WHO: Loki, Mitsuko, and Logan
WHERE: Mitsuko and Logan's Cottage
WHEN: Morning, after Loki finds her note at the tiki bar.
WHAT: Loki is in for a beating.

Mitsuko's note was in Loki's pocket as he weaved his way through the cottages to find her particular abode. Nothing alerted the muse to anything being wrong. Her scribbled note hadn't indicated she was upset or anythin' like that, so all Loki knew was that she wanted to talk about something. What was the funeral she mentioned in her note, though? Loki scratched his head in confusion. He hadn't heard about a funeral going on, and he definitely didn't hear about anyone dyin'! Loki frowned and figured he would've heard about something like that happening. Nobody died without a warning and a notice, y'know!

As Loki knocked on Mitsuko's door, he had no idea there was another young man inside now with ears like Mits's ears, which would no doubt give him a start if he saw the guy. Right now, he was thinking of having that talk with Mits, though. After all, he had some exciting news to relay! Theora was going away, and Loki offered to be her boatman to the isle! Another adventure on the horizon! Loki grinned happily as he knocked on her door. Despite just thinking about the funeral mentioned in her note, Loki forgot about it. Anyway, it couldn't have been anyone she knew from everything he learned of Mits. She didn't have any family in Elysium that Loki knew of, that was for sure.

The door opened a crack. Mitsuko peered out, her eyes gleaming somewhat menacingly when she saw Loki on the other side. She was angry at him, at herself. She should have left him a better note. He should have known there was something wrong. She shouldn't have been in this damn situation in the first place!

"Well, well, well..." Mitsuko said quietly as she opened the door all the way. Mitsuko, who was usually so coiffed and perfect, was in a disarray. Her long, dark hair was in a bun which was falling out (the one she had worn to the funeral). She was wearing a worn sleeping yukata, which she had to hold close, as she had tied badly. While it might appear as if she had just woken up, in fact, she had been up all night worrying. "When you said you were going to go on unannounced walkabouts, I didn't think you meant right away."

She knew she shouldn't be pissed. How was Loki to know how her life had been turned upside down in the span of twenty-four hours? And maybe he hadn't even gone to the Tiki Hut until now. She should have left a message with Zach or Nico or... Actually tried to look for him.

But she wanted to unleash. She wanted to vent her frustration, confusion and pain onto someone. And the only safe option was her boyfriend (if he could indeed be called that after she was done with him).

She could feel Logan lurking nearby, but he was staying hidden. Seemed to be what he was good at. She'd let him be for now. If he wanted to listen to her bitch out Loki, then so be it.

Mitsuko cocked her head to the side, observing Loki coolly. "Want to come in? Just made some tea."

Loki knew something was wrong the moment he saw Mits's angry face staring back at him from between the crack of the door. It wiped the grin right off his face, and he blinked in shock at what might be going on to have given her a look like that! And at him! Loki searched desperately in his head for a reason that would've pissed her off, but what did he do? He didn't know!

When she spoke to him, he felt even worse — like a child being scolded for doing something wrong. He said he disappeared a lot, did his own thing, and already he managed to make her angry by it. Loki frowned in a way that resembled a pout, his eyes gleaming with sadness. He gestured weakly behind himself, as if to indicate something. "I was just fixin' up the boat," he offered. "Had a run-in with Theora, and she's goin' away, so I wanted to get everything ready for 'er."

How was he to know something would happen within the span of a day? That was hardly any time at all for something to happen! At least, that's what Loki had thought, but he looked like he was proved wrong. He hadn't dropped by the tiki bar until this morning, so her note left on it yesterday went unnoticed until he found it today.

Loki felt a little worried about Mits's cool attitude, but he nodded his head slowly. "I'd love to come in," he said in a softer voice than usual, stepping inside her cottage with his head held down. Where else would he look without feeling absolutely crappy?

Mitsuko didn't want to be angry with Loki. She really, honestly didn't. She hated herself for taking out her venom on him. After they had that long conversation about how the last thing she would do would get angry! Dammit! How could she be messing this up so quickly?

But... This was different. This was.... Mitsuko felt the ache in her heart as she thought about the events of the past day. How quickly everything had changed. Mitsuko had long ago come to grips with not knowing her father. But now... The option was gone forever.... And she had someone to look after, someone to depend on her.

