Who: Adrienne and Adair
When: Mid-Evening
Where:The Wine Bar
What: Getting together for a drink and some venting

Adrienne growled into her glass as she took another sip of her wine. "I swear, Adair," she began in an irritated voice. "I must have some sort of target on me that just tells them to attack me!" She whined as she rested her elbow on the table just so her chin could rest in the cradle of her palm. "It's not fair..." She thought back to the fairy attack she endured only a week ago and remembered that the little bugs were ruthless in their stinging and biting. The only good thing that had come from that whole ordeal was that it had allowed her to meet Adair, though he too suffered at the brutal hands of the fairies.

"This gnome," she began again, having learned of the creature's name from the elf at the stables. "This gnome thing looked like a freaking tree root. It was nasty, Adair... naaaaasty. This thing attacked my horse and then attacked this other girl's horse, too! We were thrown to the ground and then it had the nerve to snatch my necklace!" She pulled the yellow-sapphire pendant from her pocket and passed it to Adair so he could examine it. "I need to get it fixed." Her lower lip jutted out in a pout just as she took another sip from her wine. She nodded at the waitress and pointed to Adair, meaning that he needed another glass of wine for her friend.

"I really appreciate you coming out with me tonight, Adair." Adrienne cast a sheepish grin in the psychics direction. It was fun being able to hang out with him without little pests flying around trying to poke their eyes out. He was good company, and with the full moon just around the corner, and her precious necklace broken because of some irritating creature, Adrienne definitely needed to have a good time.

Adair chuckled. His arms folded on the table as he glanced at Adrienne from across the table. The fairy attack was embedded in his mind. Sometimes he swore he had fairies crawling in his bed and he flung out of his bed to take a shower, still feeling as if black dust was stained on his back. It was horrible, but the hilarity of it made it worth the terrifying factor. Not to mention Adair met the very person he was going to have a good few drinks with. He wasn't going to mention that he was a pathetic lightweight. He'd have to talk a lot and sip idly at his wine. Adair talked a lot by his nature, so things would be just fine.

"A mother fucken gnome Adrienne?" Adair sat back in the chair, rubbing the back of his head in disbelief. The psychic needed to truly get out more. But if he met a gnome, apparently that would not be a good idea. "You're just are meant for trouble." He just imagined what that nasty little necklace robber must have looked like. "Ughhh I can imagine what that thief must have looked like. I hope you took care of it."

Adair inspected the necklace sadly, staring up at Adrienne. "It can be fixed here right? It must mean a lot." Adair recalled the Lycan wearing it at their last mishap. When his hands landed on her 'mangos' that was the first thing he noticed. Well..besides. "It's beautiful. And I can tell it means a lot due to the fact it seems like you never take it off."

The rather short man was glad Adrienne had invited him. "Hey no problem. I am just as grateful. It's good to see you besides you know..Running and all that." He gave a teasing, and reassuring look as he moved back a little when a waitress set his wine down.

"Other than the gnomes from hell and..you're necklace. How have you been?"

Adair kind of seemed uneasy, so he apologized in advanced. "You'll have to forgive me. I am trying to quit with the smoking." The feeling was a bit stronger, but he guessed it was the urge of the wine. So, he took a steady sip.

"A gnome," she said rather blankly. "An ugly, good for nothing, gnome." The word dripped from her mouth with disgust and she scrunched up her face to mirror her feelings. "They totally don't look like the garden gnomes they sell at garden shops. These things looked like animated tree roots. Seriously... " She raised her glass to her lips and took a small sip. While Elven wine and Dwarven ale were amongst the strongest ever made, it still did little for the werewolf especially since she was still nursing her first glass.

Adrienne smiled at Adair and nodded. "It does mean a lot to me. Zach made it on our first 'unofficial' date," she said with a smile as the memory worked its way to the surface. "I've had it with me ever since, and that was over six months ago!" She smiled happily and then accepted the necklace when Adair handed it back to her. "I think Zach can fix it. He's an alchemist so he should be able to. I just hate the thought that it got ruined in the first place."

Adrienne did notice Adair's uneasiness. In fact, there was very little that escaped the werewolf's attention on this night. All of her senses were heightened as the full moon approached, so Adair's movement, and the scent that he exuded because of his anxiety, were all noticed by the werewolf. "Smoking is bad for you," she said with pointed finger. "It's good that you're trying to quit, but maybe going cold turkey isn't the key. You should gradually cut down. At least, that's what I've read."

