famous so girls would be able to find us and jump us!" The laugh Caden had then could only be described as a cackle. "Groupies, man."

Adair laughed at the cheese eating bit. "What? Are you going to try and make the countries again with the cheese? I think you have all of them down except the islands. I mean, places like the Dominican Republic and small places of those sorts are always so hard to narrow down with your teeth. But, you get points for trying." The Aussie teased playfully.

The younger of the two wished Caden had managed to salvage up his flute. Adair was so avid about his guitar he made sure he towed it along. He was glad none of the strings broke off, though he knew by the sound his sixth string especially made, the time was coming and he's soon have to find a custom way of making wires.

"You could always make a wooden flute!" He suggested brightly. Adair chuckled as he thought about them with groupies. "Us..groupies? Man, maybe you with all your nerdy ways. The chicks truly dig the nerds. But other than that. We will really need to work on the sex appeal with instruments and laughter."

Adair sighed as he looked over at his comforting friend. "But you are right. We do need to spread some laughter and cheer, you know?" He smirked. "And Cara-Jane can bang on whatever she wants."

Adair had a point. "Too bad I don't have vampire fangs for more precise shaving of the cheese. I could really be more detailed with them. Oh well. Only so much one can do with human teeth," he said. "And don't think I've forgotten the drunk sock sliding contest. You wanted a rematch, didn't you?" There was not much Adair could say that got past Caden; his memory was absolute.

Making a flute out of wood took more skill than he had. Carving was not one of his strong points, not that he seemed to have many at all. His flute had been damaged during the trip, unfortunately, and grieved him more than he realised. "I don't think I can do that. I may have to find someone who can do that but I have no idea who to ask." He doubted that any woman would find him attractive, so he scoffed. "Yeah, right. You know you're the more attractive one. You might as well call me Brainy Bulbous Nose McCall."

Caden gave Adair a look. "If you mean she can also bang you, I may have to vomit." Ugh, no. Just the thought of his sister with Adair... it was like incest, almost, even if they didn't think it was. He also knew that his friend probably didn't think Cara-Jane was his type. Not that he really knew what Adair's type was. "Anyway, I think we need to put posters up around town for anyone who's interested. And to make instruments too."

Adair felt rather dumb as he went back towards the flute. Not the fact that he was going back towards the flute, but the fact that he had a question that perhaps a first grader should know. "You know Idehr? I think that is his name. The bloke who does the carpenter like job. Can he make flutes and that out of wood?" Adair rubbed the back of his neck, ducking his head. "I-I don't really know. I mean I have peaked my head in there from time to time but never bought anything." He had a shop right? Oh crap, he hoped it wasn't his house.

"It would be cool to practice first, you know mate? I miss it so hard core. I remembered how many times we used to get threatened on being fired. But-the guy needed us. So he was kinda screwed." He frowned a bit as he sat at the sofa nearby, his head dizzy. "I...I wonder what the record shop looks like." Kind of morbid to think about if it was blown up now or not. But he missed it like hell.

Caden had never thought that Adair was dumb. There were no stupid questions his friend could ask. Just because Caden had vast amounts of knowledge, didn't mean that he was really better than everyone else. His parents instilled that philosophy in him from an early age. He hadn't met the carpenter type person yet, but it was good to know that there was one. "I haven't seen him but I remember seeing a sign out somewhere," he answered. "A wooden flute might sound more like a recorder, but it's better than nothing. Maybe I can play the drums instead. It isn't that hard to keep a beat." Flute may have been his favorite instrument, but the band's purposes, Caden was hardly going to be picky about that.

"We definitely need to practice once we have the full band together. I miss it too." They had some good times in that record shop. He didn't like to think about what had happened to it, because they had no way of knowing. "Even if it's run down, it will live on in our memories. I know that sounds cheesy, but it's true. It's so frustrating to know how a cd player works and all the components to it but not have the materials to put it together. We shouldn't have to go without music. I cannot live without.." He held his fist out in front of him like a microphone and began to sing. "Love is only a feeling/drifting away. When I'm in your arms I start belieeeving/it's here to stay." Once Caden got into singing a song, it was hard to stop him.

All the while Caden was singing Adair had managed to grab some milk, sneak some cigarettes and a lighter and made ways to his sofa. He had a smile on his face as he pretended to sing along. By gods, it was hard to stop him. The slightly older Aussie was in his own world. Adair wished he had his camera because it was like back home when he and the lads would catch him singing in the break room, or maybe even in the bathroom. Either way, it was classic. Record shop memorie thirty thousand for all he knew. It was a memory he couldn't forget, especially now as he just sang there and he had a 'front row view'

He tried to drink at the milk, but just sipped at it, propping a leg on the sofa. "You know you are friggin' singing solo right!?" He asked, his face forming into a wide grin. "I would do the air guitar, but you know..I'm on sick leave so the the air stage is all yours."

The whole point in Caden's craziness was to get Adair to smile and he had succeeded. He bowed before plopping on the sofa next to Adair and draped an arm along the back. "I may not be a great singer but it's very fun to do. Do you think I should be lead vocals or you? You know how women dig guitar players who sing. I won't even get started on my sisters' various obsessions," he said. A thought occured to him. "This is the first bad dream you've had in a while. Are you sure you're all right now, Fally? Want to talk about it?"

