Wednesday: November 7, 2007
Who: Mitsuko and Kayo
When: Afternoon
Where: The Cafe
What: The Meeting of Cute Kitsune Chicks

As with most days, Mitsuko was working at the cafe. She was quickly becoming a favourite waitress. Not only was Mitsuko a good waitress, many of the male citizens of Elysium coming in to be flirted with by the young Kitsune. She enjoyed working, as it meant she got to meet more people in town. Meeting new people was fun and she had to admit it (as Irei had pointed out) she loved the attention she received from her cute uniform and flirtatious attitude.

Mitsuko pulled the pocketwatch from inside her top. She opened it and looked at it. She had to leave early in order to make it to Irei's seance. While she had not been close to Kaiya in life, Logan insisted on going. Mitsuko wanted to be there for him. There was also the possibility Kaiya would reveal the identity of her killer-- Hayate! Mitsuko was certain of it.

She had just set down a pot of tea and cups on a table sitting two sprites. She had turned back to go into the kitchen when her enhanced senses caught a scent. A Kitsune. She let out a groan and looked around for her mother. She could not see the woman. She then looked for Shigeru, wondering if the Genko had finally reappeared.

But as she looked around, she saw absolutely no sign of ears or tail on her customers. She decided to follow her nose and find the source.

Kayo swirled her tea with a spoon while leaning on her elbow, still somewhat preoccupied on trying to remember what she had dreamed the night before. Snowy white ears....

She munched on her pastry, content with this bundle of goodness filled with gooseberry jam. She had heard of strawberries, blueberries, and even goji berries but never has heard of gooseberry. Regardless, it was tasty in jelly like form and momentarily satiated her. It was November, the seasonal cue for mating season for her clan. She recalled how last year the younger male Kitsune were particularly rowdy, trailing after her scent and trying their hardest to be cooler than they really were for a shot at getting in her fur. As bothersome as they were, Kayo did feel smug from stealing their attention. However this year seemed like it would be a little bit of a challenge dealing with mating season. Usually she'd have a few midnight trysts here and there with the other males in her clan and maybe even with a human or two, but this year was different. Although there lacked the normal species that she was used to having sex with, there were a myriad of other creatures to choose from.

Kayo's attention shifted when the presence of another Kitsune was close by. It was a little crowded in the cafe today, making it a little harder to pick out people efficiently. Not him....not her.....not him either.... She felt a bit excited at the prospect of meeting another Kitsune. Her line of sight moved along from person to fae until they fell upon a waitress, a very pretty waitress. She too seemed to be looking for something. As their eyes met, she smiled and waved. "Can I get a refill for this tea please?"

The scent of a kitsune was unmistakably coming from this woman. She was quite pretty. Probably around Mitsuko's age, although it was difficult to tell with their species. The girl hadn't noticed Mitsuko's ears and tail yet, it seemed. Maybe she was too distracted by her uniform.... It did tend to draw the eye. Or perhaps she just did not care if there was another kitsune around.

Mitsuko picked the pot of tea up off the table. She gave the girl a smile. "No problem." With a flick of her tail, she went back to the kitchen. As she prepared the tea, she took a deep breath and tried to figure out what she would say to the kitsune girl. It wasn't exactly the best situation to meet another kitsune in-- acting as a waitress. But she would act with the same self-assurance as always. This job was her choice. No matter what, she was Kamiyama Mitsuko.

She brought out the tea and set it on the table. "There you go." She took the seat across from the girl. "Now do you mind telling me how you have managed to hid your ears and tail?" She cocked her head. "Kamiyama Mitsuko desu. Anata-no namae wa?"

Japanese-English
Kamiyama Mitsuko desu. Anata-no namae wa = I am Mitsuko Kamiyama. What is your name?

Kayo was taken aback in surprise from the waitress' forward action, but her suspicion was correct. Was this one of the other Kitsune that Midori had told her about? There were two others and a half, one male that did not seemed to be here anymore and the other was her daughter. The daughter! Though honestly she had a more prim and proper image of her, but the way that Mitsuko put herself forth did not seem so. She had a very confident aura around her much similar to Midori's. Unlike Kayo, both mother and child seemed to let their presence be known. However the girl observed that they showed their presence in different ways. Much different ways.

It seemed puzzling to Kayo that the daughter of the Light of Hokkaido was working at a cafe. Aside from how attractive Mitsuko looked in her uniform, she also noticed her Tama no Hoshi. She remembered Midori telling her about this girl's fondness towards humans; at least she was still part of her clan.

"Miyafuku Kayo desu. Ocha ga arigato gozaimasu" she replied while pouring another cup of tea. Since the cat, or rather fox, was out of the bag she let her golden orange tail slip out from her illusion. "As for hiding these features," Kayo said as she swung her tail up, "aren't they common tricks for a Kitsune?"

Japanese to English
I am Kayo Miyafuku. Thank you for the tea.

Mitsuko leaned back in her seat. She was perfectly comfortable with just taking a few minutes off her job and joining a complete stranger at her table. There was little that Mitsuko was incredibly uncomfortable with, really... As long as she wanted to do something, why shouldn't she? She looked over this Kayo Miyafuku. She didn't recognize the name and she didn't see a Hoshi no Tama. She was at a bit of a disadvantage.

"Very nice to meet you, Miyafuku Kayo." She cocked her head to the side and smiled. "Perhaps that was one of the lessons I skipped. I can disguise my ears and tail briefly, but not for an extended period of time. And usually I only hide one or the other. It's too hard to do both. Let's just say I have a very extensive collection of hats in my possession...."