Adair couldn't help but agree. It was rather dumb to wake up one morning and be like "Welp time to quit." But it was embedded in his nature to do something spur of the moment instead of doing things gradually. "You're right. I can say it was you're idea to let me have a smoke or two if someone sees me sneaking a cig. You know. Need a smoke but I am doing it not as much." He threw a teasing smile. "Seriously, I am trying to quit."

He shifted lightly, trying to calm his bouncing leg by running his hands up and down it idly. Adair eventually took a casual sip of his wine casting a curious glance. "Tomorrow is the full moon, yeah?" Adair wasn't sure if it was alright if he brought it up. Some Lycanthropes weren't all that thrilled about chatting about it. Adair just was really curious about her insight should she want to talk about it. If Adrienne just wanted to evade that topic, he was fine with it since she might want to sit back and relax and talk about other things.

"Well then I will support you one-hundred and ten percent then," Adrienne said in regards to him quitting smoking. "Seriously I think it's great. Plus you'll feel better in the long run. And maybe keep up with me if we ever have to run from 'Fairies of Doom' again." Adrienne laughed and poked his leg lightly with her foot to show that she was teasing him before she took another sip of her wine. It was relaxing, but it was far from giving her a buzz. She watched Adair's leg bouncing and knew that his lack of nicotine was making him anxious.

Ah, the full moon question. There was a time when Adrienne would have shied away from such a question but that wasn't how she was now. She could talk about it freely and wasn't all that ashamed of her lycanthropy anymore. She had come to accept it and was slowly becoming one with her inner beast. "Yep, tomorrow's the full moon. Crazyness I tell ya!" Another sip of wine (a long sip this time) before she stared into his blue eyes. "I really don't mind it all that much nowadays, y'know? I sorta get moody, and get achy, but other than that it's not so bad." She paused and then let out a laugh. "Okay, the transformation still hurts like a bitch, but..." she shrugged. "It's getting better with each full moon."

Adair just imagined those horror movies with the bones crunching on the soon to be Were and coming out before the beast of the person came to life with one of those terrifying howls that had everyone running for the hills. Too bad they didn't dance though like Michael Jackson's Thriller along with some zombies. That would be awesome. Though Adair couldn't quite picture Adrienne dancing about with some zombies. Would be funny as hell though.

The Aussie took a huge sip from his wine. He knew he wouldn't fidget as much. "Ho..How did it happen? You know. Becoming a Were and all." He tried to make light of the question after the fact. "Hey, if some guy doesn't leave you alone and it's about the be the time of the full moon.perfect scare tactic." Adair looked down before he took a long swig of the wine. "And I am glad it's getting better."

If only Adrienne had as much control over herself as Michael Jackson did in the Thriller video. And the best part was that he actually got to keep his clothes on! No, Adrienne would be stark naked by the time she returned back to her human form. Naked and cold and very very tired. She glanced at Adair from the corner of her eyes as the glass reached her lips. Of course, the 'how' question would be the next in line. That was a little harder to answer, but she forced herself to talk about it so that the event would have no control over her life. Adrienne laughed at Adair's joke and nodded.

"Totally perfect scare tactic. Just be all 'Leave me alone!'" she acted out to Adair pretending to be a scared girl. "And then when he didn't, and the full moon was out, be all 'Grrrrrrooooowwwwlllll!!'!" She laughed at her own joke and put the glass down on the table. Oh the mental image was too funny. She sighed and then took another sip before she attempted to answer the other question.

"The how of the story," she began in an even voice. "Is basically I was attacked by a Werewolf when I was living in Chicago. I thought it was a dog at first, but then a month later BOOM!. Turned into a werewolf. But here's the kicker..." She leaned in closer to Adair and lowered her voice to a whisper. "The man who helped me after my first shift told me that the Were who had bitten me had done so on purpose. It wasn't a freak attack or a case of me being in the wrong place at the wrong time... I was chosen by some crazed stalker Were." Adrienne sat back in her chair taking her glass with her. She swirled the red liquid around slowly before she downed the rest of the glass.

Adair felt a wave of uneasiness pass. But that was just as he was taking a large swig of his wine. He took the chance in guessing that because he drank the whole entire wine glass worth. That and, well hearing such a story wasn't all that humorous.

"Well. Let's hope he didn't make it here." Adair said carefully. A man like that in Elysium trying to do harm like like could be a horrible thing. Especially to Adrienne. She was a big girl and could take care of herself. But if a guy that like knew she was here as well..He shook his head. Adair had no idea why people made comments about their lives and then in his mind he went into details and made theories about it. Horrible idea. Then he would jump to conclusion and perhaps not want Adrienne out at night.

