Wednesday: November 7, 2007
Who: Freya and Adrienne
When: Afternoon
Where: The Stables
What: Going for a ride with someone new..

Freya had to admit the stable was an area she was growing attached to. For some reason horseback riding, though something she was unfamiliar with was a fun thing for her to do at least three times a week and would for some reason ease her headaches. Most likely it was because her company was her favorite horse that she had named Casper. She had no idea why, she just liked the name. She was certain it had like ten thousand names, but the horse actually responded to the name she had given it, so that was a good sign. It was also extremely kind towards her and followed her every command. She needed a horse such as Casper since she was inexperienced and didn’t need a horse knocking her to her behind.

She was getting her horse saddled up when she could have sworn she heard someone else in the stables. When she cautiously looked around and discovered someone else in the area she smiled shyly. She hadn’t really met too many people since her arrival so she wasn’t certain if everyone was as welcoming as Adio. “Do..” She cleared her throat since her voice was very soft when she began to speak.

“I was.” She pointed back to her horse, pretty much ready to go for her riding session. “I was getting ready to for me ride for the day. Would you like to join me?” Sometimes it was awfully lonely riding by ones self.

The stables were becoming a favorite place for Adrienne as well. It seemed she was able to meet all sorts of people there, and today was no different. She was just brushing Sable, Zach's favorite mare, when she heard someone saddling a horse. Adrienne didn't think much of it, lots of people came in and out of the stables to ride horses so the werewolf didn't make herself known to the stranger. She continued brushing Sable, creating a slick shine on the horse's black coat.

And then the person cleared their throat, and began to speak. Adrienne took a couple of steps backward to get a better look at the girl. She smiled broadly, eyes twinkling even in the dimly lit stables. "Sure!" Adrienne replied enthusiastically. She hadn't really planned on riding today but how could she say no when someone asked her so nicely? Besides, a little fresh air would do Sable some good.

"Wanna go for a ride, girl?" She asked. The horse whinnied in response, and Adrienne smiled as she ran her hand over the horse's cheek. "That'a'girl," she said before she turned to Freya. "I'm Adrienne, by the way," she extended a hand in introduction. "And I'll be ready to join you in five minutes, just gotta get her saddle."

“Wow, that’s a beautiful horse.” Freya complimented. She had good taste in horses, in fact she had seen the horse the other day and contemplated trying the horse out, but she was afraid a new horse was a bad idea. For all she knew it wouldn’t like her. She had no idea how the whole horse thing worked out. The sad thing was that she came from a place where horseback riding was very popular. Lord of The Rings was filmed in her hometown and horseback riding became even a trend for awhile. But Freya must have missed the handing out of the note.

“My name is Freya. I like your name, very warrior like since it means the dark one..I think, I could be totally wrong and have just looked like a doofus.” Having a job as a wedding planner she knew all sorts of things. Random name meanings were one of them. “Either way, it’s really nice to meet you.”

She nodded about the young woman getting ready and made a motion that she was going to take care of her horse as well. “I’ll bring over Casper to you. She’s just about ready.”

"Thanks!" Adrienne patted the horse's cheek gently, and the graceful creature neighed in response. Normally, Zach would take Sable out for a ride, but the werewolf's boyfriend was no where in sight and the horse seemed excited at the prospect of going out. Besides, horseback riding was the only way to get to far off places in Elysium. There was something very simple about riding upon a horse; a throw-back to older times that brought a feeling of peace to the lycanthrope.

She blushed at the compliment, and chuckled a bit. "Not sure if I'm a warrior, but yeah my name means dark. I think my parents named me that because of my hair," she said as a small joke. Really, her father wanted to name her after the Adriatic Sea, but instead of Adria, he and his wife named their daughter Adrienne. "It's nothing special, though," she said with a shrug. "But your name is really awesome. Freya... I've never met anyone with your name."

The lycan saddled and bridled her horse, making sure everything was tightened to prevent injury to herself and the horse. Sable dragged her front, right hoof against the ground. She was eager to go out for a ride, and Adrienne had to admit that she was getting excited, too. Adrienne slipped her foot into the stirrup, and hoisted herself onto the horse. "Ready to go," she asked Freya as she led Sable out of the stables and into the cool air.

Freya almost wanted to laugh about her name as she finished getting her horse ready. “Funnily enough, it just means woman. But thank you for the compliment. It makes me feel better about my name.” She remembered thinking maybe her name meant fire or something that of exciting, but when she looked it up she near frowned. She felt like her parents were excited to have a baby girl so in Norse they wanted to let everyone know that she was of the female sex.

Freya mounted her horse and nodded to Adrienne. “Yep, sure am.” She made sure her horse stayed in stride with Adrienne’s when she tapped its side ever so gently with the side of her heel. She never was one for being forceful with what she considered the gentle somewhat medium giants if you took out a stallion.

“You know. I heard if you’re not careful there are some nasty creatures about. I don’t know what trail though. I just take my chances and roam about where I wish.” She smirked a little, shaking her head a little to get some of her chocolate brown strands away from her face.

The two girls and their horses pranced out of the stables at an easy pace. It was a nice day out, and Adrienne was glad that she accepted Freya's invitation for a ride. The werewolf took a deep breath of the fresh air that surrounded them, and she smiled over at Freya.

"There are some dangerous things around here," Adrienne said thoughtfully. She remembered the harpies that had attacked the town just a few days earlier, still wondering why they had done so in the first place. Adrienne figured that she and Freya would be safe just as long as they stayed away from any creatures that they might run into or see. It didn't seem likely, though, since most of the more dangerous animals in Elysium kept to deeper parts of the forest and away from people.

Adrienne led Freya on a trail that would take them toward the Abandoned Elven Palace in the Northwest. They could talk and get to know each other along the way. It was a nice day out, after all, and a trip with a new friend made it even better.
