Who: Jordan Bennet - Open
What: Having a drink
Where: The bar
When: Evening

It had been a very long set of weeks, and too many bodies were piling into the mausoleum as far as Jordan was concerned. Every time, she just looked at the bodies' she felt some sort of disgust, and a sense of time gone horribly wrong. It was odd to look at an empty shell, but it was something she was used to by now. She didn't look at them in the same way that she looked at a dead djinn, she didn't really get the whole human thing. And that's what everyone else was, no matter what race they were. They weren't djinn, that was their race, and therefore she was above them in a way. But it didn't mean that she didn't respect the dead. That was something that she was taught at a very early age. Always to have respect for the dead, and that's what she did.

But what she needed was a drink, a really big drink. It had been a long day, though she wasn't feeling particularly angry. Just tired. After she ordered a very large long island iced tea (the only good things that came out of the human world was alcohol as far as she was concerned) she sat back with it and began to drink. Maybe if she was really lucky, this next week would have significantly less dead people that she'd have to deal with.

Probably not.

But maybe.

So Nolan was a horrible person. He must have been because he really didn't give a shit about what was going on. It wasn't his problem. If some dick wanted to storm the streets like Godzilla on crack, then so be it. It was the Town Hall's fault that they didn't take care of it fast enough for people not to get hurt. The panic was insane enough to have people dashing inside of the Woodshapers and those who tried to reason with the freak paid the price either mentally or psychically. No, fuck that. He would rather not care and stick to enjoying the rumors.

But it figured that when it came to going to the bar and enjoying his drink, the chaos that occurred was hot shit to talk about. The place was packed. He didn't have much of a choice where to sit so he sat with the hot lady probably about ten to fifteen years his senior. Hey, who said older woman weren't hot?

"I'll have a bottle of scotch. Please don't fucking take forever it's just a bottle and a glass." He looked on over to the lady as he lit up a cigarette. "You smoke?" He eyed her and her drink all at once. "Nice drink." Nice rack too, but he wouldn't say that out loud.

If Jordan wasn't having to deal with the dead, she wouldn't have gave a rats ass about it either. The whole thing had not a thing to do with her, and that's the way she wanted to keep it. If someone dragged her into it, they would be very unpleasantly surprised. She kept to herself for a reason, and she always had throughout the ages. This wasn't the first time something like this had happened after all. And it certainly wouldn't be the last.

As the seat next to her was taken up, Jordan moved a bit to give room for him to sit down. The only bad thing about a bar stool was how little room there was getting up into the seat. She eyed him out of the corner of her eye, and was very glad that she wasn't in a bad mood, or at least not an angry one. Not with the mouth on that one. But as he asked her a question, it wasn't like she could just ignore him.

"Oh you've no idea.. but I do, as a matter of fact." She answered, almost pleasantly. Well pleasantly for her anyway. "So very glad you approve. I'm not sure what I would have done if you hadn't." Hm. So much for pleasantries. Mostly.

Nolan set down his Zippo lighter and a cigarette in front of the pretty woman, then was happy to pour himself some scotch when the bottle and glass arrived. "Help yourself." A woman with her sarcasm could have as many cigs as she wanted. It was refreshing to meet someone who wasn't sugary sweet or downright saucy. This woman could probably kick his ass if he played his cards wrong. Not like he was trying to get laid or anything. However..if she was willing.

Not a chance. He sensed it. Even if ladies went for the whole douche bag personality, he was too young. But hey, there were all sorts of women around and they may have liked all sorts of flavors. Wonderful analogy he believed he had there.

"So, were you oh so lucky to be around when Cujo was storming the streets? I got to tell you. That was some crazy shit right there." He still couldn't believe that people were trying to reason with that monster. What kind of fuckery was that?

So far all she'd met were people who got snippy with her and her sarcasm, and certainly weren't 'nice' to her afterward. She eyed the cigarettes on the table and then finally gave in and plucked one from the case. "Thank you." She took the zippo next and lit up the cigarette, inhaling briefly. She didn't feel the need to start any kind of display of power, so the lighter was used instead of just lighting it herself.

Honestly her mood had to be right for that sort of thing, though the thing was that her mood could turn on a dime. It was fickle and ever changing, like the winds or some other stupid analogy. Tonight seemed to be just full of them.

"Sort of, I caught the.. tail end of it so to speak. Definitely some.. crazy shit, as you so put it. I think putting everyone into such a tiny space is finally taking it's toll on the inhabitants. Like animals locked up in a zoo." She muttered in between inhales of her cigarette.

Nolan had to think about what she meant about being on the tail end of the ordeal. Maybe she worked at the temple? He knew that Dante had been finally subdued at the temple so perhaps she worked there? She seemed like she could hold some sort of authority but was just more witty, sarcastic and down to earth in comparison to the more serious of sorts. Not to mention, she would have done some serious ass whooping. "Do you work at the temple?" The telekinetic figured that was the easiest way to ask.