Adair asked for some more wine. He didn't know why, but suddenly he felt the urge to drink. The Aussie used to get smashed about every other day back home. Problem was, only took about three or four drinks to do so since he was such a lightweight. This girl could out do him by a long shot.

"So here in Elysium. They got a Were party zone?" He pouted. "Too bad I don't get a V.I.P. pass."

Adrienne couldn't have agreed more with Adair. She wouldn't know what to do if the Were who attacked her had suddenly come face-to-face with her. She had never thought of that before, but she thought that it was probably impossible. What were the odds that he would show up in Elysium, especially when there were other havens in the world. Hell, for all she knew the scout from the school who had helped her originally probably caught him already. That though alone put her at ease.

"A werewolf party zone?" She asked with a laugh and then shook her head. "Well, I don't really hang with other Weres," she said. "I mean, I've met them and stuff, outside of being furry I mean. But like..." she paused and finished off her wine. "No, we don't hang out. But, you know where we all go to shift right? The part of the forest beyond that Elven palace. They put a barrier around us and we run around like crazy animals." She laughed at herself and then asked for more wine from the waitress.

"You can always come out to the enclosure though. I mean, it's perfectly safe. Not like we can get out or anything."

Adair thought about it for a moment. Maybe he should go. In fact it was possibly a good idea for him to try and tackle his fears. He never took that 'leap' to try and get ahead of things that scared the hell out of him. If everything was enclosed, then he was certain that he wasn't going to get bitten, or he would be in danger. Hell, maybe he could irritate some of them. No..No way in hell would Adair do such a dumb thing. That was massively dumb in fact.

"I could go maybe, Yeah. I mean if I don't show up it is only because I didn't take my courage juice." the Aussie teased. "I tend to get brave then change my mind. No matter how worked up I get about doing something exciting and brave worthy I just end up having trouble in the end.." Adair snorted. "Oh well. So far I haven't needed to be brave." he concluded. Adair then tilted his head in a curious matter.

"So. I am guessing you can't talk as a Were?" Adair rolled his eyes at his own question. "But you can understand right? Do you have other ways of communicating? Zach must come to visit you." He chuckled, tracing a line on the table. "Ahh, sorry about all the questions. It just must be quite a damn night."

Adrienne couldn't help but giggle softly at Adair's remark about 'courage juice' and thought that she was probably born with that stuff in her veins since she often jumped into adventures without a second thought. She smiled at Adair though and then gave him an easy shrug. "It's up to you. I don't know how often the Weres actually go up to the barrier, all I know is that I do. So you could go there and like, not see a damn thing. You'd hear the howling though, that might be cool. And oh! The orc shaman that put up the barrier are pretty freakin' awesome, too."

Adair had good questions and Adrienne felt that answering them could only serve to help her own understanding of how the whole communication process went. She knew that there were some things that she understood, but there were other times when she didn't know (nor could she remember) a damn thing. Almost like turning off a movie right when the exciting part comes on, and when you turn it back on again, the movie's over and you're left wondering what the hell happened in between.

"Nope, can't talk," she said, shaking her head. "Can't always understand," she admitted. "According to Zach, I haven't come up right up to the barrier yet. I just growl and then linger by the trees." The waitress came by to refill her wine and Adrienne thanked her before she took another sip. "You see, me and Zach have been working on a project of sorts, trying to get me to recognize him while I'm a werewolf. So far... it hasn't worked." She frowned slightly and then sighed. "Hopefully tomorrow night will be different." Adrienne put on a smile this time and then reached across the table to pat Adair's hand.

"Don't worry, I don't mind questions. It's when people are quiet that I get worried."

Adair couldn't help but to fall against his chair lightly with a laugh, tracing the brim of his glance which cast off a reflection from one of the lights overhead. "Me? Quiet? If that happens I will either be dead or the apocalypse is coming because I talk until there is no breath in me, seriously. I guess I sometimes need to learn when NOT to talk because sometimes I can say the dumbest things and the worst times." He admitted sheepishly. "But I agree. I mean, I'd rather be loud and make a fool out of myself than stay quiet. Life's too short, yeah?"

The man couldn't help but think how tragically sweet the full moon was for Zach and Adrienne. I mean, it was dangerous for her to be out there in the barrier. It was a long night and even though there was a barrier between them, Zach was there and they worked on ways to better communicate even as she lay in a form that proved that communication required other means than speaking. They truly had something there.

He took a quick swig of his wine.

