Who: Hayate & OPEN
When: Evening
Where: The dungeon in Town Hall.
What: A lone vampire in his cell. Any visitors?

The cell was cold, even for a vampire. Hayate could feel as much as he lay in the uncomfortable grip of the dungeon. It was a part of the underground layers of Town Hall, the part kept hidden from innocent eyes and known only to those who needed to know it. No sunlight reached these floors below. His eyes looked up to the ceiling, catching only the light of the faint lantern above his head and those along the hallway of cells. He saw nothing but concrete and smelt nothing but the cool, dank soil seeping through the cracks in the foundations. It was like a crypt in this place, and his only other company was the Elven guards standing watch outside of his cell. They believed their magic enough for his strength and their iron enough for his hold. He had yet to test it to find out for sure.

Hayate had been in this position before, but only once — captured in Argentina for strangling and mutilating a couple in a hospital hallway. It was a long story. Suffice it to say, a vehicle collision left him in critical condition and drained of blood. He awoke possessed and took the lives of the closest humans. They locked him in a local jail, but he broke out of it that night and fled the country.

That, however, was nothing by comparison to this. Escaping was easy when one had an entire world to disappear into afterwards. No matter where he ran, he was stuck under the watchful eye of the ten councils. They were the new United Nations, all bound together in brotherhood with common principles. He had nowhere to run but the barren wasteland beyond the havens, and even his chance of survival there was slim.

He had told them nothing, but it was only a matter of time before everything fell apart. Still, Hayate sat in perfect silence in his cell. He remained quiet — and, most of all, he waited. What else was there for him to do?

Jamile finally got Sanura home in the late afternoon and though Sanura just wanted to let things go, Jamile wasn't that type of girl. No, things just weren't tossed in the garbage and forgotten when her baby sister was hurt. Jamile did something about it. She wasn't the gun ho threatening type, but she made sure to give clear messages.

The Therianthrope usually obeyed her sisters' wish to be granted privacy on certain matters, but this was different. She couldn't just say "Oh sure, let's not talk about what happened to you." Though Adio had told the oldest in the Hart family that she couldn't make her sister talk about, she could. Or, she could find some answers. It wasn't about proving her authority, it was about making sure her family stayed safe.

Sure, her sister didn't describe the person who attacked her but Jamile found it a little convenient that someone was brought to the Town Hall dungeon shortly after Sanura's attack. It might not have been for the same thing, but she was going to find out for herself. The first step was getting the Elven guards to let her see this man. Basically, she did the "this is non negotiable, get the hell out of my way." routine. She wasn't letting anyone get in her way.

It felt like it took an eternity to get to the dungeon and the smell was rank and unsettling. But for someone like a criminal suspected of doing horrible things, it was just perfect.

Jamile went before the man, a shadow casting over half of her face. Sanura and her used to look a lot alike when they were young. Not so much anymore, but they somewhat sounded alike.

"You got yourself quite the home here. Maybe get a couch, a dresser and a rocking chair and you'll be all set." She looked for a clean spot on the wall and leaned against it.

"....I thought you'd be..." She tried to find the word for it. For someone rumored to hurt Elven guards he seemed so well....not the part. But never judge a book by its cover. "Taller."

Hayate heard the voice of the stranger, but it had a familiar ring to it. Ah, yes. The girl from the shack a few nights ago. She sounded similar to her. He slowly turned his head towards her direction, catching a full profile of her face despite the faint light and shadows dancing around her features. She even looked like the girl. It brought a small smile to his face.

Her joke regarding his height was hardly lost on him, but also, he hardly gave a damn. Hayate was never what people expected him to be. He was not about to expect people to read him ahead of time now. Always underestimating him, they were. Always winding up half alive on the floor, too. To be quite honest, he preferred things that way. It kept it easier — kept things smoother. He was there one moment and gone the next. Maybe, if he was lucky, he could do it again this time.

“To what do I owe the pleasure of your company?” Hayate inquired lazily, raising a single eyebrow as he spoke. “Miss . . . well, whatever your name is.” Frankly, he could not find it in him to even care about her name. He was more interested in how he could get out of here than how many people thought it interested to chat with him for the hell of it. He gave her a sad look, blue eyes turning brown under the light. It gave them the appearance of being larger. “I’m afraid they are all out of rotten tomatoes.”

"Oh believe me you little bleach blonde monster, the pleasure is going to be all mine." She'd get to the details of that threat later, but for now she guessed that introductions were in order. Why not? "My name is Jamile. Pretty easy to remember. You don't strike me as the person who tends to forget things. Of course there is the part where you don't give a damn. I can hear it in your voice. You look the part too."

She walked close enough to him where she was more visible, but didn't want to get too close to him. "You're in a jail cell that smells like the butchers shop and shit. Though I can't hurt you and" She did a bit of a "look at me" with her body. "even if I tried to I bet I couldn't."