"It's all right," Mitsuko said, trying to pull back the anger in her voice. "I had my own arrangements to make. I was pretty busy."

She wanted to do... Something... Smack him? Yell? Scream? Bury her face in his chest and cry?

She settled instead for leading Loki into the kitchen and bringing the tea pot to the table. There were two cups already there waiting. She went to the cupboard and got out a third. "I was hoping you'd come by before the funeral."

At the mention of her own arrangements, Loki indeed fell into the confused category and wondered exactly what she meant. "What sort of arrangements were you makin'?" Loki asked in his calm voice as he stepped into the cottage. Hopefully, there was a little bit of a soothing tone to his words as he tried to figure out what had gone wrong in this short period of time and what he (or someone else) had done to warrant her anger forward like this.

He reached into his pocket immediately after he said that and pulled out the folded note resting there, cutting off any chance for her to reply right away to what he had just asked her. "I got your note this mornin'. It was just sitting on the tiki bar under an empty bottle." Loki remembered then the funeral mentioned in the note and decided to ask about it after they were in the kitchen.

As Mitsuko broke out the tea, Loki sat down at the one of the chairs and watched her in silence. He opened his mouth a few times to speak and then closed it. Finally, she mentioned the funeral herself, and Loki looked up at her curiously from across the room. "Yeah," he said, nodding, "there was somethin' in your note 'bout a funeral, but I didn't hear anything 'bout a funeral lately." His fingers fiddled in his lap. " . . . I still don't think I know what's goin' on," he added unsurely. His forehead furrowed with wrinkles. "Why was 'here a funeral?" Loki asked her suddenly.

Mitsuko's anger at Loki was quickly crumbling at his utter confusion. Now that she was face-to-face with him, when she was assured his absence was pure naivety and not flightness... But as the anger left her, the feelings of confusion, hurt and sadness flooded her. She could felt the tears sting her eyes as the soothing sound of his voice.

"I should have looked for you harder if I really wanted to talk to you," Mitsuko whispered, her voice laced with sadness. "But... Fuck.... There was so much. I couldn't think straight.

Mitsuko poured the tea slowly, carefully, each step very deliberate. "The funeral was announced at the town meeting. The scouting party came back. They found a man who had protected a group of orphans." Her hands were shaking as she poured the tea. "He lived only long enough for the scouts to find them. Then he... Let go."

The teapot finally slipped from her hand, cracking on the table. She let out a small, almost inaudible cry. "It was my father."

She shook her head, cussing in Japanese through her tears. She grabbed a towel to try and mop up the mess she had created. She gave up after a moment, falling to her knees and covering her face with a hand. She hated that she had fallen apart like this in front of Loki. She had always been so cool around him. Now, she was a fucking train wreck.

For his own failing, Loki should have attended the town meeting where they announced the funeral in the first place. Then, he would at least have heard about it. Arranging the funeral so close to announcing, though, caused all news to slip past Loki, and Loki usually heard about everything. In this case, he hadn't heard a thing. It had only been a day since the announcement itself, though. Loki talked with Theora and Adam, and then he was off to prepare the boat and pack his things briefly at the cottage, just to take what he had packed and haul it over to boat, too.

When he saw the tears building up in her eyes, that only made it worse. He didn't know what to say to her as she talked, as she poured the tea, so he didn't say anything and kept his mouth shut until she got everything out.

Loki heard about the scouting mission and their return, but news of a man and others being found out there was new for him. Listening to the story alone caused a lump to form in his throat. Even the muse capable of being happy most of the time had his moments where happiness couldn't outweigh the sadness. Her hands started shaking. Loki lifted his own, almost wanting to take the teapot from her to pour it himself, but at that moment the teapot fell and cracked against the table.

He nearly hopped up from his seat, taking it from her hands and putting the teapot aside. "Mits?" he asked quietly, holding out one of his hands by her arm. That's when she said the man had been her father. Loki's jaw dropped.

Loki honestly and truly, for once in his life, didn't know what to say.