"You know. That truly is something else." He said slowly, fondly. "I mean him and you finding ways to communicate on nights like these. You guys must really be in love. I mean there is love. Then there is love." He snorted. "I mean some girls couldn't take my snoring, but wow you guys work through everything."

Life was too short, the death of her own mother and the death of Zach's brother, Jared, made Adrienne realize that. She was determined to live every moment of her life to the fullest, but there were times when even she needed some peace and quiet. But it wasn't like that all the time, thank goodness, otherwise she'd be a pretty boring person. "Thank goodness we're not quiet... hell, considering the ruckus we made with those fairies." She laughed and tossed her hair over her shoulder. "You'd think we were being attacked by bears or something."

She didn't know what to say with Adair's next statement. It was true that she and Zach had been working very hard on getting her to recognize him during the full moon, and they were both very committed to their project. But that didn't mean it was love. The truth was that only Adrienne had admitted to falling in love with Zach, while Zach... well, he hadn't said anything along those lines yet. She knew that he cared for her, and that he had said that he always wanted to be with her. But love? Those words had yet to leave Zach's lips.

Adrienne smiled though and nodded. "Yeah, we do work through a lot of stuff," she said choosing not to comment on the love thing. "See, the key to relationships is communication, with or without the snoring."

Adair snickered. "That's true. There are always those breathe right strips. They really do help for snoring!"

Adair was somewhat weird he supposed. He had never been in love. I mean he loved music. In fact he loved playing it. But an actual girl? He couldn't remember the last time he actually had feelings towards anyone. I mean there was sixth grade when a girl named Nessa punched him in the arm and they 'dated'. But Adair just never found anyone he could say he was in love with. He wasn't an easy guy to be around he guessed. Adair was OCD, ADD kind of was spurratic and odd when it came to psychical contact in the sense of relationship. He would even get awkward and run away. Some boyfriend.

"How long have you been together?" The Aussie asked, waving the wine glass he had in his hand. Adair sure began to think more when he started to get tipsy. But he was coherent and was genuinely curious.

Randomly he set the wine glass down and traced his finger across the brim of the wine glass.

"By the way. You be careful the night of the full moon. Must be dangerous."

There was one time, before Zach, that Adrienne thought she was 'in love'. It was with her first serious boyfriend in college. They had been together for a year before she caught him cheating on her. It hurt her more than she imagined she could ever have been hurt. But, comparing her feelings now for Zach with what she had felt back then... well, there was no comparison really. Her feelings for her first boyfriend were nothing compared to her feelings for Zach.

"We've been together for..." she counted back the days in her mind before she responded. "Well, our six month anniversary is in a couple of weeks," she said with a broad grin. "But we've known each other now for close to eight months now." Adrienne took a sip from her wine and smiled at Adair. He was such a nice guy and she wondered why he didn't have a girlfriend.

"The full moon's always a little rough," Adrienne answered. "But I promise I'll do my best to be careful!" She finished off her wine and then out the window at the near full moon. "Hrm... how about we finish off our current glasses of wine and then you walk me home? Gotta get some sleep before tomorrow. Plus..." she grinned at him. "Zach is coming over tonight."

When Adair heard Adrienne mention Zach coming over to visit he gave a big wink. Six months they were together? There was an aching need for him to ask if they have had sex. Granted, if he was five glasses wine free he wouldn't have asked the next question. Okay, he might have but maybe not in the same nature.

"You guys going to like...Yoouuu knooowwwww...?" The psychic pressed both palms together. "You know pre-six month anniversary sex?" He made sure not to say it too loud. Adair might have been teased. But he was a twenty two year old virgin. Adair was one of those kids that squirmed during sex ed. It would happen some day. Maybe with his eyes closed. Better yet, when he was drunk. But oh, it would happen.

"Bet it is some hot sight to see." He continued in a teasing matter.

Adrienne blushed furiously at Adair's question and she covered her face by lifting the glass to her lips and downing the rest of her wine. She put the glass back on the table, but her cheeks were still red and she found herself looking down and giggling slightly. "Pre-six month anniversary sex?" She repeated with a small smile. She swallowed the lump in her throat and let out a nervous laugh. "Um, well, to tell you the truth..." she said as she covered her cheeks with her hands. Adrienne moved her elbows to rest on the table and whispered to Adair.

