What: Nico decides to take Umeko on an impromptu date

It had been far too long since Nico spent any quality time with the girl who had managed to capture his interest for more than five minutes. It had only been a few days, but that was 'far too long' in Nico's book. He would have been happy to see the girl every day, but he didn't want to come across as needy or clingy. He had to stay aloof; that was the only way to hold a girl's interest.

But that didn't mean he couldn't be spontaneous, did it? Nico thought spontaneity was something that girl's thought was romantic. Plus he did miss seeing her, but that wasn't something he was going to admit outright. The half-sprite planned to whisk the therianthrope away from her bungalow for a night out at the restaurant. After that... well, he'd play it by ear.

The rain might have been a problem for Nico had he decided to not use his power. Unlike some other people he knew Nico didn't have a problem manipulating things for his advantage. He stopped the rain until it was nothing but a drizzle, and knocked on Umeko's door with a gift behind his back. It wasn't a bouquet of flowers, but something that he thought Umeko would appreciate more. He just needed her to open the door so he could give it to her, and so he could dry off before he took her to dinner.

Umeko missed Nico and she almost wanted to send him a sort of cute letter stating that she would stab him if he was seeing someone else. At the end of the letter though she would add a smiley face and a heart. But she felt a frown coming to her face when she brought up the fact of them being boyfriend and girlfriend. Were they? Man, boys could sure play around with girls and make them get all light headed and eager to know those things.

Maybe she could go to his house naked? No, that would seem too "do me" over wanting to see him and going over as a panda was maybe too "cute". Damnit! She wanted to be somewhere in the middle. This was starting to suck since she was really starting to hate not seeing Nico and she had a certain "kid" to take care of that was asking all sorts of questions about him. Her favorite was something about him and her boobs. All she knew was that she was laughing about it for hours.

When Umeko heard a knock, she checked through her curtain window to see who it was like she was a spy. When she saw it was Nico, she freaked. As in teenage years, "I look like shit" freaked. She shoved her new "roommate" into his room and scolded him not to come out. She sprayed the room, herself and ran around trying to find a decent set of clothes. Getting dressed quickly and at least brushing her hair out so it didn't look like she had been electrocuted, she finally opened the door.

Though she wanted to jump on him, she leaned against her cottage once she stepped out. "Long time, no see." She attempted to say calmly. But it was easy to see the joy in her eyes. Awh hell, she couldn't stay cool.. Moments later, she near pounced on him.

"Where have you been, butthead?!"

The distinct sounds of life could be heard on the other side of the door, but no one had come to greet him. He rocked on the soles of his feet, back and forth like an air-filled punching doll that had nothing to do until someone came along to play with him. Nico started whistling idly until the moment the door flew open wildly. The sprite smiled. Despite all the hustle and bustle he had heard Umeko was as calm as a windless summer day.

He thought the nonchalant attitude was cute, but her eyes sparkled in the same way his did. Nico really had missed her, and he didn't realize just how much until that moment. "Hey," he said just as calmly until she pounced on him. He nearly dropped his present, but he managed to hold it in one hand while wrapping the other around Umeko's body.

He didn't answer her right off the bat choosing instead to enjoy the feel of her body pressed against his. A blanket of warmth overcame him, and he felt oddly at peace. "Missed me, huh?" He couldn't help but smile at the thought that she had missed his company. Nico didn't have a lot of experience with women (though he liked to pretend he did), and it was nice to know that a girl liked him as much as he liked her.

"I have something for you," he said suddenly. "But you're not gonna get it until you let me inside." Nico chuckled a bit. As much as he liked their current position he would be happier if he could dry off a bit.

"Right, Right!!" She replied eagerly and almost hit her palm against her forehead while still attached to Nico. He came all this way to visit her and she was going to leave him in the rain? How silly of her to do so! Even though she was going to ask him about his cool power thingies but she was too in the moment of seeing Nico again. She wanted to ask him if he was off taking some other girl to some romantic lunch though the weather wasn't as favorable, but she stayed quiet. Though Nico seemed like such a smooth talker, Umeko doubted that she would be treated like a rebound.

"Of course I did! I hope you got my Christmas present. I know it was kind of lame, but hey it's the thought that counts." She pinched his shoulder lightly. "At least it better." She joked before getting off of him slowly. She felt strange thinking so, but it was awfully nice being on him. Wow, how panda of her. Either that or..yes probably perverted of her.

She opened the door and was relieved when she smelt nothing but fresh air. "This present better be nice you know. I've been waiting for you." Umeko was always a joker, she never expected much.

She let Nico go inside before she followed him and closed the door.

It was Umeko's carefree personality that attracted Nico the most. That and the fact that she was hella cute. And sexy. And a lot of other things to the sprite. He really had never liked a girl as much as he liked her, and he was wading through the sea of emotions as carefully as he could. He didn't want to mess things up with her, and that was saying a lot.

"Yeah yeah, I did get your present," Nico said. There was a slight tint of pink on his cheeks afterward, and he cleared his throat to reign in those feelings. "Thank you for it," he said with a quirky grin. He wasn't going to say it out loud, but Umeko's present had a permanent spot on his bed, and he sometimes sometimes cuddled up with it. "Nah, it wasn't lame," he said reassuringly. "It makes me think of you... so yeah, it's good." Nico rubbed the back of his head nervously. He had felt like such an ass for not getting her a gift in return, but he wasn't a holiday gift giving sort of guy unless it was his family. Still that didn't take away the pang of guilt he felt.

"I'm sorry I didn't get you anything, you know, for Christmas," he said. "I'm an ass, so if you're mad over that then I don't blame you. And I meant to come by sooner, and shit, but Zach was going through some shit, and I was hanging out with him and..." Why did everything he say sound so stupid all of a sudden. Nico rubbed the back of his neck this time, and looked at Umeko with sad puppy dog eyes. Completely unintentional, of course.