She went to grab a towel and tried to clean up the mess, and Loki stepped back, not wanting to interrupt her and make it worse. Mits fell to her knees, though, and Loki crouched down beside her. A sad look crossed over his face as he realized she was in a lot of pain. Loki never lost a parent before, so he didn't know what it was like, but he gathered her up in a hug and patted her back. "I'm sorry, Mits," he said quietly, not knowing what else to say.

Mitsuko was grateful that Loki kept his mouth shut and just let her get it all out. Now that the floodgates were open, she couldn't stop. She had to get all of her feelings out about her father. She needed to unburden herself. She really, honestly wasn't mad. She understood completely why Loki hadn't been there. At the very least, there had only been a day to plan the funeral. Hell, she hadn't been informed about her father's death until the morning of.

She could feel Loki near her, wanting to help. But she continued to try and clean up on her own, needing to have something in her control.

But when she was on her knees and she felt Loki's arms around her.... She finally gave in to all of it. The pain and confusion... This was what she had needed. She had needed someone to hold her, to just be there. She had wanted it to be Loki. God, she did love him. He was the only person who could have made her feel better.

Mitsuko wrapped her arms around Loki's neck, clinging to him almost desperately. She buried her face in his chest, the tears falling freely now. "I... I never knew him. But... Now I never will. I always thought I would have the chance. That I would get to meet him. But... He's gone. He was trying to get here. To me. But he died before he could. Dammit, he wanted to meet me!" Her voice was laced with complete and utter woe.

Her head jerked up when she heard the hesitant footsteps. Standing in the doorway of the kitchen was Logan, his eyes wide as he gazed down at his sister and Loki. He tilted his head in silent question.

"I'm all right," she said thickly to the new arrival. She looked briefly to Loki. "This is Loki."

Logan took a step back, eyeing the man who held his sister with guarded curiosity.

"Otousan isn't the only thing that's happened." Mitsuko murmured against Loki's shoulder. "This is Logan. My brother."

Loki held her close as she cried and continued to talk. The words weren't coming as easily as they would have under any other circumstance for him. Sometimes a listening ear was all someone needed, though — a listening ear and kind sort of silence. Not to mention hugs. People always needed hugs, and Loki hugged Mitsuko, realizing her pain wasn't anything simple that would go away soon. She hadn't known her father, and she hadn't even been given the chance to get to know him. Not while he was alive, anyway. Now, he was gone.

Mitsuko wouldn't get that chance to know him, and it broke Loki's heart.

When Mitsuko’s head made a quick movement, Loki glanced upwards as well and turned towards the doorway of the kitchen. Standing there was a boy around the same age as Mits, and white ears adorned his head, too, which alerted Loki to thinking this was family. Mitsuko introduced him to the other guy, and his cautious steps and retreating feet told Loki not to try and hop up and greet him like he normally would greet others. Instead, Loki nodded his head at the other man in a silent greeting, keeping his arms wrapped around Mits as he patted her back.

Her murmur against his shoulder told him the boy’s name was Logan, and that he was Mitsuko’s brother. “Nice to meet you,” Loki said quietly to Logan, knowing immediately that the other boy was in as much pain as Mitsuko. “Family of Mits is family o’ mine,” he said with a soft smile, much fainter than his usual grins. The muse wished it could’ve been under better circumstances that they met, but nothing could change that.

At least her brother was all right, and that meant Mitsuko had family. She needed family at a time like this.

Loki's warmth around her-- despite the heat outside-- was nothing but comforting. Her body was still trembling with her tears, but she was calming as he held her. She had needed to get her feelings about her father out. Oh, they were not gone-- not by a longshot. It was going to take her a very long time to get over this. But sharing her feelings with the one person she truly trusted was a good start.

Mitsuko had finally stopped sobbing, but tears stained her cheeks as she clutched Loki.

Logan regarded Loki silently as Mitsuko introduced them. He pressed himself against the door, his shoulders hunched, as if he were trying to make himself as small as possible. Was this his sister's lover? He had never seen an embrace like this before.

He shrank back when Loki addressed him. He seemed nice enough, but Logan was unable to process anything. He had met so many people... Had them talk to him... Except him to answer back.

Mitsuko watched him, her eyes widening. "Logan, it's all right..." she said quietly, her voice shaking.

Logan pulled back further, grabbing the door.

"Logan!"

SLAM! Logan went running and threw the door shut behind him.

