Who: Adam & Aveira
When: Early Afternoon
Where: Combat Gym
What: Adam is letting out his frustrations. Watch out!

The elemental’s fist collided with the punching bag, exuding so much force it tore the bag right off the hook and sent the bulky punching bag flying a couple of feet across the floor. Sand poured out of the rip and spilled over the smooth wood below, and Adam gritted his teeth as he turned away from the sight. Without anything to hit anymore, he sent his fist flying into his other hand. A loud smack reverberated through the air, and suddenly, he was turning around and running toward the fallen bag.

Adam kicked it so hard it went soaring, sand showering over the gym until the bag landed in the bleachers with a bang. He took deep breaths, his chest rising and falling with the motions, but it wasn’t bringing the elemental any peace. His peace had been permanently disturbed by the news of Sanura’s condition, and she hadn’t woken up yet from her unconscious state in the medical pavilion.

It wasn’t often that Adam got this angry. In fact, he’d never been this angry before in his life. No one had ever tried to actually hurt someone he cared about before, and the feeling of hate rushing through his veins was as new as first steps and first words for a baby. He hadn’t ever experienced feelings like this, and he wasn’t equipped with handling them. Twenty-six years was a long time to live to have never known hate, but Adam was new to it. The cuts on her body weren’t accidental, the doctor had said. They were deliberate.

Someone had done this to her on purpose, and Adam didn’t have the person in question to use them as a punching bag. This would have to do.

Aveira was actually done with her work out routine when she observed Adam's little outburst of anger. She stood there silently for a moment, coming to the realization that she was enjoying his anger, not observing it. There was something so intoxicating about someone working out for the sheer reason of trying to take out their anger on some shitty sand bag. She tried to keep her mouth shut as she went to pass him, but she found herself staying a few feet behind him.

"What's got your pretty little knickers in a bunch." She folded her arms and tried her best not to let out a low laugh. Oh, she heard the rumors about a Therianthrope being attacked. Could this be related? Maybe she would find out in due time.

She moved closer, walking in movements that were more like a saunter. She was so close that when she spoke, her breath would cause Adam's hair to move like blades of grass. "From where I was standing it looked like you were throwing a temper tantrum. It was rather cute." Now she was laughing. It wasn't in a friendly way. She was mocking this stranger.

Adam whirled around to face the person, fixing a venomous gaze at the woman who spoke to him. She was mocking him for his pain, a pain that she saw clearly because Adam was no good at hiding something so new to him. In most cases, Adam could ignore blatant malice from someone else and smile it off, but this wasn’t one of those cases. Adam’s hands flexed and unfurled, stretching the cut-off gloves he wore on his knuckles. His fingers were free and itching for something to hit.

“You find this funny?” Adam asked her, his voice gravely serious. His glare alone showed how volatile he was right now, and she was pushing his limits. “Other people hurting is funny to you?”

It was such a stark contrast to Adam’s usual behavior. He was the happy-go-lucky elemental, but on the combat floor, his nature always took a turn for the serious. Add a surge of hate to that, and an explosive mixture was just brought into creation. That was how Adam was in his current state: A bomb waiting to go off.

“Why don’t you put your fist where your mouth is?” Adam suggested in all seriousness, and he opened his arms. He could feel the power of the earth rolling through them, giving him strength to prepare for battle. If she wanted a fight, then she just got one. He got into the proper stance immediately, the hand furthest from him beckoning her to come at him.

While Adam gave her venom, Aveira gave him sugar. She smiled at his hurting, she chuckled at his misfortune. "Oh, I find it very amusing. You punching that little bag as if it would cure this little anger of yours." She tossed her coat to the side and cracked her knuckles shortly after. "When really, you're adding fuel to the fire. It's just sand, pretty boy."

She felt an onrush of joy fill in her body when Adam stated he wanted a fight. She had bite. Her bark was was wonderful, but when she had her chance to sink in her teeth, it could be vicious and untamed. "Oh darling, I've been craving to fuck up a beautiful face." She swung at Adam's face, not ashamed to aim between the eyes and go right for the nose. What a shame to bloody up a beautiful face.

Then of course came the issue of watching him bleed. How could she resist having a taste? She'd have to walk carefully on that shaky bridge when the moment came.

She went to give him an upper cut next, before her leg hooked with Adam's to try and bring him to the ground.

"How's this pretty boy?" She asked between attacks.

Adam’s nerves were shaky at best, so he wasn’t up to performing par in an actual fight with someone. Then again, Aveira had the strength to match Adam’s own as long as he didn’t shift into his elemental form. Adam didn’t want to, though. He was soaking up the pain in his human form, feeling and dealing with every ounce of it. Maybe not dealing with it very well, if at all, but at least he still had feeling.

