Who: Scarlet and Leon
When: Afternoon
Where: The Medical Pavilion
What: Scarlet vents and yells at Leon

With the increasing amount of troubling events going about the town, Scarlet could only imagine that Leon might actually have more people using his services. It wasn't easy for people to ignore the rumors. Some may be so troubled that they didn't feel safe. Sometimes not being safe meant needed to talk to someone. In fact, as she neared Leon's office she saw a young man leave his office and she kindly stepped aside so he had room to walk by.

She stayed by the door for a moment and took a breath. One would think she was calm since she greeted almost everyone that she saw in the Pavilion. However, once she got into his office, she shut the door probably a little harder than she meant to and pretty much, like a high school student to another punched him hard in the shoulder.

"That was the dumbest idea in the world!"

She sat in the chair across from him and crossed her legs and arms. "You know what? Late night meetings are called off. It makes me agree to the worst things ever. I should have went to the archives alone. if I did, I wouldn't feel so horrible." She hit him with all she had, so she sure as hell hoped it hurt. Sure, it was immature but she needed to be pissed at someone other than herself. Luckily, she wasn't the only person who made the descision that she talk to Chris.

The recent days had been increasingly busy for Leon which had surprised him. It obviously wasn't a bad thing, he felt comforted that people were finally speaking out on how they felt about the rumors and the situation that was currently weaving through the sanctuary. Recently, he would see people walk curiously by his office and then pass. Almost like seeing him meant they were crazy. But they didn't have to have a conversation with him as a shrink. Now that he was on the Vice Council he could just be somewhat of a regular person to talk to. What was it with the whole psychologist thing?

When the young man left, he gave a sigh and expected a few moments of relaxation. However, Scarlet came barreling in and gave him a very painful hit to the shoulder. For a girl, she hit like a football player. He could tell a bruise was already starting to make itself known on his skin. "OW!" He clutched his shoulder for a moment and almost gave her a scold before laughing.

"Did...Did..you just hit me?" He rubbed the sore muscle and used his free hand to hit his desk lightly as if that would help the pain. "Christ, you hit like you weigh three hundred pounds. If you're trying to get some sort of comfort, you shouldn't have hit me."

"It's not funny." She stated almost with a pout before she glanced towards the door she closed not so gently. "And you deserved it." Running a hand through her hair she returned her glance towards Leon. "I'm not sure if I did a good job. It's been bothering me. I should be more focused on getting this whole ordeal over with, but all I can think about is if I did it right." She didn't know if her fellow Vice Council member understood what she was talking about, but she continued. "I tried my best. I always tell my self that's what counts. But I still think you should have talked to her. Maybe she would have felt more comfortable. Maybe she would have been less angry."

She slightly raised a finger at Leon. "And you have to listen. Punching, yelling Vice Council member or not. " She showed a light sign of a smile before she continued.

"I just tend to not put people's feelings into consideration at times, you know? Then I feel bad about it. Or in this case I went in there telling myself I would get answers and I was totally surprised by what I heard. A few months ago I wouldn't have really been affected by what the girl said. I would have just grilled her probably until she fell asleep. I think I'm turning into a psychologist who lives in his office more than his own home."

"It is funny when you storm in here and punch a Psychologist as an introduction to wanting some advice." Leon somewhat raised a brow. "Or to bitch. I'm up for either or. I've had a lot of bitch-ers come in within the past few days and they are incredibly fun to listen to." In truth, he was really trying to get her to lighten up. He wasn't going to just delve into the "aww what's wrong?" ordeal before trying to calm her down. "And I deserved it? Here I am minding my own business and you come in here via blitz attack."

It wasn't hard for him to put together what was wrong. The funny thing was, Leon believed that if Travis hadn't pushed for her to talk to Chris after Leon had suggested Scarlet to, he would have. Just because things were of a sensitive subject matter, it didn't mean the shrink had to dash on in to handle it. The Vice Council members were picked for a reason and being able to connect with people on some level was one of them. "Listen to me." The therianthrope leaned in towards the distressed dhamphir. "You tried your best. That's all that matters and if you keep telling yourself that you "fucked it up" you're going to be even more snippy. It's hard enough to deal with you how you are normally, you know." He teased, but what he was saying was serious.

He sighed as he leaned back in his chair. "No. I'm not going to talk to someone every time it appears like there may be a more "fragile" situation. How the hell are you, or other people going to learn how to do things if you just send me in there to do the uncomfortable stuff for you? The girl was upset, you can't expect her to give you a hug and call it a day. If you feel bad about what you did it makes you a good person. Just because you're on the Vice Council it doesn't mean you have to believe this job is easy. It's not. There are qualities you posses that I wish I had."

There was a glare after he finished speaking. "I spend a good amount of time in my home, thank you. And yes, you can be inconsiderate, but that's just a quality people tend to forget because you have many good qualities to make up for being stubborn, bossy and..well like you said at times inconsiderate. Think of it this way, Scarlet. If you're worrying about it so much, it means you most likely did a great job. If you just finished feeling like your job was done, it would almost mean you didn't care."

