Who: Adela - Open!
When: Early in the morning
Where: Just outside the Magical Supplies Shop
What: Opening up shop

Truth be told, Adela was very much a morning person and a night person at the same time. She was one of those weird people who could get up with the sun and be as right as rain even if she was secretly feeling groggy from having little sleep the night before. Though perhaps she wasn't as perky on those days, she was at least still pleasant and functional. It had been one of those nights however where she hadn't gotten much sleep at all. And it wasn't even that she was out partying or having a good time, it was just that she kept having stupid bad dreams.

Mostly about her father dying, though in the dreams it wasn't him dying like he had. It was him dying from the virus. Though that was silly since he hadn't been human any more than she was. Still on two different occasions she woke up with a start and found it difficult to get back to sleep. And now on her way to work, she was trying to get herself psyched up for another day after all it was New Years Eve and if she had a wish, it would be that there was a party maybe. One she'd be invited to. When she got there, she opened up the door and let herself in. After getting herself nearly ready for the day, she opened the doors for business.

However she didn't stay inside the store, she thought today might be a good day to try and reach the little bits of snow that were still covering the sign from the last snow fall. It hadn't melted and was covering most of it but it had been just too cold for her to try. Today though she'd brave it. She put on some nice woolen mittens and got out the stool and climbed up so that she could reach. After brushing about half the snow off, the all too common happened.

She started to wobble. And when Adela started to wobble, it was more than likely she was going to fall down.

Victor knew as always to walk by his sister's bedroom when she was sleeping like a person walking on eggshells. One crack and she'd be awake and bitchy all day. He couldn't have that, especially if he was going to be working at the Restaurant. Few employees he trusted enough to "shoot the shit" with could always tell when he wasn't quiet enough to get by his sister. He was kind of a dick.

Before he left it had occurred to him, via their shitty calender that it was already going to be the first of February. Huh. Time seemed to be going by abnormally fast. Maybe it was not thinking about being in the haven, working, or currently the rumors going around that a killer is in custody. He felt bad for that guy once he got out.

The Lycanthrope was avoiding work for quite some time and checked out the other locations. Victor checked out the bakery, the art supplies shop and finally he went towards the magical supplies shop where he noticed an oddly familiar lady. What was even more odd was it looked like she was about to fall down.

Victor grabbed her elbow with his right hand and tried to steady her better by putting his left hand on her lower back. He was tall, but the stool gave her a bit more height. After waiting a moment, he smiled.

"You know for one thing, you don't look like the maintenance type. Second, you have no idea how dumb this is. I mean this in the nicest of ways."

Odd? That was a normal occurrence sorry to say with Adela. But feeling a hand at her back and at her elbow as she was wobbling on the stool, she managed to put both of her feet firmly on the top and planted herself still on the stool. She might have turned around more to spot who it was, but she didn't trust herself not to fall flat on her face again. Instead she turned her head and spotted a familiar face. It made her smile quite brightly, and she even laughed.

"No, I suppose I don't but I swear I'm the only person around to do it! Uh huh. I'm sure you mean that very nicely. The sign needs to be read!" she explained exasperatedly, but she wasn't actually upset. She was still smiling and laughing. Of course that made her wobble again, and then she laughed some more. "Okay you're right. This is dumb. I need to stop laughing before I hurt myself. Victor.. how lovely to see you."

Abandoning the snow on the sign, she finally got herself down from the stool without managing to fall over and turned so that she could see him completely. "I didn't know you were here! Well I guess I'm not surprised, but really."

Victor was glad to know that Adela hadn't changed (or so it seemed) since the PV virus. It was hard to keep ones spirits high after living through the war and seeing so many unpleasant things. Victor couldn't say that he had changed much. Maybe he had become a tad more grateful for the things around him. But personality wise he knew he saw things more on the negative side. "On the plus side of you hurting yourself, you're surrounded by potions and various other things that might be able to help." He figured if the Herbalist had some pain killer like substances, so would this place.

"It's really great to see you too, you look wonderful." He extended his hands out. "Well here I am. I can't say I'm surprised you're here either. How long have you been here? Did you come here with anyone? " The Lycanthrope stuffed his hands in his pockets as if he was afraid to say who happened to tag along with him.