She moved faster than he anticipated, her knuckles landing on his face. It didn’t break his nose, but it caused him plenty of pain and a small trickle of blood to come down his upper lip. Adam didn’t even have time to wipe it away. He wouldn’t have, of course. He learned a long time ago never to take your eyes off the target. Not even for a second.

She wasn’t so lucky with her upper cut. Adam caught her arm and twisted her around, giving her plenty of pain as well in the upper arm. His feet were hard on the ground, never letting his weight topple over, but her leg hooking underneath his caused him to loose just enough balance to let her escape from his grasp.

Adam backed away, putting space between them. He needed to gather himself. He was losing control of his emotions. “It could be better,” Adam said, eyeing her from afar. Let her attack first. It gave him the upper hand to anticipate her next move.

Sweet Jesus, the pain to the arm caused her to hiss in frustration and she felt a sizzle of pain ripple from fingers to her shoulder blade. However, the vampire still had a smile on her face. Loser or not, the shit talking was still going to continue. She needed a moment to stretch out her sore arm while she tied up her frizzy hair with her better hand.

She watched the blood from his nose like a predator watched it's prey. Focus. If she didn't, she would be eating pavement before she could continue.

Aveira licked her lips before she gave a clever smile. "Baby face, you can do a whole lot better. Come on now sweetie fight me." She watched his eyes for a moment before she ran towards him and lifted her knee in attempt to deliver a blow to the gut. She wanted to see evidence of his pain on his face, but it was best to try and debilitate him elsewhere. Oh, she had nothing to do really for the day. So why not try different tactics?

Her words were only hardening his resolve to fight back. Adam sharpened his mind to focus more clearly on his opponent, even if he still wasn’t at his best. He started to think of this as a professional battle, not a sudden schoolyard fight. Adam didn’t know what a schoolyard fight was, but that was exactly how this one turned out in the beginning. Aveira taunted him, and he let his emotions get the better of them. At least he had a reaction instead of no reaction at all.

She came at him. Adam’s eyes moved quickly, catching the lower body movement. Too close for comfort, her knee came up but Adam’s hands blocked the blow by grabbing her leg—one arm under and one over. Her knee still jutted out and hit him a little, but he managed to soften the blow considerably and pull her leg out from under her. He watched with satisfaction as the woman fell to the ground back first, and Adam didn’t waste another second on his feet.

He descended to the floor with her in a grapple, twisting his arm around her leg underneath the knee and holding her other leg under the weight of his body. Adam leaned forward, hovering over Aveira’s face. “How’s this for you?” he asked, his tone cold despite the sweat and the heat surrounding his face.

There was a moment in this to play a game of "disgust and break free". Sort of like a girl doing something gross in elementary school to show the boys she could play dirty. If she chose to do so, it gave her such sweet satisfaction over writhing a bit like an animal. "This, puppy dog is very perfect." She gave a low chuckle. "Sadly, not for you."

Not confined enough, Aveira moved even closer to Adam's face. The vampire licked the blood clean from Adam's upper lip. Taking the moment of his potential shock to her benefit, she grabbed a hold of his face. Nails merciless in trying to poke into his flesh, she head butted him in hopes to loosen his grip.

In these quick few moments she knew that she wasn't dealing with a human which made this all the more exhilarating.

Needless to say, Adam was taken aback when she licked the blood off of his face. The temporary moment of shock did give her an advantage; he was too stunned to react in time, and she head butted him hard enough for it to actually hurt the elemental. Adam wasn’t often used to physical pain given his level of strength, but it was an oddly refreshing wake up call to suddenly feel it for once.

It shocked him awake, and he shoved her away as he pushed to his feet again. Adam balanced himself in place on the ground, trying to center himself as he stared her down. He waited for her to get up onto her feet before he charged at her at full speed and collided straight into the vampire’s tall frame — enough to knock the wind right out of her lungs.

If she wanted to play dirty, then he could play that way too.

The force was strong enough to drive Aveira to the floor with a giant "Umph!" noise. When her back hit the floors surface, it stung and it stung hard. Her chest felt a brief explosion when Adam collided into her and she was gasping for breath. But when her breaths weren't as severe, she started to laugh. "Now that hurt." And she liked it.

She waited for a moment to seem like she gave into defeat. Aveira was just dormant waiting for her breaths to flow out normally.

"Much better." She got up and made a "come here" motion. "Now come to mum so she can whoop your ass." She steadied her feet and readied her fists. Yeah, she was being cocky, but something had this boy ready to fight in not the cleanest of ways.

Adam’s thoughts rarely became too self-assured, but he noticed the fangs and recalled how she licked at his blood. She was vampire, and he knew he inherently had more strength than her. Vampires put up a strong fight, though, and if she had training, she was more than capable of taking him on. In fact, she had already displayed that quite well.