Caden usually told Adair his bad dreams and just getting them off his chest helped him significantly. He understood if his friend was not as willing to share, but wanted to help more than anything. His arm dropped around Adair's shoulders to give him a quick squeeze and then Caden nicked a cigarette and the lighter so he could light it for Adair. "Remember the bad dream I had once about being naked in a bowl of spaghetti and tomato sauce and the stuff started to wrap around me and choke me? It almost cut my nuts off... and then I woke up and saw I was sleeping on a plastic cup. Don't ask how it got there. Just know I don't have a tupperware fetish. See, if I treat a Killer Spaghetti dish very seriously, you know I'll do the same to anything of yours." He tried to make Adair more comfortable, but some times he did not have the ability to do so.

Adair was near dying of laughter as Caden told that story. Through his laughter he tried his best not to choke on the fumes of his cigarette. He made sure that as he made room for speech, he turned to the side to blow out the smoke in respect to his best friend. He placed the cigarette back towards his lips, still chuckling.

"Didn't you like..Come to me house naked? Or like in your underwear because you were so scared to be in your house alone? I swear I recalled you were lacking in the decent clothing department." Adair at least knew that the first thing his Aussie best pal did was take a piss, glad he didn't piss himself. "And every time we put out plastic cups you made this little sound like someone was cutting your nuts off. You did that I swear until recently."

Caden did tell him everything. I mean the older Aussie had brought that story to life again and it wasn't the most pleasant. "I..I dreamt of a girl getting hurt. Real badly. I mean she was like shred to the point where she was bleeding to death." Adair shifted his face riddled with worry. "It's someone I have become real close to. A real good friend. I am just really worried."

The nightmare he could easily remember. Odd how he was able to conjur such a bad memory in his mind so quickly. Caden thought of what he wore (or didn't wear) that night "Just my shorts. Damn, it just felt so real in the dream. I checked my room for any rogue spaghetti balls of doom, but I didn't find any," he told Adair. "Plastic cups are secretly evil. I must have also had a bad experience when I was two because my fear couldn't have been so strong otherwise, right?" Thank something that he was way past that frightful experience.

Caden knew that usually Adair's visions were correct and paused for a moment as he thought of what to say. He was just a little jealous that Adair said he was getting close to her, but that wasn't important right now. "I'm sure she'll be all right. You're going to check up on her, make sure she's okay, yeah? Clear your conscious. And now you have to tell me about this girl you're so close to. Is she attractive? Single? Does she have an attractive single best friend?" These facts were obviously important. "Or is she more like a little sister.. Cod knows I'm well aware what that's like."

Adair snorted a laugh as Caden went through his questions. The guy could easily get a dame should he not think he didn't have a chance. Adair had to get it through his friends thick skull that the girls dug the nerds! Caden just had to approach them right. He swore-one day he would go chick scouting with him and make him go up to a girl he thought was pretty. Caden, the sex pot. He could see it now. Oh so clear in the future.

"Her name is Adrienne and she has been dating a guy named Zach for quite sometime now. I more than think there is some lovage there. As for her friends-I don't know what they might look like. But she is hot. So, I mean when you are hot-usually your friends are." He arched a playful brow. "So I should show you her and maybe you can stalk her and see where she goes?" He suggested.

Adair gave a heavy sigh. "I am not quite sure where she is. I might look like a psycho knocking on every door to find her." He gave a helpless look. "Just want her safe."

Maybe having just sisters made him less confident with attracting women, he didn't know. The couple of times Caden brought home a date led to interrogations, not just from Caitlin and Cara-Jane, but from his parents as well. He was sixteen when he decided not to date until he was at university, and even when he was, his relationships did not last very long. Commitment and Caden didn't seem to mix very well. Women expected him to do things, make an effort, wanted him to be serious about their relationship. He liked being fancy-free, unladen with responsibility and he wanted his girlfriend to feel the same way.

Poor Adair - it was a shame he befriended a woman who was taken. "Nice, nice," he said. His friend was right about hot people tending to befriend each other. "I'm not really good at stealth. Sooner or later, I want to start talking again. And I don't think she or her boyfriend would like it if I stalked her, anyway. We'll just have to be introduced the old-fashioned way."

"You'll find her." Of course Adair wanted her safe because that was just like him, thinking of others. "Turn out all right, things will, young Fallon," he said. "The Force is strong with you and your pulsating light saber." Caden couldn't help the chuckle that left him. "That's my phrase of the day."

Adair wanted to believe he would find her. Wanted to believe that he could rid of worrying about what could happen to her. He felt pin pricks of guilt should he not be able to tend to her, should he not be able to save her. Then again, Adair should feel relieved. The Werewolf had a boyfriend. Could be like her knight and shining armor.

It was going to be okay. Just like he said in the dream.

Then he felt bat shit sick.

He looked over at Caden, patting his shoulder as he put out his current cigarette and took out a new pack, shoving them in his pocket along with a lighter. His mind was apologizing to itself. He had betrayed himself and his devotion to quit his addiction. Oh well, he was in 'despair' woe.

"I'm going to take a walk. Perhaps towards the Medical Pavilion just to ask for something to kill of the nausea and the dull fever. Not to mention the headache wich may be my fault."

He smiled at Caden. Now if anything happened to Cade, his life would be over. Adair knew that was what was truly tearing him up. He couldn't see Zach going through that. Seeing Adrienne how he did in his dream. Seeing her suffer. It would be too much.

"I'll be back soon. See you later."

The Aussie nodded in appreciation, trying to push his thoughts away before he headed towards the Medical Pavilion.