"I'm Nolan by the way." He figured that he may as well introduce himself if it seemed like they were getting along. He didn't click with many females but this woman seemed to be an exception. Scratch that, he didn't seem to really click with anyone. One huge problem was his fellow Wood Shaper.

"I haven't been here all to long and I'm starting to think I wish I found this place later."

For a moment, she had to think of what he was talking about and then realized that all of the ordeal had ended at the temple. When she heard about it, she wasn't really surprised by it ending there, it always seemed like those sorts of people were attracted to holy places, or perhaps the holy places were attracted to them. Either way, she shook her head. "Oh no, more of the end than even that. I work at the mausoleum.." And then she gave the barest of smiles, indicating her amusement. He should consider himself lucky, she didn't smile at just anyone.

For a moment, she thought about reaching out to shake his hand but thought better of it. "You can call me Jordan, it's actually nice to meet you, Nolan. Which is a surprise. It's rarely nice to meet anyone." Picking up her glass, she took another long couple of sips before putting the empty glass down and waving for a refill of her drink. It was kind of amazing that he hadn't annoyed her. Yet.

As she waited, she sat back with her arms crossed in front of her. "I've been here far too long, but I know what you mean. It's .. stifling in here."

"It must me nice to work at the mausoleum. You don't have to deal with that many people." He speculated. "It must be somewhat of a troubling job, but at least you don't have annoying people to deal with all day. It's quiet and somewhat far off from other locations. You seem like the type who could use an escape from others. Believe me, I've run into enough annoying assholes to know that you're actually quite lucky to work where you do. You know, besides the downside of the dead ordeal." He didn't say the tail end of his statement in a mocking fashion. He didn't think he could deal with the dead though he pretended nothing got to him.

The telekinetic was actually quite surprised someone put his name and "Nice to meet you" in the same sentence. "It's nice to meet you too Jordan." He wasn't surprised that she didn't have some flowery name. It wouldn't suit her.

It was a relief to know that another person was on the same level about being in the sanctuary. After taking a long swig from his drink, Nolan gave a slight chuckle. "I'm just waiting for the day when an elf gets some sort of rabies like disease and starts trying to attack and bite people. With what has happened so far, you never know. It could be possible."

Her shoulders shrugged slightly, "I do what is necessary and what comes naturally to me. Though you're right, I don't really deal well with the living, and death doesn't tend to bother me all that much. I have lived through countless numbers of wars. I've always buried the bodies after each one. After so long, you understand how it's a part of life." It was the whole living with other people that she didn't get, she understood death quite easily, but living and having to rely on other people, that much she just wasn't good with. And it wasn't as if she was trying to hide it.

Truthfully, it wasn't her real name but generally most people had a hard time pronouncing it, so she gave it up ages ago. Her head just nodded in agreement, seeing as how they were both being polite to each other and she didn't necessarily want to turn it into a snarking match. At least not yet.

When he brought up the elf, she pictured one in her head attacking like a rabbit, though why a rabbit, she'd never know. Perhaps rabies sounded like rabbit. In any case, she actually gave a light chuckle. "I've no doubt that eventually someone is going to bring something in here that is just as bad as what killed all those people out there. And everyone is always in other people's business. Like it's some human sitcom on their television." Her eyes rolled.

"It's so true. You know, if you do something wrong, it's going to be all over this Wine Bar. On the plus side, at least you know where to go to." He took a sip of his drink before he continued. "Just wait until the trial starts. Then it will turn from a sitcom to a drama. I'm sure all twists and turns will come up. This isn't like the life we had back before the whole clicking of the red heels." Though in some cases he really though his life was better here.

"I bet witnesses will get killed, people manipulated. Considering that we've just had a vampire that has been rumored to kill people now be considered not so bad since he fought against another guy less than favorable around here..things are completely fucked up."

He couldn't help but laugh just a little. "It's almost like we can say it's just another day here." In truth, it wouldn't be a lie. "Sadly though. Despite all the crazy going on, I would have to say life is easier here. You can chose not to give a shit about things and not have to pay the price for it."

To be honest, Jordan was a bit surprised that a lot of her antics weren't spread around by now. Not that she'd done a whole lot besides pester some people who had otherwise pestered her first. Oh and she'd caused that guy's lighter to explode in his hand, but hey, he'd asked for that. Though if she heard some rumor about a bitchy djinn, she'd definitely know she hit the jackpot. "Exactly, just what I need, people to talk about me. Oh right, a trial. I heard about that. A three ring circus if there was ever one. How about you supposed to find unbiased people in a place like this?" she shook her head and took another sip of her drink.

"It's a sad, funny little world when all the lines get blurred and you can't tell the good guys from the bad guys anymore." Not that she had any room to talk, because she didn't know which one she was at all.

It was nice having an actual intelligent conversation with someone that didn't involve provoking her. "I suppose that's on the plus side of things, yes. It's easier, for now at least. Things never stay the same."