"Okay, I'm sorry." Scarlet drew out her sorry sarcastically. Of course she wasn't sorry. She would have done it all over again if she was allowed to. The dhamphir was still hoping that a nice bruise was showing itself and spreading too like a disease. In the back of her mind she knew she didn't have a right to be so pissed at a simple decision. But it was her and the front end of her mind still believed she had every right to be as mad as she was. "Oh you did deserve it. It's killing me too that you're whining about it. You must have a low pain tolerance." She almost snapped towards him. It was somewhat in a playful manner, but she needed a reason to argue so it was snippy all in the same.

It was unbelievable how comforting Leon could be. He just sounded so..relatable. She supposed she expected to walk in here and he would try and...she didn't know. Fix her? For some reason hearing him outright tell it like it is brought some sort of relief. He was telling her it was all right in the ways of the shrink, but at the same time she felt like she was talking to a best friend who was telling her to toughen it up. That's right she did try her best.

Scarlet was then caught of guard by how firm he was. It was true. She guessed by default she expected Leon to run along and do the emotional things. But if she didn't get off her ass and take care of things that perhaps made her feel more...human then she would be conditioned to never feel sympathetic like she did on the day with Chris. "...I just don't like...like.." She fiddled her fingers in her lap. "Feeling vulnerable. A young GIRL made me feel vulnerable. I don't like that. I don't like being put in that damn position."

Shocked that Leon wished he had qualities such as hers she gave a very confused expression. "Excuse me? Name one. I'm only asking because I think you're just saying this to make me feel better. Especially since you named some of my faults."

Running a hand through her hair she sighed. "Maybe I sometimes care too much without even knowing it."

Leon was kind of surprised himself at how upfront he was about talking to Scarlet about the situation. But he guessed since she was such a "tell it like it is" sort of woman she wouldn't want some sort of sensitive advice. She would want to hear comfort without sugarcoating. That's just what he did and it felt good not to always have to be careful not to step on eggshells. She felt more like a friend which made what he said easier. There was no sense of nervousness that he may have offended the fellow Vice Council member or told her something she couldn't handle hearing. It seemed like she actually calmed down a bit.

"Everyone feels vulnerable at least from time to time. We're all..okay I would have to say human thought that doesn't apply to the both of us. But we're both normal in our actions. If we didn't have moments of feeling vulnerable or down on ourselves we'd be some cardboard box or robot. It's never good to not have instances where you feel like your guard is down. So what? It wasn't a 500 pound creature that made you feel a little shitty. You felt vulnerable because the job you were elected for comes at a price and you witnessed one of them first hand. You experienced a little thing called feelings. It's a wonderful things, those emotions. Despite the fact that you don't like it, naturally things are going to affect you and that's okay. This won't be the first time where you'll feel like this. You're not in Kansas anymore. You have to constantly remind yourself that though you're still you, you've witnessed things that I believe have not made you as "tough" as you try to be. Not to mention coldhearted."

The therianthrope laughed when he needed to state a quality he liked in Scarlet. "I wish I didn't always feel like I needed to fix things. Besides what you're going through now, you usually can say and do things then move on. You're confident and you take a lot of ballsy actions regardless of what others may think. You say what you want, when you want and if I could get away with doing that, I would. You don't take no for an answer and your bossiness is sometimes a good quality though sometimes it does drive me a little crazy."

He shook his head a little. "There is no such thing called caring too much. Not caring enough? Yes. Caring too much? No. I don't believe so anyway."

"You know, it's kind of nice knowing that I'm not a human. It's weird." Scarlet turned to look out towards the window. "I used to want to give anything to be a human. But it seems like...I've come to accept who I am and being human frightens me. It must be hard. Just being..normal."She laughed suddenly. "Off topic I know. But I always thought I never would accept being "different." This place however makes me think I'm one of the more regular looking ones. I just have a set of sharp teeth and can take a bit more psychically strong than humans. Sadly, I'm not so sure that always applies emotionally."

Scarlet listened to what Leon said fondly. He spoke like she would want to hear. She wasn't annoyed when he told her to pretty much just accept her feelings and move on. She did however throw a fake angered face about being coldhearted. "Hey. I happen to have my heart way out of the fridge thank you very much. If you had to deal with me outside of this haven you would have hated me." She looked down with a light chuckle. It would be a shame if they never met. They clicked well. Leon was great guy. He never talked much about his personal life. But whomever he had in the past or who he was interested in the future would be very lucky. They got a very wonderful gentleman and a shrink in one. She was feeling color coming to her cheeks so she had better stop thinking so much.

His compliments only kept the color to her face. She could feel the warmth. "Well-um. That's very kind of you. Believe me, it gets a lot of people angry with me and I think after some meet me they think of me as a bitch or someone who is always one way and can't be nicer, or more understandable. I do whatever I have to do to get something done..but in the long run I just want people to know that I'm not hard to approach. I just view work as more important when things are incredibly serious such as now. That's why this is a big deal to me. I don't want to mess up. I don't take failure well."

Kicking his chair lightly, she smiled. "I know I am bossy. It comes with having a high position at a company. You Mr. need to be more bossy. You just listen and never say things like they are unless with me."