The present he had brought for her was still behind his back, balanced precariously in one hand. He brought the wrapped box around his body, and held it out to her. "I dunno, I think it's a pretty nice present," Nico said with a smirk. "But what do I know, I'm a dude." When Nico really thought about it, and thought about what Umeko liked there was only one thing he thought she would appreciate: A PSP. A portable Playstation game system for a girl who liked video games just as much as he did. It was his own device, something he had brought with him when they came to Elysium. But it had stayed in storage until now along with the twenty or so games and movies he had. The magical generators made it possible to use small electronic items, and to recharge batteries like the one the PSP had.

"So... open it," he said almost nervously. Nico wanted to see if Umeko would like the present, but then he was also faced with the possibility that she might not like it at all. That thought scared him, and he began to shake his right leg. A nervous gesture as he waited for Umeko to unwrap her gift.

Umeko gave Nico a playful hit over the head when he apologized about the gift for Christmas. "Hey! I was Santa Claus! You don't give Santa Claus a gift in return." She began to tease. "So technically you are cheating. You are breaking all the violations." She leaned in towards him. "But I won't tell. Promise." She was a sucker for those puppy eyes. She tried to mimic them to try and show the Sprite what he looked like, but she probably just looked like she was trying to turn into her panda form and was failing miserably so she stopped. She certainly wasn't making fun of him. He looked adorable and it really made her miss polaroid cameras or cameras in general. Though some tough things were going down in the sanctuary, moments like these were memorable. Nico losing his cool a little.

"Dudes can get cool gifts too you know." Umeko stated like it was a matter of fact before she dragged him towards the couch once he gave her the gift and made him sit down with her while she opened it.

When she opened it, it may have seemed like she didn't like it. But really her mind was screaming and jumping around like a teenager on acid. This was her life in a tiny little machine. She would play video games until she passed out and fell asleep, or until she felt sick, or when she was sick. She thought she was the female master of the gaming universe. Not to mention she was a designer for the gaming world. So, the PSP was like getting the rarest diamond in the world.

"Ni..Nico..I..I..I can't take this. This must...where did you?" She looked over at him with doe like eyes. "This is the best thing ever. Like I mean ever. I don't know if I deserve it." She set it in her lap and ran her fingers over the controls. "This...seriously is so amazing, you have no idea."

Nico talked big, and acted like he dated tons of chicks, but the truth was that he wasn't as experienced as he claimed to be. He liked women, and he was a huge flirt, but he had never been in a relationship that lasted for more than a month or two. The feelings he had in those relationships couldn't even compare to how much he liked Umeko, and so he was going to do his best to not fuck things up.

The short silence after Umeko opened the gift made Nico's heart dropped. She hated the gift, and now he'd have to get her something else. He began to rack his brain for another idea until Umeko started to speak. He turned to face her, and his worry immediately dissipated. He let out a relieved sigh, and then watched as her fingers roamed over the controls, and the smooth screen.

"Oh yeah, well I got it from the Best Buy down the street here," he joked. He poked her side playfully, and then watched her with a sincere gaze. She was really special, and he was happy that she was happy with the gift. "Don't worry about it," he said finally. "I wanted to give you something that you'd like, and you like video games so..." He nodded his head toward the PSP. "Just so long as you let me play it sometime we'll be cool." He smirked at Umeko for a moment before he leaned in close. Hey he just gave her an awesome gift, the least he could get for it was a kiss.

Umeko didn't just give the guy a kiss. She pretty much threw herself on him, relieved that they were already on the couch. Blindly, she found his lips and no, she didn't care that her kisses her messy. She just was so grateful towards Nico and pretty much fangirling over the fact that she was a girl that had a boyfriend that knew her well enough to give her something as amazing as a PSP. Talking in between kisses, she constantly thanked him and finally paused for a moment.

"Are kidding me!? This thing is a huge excuse for me to be able to see you when I wish!" She thought about all of the games she had for the console that she thought were useless. But now thanks to the half sprite, now she could play whenever she wanted to. That just made her start to kiss him all over again.

Blushing, she stopped and sat back up, setting the console down on the table nearby. "I-I'm sorry that I got so carried away. I-I just can't believe that I've found someone like you." She shook her head quickly. "I-I mean not like we're dating! If you don't want to.." She raked her fingers lightly against her legs. "But..I wouldn't mind."

Nico did not mind the sloppy kisses, and he fervently returned them. His hand roamed up her leg, and found a place to rest on her side. The sprite had half a mind to lie the girl down on the couch, but he didn't want to seem pushy. Every thing he usually did with chicks was put on hold for Umeko, but only because he really liked her. It was how he showed respect even if it was really really hard to do.

He smiled at the words she managed to speak in between their kisses. Nico chuckled a little, and pulled Umeko just a little bit closer to his body before she stopped completely to put down the console. He took a deep breath as he tried to slow down his heart, and the blood that was rushing through his veins. He was a teenaged boy, and he couldn't help the reaction he had to the girl who was practically all over him. He cleared his throat, and tried to cross his legs to hide his arousal. It wasn't easy, and it definitely wasn't comfortable, but he could manage.

"Nah, don't say sorry. I liked it." He bounced his eyebrows at her, but he couldn't stop his mouth from hanging open when she mentioned dating. The last time Nico was in this position he had fucked things up majorly; rather, he got bored with the girl, and had broken things off with her. He didn't want that to happen with Umeko, but he didn't want to say that he wasn't dating her, either.

"Yeah... yeah, definitely," he said. He placed his hand over her hand as it raked against her leg. "Dating." The grin on his face was wide, and he was happy at this new revelation. It was nice, really nice.