"Don't take it personally," Mitsuko muttered softly. "He doesn't even know how to deal with me yet, let alone some guy holding onto me."

Mitsuko slumped down. "I don't know what he went through." Her voice was strained, even more desperate than when she spoke about her father. "One of the orphans said his voice was scared away. I don't know... He saw it... All of it. The virus, the war... Both of his parents dying. The Head Council wants me to take care of him. My father wanted me to take care of him. They told me that's what he said with his dying breath."

Mitsuko's tears began anew. "I'm gonna fuck it up..." She shook her head desperately. "God, he needs me and I can barely take care of myself."

He hadn't expected a reply from Logan when he greeted him, but it seemed like Logan grew afraid or upset from those few words Loki had spoken. The muse couldn't make heads or tails of what happened next, only that Mits was telling Logan it was all right, but then the boy shrunk back further and suddenly vanished, slamming the door behind himself. Well, that was new for Loki. Few people ran away from him after he said hello like that, and that was by far one of his softest greetings yet.

Loki blinked at the door, honestly shocked by this new turn of events and looked over at Mits in his arms. He wasn't going to take it personally. The muse was shocked, of course, but he wasn't going to assume it was his fault the boy took off running and the door slammed. Something else was going on that he didn't know about. "Did he come from the outside?" Loki dared to ask, wondering what Logan might have been through to have caused a reaction such as that.

Sliding down so that he sat comfortably upon the kitchen floor, Loki peered down at Mits as she spoke about her brother. His hold on her remained soft, relaxing and allowing her to pull back some. The things she said Logan went through . . . it was like something out of a movie. Imagining what Logan went through out there was impossible. The virus, the war . . . people dying around him. How did someone come out of that normal again?

Mitsuko already began crying again, and Loki hugged her closely once more. "No, no, no," he told her firmly. "You aren't gonna mess this up. You are," and he pulled away to hold her face and look in the eyes, "the strongest person I know." Loki shook his head softly. "You aren't gonna mess this up. You can do it, Mits, and I'll help ya. He's your brother, and he needs people who are kind to him. He needs people to be there for him. I can't imagine what he's been through. I can't try," Loki said truthfully, "but we can still show him he's safe here. People here are his friends."

The muse shook his head again, unable to comprehend the mess that had been dropped in Mitsuko's lap. "All of us can help," he said. "Nico, Zach, Adrienne — the whole clan of Elysium, that's what," Loki added with a smile. He touched his finger to her nose. "So, don't you worry. Everything's gonna be all right, Mits."

Mitsuko absently played with the hem of Loki's shirt. She didn't know much more about the situation with Logan than Loki did now. Besides the deaths of his parents on the way to Elysium and his muteness, she knew absolutely nothing about him. Hell, she didn't even know what he was. Of course, he was Kitsune. But he wasn't pure Kitsune. The lack of a tail gave it away. Whether his mother was human or praeternatural was a mystery.

The poor kid. A half-breed... A mixed-race one at that, too. He probably never knew where he fit in. While she was sure what he went through was enough to shake the strongest person, she somehow doubted that secure to start with.

Mitsuko nodded gravely at Loki's question. God, everything he saw... The world died around him. Everything he knew, everything he loved. Mitsuko was lucky, getting to Elysium before that. But he...

Her heart broke for him. As hurt as she was by the loss of the father she never had the chance to know, it was Logan who truly cut her deeply. She had a brother. And he was.... Broken. Every fiber of her being demanded she put him back together, but she didn't know how. It filled her with confusion and fear. He needed her. They were all they had.

No, he wasn't all Mitsuko had. She had Loki. As she looked up at him, lower lip trembling, she felt a swell of warmth in her heart. Whatever they had together was far beyond anything she had with any other man. She would never allow herself to break down like this if it weren't.

She sniffled as Loki hugged her, speaking his soothing words of support. Her lips twitched up-- a mere ghost of a smile. "Arigato," her voice was still shaking. "I'm gonna need all the help I can get. The only thing I know about teenaged boys...." She let out a tiny, weak laugh. "Well, it would be very inappropriate with my brother."

Mitsuko watched Loki for a moment. She then leaned in, pressing her lips to his. It was firm, but not at all seeking... She just wanted to feel him, take in his strength and comfort. She was sure he could taste the salt of her tears against her lips.

