Who: Roswell and Elijah
When: Afternoon
Were: The Library
What: Offering some books!

"Can you do me a favor?!" Roswell somewhat hit her back against the library door, hoping that she would be heard within the interior of the building. "Open the door please!?" She had several books within her grasp, stacked high enough to cover the view ahead of her. She had doubles of all sorts of books and she usually, oddly picked the more worn out books as a keeper instead of the newer versions. She figured people would want the newer ones anyways.

"Come on! Please!?" Her hands were extended wide like she was holding a large bin and she was actually quite pleased that for a while she hadn't dropped a book within a few yards of her travels. One of her books she dropped at least seventeen times. She could smell the wet dirt and worried the book might be too dirty to donate.

Finally, someone opened up the door and Roswell almost fell backwards. Laughing it off, she headed to the closest table and plopped the books down. They weren't the average books such as books for children. They were Wiccan books, books on haunted locations, greek mythology books, vampire books, folklore-things of that nature.

When she saw someone who appeared lost, she somewhat waved them down. "Can I help you?"

How long had it been since Elijah had visited a library? All of his research had centered around alchemy, and he didn't need a library for that. He had Aubert's journals, and the experience from the laboratory to add to his knowledge. But now he had an entire building of knowledge at his fingertips, and quite honestly he didn't know what to do with it. He found himself wanting to look up history of the Elven sort; his trip to the abandoned palace with Nuray had piqued his interest in that subject.

But where would he even start to look? The library was huge, and he couldn't see any sort of system that organized the books. He was sure there was one, but he didn't have the patience to actually learn what it was. He just wanted to find some books, check them out, and go home. Was that really too much to ask? He sighed a little, and rubbed the back of his neck in frustration. What he needed was someone to do the work for him, and that someone came in the form of a young woman waving him down. He smirked a little - she was perfect.

"Yeah, you can," he said with a small grin. He walked toward the girl with measured steps. His trench coat billowed out behind him a little, his tie was loose around his neck. He wore a white, buttoned shirt as well. He was put together, and yet casual at the same time. "I'm looking for some history books. Elven history. Can you tell me where to find them?"

Roswell was glancing down at the moment. sorting through her books feverishly the minute she heard the word "Elven history". Her not having a book on the subject? That was like a vampire with no fangs! "Yeah, yeah! Of course I do. What kind do you want? I have some really neat books based on J. R. R. Tolkien's beliefs on Elven history, or I just have the basic European folklore!" She was really excited someone was asking her about something related to her interests compared to foreign language or children books.

She suddenly felt incredibly rude for not looking the stranger in the eye, because that might have seemed like she secretly wasn't interested in helping him. When she looked up, she fumbled the books she had in her hands.

"Uh-" She tilted her head for a moment, somewhat dumbly. "Uh-Uhm. We-Well. I thi-think I also have." She finally just dropped the books on the table accidently. "Wow. I guess everyone has a twin these days." Never mind the fact that she was staring at the stranger with wide eyes and some of the books fell on the ground.

"OhmyConstantine." She waved a hand while she picked up the books she dropped. "Like, the movie. Not the comic books because he looks much older and kind of like Kiefer Sutherland. But..the movie. You ever see that?" A blush came to her cheeks when she set the books down at the table.

"You look just like him. The actor." She began to go through more of the books that would fit his needs and just kept on talking. She really couldn't believe her eyes.

"Like people always knock his acting, but I think he really did a good job. I especially love him in Constantine. Such amazing abilities. I wish I could do spells."

She snapped her fingers as if trying to snap herself out of her daze. "Right, Elven books."

The girl was eager to help, and with any luck Elijah would be out of the library in no time. He smiled at her, and waited patiently for her to look through her books. "I was thinking of something real. The history of the Elves from this region, actually." Folklore didn't interest the elemental that much; his world had always been based in fact that it was hard to even read anything that wasn't based in reality.

The girl's entire demeanor changed when she looked up at him though. She fumbled her books, and even stuttered a little. Elijah stared back at her, a single brow arched in curiosity just as her books fell to the ground. Though the elemental could be a dick, he wasn't so bad that he wouldn't help the girl pick up her books. He knelt down quickly, and picked up a few of the books. The next few moments were like a revelation, and he finally understood the girl's reaction.

"Yeah," he said in a voice that was probably a little too similar to the actor she was referring to. "I get that a lot." People used to ask for pictures, and autographs from him under the assumption that he was Keanu Reeves. He would fuck around with some of them, going along with it until they left him alone. Other times he would correct them, and send them on their way. He hadn't been much of a movie goer back then, but he did make a point to watch the movies that this Keanu person was in. He had to admit, the guy wasn't half bad.

At least this girl wasn't annoying about it. He'd have to walk away if she was. And thankfully she didn't call him "Neo". That was probably the biggest comparison people ever made. "Yeah, the movie was good. He was badass." Elijah said finally with a small grin. Little did the elemental know that out of all the characters that actor ever played, he resembled Constantine the most.

He turned his gaze to the books - he really did want to get some information on Elven history. "Is there a section or something around here? For Elven history, I mean?"

"Oh, right! right! Silly me. I got all over the place." Her cheeks flushed easily and it almost looked like she got smacked in the face both sides of her face were so red. "Here, just follow me. I have this place memorized. It's pathetic since I haven't been here all too long." She admitted with almost a sense of shame. But who cared? It was better than knowing all the alcoholic drinks in her opinion.