"My sister is here. You haven't met her and believe me, that's a good thing."

If going through two world wars hadn't changed Adela, it was very likely that she wasn't going to change after this past one. She didn't see the reason to go and change her whole life, even if she didn't have anyone left anymore. Even if she was all alone. It didn't stop her from smiling brightly and putting on the best happy face she could manage. And his negativity had never bothered her. In fact she kind of liked it. "That's true, I'm in a very safe place. I would imagine, anyway." It wasn't like she knew what went where.

"It's lovely to see you too. You look great," she gushed slightly. "Seems like everyone was coming here eventually. Can't get away from it really. Oh I've been here.. a couple of months? Not too long really." She shook her head a bit, "No. Well.. there was group, but honestly I don't know them so it might as well have been just me."

She gave a small smile. "Oh your sister? No, I'm sure I'd know it if I met her." She heard stories after all.

Victor gave a slight look of embarrassment. "You know, there aren't many redheads around and I can't believe I haven't spotted you. I've been here since October." He was glad he didn't go to the All Hallows Eve festival. That's when the whole murder bull shit began. But at least he made it here. He guessed a few murders was a small price to pay instead of still searching for a sanctuary.

"I went with a group too, but I don't remember them either. I'd say there were only about ten of us at the most anyways." He then grinned slightly cheekily. "I'm glad it's just you. There is nothing wrong with that."

When it came to his sister he waved a hand dismissively. "If you see a woman with black hair wearing nice clothes that looks pissed off, that's her." Tapping the stool, Victor looked at the sign. "I'm not interrupting anything I'm I? I can let you get back to your sign. Or you know, help you with it since you and and anything that wobbles don't mix."

Giving another small giggle, Adela shook her head. "Oh it's all right though, I haven't really been.. out much I guess. Usually here or .. home." It was weird calling the place she lived now home, but you took what you could find, she supposed. "October? I've only been here since November abouts. I've been just.. inside a lot." Her shoulders shrugged a bit. She could have blamed it on the the cold, but what was the point in that?

"There wasn't that many of us either, it was just one of those spur of the moment things. I couldn't.. stay where I was anymore," she said a bit sadly. Then her cheeks started to blush a bit, "Oh you are, are you? Well you're very lucky because I'm all by my lonesome. I suppose no, there's nothing wrong with that." He always seemed to know how to make her blush, even now.

Her head nodded a bit sharply, "Black hair, nice clothes, looks like you. Right. I'll head the other direction, swear." She had no real desire to meet the woman, but she knew it was rare to avoid everyone in this place. "Oh no you're not interrupting at all. No no, you've saved me from falling on my face and hurting myself. I owe you. Though well I suppose you could help, but I'm not quite sure."

"I make it a habit to make you blush." Victor could almost laugh at himself at that statement. Living secluded, then at a business then with an elderly man hardly had him good with women and frankly he didn't give a damn. He didn't see the hype in being good with flirting with women. If you seemed to connect well with one, then you were all set he guessed. he grew fond of the red head and she was pleasant company. Did he have feelings for her? Well, that was for him to know.

"I don't mind helping at all. The Restaurant has plenty of employees so one less will do no harm." Shrugging his shoulders, he thought Adela should know about the place. "The food there is actually just as good as home. When I got here I was expecting medieval food. But the food is just as well off as home. You should come by sometime."

The Lycanthrope walked slightly ahead of Adela and to the entrance of the store. "I heard they have potions here to make people's hair grow. What's one of the weirdest things here?" He began to move a box to the front end of the store. "Whatever the stuff is in this box, it smells like shit."

"Yes, I quite remember how much of a habit you made it. It doesn't help that I'm easily susceptible to flattery and blushing." Perhaps she might have done it easily, but that didn't mean he wasn't good at making her blush. She always seemed to when he was around. The time that he'd spent with her and her father had been one of those times she looked back on with lots of fondness. And if she had feelings for him, well they were just as well hidden.