After a moment, she pulled back and got to her feet. "I need to find him. He shouldn't be alone." She hesitated to move, looking to where Logan had retreated. She bit her lip, cursing her uncertainty as she held out a hand. "Come with me?"

God, she hated what this whole situation had done to her. She didn't want to be dependent, but... She was just so... Lost.

Loki smiled when the ghost of a smile curled the corner of her lips, even though they didn't form a full one. As long as she was beginning to feel better, he felt like he was doing his job right. Seeing her broken like this brought an ache up in his own chest. A strange feeling, and he wasn't accustomed to such feelings. He laughed softly with her as she talked about teenage boys and inappropriateness. "When he's back on his toes," Loki said jokingly, a twinkle in his eyes, "you just leave that up to me and Nico." He grinned, feeling Mitsuko finally relax a little. It wasn't just her body, but the aura around her mind, lighting up just a smidgen, like tiny beams of the sun peeking out from behind a storm of clouds.

His only motion to kiss her back involved the press of his lips to hers, nothing more. At a time like this, nothing else was needed and anything else just felt wrong. Mits left him after a moment, moving to stand on her feet. Loki followed her, holding onto her arm very lightly just to make sure she was all right.

Her legs looked vaguely wobbly to him, and his touch guided her to guarantee she didn't lose her balance again with the weight of everything on her shoulders right now.

A smile crossed his mostly solemn but lightening expression, and Loki took her hand in his and nodded his head. "Let's go find 'im, 'ey?"

Mitsuko felt infinitely better now that she had allowed herself to cry. She had kept the feelings bottled up since she had heard about her father and Logan. If she had kept it in much longer, she might have exploded. She let out another weak laugh as Loki offered himself and Nico up to mentor Logan. "Somehow I can't see that going all that well," she teased gently. "But truth is, kid could probably use guys like you two around."

Mitsuko liked her independence. Liked to do her own thing and not have to rely on anyone. But there was something so comforting about having Loki there with her, knowing he cared and would do anything to help her. She squeezed his hand gently. "Thank you, Sailor... Just... Thank you."

She led Loki into the living room. She spotted something behind the couch. She knelt on it, leaning over the back to peer down. There was a space of a few feet between the back of the couch and the wall. Huddled down there was Logan. Mitsuko rested her chin on the couch, sighing. "Hey... You don't need to hide, you know. This is your house too."

Logan looked up at Mitsuko, his eyes wide and fearful.

"I know I already introduced you, but... This is Loki." She squeezed Loki's hand again. "He's my..." She paused, looking at him for a moment. "He's my boyfriend," she finally said.

Logan gave Loki a quick nod in greeting, but didn't move from his spot.

Mitsuko sighed and crawled behind the couch to join Logan. "Hey... I know we're practically strangers, but... You can trust me. I'm your sister. And I told you, I'm going to do everything I can to take care of you."

Logan threw his arms around Mitsuko, hugging her fiercely. He buried his face in her shoulder. He didn't cry, but clung to her for dear life. Mitsuko looked panicked at this movement, her own eyes widening as she gave Loki a deer-in-headlights look.

"I'm sure he'll get used to us," Loki said with a small laugh, patting Mits on the arm as they both moved to stand up. When she squeezed his hand in hers, he gave her an encouraging smile and squeezed back. "You're welcome, Mits," he said, pecking her gently on the forehead.

He followed her into the living room when it became clear that Logan hadn't run out of the house but had instead hidden himself behind the sofa. Loki watched on in silence, not wanting to interrupt the exchange between the brother and sister as Mitsuko talked to Logan and tried to ease his fear considering the whole situation.

Loki glanced over at Mits as she said he was her boyfriend. It brought light to his eyes to hear her say it. Looking back at her brother, Logan nodded quickly as Loki. Loki didn't say anything, but he motioned his head to nod back with a small smile on his lips. Baby steps. It was all about baby steps, he thought, as he looked at the younger man crouched on the ground with such a scared look on his face.

Mitsuko joined her brother behind the couch, and Loki remained standing as he watched them. Leaving it all up to Mits was better for now, especially for Logan's sake.