Adam tended to be careful with girls, but in this case he could make an exception. As he circled around her fallen frame, he waited for her to get back to her feet. He was not going to go easy on her, but he was at least going to be fair and give her a chance to get up.

When she was back on her feet, Adam charged and swung his fists. Once, twice, three times, and then four. All of it went by quickly as his fists fought to land on whatever part of her body they could. Flesh was flesh, and it was all the same to Adam. He wasn’t going to cheat and use his elemental powers. At least not yet. Not unless he had to.

Adam wasn't human, Aveira couldn't figure out what exactly he was. But he could fight impressively without the help of whatever ability he was harvesting. Her curiosity was almost clouding up a small ability of her fighting though she was secretly wanting to know if she bit off more than she could chew. This wasn't all about winning, it was seeing how angry a rather sweet looking guy could get. For some reason, it seemed like he was hardly this way. Or maybe he was, but he just kept it all neat and tidy within himself. Oh, how she loved those people. She met those guys at work and she loved them when they burst.

When the punches came it was an odd combo of block, blow, block, blow. Served her right she guessed. She felt her own blood drip down from her nose and her face then some sort of dizziness set in. But she wasn't finished until she couldn't get up from the ground.

Wiping the blood from her nose and lip, she shook her hand letting the droplets fall unto the gym floor.

"Why? Why is mamma's boy so damn pissed off? This..isn't related to any of gossip going around town is it?" She heard the rumors about the Therianthrope, it could be a relative or a friend. Nice people always had their precious friends.

"Ahhh, is that it? Oh, please tell me the details! I was wondering if anyone knew if the attacker went more for the face or the other parts of the body." She waved a hand.

"Oh right, right. We're fighting." She gave a sigh and cracked her knuckles. "Carry on."

Satisfaction coursed through the elemental’s blood as he landed in a handful of good hits before backing off enough to give her some room. He wasn’t going to just pound her into the floor. He also didn’t have to, not when the fight alone so far was making him feel better. Adam had to take his frustrations out somehow, and he wasn’t thinking about who he was hurting. Besides, the way she was taunting him about Sanura meant she had it coming.

Nobody talked about his friends like that.

When she mentioned the gossip circling Sanura’s attack, Adam felt his face give away the answer. His emotions always were written all over his face, and the pained expression he gave unintentionally revealed he knew the person who was attacked — and probably knew her very well.

Her next comment caused Adam to roar and charge at her. How could she talk about Sanura that way? Adam didn’t understand it, and he wasn’t trying to. Instead, he was exploding and out of control, and she was right in his line of sight.

Bingo. Aveira at first thought she had the upper hand. She saw the emotion on Adam's face. She saw how much he was hurt the moment she mentioned some silly animal shifter. It was a girl, she knew by how much emotion was in his face. Sure, it could have been a male relative. But she had been around enough people in her profession to read what was what. They weren't friends, whoever this victim was. They were close friends.

The vampire was strong and she was fast. But sometimes anger could either get the opponents ass kicked, or the attackers ass kicked. Aveira just wasn't fast enough. It turned out that it was looking like she dug her own grave, that she was sucking on her own venom.

She was just able to cross her arms to prevent them from being vulnerable when she fell. The fall was hard enough to cause a thud to echo throughout the gym. Aveira closed her eyes to try and dismiss the pain she felt in her muscles and waited a moment before she spoke.

"I guess this means we're not going to be friends, right?"

Eventually, there was going to come a point when Adam ran out of rage. He was new to this feeling, which caused him to be more volatile, but there wasn’t enough of the feeling to make it last forever. Adam was running through it fast — and running out. His charge at her resulted in the two of them colliding, and Adam fell to the floor along with Aveira. The fury he felt before impact suddenly whittled away. Instead of being angry now, he was only upset. It was a plain and simple sadness, causing him this pain.

He looked at her, surprised by the abrupt comment she made, and pushed himself off of her to sit on the floor nearby. He pushed away from her, creating a distance between the two of them. Why had he taken his anger out on a complete stranger? It wasn’t like him to do something like this. In the end, the actions astonished even Adam.

He couldn’t bring himself to apologize, though. He couldn’t bring himself to say anything. He stared at the polished floor and glanced around the large gym, looking everywhere but at her. Adam wanted to pretend what had happened didn’t just happen, and maybe if he didn’t look at her she would go away.

Aveira finally got up and looked at Adam for a moment before giving him a smile that somewhat sent a message. She had known that it was like to go down the road of being someone else. She felt different, had different emotions and didn't see the need, or feel the need to turn back. Maybe Adam would do the same thing. Just because he looked like a sweet and innocent guy, it didn't mean that he would stay that way. Anyone could be corrupted.

She walked passed him without a word and stuffed her sore hands in her pockets. As she walked out of sight, some of what she said she regretted. But she was still on a high from the fight, so she liked the verbal poison she had delivered.