Glancing up at the sign, and then back down to him she shook her head. "Well if you can reach up there to knock the snow off the sign or figure out some way for me to do it without hurting myself, then I'd be extremely grateful, but no rush." She curled her arms around herself to protect herself a bit from the cold. "Oh yeah? I kind of thought it was going to be all awful too, maybe I will then. If it's as good as you say."

Following him back towards the entrance, she just laughed a bit. "There are potions that make people's hair grow, and some that makes hair go away." She glanced at the box that apparently smelled awful and started to laugh. "Well that's because it's got dung extract in there. I think it's for growing bugs or some nonsense." She didn't know what half the stuff in there way, though she tried to learn. At least a little bit. "Or maybe it's just bottled cow farts."

Victor almost dropped the box he was carrying not just from laughing, but from the thought of cow farts and dung extracts. "Okay, it's funny when someone says the whole dung and cow fart thing. But when you say it? It's got a whole new sense of hilarity. I don't know. Like it wouldn't come out or your mouth of something." He put the box down in the corner of the room and moved away from it to avoid the smell. He moved down an aisle and continued to talk. "About the sign. I promise I'll take care of it."

He picked up a bottle and hopefully lifted it high enough for Adela to see it. "Hey, how would I look as a blond? I think I could work with it." God, he'd look terrible. Knowing Victor, he'd knock the potion over, so he took his time returning it to its rightful place. "I think I found something normal." There was a long steady amount of silence. "Never mind. I'm quite well off in that department."

Veering around the corner so he could see Adela again, he folded his arms. "I think it's pretty well sorted from hygiene, to vanity products to health related products. I have no idea what the hell some of the other stuff is. But at least you'll know what aisle one through three is. It must feel like running some odd drug store. The Herbalist is unique too, but this place I'd say is the most creative in the market area."

Adela had to laugh a bit, shaking her head. "Oh is this kind of like how people get amused every time I say a dirty word or curse or whatever because I sound like a twelve year old when I'm saying it? I don't know why that's so funny. It could very well be cow farts in there for all I know. You'd be surprised what they bottle those days.." she didn't blame him for putting down the box at all. It did really reek. She wandered behind him, still grinning. "Thank you Victor, I owe you something. Anything you want."

Gazing up at the bottle, she looked from it to him and then back again. "A blond? No offense but.. not on your life. Brown maybe. Though blond would be better than red. Red doesn't fit on just everyone you know.." she fluffed her own hair a bit teasingly. It was amazing that she hadn't knocked over and broken everything in this place really. "You look just fine the way you are though.." At least that was her very honest and very humble opinion.

"Mmm, well I don't do the sorting for the most part. When it comes to actual merchandise they tell me the less I handle it the better. I have no idea why though, it's certainly not as if I'm a klutz.." she said sarcastically, trying to look as innocent as possible which didn't come across at all. "Hmm, yeah it does feel a bit like running a drug store actually now that you mention it. Just with lots of magical stuff instead of mundane ones. I don't know, I just sell the stuff."

"Come on, it's incredibly funny hearing someone with a delicate voice say words like shit at times. Cow farts, maybe it wont be as funny next time. But when you take it to the next level? I just can't get over how funny it is. Once people hear you, it's like they won't stop trying to get you to say words that are entirely inappropriate. You're totally right. It's like a twelve year old. I would even downgrade it to a five year old sometimes."

So she owed him, well he could think of something. "We have some catching up to do. Being in a Magic Shop isn't always the best place to do it. Though one of my dreams is to see you drunk, we can always catch up at the Cafe or the Restaurant." Of course he guessed he was teasing about the drunk part. That might have been hilarious. Not to mention cute.

He shook his head about being a brunette and smiled at Adela ruffling her hair. "There isn't ever going to be a red head like you. I don't think people can pull the shade off." He was flattered about Adela's compliment and he was honest about his flattery as well.

If it was like a drug store, he couldn't help but take another playful shot at Adela. "I'm sure there is Advil like potion here for when you trip and hurt yourself. It may take some searching, but there must be "klutz" potions around here."

Just for that she kind of wanted to let out a string of curse words just to make him laugh a whole lot. "It's like when you try and get a child to say something dirty too isn't it? Trying to teach kids naughty words because it's so funny when they do? Hey, five year old! Now that I just take offense at, I do not sound like a five year old." She put her hands on her hips and just glared at him a bit playfully.

