Who: Aveira and Irei (LOL sorry this took FOREVER)
When: Evening
Where: Medical Pavilion/surrounding areas
What: Aveira, "shiny and new" is nom noming, but isn't very careful
Warning: Not a very vegetarian friendly start D:

Christmas, falalalala-blahblahblahblah. Bitter. That's how Aveira felt. Even more so than the droplets of blood that remained on her plump lips. She let the remnants of ruby red rest there for a moment before she caught the droplets with her tongue preventing a mess on her chin. A good Christmas gift would be a fucking upgrade of the blood at the Medical Pavilion.

The holidays back home used to be spent with her buddies. They would play beer pong until they passed out or were called for duty. She chuckled for a moment. Wow, how mature. They still were good at what they did though.

But that was the past. This was now. She was a human back then. The vampire was always trying to fix things but now she didn't believe that was her responsibility. After all, there was a council for that. They were trying to fix little boo boos like a dangerous psychopath running around. Hmm, she could help with that couldn't she? She had a good eye for the suspicious.

But, she didn't want to.

She spent several weeks cooped up in her cottage once a few pictures of her friends fell to her feet when she was re-arranging her bedroom. They were swatted by the virus like flies and Rick, the only other person she gave a damn about slightly higher than what she considered to be a friend, was probably dead too. In her world, the reason why one behaved was because they believed they had to be a role model to someone either spiritually or in real life.

What a shame. This didn't apply for her. As far as she knew it, everyone she gave a damn about was deceased. As far as spirituality went-fuck it.

Lighting up a cigarette and only glancing at her scarred arms for a millisecond, she caught sight of a squirrel playing mindlessly by itself. Grinning she waited for it to near escape into the bushes before she actually used her hyped up speed to grasp the poor creature. It's frightened eyes glanced at her with helpless curiosity. Without a thought, Aveira took out her switchblade and silenced its small squeals.

It didn't take long to empty the blood out from the squirrel and when done, she tossed the carcass into the bushes and took out a cloth to wipe her blade clean. Turning her attention back to her cigarette, she continued to walk on. Of course, since it was Christmas and she sensed no one was around, she didn't think anyone saw her little deed.

Now it was worth at least whistling a Christmas carol. A graceful pitch of "Silent Night" eased through her satisfied lips

It was Christmas Day and here Irei was out in the cold. He hated winter completely because of the weather in the the last two places he had lived: here and New York. The feeling was sharp and seeped into his extremities first; his fingers and toes were always the first to go numb even if he work thick socks and leather gloves. He had even pilfered one of Sascha's thicker, warmer coats so he could get some sleeping pills from the medical pavilion.

Irei took out the small orange bottle of capsules and shook it slightly. He knew he would have to be careful with them because of his "highly addictive" personality. He sighed and pushed both his hands plus the pills into the coat's pockets when he noticed a familiar form a distance away attacking what seemed to be a squirrel.

Aveira, he recalled meeting her at the Tiki hut before the weather had changed. He watched silently as she cut the animal open and drank from it, and then tossed it with little care into a shrub nearby. He smiled slightly. He supposed he had something in common with that little animal. He too was thrown away after a vampire had decided it was finished with him. He walked after her.

"Aveira-san? I thought that was you. What are you doing out here all alone on the Christmas holiday?" His hair was still long, albeit trimmed neatly, and pulled back from his face, and he smiled at her. Christmas admittedly had never really meant much to him. Back in Japan it had been a couple's holiday. One hoped to get lucky with one's girlfriend on that night. But he did recognize the song she had begun whistling when he had come up on her.

Fuck. Well there went the idea of trying to be quite incognito with killing an animal and leaving it to rest in a bush. But then again, it wasn't like she was harming a human. It was sad she was caught too. That was like a pathetic entree at a high end restaurant. Hardly filling at all and she bit the corner of her lip to hide a slight frown before she forced a smile to start a conversation. She should have been ashamed of herself for not knowing he was around. She may have had the speed down, but her sense? Why Aveira, you should give yourself close to a one.