"We haven't... you know... had sex yet..." She looked at him with a quirky smile and then sighed happily. "With everything that's happened to the world, we've just been there for each other emotionally, y'know. It's made us so much closer than we would have been otherwise." She paused for a moment and then looked out at the moon again. "Tonight, just like every other full moon here in Elysium, Zach is just going to spend the night to help me sleep. I'm always really anxious before the full, but with him beside me I sleep like a baby."

She blushed and sat back in her chair. Her fingers went to push her hair behind her ears and she giggled a bit shyly at Adair. She wondered if he'd think it was a bit old-fashioned for them to wait as long as they had to have sex, but they both wanted it to be special and it still hadn't been the right time to engage in the act.

Oh it was a miracle! Someone who hadn't had sex either. Surely she was younger, but you know. He did look a hell of a lot younger sometimes. It just depended on what he wore. It almost seemed like he gave a relieved sigh. "Oh thank god." He shook his head. "No-No! Not like That you have-" He shook his head. "Well I mean if you wa-" He chuckled. "Hey man. I am twenty two bloody fucken years old and still haven't been laid."

Adair scooted his chair closer to the table. When he was busy making the sex movement he had accidentally pushed the chair back. That was truly romantic. Zach and Adrienne made sure it was an emotional connection before it was psychical. That was very admirable for the fact that in this day and age, when times were frantic people were just having casual affairs.

"Don't feel bad. Seriously. You will have more action than me in your lifetime. " He teased. "You guys are doing something more people need to do. Why do you think so many relationships fail?" He asked with a snort. "Too much sex, no feelings."

Adrienne giggled at Adair's reaction and found herself blushing even more. Her head dropped forward and her hair covered her face momentarily as she tried to recover. No, she and Zach hadn't had sex, but Adrienne had once before in the past with her first boyfriend. It was something that she and Zach hadn't talked about yet, and she wondered if he would be upset over that fact.

"I think it's very admirable that you haven't had sex yet," Adrienne said honestly. "You're absolutely right about people just jumping into sex. Every thing's so casual these days and no one take's the time to actually invest in feelings." She sighed and ran her finger idly around the rim of her empty glass. "He's wonderful..." she said dreamily. "I love him very much."

Adair supposed his next curious question buzzing around was a rather personal thing to ask as an elbow propped on the table and the other rest lazily on his leg. "Have..Have you told him?" The question quickly followed the finishing of his fifth or six glass of wine. It stung as it crept down his throat, just for the fact that he was tense just for the question he asked. Some people were very touchy around that question. He should have known better too. Adrienne was reaching the full moon, she could be even more touchy.

She seemed at ease though, so the slipping of his question could be safe. "It..It just seems like it would be okay if you told him. I mean, it really sees like the puzzle pieces are put together so why not glue it to keep it there." Worst analogy, but it was the best one he had at his current state.

Adair seemed to be going downhill and fast as the strong Elven wine was beginning to take its effect. She smiled at Adair and answered his question easily. She never thought that the man who shared her fairy adventure would turn out to be a good friend. "Yeah, I've told him. It felt really nice to say it, too." She smiled again at the thought and then sighed.

"You know, maybe we should get outta here. I'll walk you home. You seem a little... wobbly." She laughed slightly and then reached across the table to pat his hand. "You know, you're really adorable when you're drunk."

Adair gave a cheeky glance, rolling his eyes as he got up and tried to steady himself. As he almost fell he decided that her perhaps guiding him home was a great suggestion. "Gonna look lucky ya know? Having you take me home." He laughed. "Then you are going to be lucky because someone is going to come to your home."

The rather drunk man (due to being such a damn lightweight) extended his arm out, expecting Adrienne to be by his side. "Come on. I want you to be able to go home and be there when Zach visits you." He batted his eyes, trying to make his smile devious.

Adrienne couldn't help but laugh at Adair's comment as she linked her arm through his. "Oh you're going to look like a pimp," she said with a nod and a flirty flip of her hair. "I mean, I am a pretty cute girl, y'know?" Another laugh cleared her lips as they began to walk to the door. A few people were watching them but anyone could see that Adrienne was simply helping a very inebriated friend home.

"And don't you worry about me getting home in time," she said as they walked out into the fresh night air. Adrienne took a deep breath and sighed happily. For it being the night before the full moon, she felt extremely calm and un-moody. "I'm more worried about getting you in bed so you can sleep off the alcohol. Zach will understand if I'm late." She smiled at him and then held onto him a little tighter so he wouldn't stumble over. Adrienne knew she wouldn't be late getting home to see Zach, and decided to enjoy the walk back to the forest cottages with her friend. It was nice being able to spend time with him and she could foresee many more happy get togethers for the future.