As Mitsuko looked up at Loki once Logan threw his arms around her, Loki thought this was a great step in their relationship together. He immediately displayed two thumbs-up with his fingers and winked in support at Mits. Good! Loki mouthed, grinning and nodding his head exuberantly.

Just having Loki near her was easing the tension in Mitsuko that she had felt for the last twenty-four hours. She knew that as long as he was around, she wouldn't go through any of this alone. He would be a support to her and care for her... Maybe even love her. She felt a flutter in chest at the thought.

Mitsuko was quite relived when Loki seemed receptive to her description of him as her boyfriend. Their relationship was still new, but she felt so much for him, she could think of nothing else to call him.

When Logan hugged MItsuko, it took her a moment to get used to the feeling. She relaxed as Loki gave her the thumbs-up. She gently stroked Logan's unruly hair and helped him to his feet. She kept her arms around him as she led him to sit down on the couch. "I know things really suck right now, Logan... I can't even imagine everything you've been through. But it's going to be okay. This is what our father wanted... For us to be together. I wish he was here too, but... We're going to be okay. We're going to take care of each other."

Logan pulled away from Mitsuko's embrace finally. He looked up at her, his eyes wide and innocent.

"Is there anything you want? Need? I made tea..." Mitsuko winced, remembering what had happened. "But I'll need to find a spare teapot and make some new. Food? Anything you need, I'll get it for you."

Logan seemed to consider this for a moment. He then got to his feet and walked away. At least he wasn't fleeing again, Mitsuko noted. After a few minutes, Logan returned with a bag. He reached into it and pulled out a pencil. He held it out to Mitsuko, who accepted it. It was only about an inch long, have been used for much longer than it should of.

"You want.... A pencil?" Mitsuko wanted to confirm this, as it seemed like a very odd request.

Logan gave a quick bob of his head before averting his gaze. He then reached into his bag again and pulled out a book. He held it out to Mitsuko. She accepted it. It was dirty and tattered, probably from being carried with him from... Where ever he was from. It was a sketchbook. The pictures were amazingly detailed. Some were of people... Others were oddly dreamlike, abstract and bizarre landscapes.

"You're an artist," Mitsuko managed out. This was obviously a way of Logan was trying to reach out to her, to show her what he was like. "A very good one," Mitsuko added as she came upon a picture of Adrienne. He must have seen her at the Medical Pavillion. "This looks just like Adrienne."

Logan cocked his head curiously. He hadn't known her name. He had only seen her briefly, but had thought she was pretty.
"There's an art supply store in town." Mitsuko got to her feet, ruffling Logan's hair affectionately. "We need to go out and get you furniture for your room today, so we'll pick that up. Whatever you want, okay?"

Logan's eyes brightened and he very nearly smiled. He hadn't been able to properly do his art since they had left British Columbia. His parents had loved his art and encouraged him to do it as much as he wanted. That Mitsuko would do the same warmed his broken heart.

He took the book back from Mitsuko. He went to the final picture, to the one he had drawn during the night. He had trouble sleeping these days, for oh-so-many reasons. He carefully removed it from the book. It was Mitsuko. He had tried to draw her looking happier than he had seen her at the funeral, remembering the few photos his father had of her. He held the drawing out to Loki, offering it to him. If he was his sister's boyfriend, Logan needed to make an effort with him and he could think of no other way than offering him this gift.

Loki watched in silence, rocking back and forth on his heels, as Logan and Mitsuko shared a brotherly and sisterly moment together. He twiddled his thumbs a little nervously. After all, it felt like he was witnessing a very private moment that he wasn't supposed to be seeing. Loki certainly wasn't going to leave; he only felt uncomfortable given that him and Mits were technically only dating for a very, very short time so far and he didn't know Logan. Needless to say, watching such an emotional moment between the siblings left Loki a bit tongue-tied and unsure of what to do.

After a short time, Logan got up from the floor and Mits and Loki both kept their eyes on him as he went off to retrieve a bag — his bag, full of his personal belongings. Mits looked absolutely confused by her brother's actions, and since it didn't take much to confuse the muse, he was just as lost as Mits. Logan pulled out a book a moment later, holding it out to Mits. Loki wondered briefly what was in it, but he didn't need to wonder for very long because Mitsuko opened the tattered book and revealed its contents.

