Who: Nolan and Jia [Log]
When: Night
Where: Market area/to their homes
What Jia can be bad when she thinks it's for the good
He hated them. Those nightmares that kept him up all night, causing him to crave the deserted Market scene. Even awake and wandering the desolate area he could see remnants of his nightmare that caused the back of his head to hurt. Funny thing dreams were. They could make you believe you were back at the worst moment of your life. Nolan would wake up thinking there was blood everywhere, when really, there was nothing.
Nolan turned around quickly when he heard someone coming, their shadow intimidating. He then furrowed a brow when he noticed it was a very harmless looking Asian girl. It seemed like a bad idea for her to be out at such an our. After lighting up a cigarette, he moved towards her. "You-ah-uhm. It's pretty fucking dumb to be out this late."
Jia had fell asleep inside of the gift shop and for some reason no one had gotten her up. Maybe it was because her small frame was tucked within a small area near unseen to many of the workers. So now she was stuck wondering alone in the dark. She wasn't afraid as much as she was uncomfortable.
When someone spoke to her, she jumped. Annoyed, she turned the same question on him. "Then you and I are both stupid."
Nolan chuckled and flicked a few speckles of ash in her direction. "Indeed we are." There was obvious stress on his face but he wiped it off and motioned for her to follow him. "Don't worry, I'm harmless. Let's just get the hell out of here and back home. Where do you live?"
He began to walk and expected her to follow. He was being nice enough to escort her.
Jia was hesitant at first to follow the stranger, but then a breeze rolled in and she began to trot after him. "I live at the Water Bungalows! With my sister!" She actually sounded cheery when she said it, hugging her jacket firmly against her. Maybe after meeting Max and visiting the Town Hall made their relationship much stronger.
"You live with anyone?" Surely he must have, he was so damn cute. Though he kind of seemed mean.
"No." Nolan stated, his voice trailing off. It sounded distant, lonely. His house was rather large and sometimes he would look around and feel an empty pit inside. With nightmares of his past driving him crazy, it didn't exactly help.
"But..I don't mind." He lied.
Jia started to trail behind him a little. She knew that sort of voice. He was lonely, he needed people to be with him. There was nothing wrong with roommates! She caught up with him and brightly brought up the subject.
"What about roommates? Have you ever thought about that? I mean at least one."
Nolan interpreted her before she could even finish. "No-No fucking way. Unless they were hot girls, no way in hell."
Jia sighed, but then smiled. "Okay, then we will search for hot girls that feel just as lonely as you. That way you can maybe.." She nudged shoulders with him. "You know...AND have a roommate or roommates. It won't feel so lonely."
It took many miles to get Nolan to say "I guess" to the idea and he was so annoyed with Jia's nagging that he left her halfway. Jia was fine with that. Cleverly she snuck back home and with a little help from her sister she made some flyers for Nolan and stuck them in places he wouldn't maybe check all that often. Rooms in the medical pavilion, the tailors, the herbalist and various other locations.
The slightly evil part? She only said he was looking for a roommate or roommates. She left out specifics such as gender, age what he would like and wouldn't like. The poor guy just needed company.
Now what price would she pay for this little deed? She didn't really think about it.
Jia slept well that night and she hoped Nolan did too.