She narrowed her gaze on the Kayo's neckline "I see you don't have a Hoshi no Tama," she decided to point out the obvious. She then leaned in, whispering almost conspiratorially. "Are you a Nogitsune too? You know, I've never actually met another. I suppose that's why they call us rogue Kitsune. We tend to stay away from our own kind."

Kayo ears perked up at Mitsuko's continuing forward gestures. She was very surprised that the Light of Hokkaido's daughter was a Nogitsune. Perhaps that was why Midori spoke with such a distant tone. "Perhaps...." she spoke casually. Indeed the other girl knew how to push the right buttons. Honestly Kayo did not know anymore how she felt about her Nogitsune status. At first she did not care and frolicked in the human world as she pleased, but her journey to Elysium with Nagi made her realize how important her clan was to her. On the other hand, she grew to understand that she could not have the best of both worlds and struggled to find where she properly belonged.

None the less, she was very much intrigued with the other Kitsune's character. They had more in common than she expected. Given Mitsuko's interest in her camouflage skills, Kayo took it as a window of opportunity. She moved a bit more toward Mitsuko to lessen the distance between them and with her palm cupping her face, Kayo slowly smiling, "But I would not mind seeing another of our own kind...especially if she would be as beautiful as you."

Kayo gave a long look over Mitsuko, starting to feel that she looked a little bit familiar. At first it may have been the resemblance between her and the Light of Hokkaido, but no it was something else. "I take it that you would like to 'get rid' of these..." she said as she reached over and played with Mitsuko's ears.

Ah... There they were again. Snowy white ears...

It actually wasn't all that surprising to Mitsuko that the Light of Hokkaido's daughter was a Nogitsune. The legacy of Kamiyama Midori was impossible to live up to. Nothing Mitsuko would ever do would be good enough for the legendary Kitsune. Under the thumb of Midori, Mitsuko would have never been allowed to do anything.

She already liked this other girl. She was different from the other Kitsune she had met. It was a refreshing change. To meet someone who did not immediately look her nose down at Mitsuko, who didn't even know about Mitsuko's terrible reputation.

She arched a brow when Kayo moved closer to her, cupping her face. She was a bit surprised by the moment, to tell the truth. With the touching of her cheek and the compliment, Mitsuko half-wondered if this Kitsune girl was coming onto her. It would not have been entirely unwelcome if she was. While Mitsuko's interest had always been directed more towards men, she had a handful of female conquests under her belt. Her own opinion on her sexuality was she would do anyone she thought was gorgeous enough. Kayo was certainly qualified.

"I quite like my ears, honestly," Mitsuko admitted. "I wouldn't mind my tail getting out of the way. I've worked far too hard on my fantastic ass for it to be covered up all the time." She let out a small giggle. Her ears had always been incredibly sensitive, even an erogenous zone. "But it might be nice to have some more freedom to move around. The ears do make me stand out." She brought a hand up to Kayo's carefully moving them away. "And you should be careful, Kayo-chan." She purred softly, leaning in. "Having people touch my ears always revs my engine. You don't want me to jump you.... Or do you?" She smiled flirtatiously. "Do you think you might be able to help me? Teach me what you know?"

Kayo felt a small shiver travel down her spine. It had been a while since someone had talked to her in that sort of way, let alone a fine female such as the one in front of her. She never had an experience with a woman before. The closest encounter she had was with her human friend, but she was slightly above intoxicated at the time. Kayo did not count that much as a conquest. But she was not the type to back down on such a lovely offer, thus not heeding Mitsuko's warning and continue to pet her ears. "Of course," Kayo smiled. "It'll take some work though..."

Even though they were Nogitsune, it didn't change the fact that they were in fact still Kitsune. Kayo was very much obliged to lend out a helping hand. Besides, she knew very well the amount of fun that could come out from skillfully hiding these ears and tail. "It looks like your adoring customers are missing your company," she commented, with a proud grin. "I feel lucky to be able to monopolize you for the time being. Anyway, when would be best for you? I am usually free during the day" the Kitsune started to propose, "...or night"

While Mitsuko had a few flings with women, this was a situation she had not been before. She'd never been with another Japanese girl. More than that, she'd never been with another Kitsune girl. Her only experience with a Kitsune was one she didn't really feel like repeating any time soon (and made her dread her upcoming heat). But there was something very intriguing about the idea of this particular Kitsune. She nearly purred as Kayo ignored her warning and continued to stroke her ears. Well, if that wasn't a greenlight, Mitsuko didn't know what was.

"I have Sundays off," Mitsuko said quietly. "And I don't work nights. I live in town, in the house with the maple leaf chimes on the porch. Come by... Any time you want." She smiled as she got up to get back to work. "And maybe I'll come by your place sometime."

The house with the maple leaf chimes..... Kayo remembered it not being particularly far from her own cottage. "I'll keep that in mind then," the girl said as she watched Mitsuko leave. She felt a little more refreshed after meeting with her. At the same time she also felt relieved that she was not the only Kitsune that didn't exactly have that "traditional" fit. Out of the many other Kitsune Kayo had met in her life, she felt that she was the odd one out. The only one that was "different". Some people in her clan admired her for it, but others did not.

She looked forward to their future encounters. Her tail swayed back and forth, feeling a bit excited from the pleasant surprise today. Kayo looked at the clock to see that quite enough time has passed and there were other places to explore and perhaps more new people to meet. She stood up to leave, but not before grabbing another pastry on her way out.
