Who: Adrienne and Danté
When: A little past midnight
Where: A path toward the freshwater lake
What: Danté follows through on a threat

The full moon was waning, and despite the chill in the air it was enough to make Adrienne go out for a walk. It was a beautiful night; blissfully quiet, and peaceful. Adrienne felt as if she were in a wonderland, something that wasn’t too far off from the reality of Elysium. There were times the lycanthrope still couldn’t believe that the haven was real even though she had been there for almost a year. She took a deep breath, and felt the clean air filling her lungs completely. Was the air ever this fresh in Chicago?

Her feet took her toward the freshwater lake, and though it wasn’t her intended destination (she really wasn’t headed anywhere in particular) she didn’t mind it at all. Adrienne was reminded of Lake Michigan every time she went there, and it always brought back good memories.

But that wouldn’t be the case tonight.

Bad memories were just around the corner, and they would rear their ugly head sooner than Adrienne ever expected.

He had been watching her more closely than usual. How Adrienne could be oblivious to his presence was uncanny, but it was something that Dante was glad for. He didn’t want her to know he was there, and so he stalked quietly from behind bushes several feet behind the girl. It reminded him of times when he was out there – when he was free. Free to stalk women, and free to play out fantasies in his mind to the point where he’d have to play them out in reality. This was his element, and he would savor every minute of it from beginning to end. Adrienne was his for the taking. All alone without her fucking boyfriend around, or her god-forsaken friends; he was practically salivating with anticipation.

Dante looked up at the sky. The full moon had passed over a week ago, but he did not need it to shift. He called forth the beast from within, and the change came quickly. There was no hiding the sound of breaking bones in the still of the night, but he didn’t need to. By the time Adrienne realized what she was hearing his transformation would be done, and he would be upon her with all of his dark fury.

She heard the sound of cracking bones, but dismissed it as nothing. It never occurred to Adrienne that anyone would be following her. It was the same mistake she had made over a year ago when she was first bitten. It was a cold night then, too, and Adrienne didn’t stop to think about the similarities between then and now. Why would she? She wasn’t in Chicago, and Elysium was a safe place. Besides, lightning never struck twice in the same place, right?

This wasn’t lightning. This was pure, unadulterated rage, and lust. It was everything unclean that resided in Dante, and he was going to unleash it upon Adrienne. He leapt forward – a dark beast in the night beneath a pale moon. There was only a growl before his body collided with hers, and he sunk his teeth expertly in her left shoulder. His claws dug through the material of her jacket and into the muscles of her arms. This is what he needed, and he had no intention of breaking away too soon.

It was the last thing Adrienne expected, but when it happened all of her worst fears came rushing to the surface. She didn’t have a chance not when there were teeth in her shoulder, and claws in her arms. She let out a scream; long and loud in the night. The memories from long ago were flooding to the surface, but that didn’t stop her from fighting back. Adrienne was a fighter. Always had been, always would be. Unlike the first time Adrienne had the strength of lycanthropy on her side, and she pushed against the heavy body on top of her. She still wasn’t a match for another werewolf when she was still human, but she could struggle to get out of its grasp.

“Get off of me!” She wasn’t begging, but demanding it of her attacker. She kicked back on the other werewolf, and pulled her arms away from the claws. Her jacket ripped, and the nails dragged along her flesh, ripping it open and spilling blood from her body. Adrienne grunted, but with her arms free she could try to crawl away.

Dante loved it when they fought back. It was intoxicating – like getting a shot of pure adrenaline. He let go of her shoulder only long enough to pull her back to him. He purposefully pierced his claws deeper into her body. He wanted her blood to spill – he wanted to paint the ground a crimson so deep that it would last forever. He descended on her shoulder again, closer to her neck this time and much deeper than the first bite. Adrienne’s blood was sweet, and he brought forth a bloodied claw to grip onto her dark hair roughly. He yanked at it, pulling some of it free from its roots as he used it to fling her aside.

Adrienne almost thought this was a nightmare, a virtual reliving of the horrific moment when she was made into a werewolf. Except this time no one came to interrupt the beast before it could do anymore damage. She was alone, but she was not beaten. Even as the unknown werewolf flung her aside like a ragdoll Adrienne still found the strength to push herself to her feet. Her entire shirt was soaked in her blood, and she could feel herself growing lightheaded from the decreased plasma. She couldn’t use her left arm, but she didn’t need her arms to run away. She probably shouldn’t have turned her back on the werewolf, but it was the only way for her to get away.