"Yeah." Roswell said after his Yeah somewhat trying to match his tone. She laughed playfully saying she wasn't trying to be mean or anything. "Would you look at that? Without even trying you sound just like him too with every word you say." Roswell could see why he got the comparison a lot, but she wondered what his species was. Maybe the difference was that he wasn't human. Man, he was lucky. Being a human was boring.

"Good? That movie was great! I even have his alchemist tattoos! I'm a big believer on that stuff you know. People used to think I was crazy, but if they ever made it here? I'd be the one with the last laugh." She stated triumphantly, waving him down the middle isle.

"Follow me. I'll show you some kick ass stuff." She walked backwards for a moment to flash him a smile before she turned back towards their destination. Last thing she wanted to do was fall. Wow, she was such a dork. She couldn't get over how much he looked like her hero.

When they got to the area she made a circular hand motion around the books he was looking for. "Here you go. Everything and more." Instead of leaving she just stood there.

"..Uhm. What's you're name?" She offered her hand. "Roswell. You know like New Mexico. It will be easy to remember. My friend, well one of them from back home, She was named Wednesday. If people ever forgot her name she simply told them to remember that she was a day of the week." She went silent suddenly. She hated it went she went on and on.

The girl rambled. What was it with Elijah running into females that ran off at the mouth? Again he was glad that it wasn't at all annoying, or maybe he was just mellowing out in his "old" age and stopped caring about those things. He would have avoided such a person when he was younger, but now he needed her to help him navigate the large library. He could deal with her questions, and enthusiasm just so long as she kept on helping him.

He arched a brow at her when she mentioned her tattoos. Looking at the girl he wouldn't have guessed that she was the type to get inked at all, and now he wondered just how many tattoos she had on her body. Elijah only had one - the one for his element, and it was there on his back in between his shoulder blades. He was not sure why a human girl would have received alchemist tattoos, so he asked. "So you got tattoos just for the movie, or because of alchemy itself?"

They reached the Elven history section, and Elijah smiled in appreciation. "Thanks," he said as his eyes began to browse the titles. He thought she would have left him to his research, but she stayed there and even introduced herself to him. He accepted her hand, and smiled again. "Elijah. Not like a city, or a day of the week," he joked. "Roswell." And then Elijah did something very unlike him. He compliment her. "I like it. Nice to meet you, Roswell."

“Yep, I have more tattoos.” Roswell confirmed. Under the left side of the alchemy tattoo I have a quote that reads” No man dies for what he knows to be true. Men die for what they want to be true, for what some terror in their hearts tells them is not true.” By Oscar Wilde. And on the right arm underneath the other side I have a tattoo with a quote that reads “After there is great trouble among mankind, a greater one is prepared. The great mover of the universe will renew time, rain, blood, thirst, famine, steel weapons and disease. In the heavens, a fire seen.” By Nostradamus. I love all of his weird and scary predictions. He’s been right many times, you know”.

Roswell went to why she got the tattoo and her tone was very serious suddenly. The woman wanted to make sure she was taken seriously though she did seem a little crazy at times. “I believe strongly in Alchemy. I believe that people possess the ability. I also believe in what the tatto stands for. It protects people from the evils of the other side. Or harmful supernatural beings in general some believe. There are many things out there that are dangerous. Spirits, demons, vampires. The symbols represent protection and ever since I got the tattoo? I’ve been pretty damn lucky.” She cleared her throat and returned to being much more radiant. “Anyways!”

Roswell laughed and gave a playful look. “Now, now. Don’t be a smartass. I can kick you out for that.” She teased. “Thank you. I really like you name. Besides you being named after an actor named Elijah Wood…well..your older. It means the Lord is my God. But I am sure you already knew that. You seem really smart.” She knew that because she was going through a book of baby names since she wanted a cool name for a cat. She came across Elijah once. Not to mention she thought Elijah Wood was adorable. That little hobbit.

Well this was a first. Elijah had never before met, or seen a woman who had more than one tattoo who wasn't some sort of biker chick. Roswell was the complete opposite of a biker, and he couldn't help but be surprised when she described all of her body art. He wondered if she'd think him perverted if he asked to see all of them. The thought brought a smirk to his face as naughty thoughts usually did with Elijah.

His brow arched when she talked about alchemy. Roswell wasn't an alchemist; she admitted as much to him already, so her interest in alchemy was interesting. It was obvious, though, that her understanding of alchemy was mostly from movies, and stories that had been bastardized over time. When had alchemy become twisted with evil spirits he wasn't sure, but it was amusing.

"Alchemy's more real than you think," he said. "I'd have to see your tattoo to fully translate it for you." He had a feeling that the tattoo she had was one used in summoning rituals for elementals, or at least a variation of it. He could see how it would be interpreted as a symbol of protection since elementals basically protected their alchemists once they were bound. Then again he could have been off base entirely and it might have been something not even related to alchemy as he knew it.

Elijah had looked up the meaning of his name once before, but he indulged Roswell. "I think I heard that before," he said. It seemed a bit ironic that Aubert would give him such a name when the alchemist himself played God with elementals by binding them to human forms. "Was there a reason you were named Roswell?" As far as he knew the name of the city didn't have a meaning, and the only thing that was associated with it were stories of little gray men.
