That Bitch. [Edelia Brea] ([info]tenebroso) wrote in [info]nosuchplace,

Who: Edelia and Adrienne
When: Afternoon
Where: Art Supply Shop
What: Oops!

The whole tug of war regarding shop authority between Daiyu and Edelia was getting pretty heated. Sometimes Edelia would draw some pretty unique designs on the shop only to have them painted over by the bitch. Sure, at first Edelia understood the whole stocking preference thing by perhaps colors over name or whatever they were fighting over. But now it was getting ridiculous. The rival was purposefully stocking messy cans on top leaving the paint to drip all over the cans beneath. She knew Edelia would come into the store in the morning and clean the shit up. On the plus side, Edelia did tinker with a ladder and cause the annoying excuse for a haven occupant to nearly break her neck.

On this morning, the Naga was on edge. Her hands were doused in paint while she cleaned up yet another clever "get back" from the metahuman. She was cursing left and right and when she just about had it-she found a few of Daiyu's drawings and paintings scattered across the back of the shop. Her grin was wide and menacing while she gathered the pieces and began to throw them outside.

Now, Edelia was inconsiderate and ruthless. It was one thing to throw someone's paintings outside, it was another to open a can of paint and begin to toss bright colors of blue and green unto the rather nice drawings. She was flinging the paint carelessly unaware that she could actually hit someone passing by. All she had were two things in mind. One being that the elven guards could pick up her mess and two, this was a great get back.

It had taken a few days for Adrienne to fully recover from the full moon, but when she had she was up and full of energy. There was only so much of staying indoors that the lycanthrope could take before she got bored out of her mind. It was the perfect day to be outside, too. The weather was warmer than usual, and despite the slight breeze Adrienne was able to go outdoors with just a sweater.

The dark-haired girl had stopped by a few shops before she made her way toward the art supplies. She noticed that Zach had been drawing more lately, and she wanted to pick him up a few things as a surprise. As Adrienne neared the shop the last thing she expected was to get the front of her jeans splattered with paint. She stopped right in her tracks, and looked down at the mishmash of color on her pants.

"Oie! I like blue and green, but..." she paused and looked down at her jeans again. Her initial shock calmed significantly, and she smiled a bit. "But I guess it looks kinda cool." She admired the colors, and then noticed the paintings on the ground that were also covered in blue and green paint. Adrienne couldn't help but also notice the angry scent that was coming off the paint flinging girl. She took a step toward her, her head tilted curiously to the side.

"Um... are you okay?"

Edelia gave the "up and down" to the female. She wasn't the type to say sorry to someone, but she didn't blow the stranger off. "It works for you. Before you know it, people will be copying you." She set down the next can of paint she was about to splatter all over Daiyu's paintings and sighed, using a clear spot on her forearm to wipe her forehead. Secretly, she was glad that the female wasn't upset with her. She would have hated to whoop someone's ass. Better yet, bite them. Edelia needed to get it in her thick skull that she could get her ass kicked as well.

The Naga laughed when asked if she was okay. "I don't know how to answer that." She sighed and quickly went into the shop for a moment to hand the young woman a towel. "You see, this girl I work with she pisses me off to the point of insanity." Edelia admitted. She didn't know why she didn't just tell the stranger to leave. "She messes with me, I mess with her and as the days pass by it gets worse and worse."

Wiping the paint on her own pants, she gave out her relatively clean hand. "I'm Edelia." Oh boy, she...she was going to say it. "And...I'm...I'm sorry about the pants."

Had Edelia splattered paint on Adrienne's jeans during a time that was close to the full moon the outcome of the scene would not have been as civil as it was at that moment. As tough as Edelia might have thought she was, an angry lycanthrope would have been much tougher. Thankfully, it didn't come down to that today, and Adrienne was in good spirits.

"I thought that paint-splattered jeans went out in the 80s," she said idly as she looked down at her pants. She'd have to be careful not to smear it otherwise it would just turn out worse. She sighed a little dejectedly, but shrugged it off. There were a lot of things worse than getting paint on her jeans. And her shoes, she noticed. There were specks of paint on her sneakers as well.

Adrienne bit her tongue to stop herself from saying anything else, and instead listened to the girl complain about a co-worker. So the mess in the front of a shop was the result of some sort of feud? Adrienne heard of lesser things that people fought over so it really didn't surprise her. She just nodded as Edelia talked, glancing occasionally at the now ruined art on the ground.

"So you do this often," she asked with a grin. "Put paint on her stuff. I'm guessing she does it to your stuff, right?" Adrienne accepted the towel from the girl with a smile, and wiped at some of the stains, sopping up the gooey mess the best she could. "Thanks for this," she said sincerely as she continued to wipe at the paint. Maybe the colors would come out if she washed her jeans tonight. She'd have to try.

Adrienne looked up when the girl introduced herself. The werewolf accepted Edelia's hand, and shook it firmly. Nothing like a firm handshake to make a good impression, right? "Adrienne," she said. "Nice to meet you. And don't worry about the jeans," she added. "It's not like it hurt, right?"

“Actually.” Edelia began. “You can pull off any look today as long as you do it right. Take for instance all these stupid asses I see in ripped jeans around this joint.” Her accent got a little stronger since she was pissed off about the style getting old. When she spoke faster sometimes her words seemed to “trip” over one another. But if she was asked to repeat herself, there was a nine out of ten percent chance that she wasn’t going to. “Some look like such idiots. It looks like their dog ate about one forth of their jeans and then the person decided hey that works. No it doesn’t. They need to be ripped in a certain way or you look like a douche trying to be cool.”