"Ah, Irei. The cute Japanese guy I was drinking with. How are you?" She fiddled with the end of his hair lightly, in no way meant to be harmful. In fact it was flirtatious. "Your hair. I don't remember seeing it this long. Halloween was." She didn't know how to put it so she shrugged. "Busy. I didn't stay for all that long." She chuckled lightly. "It's a good look on you. Most people wouldn't be able to pull it off."

When it came to the ordeal of Christmas she narrowed her eyes and walked a little slower. "Christmas sucks. Plain and simple. I guess if you have family it's always nice to be with them, but I have none." She gave an unemotional shrug and offered Irei a cigarette. "And I don't miss them. Blood family that is."

Emotions play on the face so easily except on the most stoic of people. Irei had always been very aware of how the facial expressions changed with the emotions a person felt. He tilted his head as he looked at the slight look of disappointment and what seemed like it might be a little bit of shame grace Averia's strong features and watched them disappear just as quickly as she force a smile. He smiled slightly. She must have been deep in thought for him to have been able to surprise a vampire.

Irei shook his head. "Cute? Cute is a bunny or a puppy. I am not either of those." He grinned at her. He had heard that from many people in the west, the idea of cute having the same meaning as handsome or good looking. He would never grow used to it, and hated when people used it just to annoy him. He could grow irritable pretty easily.

"I have been alright. And yourself?" He watched her finger tips play with the strand of hair that fell over his face. Sometimes he forgot about his hair being so long, and other times he felt like he should just cut it off. Perhaps he would just wait until winter was over to remove his long locks. People seemed to love touching his hair when worn this way. "Ah yes, I grew my hair suddenly for Halloween. There are some interesting potions that people can find in this place." He reached behind him and pulled the pony tail toward the front and fingered his hair himself. It felt a little brittle thanks to the weather.

He followed her pace, allowing her to set it. She didn't seem to have fond Christmas memories that he believed Sascha had had. This is why his friend was often depressed when it came to holidays that were centered around the family. "Ah, well in Japan, we did not really celebrate Christmas the way westerners do. It was purely commercial, and people just hoped that they could get fucked that night." He shrugged. He certainly didn't have too many sentiments about the holiday.

Aveira chuckled in reaction to Irei being called cute. "Do you prefer "hot"?" she always found that saying weird. Hot was a temperature to her. Hot got you burned. So..someone burned you they were so attractive? She knew she was tearing the saying to pieces, but even still. The compliment hot also sounded like a teenager. She wanted to stab whomever created that saying. To her it made no sense. "You're in that category, but I just find the actual word...quite odd."

She took a long look at his hair and smiled. "I like your hair like that. I also find it fascinating that all it takes is one potion and bam!" she snapped her fingers. "You're whatever length of hair or color hair you want."

Aveira covered her mouth slightly to chuckle about Irei's explanation about Christmas in Japan. "..I don't think it's a far step from the west. If you go to the right person and place your "fucked" wish will come true." She stated candidly. "And don't get me started on the commercials. Not to mention cheesy movies."

Irei grumbled slightly, because the saying hot did seem to denote a bit of childishness. Why didn't English speakers come up with a dignified word to catagorize men so they wouldn't have to be called cute. Hello Kitty was cute. Girls in pink colored kimono were cute. He was nothing like that.

"In Japan we use the word 'Kakkoii' for men. Loosely translated is means 'good looking'." Maybe if he taught enough people that word, it would catch on. The world was much smaller now and it could very easily work.

"*Sou desuka...You do not like commercialism." He grinned at her. "You would have hated Japan. Commercialism was like a religion there. In Tokyo there were shops right next to the temples and the shrines waiting for tourists and others to bring their offerings."

*Is that so

Aveira couldn't help but laugh about the commercial deal. "Oh gosh. I saw some Japanese commercial about a hair product and it was like an action movie. It was all about how his hair stayed perfect though he was fighting, getting in car chases, that sort of shit. The product was called UNO or something. Last I knew, it was a card game. But since then, every time I see the word UNO, I crack up. Don't get me started on their promoting of GUCCI. Those commercials are so overdramatic. But hey, it gets the money in."

She couldn't help but to raise a brow and continued teasing Irei. "Come on, you know you wanted to explore that career path. Who doesn't want to be in extraordinary hair commercials, or mens perfume commercials?"