Loki stepped a little closer and peered over Mitsuko's shoulder, catching glimpses of the detailing and artistic sketches within the book on its pages. The muse's mouth formed into a delicate "o" shape as he regarded the drawings with appraising eyes. "Oy," Loki murmured quietly to himself, "that's beautiful."

His eyes also spotted the picture of Adrienne that Mitsuko pointed out. "Aye," Loki agreed, pointing at the sketch. "'S Adrienne right there," he said with a grin. His gaze roamed over the picture in admiration. "Got talent, you do . . . "

Once Loki heard something about a trip to the market, his face lit up and he inquired immediately if he could attend with them. "May I go?" Loki asked. "I can help ya with furniture," he added adamantly, nodding his head.

Logan sifted through the notebook once more, stopping on one of the pictures inside and taking it out. He held out the drawing to Loki, and Loki carefully took it to glance over the drawing, wondering why Logan handed it to him. It was a beautiful sketch of Mits, looking anything than sad as she looked today when Loki had answered the door. He regretted missing the funeral for her father, but he couldn't change time. The muse didn't have powers like that, so he had to think about the positive now and not dwell on the negative. It was easier for him than for most.

Loki looked over at Logan. "Is this fo' me?" he asked, indicating the drawing of Mits that he held in his hand. "It's a very good drawing," Loki admitted, giving Logan a happy look. "Mits always is a beaut . . . "

Loki may have been uncomfortable, but Mitsuko felt so much better having him there. She still wasn't certain about good she was going to be as a big sister, but knowing that she had the support of her boyfriend made the whole situation much easier to take. At least Logan seemed to be all right with her. She don't know what she would do if he had hated her.

Logan was obviously a very talented artist and he seemed to be very proud of his work. Mitsuko wanted to nurture that in him, if that was what was going to make him feel better. His trip was not an easy one. The least she could do was support in with what made him happy.

Mitsuko smiled softly when Loki asked if he could join them on their shopping trip. Mitsuko turned to him. "Of course." She leaned in, giving him a quick kiss. Her mood was lightening considerably, especially with the prospect of something to do. "You didn't think I was going to carry furniture back, did you?"

She blushed slightly when Logan gave the picture of her to Loki. Not only because of Loki's comment about her beauty, but it was clear Logan had wanted to meet her for a long time.

Logan nodded for Loki to take the picture. The compliments of his work has colored his cheeks.

She gave Logan the once over. "We're also going to have to get you some new clothes." The boy pretty much only had the clothes he had been wearing when he came into Elysium. What he was currently garbed in was Mitsuko's. "Good thing I had to disguise myself as a boy for that heist in Belize, or else you'd be shit out of luck right now. But I've only got that one pair of jeans and a couple of shirts. And it doesn't look like it fits you all that well. I'm a lot shorter than you are."

Logan shifted and looked generally uncomfortable, but it seemed more about being the center of attention.

"All right," Mitsuko said. "So we'll head out." She looked down briefly at herself. "Just as soon as I change." She tugged at her yukata. "This really isn't appropriate for shopping."

Mitsuko ran off to go and change, leaving Logan and Loki alone in the living room. Logan stared at Loki. There were so many things he wanted to ask the man. How long had he know his sister? How serious was their relationship? Was Logan going to wake up in the mornings and find him there? But he couldn't get the words out. He just stared at Loki, a questioning look in his eyes.

Loki couldn't help but smile back. Truthfully, the muse wasn't very good at sitting still and needed to move around soon pronto! Or else his legs might begin moving on their own and send him who knows where once the jitters set in. When she leaned in to give him a quick kiss, a mild blush stained his cheeks. "Dunno," Loki said, aiming at grin at Mits. "For all I know, you plan on clearin' out the shop and carryin' it all back on your back."

"I dunno if he's my size," Loki said once they ended up on the topic of clothing for Logan, shaking his head. Crossing one arm over his chest and propping his other elbow on top of it, his hand stroked his chin thoughtfully. "My cloths might be big on him," he finally added.

"Don't be too long, love!" Loki called as Mitsuko disappeared from sight, leaving the two boys in the living room alone. It wasn't quite awkward yet for Loki, as he hadn't been around Logan long enough to notice her brother didn't talk very much. Not that Loki needed another person to speak to him in order to carry on a conversation, which might as well have been one of his prime talents.