Getting a cloth for herself, Edelia continued. “I am sure the Magic Potion shop or whatever can have those cleaned in no time. Once, I got black paint all over a white shirt I had and it went away thanks to a potion.” Edelia felt nice enough that she offered that advice. The young woman could have just been stuck with that look. But she was sure the girl knew such things. Not everyone around the place was an idiot. Dominic was cool as well. But a girl who was a friend would be nice. She knew she was catty to girls more than men.

The Naga sighed when it came to Daiyu. “Oh not always. Sometimes I try to get her to fall off her ladder when she is shelving. I have also almost rigged a paint can to fall on her stupid ugly face. One of the most accomplishing things I have ever done was sneak into her house and draw a giant pornographic picture in her living room in charcoal. It’s been hard for her to get the most disturbing part cleaned off.”

She decided to continue her niceness. She didn’t know. Maybe she needed friends and this girl seemed the type who could be a good one. She met Zach, he was cool though she bailed on him. Edelia hoped she saw him again just to at least apologize.

“I. Uhm. Have some tea inside…if..you want some. Plus any art supplies you need today are on me.”

The smile on Adrienne's face grew when Edelia started talking about fashion. The subject wasn't Adrienne's forté, but she could give her opinion about things she did or didn't like, like ripped or painted jeans. She didn't say anything though, not when the girl was on a roll about how silly people looked in their so-called fashion.

"I'll have to remember that," she said in response to getting a potion for her jeans. "Thanks." Adrienne smiled again as she continued to wipe the paint on her jeans. Using a potion was an option, but it was just as easy to keep the paint on her jeans. It didn't really look that bad, at least not from the angle she was looking. How it looked to other people was an entirely different matter.

Causing injury in response to a prank was a bit extreme in Adrienne's opinion, but the werewolf didn't know the extent of the feud between the two art shop employees. Maybe it was natural for the both of them to hurt one another? Adrienne didn't know, but her curiosity made her want to know.

"Is that normal for you guys?" She chuckled a bit, and then shook her head. "Remind me not to get on your bad side, Edelia," she said in jest. "My dad would just pass out if something pornographic showed up in our living room. My brother on the other hand..." she trailed off, laughing a little bit more. "Well if you retaliate with porn I think my brother would make you mad on purpose."

The offer of tea was welcome, and Adrienne nodded. "Yeah, tea sounds nice. And I do need some supplies. Not for me, my boyfriend. Thought I'd surprise him."

Edelia gave almost a devious smile. "Yeah, it's normal. I'm thinking we'll end up in body bags one day because we'll simultaneously stab each other in the chest." She stated candidly with a shake of the head. "We just are both opinionated bitches who instead of being a team of bitches, are bitches who clash." She hoped that made sense. Edelia was just one of those girls who got it out and said it instead of putting it gently. Kind of like salt on the wound over neosporin.

The Naga laughed when Adrienne explained how her family would react. "I'm single. So if your brother wants to come here and make me mad and draw porno pictures, hey. He can feel free." Adrienne was pretty, so she could only imagine that her brother was good looking.

She motioned for Adrienne to come inside with a small smile and went into the back area for a moment to get the tea and two cups before she came back and set the kettle and the cups down. Shortly after she set the sugar down as well. "It's raspberry flavored. My favorite. Seriously, it's like the best." Oops, she forgot about the business part.

"So what can I get you?"

Adrienne had relationships that were like the one between Edelia and her coworker. It brought a smile to her face, and she nodded to show she could relate. There were just people that you didn't get along with, but instead of ignoring them you pushed their buttons until a fight broke out. Sometimes it was fun just to fight, but that was something Adrienne kept to herself.

The werewolf smiled a toothy grin at Edelia's comment about her brother, and arched a brow. Adrienne didn't normally play matchmaker, but she could see Jason being attracted to a girl like Edelia. "Single, huh? I'll have to send Jason this way next time." There was a small giggle as she entered the art shop for some supplies; it was the reason she came here in the first place. But that wouldn't stop her from enjoying the tea Edelia brought out.

The raspberry flavor was really good, and Adrienne made an "mmm" sound after she tasted it. "This is really good," she said with a grin. "Where did you get it? The café?" Adrienne took a few more sips before she told Edelia what she needed.

"I was just looking for a sketchbook, and some pencils." She paused for a moment. "They're for my boyfriend. He's the artist, not me."

"Yeah I sure as hell am single. You know." She talked in between getting the supplies. "I know it's not a big deal and all not to have a boyfriend, girlfriend whatever works for people. But here where life has turned upside down-I think about those sorts of things more than I should. It's not like back home where I could go to the mall, check a guy out and maybe I would see him again. This place has scary freakish vampires you wouldn't want to hook up with, or maybe just shady people all together. I guess now that I think about it, it was good to be the freak, then be among the many." She set down the sketchbook and pencils for Adrienne. "I don't mean that in a mean way at all, just suck at saying things in the right way."

When she looked back towards the tea she smiled. "You know what? I could use a break. Why don't I show you where you can get that tea exactly? I can get you a whole bunch of bags of the flavor at the cafe since this guy-ew not my type has a crush on me and is working there today. He'll give me whatever I want."

Edelia motioned for Adrienne to follow her before she put a "closed for break" sign on the art shop and walked with her new friend towards the Cafe.