Get away? Did she really believe that she was going to get away? Dante let out a howl before he went for her again. IT didn’t take any time for him to catch up with her, and he brought her down roughly. There was no point in being gentle with his most prized possession. He flipped her over onto her back, rough paws curled around her slim shoulders tightly. Dante pulled her up, and forced her head back against the ground. He did it again several times before he sliced away at the jacket at her chest. Her neck was still bleeding, and he leaned in to lick at the blood. Her blood was a part of him now, and he savored it like a baby suckling on its mother’s teet. Dante bit down again, a third wound so close to the other two that it would not close anytime soon.

He stopped finally, and looked down at her face. Her beautiful face was left untouched, and perfect. She was perfect, and no one else had any right to be with her. Dante licked at the blood splattered across her cheek. There was a distinct grin growing along his muzzle. He enjoyed his time with the precious girl, and he hoped she did too.

It might have been a futile attempt but Adrienne was going to try with all her might to escape the insane lycanthrope. Even as he tackled her again her goal was clear. Get away, and survive. She had lived through her first attack, the virus, and the war. She was not going to let some psychopath end it all now. Adrienne was flipped onto her back, and she took a long, hard look into the werewolf’s eyes. He was familiar, but the gravity of the situation didn’t allow her to think that clearly, not when he kept bashing her head against the ground. She only wanted to survive, and so she kicked at her assailant with her knees, and feet. Each attack she delivered was weaker than the previous, and when he bit down on her again she didn’t have any strength left at all.

Adrienne barely remembered the sadistic grin on the other lycanthrope’s face, or the fact that he licked her cheek in a loving manner. She was left there on the ground, blood pooled around her slight form. Her breathing was labored, and every beat of her heart sent more blood out of her body. She didn’t want to move, and sleep seemed like a really good idea then. She knew she couldn’t though. Sleep would only make it worse. Death was not an option, and she was going to fight to stay alive.

Logan Nagamori: Elysium's Official Body Finder?

Logan couldn't sleep. It wasn't an odd occurrence for him. Insomnia had always been a burden he'd lived with. He had considered going into the living room to work, but Mitsuko had fallen asleep on the couch and he didn't want to disturb the tiny white fox all curled up there.

He decided a walk would do him good. Maybe it would help get him to sleep. At the very least, it would give him something to do. And night was a good time to walk. There was less chance he would run into anyone. He didn't have any fear walking alone. Rumour was that Hayate had been brought in. It was Hayate who had been causing all the strife. But now, it wasn't a worry. That was done and he would never get out, not if Logan had anything to say about it.

So Logan made his way out, the air cool and calm. He wandered through the cottages of Helicharis, out towards the lake. He didn't know how long he'd wandered. His mind drifted over his friends and family, the situation with Hayate and how that must have been affecting Chris (he couldn't help but feel a perverse sense of pleasure at Hayate's arrest).

As he walked, Logan spotted something ahead. At first, he wasn't sure what to make of it. His brain had gone blank. It... Wasn't possible. There shouldn't have been... Blood... Another body....

Part of him wanted to run away. It had been bad enough finding the bodies of Kaiya and Faye. He didn't know if he could deal with another dead body, not after so many. But he still moved closer. He even began to run. He needed to make sure it was real, that his mind wasn't playing tricks on him.

But it wasn't. It was real. But it wasn't a corpse. She was breathing. She was bleeding.

She was Adrienne.

Logan's eyes widened with shock and horror as he realized exactly who the broken girl was. Thoughts of his friend came flooding to him. Oh God... Zach... Mitsuko... He wasn't close to Adrienne, but he was certainly close to people who treasure her.

"A-Adrienne," Logan stuttered, his voice weak, laced with fear. He swallowed hard, trying to push down the horrible feelings racing through him. "St-stay with me. Please."

He needed to get someone. He needed help.

No, he couldn't leave her alone. Her blood-- her life-- was rapidly leaving her. Careful of her injuries, of her broken body, Logan lifted her. He was not an overly strong young man, but Adrienne was not terribly heavy.

He needed to move quickly. The Medical Pavilion.

He didn't know how he got there. He didn't know how he moved so fast. Maybe it was part of his Kitsune heritage coming out. Maybe he was just running on adrenaline. Maybe he was just tired of losing people.

He traversed the landscape with Adrienne cradled in his arms. By the time he got to the Medical Pavilion, he was winded and exhausted, but that was nothing compared to the girl.

"HELP!" Logan hoarsely cried. He gently placed Adrienne down as doctors rushed to them. "I found her..." Logan managed out. "Just.... Help her...."

As the doctors took over, Logan gave himself over to his newfound exhaustion and the shock of the situation. He watched silently as the doctors began to take care of the injured girl. He didn't know how this was possible. Not when.... But he was in jail.... He cradled his head in his blood-stained hands. It couldn't happen again. He couldn't see the dead body of someone he cared about. There had been too much loss already.