Least not in her current form.

"Answer my question." There was no please. Her tone was more than stern. "You're the one who hurt my sister, weren't you?" She wasn't afraid of eye contact, even if this man gave her an unsettling feeling. Jamile wasn't sure if he could sense even uneasiness easily so she had to put on her best mask.

Hayate raised his eyebrows. Apparently, she was not very fond of him and she did not even know him. He wondered what brought this onto her and, considering her looks and voice, surmised she must have been related to the girl who got away from him. Hayate let out a deep sigh, his shoulders rising and falling with the motion. “Hmm, Jamile,” he echoed. Hayate pursed his lips. “I don’t know. I might forget how to pronounce it, Jah-mill-ay.” He drew her name out derisively. She would get the point.

If he knew one thing, he knew people did not announce a weakness if it was real. It sounded like bullshit to him, but he did not say anything out loud to it. Hayate only taunted as much as he needed to. He was not the type to go into overkill for no reason at all.

However, at her question, Hayate furrowed his brow. Her sister? It must have meant his assumption was correct. She was related to the girl. “Who is your sister?” Hayate asked her with just as much conviction. “Because, as far as I’m concerned, I don’t know anyone who’s been hurt.” Hayate was good at acting. No, he was not just good. He was perfect. It was an art form he had spent centuries perfecting, and people wished they could read him. It took another master to know the face, though. Even then, it was not a guarantee.

Jamile did not have the skills, nor the years on her. Hayate rose from the bed and slowly approached the bars. The guards noticed this and turned, like trained statues, to face the cell. The vampire was almost touching the bars, though, and his arm extended past them at a careful pace.

“If you somehow think it was me, then why don’t you go ahead and do whatever it is you want?” Hayate inquired with a quiet, pained voice. “It still won’t change the fact that I haven’t done anything and that I don’t belong here, but maybe you’ll feel better and you’ll leave me alone.”

"Well, how nice of you to ask about her name. Would you like to know her hair color, eye color and I don't know weight and height?" She wasn't afraid to move closer, even lean in a bit. "And are we talking before or after you almost killed her?"

She let out an amused chuckle tied in with a sigh. It was the only thing that was going to save her from showing full signs of weakness. That and obvious signs of wanting to strangle Hayate if she could. It pained her that he was good at keeping himself nuetral, unreadable. For all one knew, he was misunderstood and innocent. Jamile couldn't, didn't want to know what she would do if he walked out of the horrid dungeon.

"Let's be honest. You don't give a shit about what her name is. You're a blood sucking ass. But for entertainments sake, her name is Sanura. brown hair, five seven and she has an accent just like mine. She's so skinny I was realived she even made it out alive."

Oh, Jamile wasn't afraid to come close to the bars. If the gaurds told her to back off, she would only tell them that she was a big girl and she could handle her damn self. "You see, the element of suprise is a wonderful thing. Sometimes people seem so vulnerable and easy to piss off or hurt. But when it comes to who they truly are? In my family's case, you better hope that these bars are your sanctuary for quite a long time."

Ah, so this little kitty was not backing down from believing it to be him. He should have known as much. She was definitely close to the girl, and most likely even related to her. Hayate could see the resemblance in the eyes and the face. There was something familiar about them, after all. He reigned in the urge to smirk at her, to incite her further into anger at him. Would an innocent man really do that? Hayate wished to keep himself clean of as much suspicion as possible, looking forward most of all to his release. If he taunted the hurt family of a victim, was he really going to get very far in proving his innocence?

Hayate closed his eyes, backing away from the bars. He turned his head down toward the floor and tried to think of what to say to appease the lady, but nothing came to mind. Perhaps silence was the way? He continued to back away from the bars until he reached the bed and sat himself upon the edge.

His voice, stretched thin from distress, spoke like an echo towards her. “If you’ve only come here to taunt an innocent man, please leave.” Perhaps the beaten routine worked better with her than the former one he tried. Either way, he was at least giving it a shot. If she didn’t believe him, then he wasn’t going to push too hard in trying to make her believe. He still had to keep up the act, though. There was no breaking it if he wanted to get out of here — and he did.

OOC: I'm sorry, I just really suck D:

"You're not innocent." She sighed. This was useless. She guessed he could be a ruthless monster one moment and the next he was calm as a summer's breeze. "I want to see you put to justice...If that doesn't happen." It was all in her eyes that she would deal with it herself. Of course, she didn't want to do it in some monstrous way because that would make her just as bad as he was. Plus, the dungeon confines didn't seem so favorable.

She straightened herself out before she turned away from him. "Enjoy your stay here. Maybe eventually you can get some musical entertainment." With that, she left, her footsteps echoing in the distance. She knew this man hurt her sister and he was going to pay for it.