She hm'd a bit, "We do have some catching up to do. I could always close the store for a bit and go somewhere if you want." She paused in the middle of whatever she was doing and turned towards him. "You want to see me drunk? Why do you want to see me drunk?" she asked with a laugh, looking slightly confused about it. Had she ever been drunk around him? Probably not.

When he ruffled her hair, she batted at his hands and sighed a bit. "No, you're probably right. And it's all natural thank you. No magical properties needed." Or anything else for that mattered. And she did like him just the way he was, she liked him rather a lot actually.

She poked him in his side for that smart remark and hmph'd. "There is I'll have you know and I use most of it. So you're right, you smart ass." Honestly she did hurt herself quite a bit and generally cleaned herself up with some of the things they had around.

Victor kind of mocked Adela's expression of pretending to be upset at his playful insult. "No, you don't sound like you're five. You did when I knew you before, but now you sound lovely." He teased. Though the lovely part was quite true. It was oddly fun to tease her, yet toss in a compliment in at the same time.

He was somewhat flattered that she would close the store and spend some time with him. He couldn't remember the last thing that he told her, so it was good to take some time to catch up. Good and bad was always good to get out in the open. He'd feel even more comfortable around her.

So Victor couldn't help but laugh at Adela's expression when he told her it would be funny to see her drunk. "I don't know. Considering it's funny to hear you curse, I think it would be hilarious to see you drunk. I see you as a light weight."

Victor was a smart ass and he liked that in himself, he wouldn't lie. "I try my best to keep the smart ass quality around."

Making sure he didn't hit anything when he leaned against a shelf, he tilted his head slightly. "The Wine Bar seriously is a nice place. I can't wait until it's warmer though so I can go to the Tiki Hut. It seems really incredible there. I always remind myself how much I underestimate this place."

As he mocked her, she reached out and nudged him a bit with her arm. "Oh stop, you're going to make me hit you and blush at the same time. You're awfully confusing, you know that?" And she meant it a bit. Though she knew that teasing was generally a way of flirting a bit. And flirting with him was something she liked doing anyhow. It made her feel good about herself, made her open up a bit more when she'd been kind of feeling reserved.

It was true, she wouldn't close up the shop for just anyone. Only him really, because she did want to catch up. Even if it was with or without drinks. "Oh I don't know, you might be surprised and I might drink you under the table. Then what would you do? I could challenge you to a drink off. You'd lose. That would be fun." She grinned.

"You do a good job of being a smart ass, don't worry." She looked around a bit and then back up at him. "The Wine Bar sounds lovely. There's a Tiki Hut? Really? Oh now that sounds like fun. Do you want to go? I really can close up the shop," to be honest she wasn't quite sure if he was serious about the going to get a drink thing or not. He might have been, but she'd wait and see.

Victor gave an amused chuckle then nodded like Adela could take him on. Being a Lycanthrope meant that he could pretty much drink much more than most species. So, if playing a drinking game with her could actually happen, he would love to see how it would all go down. "You know what? Why don't we go out for drinks one day?" Crossing his arms and looking at the ground he somewhat muttered. "Soon, you know?" He didn't want to come off as over eager to see her outside the shop, but it would have been more than nice.

"It's pretty damn cold now for the Tiki Hut, but I do believe that some brave souls do indeed go. The Wine Bar has its moments where it's rowdy and all, but I think we can manage. How about we go?"

Well of course he could drink way more than her, but that's probably why she was trying to challenge him. You couldn't just admit you were a light weight around other people. "All right, let's go. And we'll see about drinking you under the table." Honestly she was more than happy to go out with him and get out of the shop. Holding up her finger, she went and got her stuff and closed down some of the lights and shut down the register and some other things. Once she was done, and she hadn't burned anything down or fallen on her butt, she came back over to him. "Okay, we can go. Tiki Hut or Wine Bar.. either's okay by me.."

Then she just had to shut down the main lights and lock up and they could head out. She just grinned back up at him, bouncing on her feet slightly as they headed out the door and back out into the cold.
