Tuesday; December 25, 2007 Who: Adio and Freya [Log] When: Late Night Where: At his cottage, on his roof What: Two people unintentionally take a sad Christmas and make it better
Adio rest on his back, silent while he looked up at the stars. Even looking at the various constellations was depressing. It looked like you could pluck a star right out of the sky, when really they were light years away.
His guitar rest lazily on his stomach and he strummed "Hey Jude" by no surprise, the Beatles silently while he listened to his sisters talk. It made him put a smile on his face after a while. He had a family even after the disaster that occurred throughout the year. Holy shit 2007 was actually almost going to be over and he found himself delving into wondering what was going to happen in 2008.
Suddenly his pick fell from his shaking fingers, hopefully from the cold and not the worry and he cursed under his breath. He rest his head against the cold surface and planned on letting it go.
Freya didn't know what it was about Christmas. She could hear muffled voices, laughter and hushed mingled chatter like she was in a crowded diner when she was by the ice skating area. It brought on a headache and her face twisted into a look of fear. She didn't want to believe her telepathic abilities were coming at such inconsiderate at times. What a horrible gift.
She decided to take a walk and wait until the voices stopped. Funnily enough they stopped when a guitar pick fell into her mess of what she would call hair tied lazily into a pony tail.
Taking it out of her hair dumbly, she looked up to see the culprit. Adio. He always brought a blush to her cheeks. Every time they met, it was something that of interesting.
"I hope that wasn't on purpose."
Adio tried to hide his near bug eyed expression and slid down towards the end of the roof, stomach first. "No, No way. I didn't mean to. I just spaced out and it fell from my fingers." He stated, almost in a pleading way for an apology. He extended his hand out. "Can I have it back? Playing is really all that is keeping me warm right now."
Red spots on his hands were proving true. Though dressed heavily in a black coat, his hands were naked for the playing.
Freya extended her hand out to give Adio his pick back, but then retracted her hand. "May I join you?' She looked down shyly, glancing at the footprints she left behind. "I....I just have a fuzzy mind. I could use some music to perhaps help me out. But I understand if this is a Christmas mopey thing that you have going on." She slightly teased, though her eyes gave him a serious expression before reverting back to her footprints.
The therianthrope at first gave no answer. Not because he didn't want her to be with him on the roof, but because he was actually going to be within a close radius to a female. After a few moments of silence, a small noise reminded him that Freya was indeed still there. "Uhm, yeah sure." He put out his hand and went for both of her wrists, securing her to hop up on the roof. He pretty much threw her slightly on top of him before gently sliding her next to him.
"I'm..sorry. That wasn't the best of ways to get you up here. Are you alright?"
Freya, straightening out her ruffled black coat and pants nodded and gave an assuring smile while handing Adio his pick. "Y..eah. I'm alright. You just caught me off guard there with that whole heaving technique." The telepath looked out into the distance and fumbled her fingers quite madly before she turned towards him. "Just play, yeah?" She didn't mean for it to sound rude, just the fits of silence were getting on her nerves. Not to mention she worried about invading Adio's mind. Not that she could, she just was really paranoid.
Adio gave a slightly nervous nod and slightly fiddled with the pick before he began to play the song he was playing previously.
Hey jude, dont let me down. You have found her, now go and get her. Remember to let her into your heart, Then you can start to make it better.
While he played he felt a little unconfident, he never played in front of someone he kind of liked.
I totally suck at this song, I should have picked something better
Freya glanced up at Adio with a comforting smile and a soft laugh. "You don't suck at this song. You barely started it and I quite liked it. You should continue."
Adio blinked and set the guitar in his lap. "I..didn't say that out loud.."
Oh shit. Ex Nay on not being able to tap into his mind. Freya gave a nervous laugh and observed his guitar for a moment. She encouraged him to continue playing. "The look on your face, it said everything. Ke-ep playing. Come on, I swear, you're doing wonderfully." She helped set the guitar upwards on his lap and made a motion for him to continue.
Tilting his head in concern, Adio paused for a moment before he continued to play.
So let it out and let it in, hey jude, begin, Youre waiting for someone to perform with. And dont you know that its just you, hey jude, youll do, The movement you need is on your shoulder.
Again he began to think to himself while continuing. He thought of various things like his sisters. He wondered if they were going to be okay, if he was a good brother, if he was a good person. He kind of forgot the words and just played the instrumental while he thought.
Freya couldn't help but give a blank look while she listened to his thoughts. After awhile she smiled, the look on her face growing more and more fond. "You're a wonderful person." It just came out, she couldn't help it. "Your sisters are so lucky to have you. Don't beat yourself up."
He really didn't mean to act all offended, but Adio moved back from Freya and gave her a scold. "You read my mind!? You know a little permission would be would be nice! There are some things people might not want you, or anyone to know!" Great, she was a damn telepath. There were some serious things he wanted deep within the depths of his mind and if Freya somehow got there..
The telepath got to her feet and looked down the path where she soon would be storming down. "I'm not doing it on purpose. You know, I came here to try and prevent this. I thought you could make me feel better Not to mention I like you so why the hell would I muck this up and make you angry at me for trying to make you feel better while all self pitting in your head!? Look, I kind of suck at controlling this at times!"
Adio didn't want Freya to fall, so he tried to hold her by her elbows. Wait, what? She liked him. "Freya, if we're gonna yell at each other, let's do it with the potential of not breaking our necks."
She likes me?
Freya gave a frustrated huff and refused to sit down. "What part of like don't you understand?" She felt hotness build up in her cheeks, but she ignored it, her mind flustered and exhausted.
"You're doing it again!" Adio excused, trying to shut out everything and anything he was thinking of.
Freya threw up her hands in frustration. "I better go before I find out what underwear you're wearing. I already know that you sucked your thumb until you were seventeen." She began to go down the slope of the roof but began to fall.
Adio caught her and turned her around for what was supposed to be a good telling off, but instead.
He kissed her.
It was unintentional and he remembered always wanting it to be one of those things. Just unintentional, unplanned and stupid. The therianthrope didn't let her go either until he realized she was laughing.
"....what the hell is so funny?"
Freya brought him to her lips once more. "Not bad for a first kiss. You are such a loser." She used him as a crutch to get off the roof and began to run.
Adio managed to hit her in the ass with a snowball.
"STOP THAT!" He sat back on the roof and smiled like a kid in highschool. Maybe the stars were beautiful just as they were after all.