Loki didn't hop to on the couch as normal, but instead sat himself down carefully and turned to face in Logan's direction. "So," he suddenly said, "I suppose I should tell ya a bit about me self, yah?" Loki raised his eyebrows, nodding his head forward at Logan. Before Logan even gave him any confirmation, Loki shot away on a train of erratic speech. "Well, I grew up in U.K. as a little one 'til me parents moved us around all over the place. Spent a right spot of my life in all sorts a countries, saw a bunch of places and made a bunch of memories. Lovely people all over the globe. Been to Brazil, China, America, nearly all of Europe, brief stint in Russia but we didn't like it much, very cold, then we were in Japan and South Korea and Thailand and Australia and Papa New Guinea . . . and oh!"

Loki wondered just then if he should mention how he met Mits and decided maybe just explaining the basics. "I met Mits — that's your sister, Mitsuko, I like to call her Mits — about a year ago over the summer. We didn't know each other very long, just a few days, but as fate would have it, we met up again here in Elysium, and well, the rest as you know is history. Or, well, present if ya wanna be technical." Loki nodded slowly, wondering then what else he should cover until Mitsuko got back.

Mitsuko wrinkled her nose, smiling. "Like I would do anything I can't charm a cute guy into doing for me." Her demeanor was quickly returning to normal. She still felt a mass of sadness and confusion, but it was much easier to put aside and focus on her normal, everyday things when around Loki.

"That's sweet of you to offer, Sailor," Mitsuko said to Loki. She looked Logan over. "I dunno. He might like baggy clothes. What do you say, Logan.... You like the baggy look?"

Logan shrugged, keeping his head down.

"We'll find something for you," Mitsuko ruffled his hair. "Don't worry. You won't have to run around naked."

Logan went wide-eyed at this tease. Mitsuko wasn't sure she should be teasing a boy who had gone through the trauma of the virus, war and losing his parents, but it was how she was. She needed to get him used to her.

He remained silent as always while Loki talked. Even if Logan did talk, he didn't think he would be able to get a word in edgewise around the Muse. Loki sounded like he had a very interesting life. Logan hadn't been many places-- his trip to Elysium aside. He mostly stayed at home in Vancouver.

Mitsuko didn't even know he was from Vancouver. He picked up his sketchbook again, flipping to a picture he had done. It was of a building in Vancouver, the Canadian flag prominently outside it. He pointed to the flag, smiling sadly. There was a pang in his heart. He was never going to see Vancouver again, was he?

Logan listened to Loki's explanation of his relationship with Mitsuko. Logan furrowed his brow. He opened his mouth, but found himself unable to make a sound. He closed his mouth and turned away quickly.

"I'm back!" Mitsuko announced, coming down the stairs. She was dressed in a pretty black dress with white flowers. It was much simpler and demure than her usual outfit. If she were going out with her brother the day after their father's funeral, she didn't think looking particularly sexy was appropriate. "So are we ready to go?"

Loki peered over as Logan opened the sketchbook to a certain page and pointed out one of the pictures. Spotting the Canadian flag immediately, Loki noticed Logan pointing directly to it with his finger. The muse glanced upwards and saw the sad smile on Logan's face, and somehow Loki understood and smiled back at him.

"Ya from Canada, 'ey?" Loki said, though the question was more of a statement than a question, since Loki seemed to get the picture without hearing the other boy admit it out loud. It wasn't as if Loki noticed that Logan wasn't talking. In fact, Loki probably wouldn't notice anytime soon that Mitsuko's brother didn't speak (although surely everyone else would notice long before the muse ever would).

Though Logan looked away, there wasn't much of an expression on his face, and Loki didn't notice that either. It passed by the muse's eyes as he rambled for a while and then trailed off, staring over to the side somewhere with a pondering look in his face, until Mits came back.

Loki hopped up when Mits returned, beaming with a bright smile. "Aye!" he announced happily. "We're ready!" He paved the way towards the door, opened it up, and held it open for Mits and Logan. Time for shopping! Something cheery to uplift the mood, and maybe Logan would have a just a little bit of fun. "Off we go!" Loki said, and the three of them left the cottage for some well-spent time in town.
