Who: Travis and Adrienne
Where: Marketplace
When: Evening
What: Putting up flyers and hanging out

Travis was pretty honored that he was picked as a Vice Council Nominee. Maybe he wasn’t picked in a normal way, maybe his daughter paid someone, or maybe there was some undercover threatening going on. Either way, he was setting up flyers throughout the town with a grin on his face. Not a corny grin like “Oh my god, I got nominated!”. It was somewhat a pride theme grin because he thought He stepped back, cigarette in mouth to check one out. "Perfect. Look at me. I look batshit insane but oh so dedicated."

Travis could see himself as a good representative for the town because he would be fun and not some guy that looked miserable to be a person in charge. Even the competition process was fun to him. Hell. He had nothing to do for the day. Why not make flyers and check out other peoples to see what his competition was like? So far, it looked like it was going to be quite the fight. Especially since Travis was a better speaker than a writer.

There was a temptation to doodle on some of the posters when he arrived in the Market Area, but instead he behaved himself.

It seemed as if the entire town was becoming covered in hand made campaign posters ever since the nominees for Vice-Council were announced. The werewolf couldn't go into any shop in the Market Place without seeing a flyer describing yet another nominee. It was kind of exciting to see something so democratic going on in their little town, and Adrienne was actually looking forward to voting.

The sun was beginning to set in the sky, dark orange and yellow shooting across the atmosphere. Adrienne pulled her jacket around her body a little more to fight off the chill in the air. She had a sudden urge for some hot chocolate; the idea of the warm liquid flowing down her throat brought a smile to her face. She began to make her way toward the café when she noticed someone putting up another poster. Curiosity got the better of her, so much so that she came to a full stop.

She couldn't help but smile when she saw the picture the man decided to use. She agreed with the words he said - he looked batshit insane, but at least it served to catch people's attention. "Nice pic," she said while giving the man a sideways glance. "You look like a pyro. Now the question is, do I want a pyro on the Vice-Council." Adrienne turned to face him fully; she was in an awfully playful mood and she wanted to see what this guy had to say. "Well, c'mon. Convince me."

Travis turned an eye towards the young woman before he fully looked at her. It was okay to think she was attractive since he had a twenty five year old brain at times. It was always good to stay in the field of the young. “Why should you pick me even though the pictures look like one of those anti-campaigns saying that I’m crazy and I may let this place run wild? He gave it two seconds thought since the girl wanted him to answer on the spot it seemed.

“First of all, you’re close about the pyro thing. I’m a Fire Mage. Though that really can’t do much help except light the candles at the Temple it’s a cool party trick. I’m a fun guy. Who wants to be bored to tears with council members who take their job so seriously you would rather sleep at town hall meeting then listen? I got to tell you, the elf woman in the only reason why I stay awake. If I were gay, Dylan would be a close second.” He laughed freely after saying the blunt comment.

“That’s another thing. I have a sense of humor. Even in shitty times you need a sense of humor. If we all live in doom and gloom we’re going to be scared of a sanctuary. Take the murders of the poor faes for example. If we all live in fear, have curfews and don’t spread some cheer by having some sort of gatherings related to fun, we’ll just not feel safe. We’ll be bored and scared. Sometimes you have to see the good in the bad and not be afraid to laugh in hard times. At Town meetings if people think they can make this place safer, by all means I would let them put ideas in a suggestion box. Same would go with ideas about new buildings, activities and programs.”

He tried to think about what else he could say. “Hm, I have a daughter, so I’d be pretty into the safety of others all at the same time. I’d just let my balls hang freely if you know what I mean. Not be such a tightass about everything.” He was pretty blunt with how he said things, as she would now know.

For an older guy Travis was pretty good looking, but Adrienne couldn't say that he was her type. In fact, no one other than Zach was her type, and she never found herself attracted to anyone else. Zach was the only one for her, and she loved him very much.

She smiled at Travis as he spoke, keeping full attention on him to show that she was truly interested. Besides, if he were willing to talk with her then why shouldn't she listen to him? It was the polite thing to do, after all. So far, he was making some really good points. The lycanthrope found herself agreeing with him, especially his comment about having a sense of humor. Adrienne believed that too much gloom and doom made things worse, and it was nice hearing that a potential Vice-Council member thought the same.

"Wow, it sounds like you've been practicing that speech," Adrienne teased. "Telling me what I want to hear so you can go wild when you're in office. I can see it now, Mister Fire Mage, bonfires all over the town courtesy of your power. Everyone will dance around them naked, drunk off their asses from all the ale they've downed. They'll be so smashed they can't help but be happy, right?" She arched a brow, and raised a finger to him, wagging it playfully. "I'm on to your plan," she said before she leaned in to whisper. "And I like it."

Adrienne laughed a little more, holding her hand up to wave it quickly. "I'm joking, I'm joking," she said to dismiss her words. "But an occasional bonfire party wouldn't be bad, right?" She paused a little bit, letting her giggling subside before she continued. "On a serious note, though, I agree with everything you've said. I think that the key word here is balance, right? You can't be too strict, but you also can't be too free with things. You have to find a happy medium. Sorta like boxer-briefs; the freedom of boxers, with the support of briefs. That is if we're sticking with the balls analogy?" No, Adrienne didn't have a problem with bluntness or being blunt. She also didn't have a problem with jokes men normally made; it was the result of having more male than female friends.

"Actually. I just came up with that!" Travis started. If he planned something, he was certain that he would make an ass of himself. When he would try and get his message across with his crew back home, if he just pulled something out of his ass, they tended to listen. But if he practiced what he was going to say and did the whole clearing his throat ordeal, they tended to listen to him much less. If it was spontaneous and made people suddenly turn their heads, he liked that. If it caused him to get in trouble and lose his position on the Vice Council, should he gain it, hell it was fun while it lasted!

Travis broke out laughing when she spoke of what he might do. Man, he was liking how she thought. "You know, I can't say that I wouldn't do that. You know how much fun it would be to have bonfires for a Council meeting? I mean we could just be relaxed while talking about concerns. You know passing hershies, gram crackers and marshmallows while talking about how we feel. I think it might get people to listen more. Especially if the council members do the same. It gets us to look much more relaxed." He leaned in to whisper. "And hey. I'm for being drunk as long as your safe."

He kept laughing when it came to talking about balls. "Hey, it's cool you don't mind balls. It seems like you secretly have some. You know, of course figuratively speaking." Folding his arms, he continued. "I totally believe in balance. I'm laid back, but I will completely smack a bitch if they need it. Of course, in ways that aren't all that violent."

Did he just say "smack a bitch" she asked herself. Adrienne couldn't help but laugh when he said those words, never imagining that an adult (well, more adult than she was) would ever say those words out loud. She placed an arm across her stomach while she giggled, and then calmed herself enough to at least speak to the man. "Oh you're funny," she said with a smile. "I like that." She smiled at the man, and held out her hand to him.

"Adrienne," she said introducing herself. "It's nice to meet you." Once they were properly introduced she put her hands back into her pockets, and began rocking back and forth on her feet. Now that their fun banter was out of the way she wasn't sure what they could talk about, or if he wanted to talk with her at all. "So..." she said as she eyed the café. "I was just about to head to the café for something to drink. Non-alcoholic," she emphasized with a smirk. "You can come with, if you want," she offered. "The company would be nice." Adrienne enjoyed meeting new people, and though Travis was older she had a feeling they could be friends. And this was the first step on their road to friendship.
