Thursday: November 1, 2007
Who: Sanura and Adio
When: Night
Where: Adura Cottage
What: Brother-Sister time

Sanura had to admit that she was a person who liked to observe the other people at The Town Hall meetings. She wanted to see who was bored, who was paying attention and maybe see who didn’t attend. She talked to many of the citizens, so she thought that maybe she would know if anyone wasn’t there. But she was taken so off guard when she learned that Kaiya and Faye had been murdered. Wasn’t this place supposed to be safe? The moment she arrived in Elysium she felt a rush of calamity come over her because she felt like no harm would come to her. Now she felt like she should sleep with some sort of weapon or that she should be careful with whom she spoke to.

She walked into Adio's room and sat on his bed, shaking him awake. “I knew her.” She said softly then forced her brother to move aside in the bed so she could lie next to him. The ceiling was chipping. She would need to fix that. “Faye.” She didn’t say much after that, she felt like crying already.

The Therianthrope turned towards her brother. “Doesn’t it scare you? That this place could be dangerous? That in the middle of the night someone can come into this house and hurt us? We already had someone come in. I don’t know who he was, but even still.”

She scooted closer to her brother and for the first time in a long time, she hugged him and held on to him like when she was a child. “This kind of thing makes me go into the thoughts of worrying about losing you. I just can’t. You’re all I have.”

She looked up at him, eyes glazed in crystal tears.

Adio had been in a state of sleep and made somewhat of an annoyed sound when Sanura forced him to move. But he knew the minute she spoke that she was troubled. He didn’t hesitate to move aside when she forced him to scoot over. “You knew her?” He asked softly. It was already sad that such a crime was committed. But to know someone and now know they were dead? Harsh. He felt pretty saddened by the event and that’s why he just wanted to sleep. In sleep he didn’t have to think about it.

Did it scare Adio? It sure as hell did. When he arrived in their cottage for the first night, he remembered thinking that the worst was over. No more seeing dead bodies sprawled about back on the outside of Elysium. No more bad memories of the PV virus continuing on. There would be nothing but good memories. But now, even in a haven there was no such thing as a perfect world. “Yeah, Nura. But there is nothing that we can do.” He told her softly, but in comforting way. “And I’m your big bro, you know I do the gaurd duties for you.”

He didn’t want her to think about the ‘what if’s’ about if something would happen to him. He was here right now and he could promise that he was going to take care of himself and his sister. “Shh, don’t think like that. You’ll get all ugly since you look awful when you cry.” He teased.

Moments like these reminded Sanura why she loved her brother so much. He was compassionate and he always sacrificed whatever he was doing for her. She didn’t know why she wasn’t fighting some girl for his time. Sanura was glad for that. If he had lost his life during the PV virus, she wouldn’t be the same vibrant girl that she was.

She first punched Adio’s arm for saying she looked ugly when she cried. “I do not!” She only laughed for a brief moment before her frown returned. “Yeah. I knew Faye. She was a wonderful woman. The day we argued and I hated you for a day, I ran into her on the beach.” That sure was a funny, yet meaningful moment in Sanura’s life. “I threw my sandal out of anger and it hit her! I just meant to blow off some steam and I ended up talking to her.” Things really seemed to be more out of sight when someone died. As she was recalling meeting Faye she could swear she felt like she was there all over again.

“Her wings were so beautiful Adio. They were this unbelievable shade of pink. She could have lit up the sky. She was quick to forgive too. Her personality was so wonderful and though she didn’t understand humans fully she had such great advice to give.”

She wiped her eyes hastily, trying to deny the proof that she was crying just a little. “I know. I just met her once. But you can’t help but to think about why someone would want to take that away. So excuse me, I’m going to look ugly for a few seconds.”

Adio could feel Sanura’s sadness when she spoke of Faye. But there was a sense of fondness in her voice was well. He was happy for that because death shouldn’t always be about mourning. As he had told Zane, Adio liked to tell people to picture the dead happy in their designated land. He guessed he had watched What Dreams may Come way too many times. But he agreed with the message of the movie. You make death what you wish. So, he just pictured them in a very beautiful afterlife. Maybe not the same one as his fathers (He saw his father in a land of vibrant Therianthropes, like a more fantastic version of Africa), but it was beautiful nonetheless.

He ran a hand through his shaggy hair before he held one of Sanura’s sleeves to ensure that she stayed in bed with him. "Awh come on. I was only teasing. You know you can cry all you want. Just watch where you put the snot.” He laughed only a little. “Besides I thought you would be all cried out because of your date with that..oh so sexy British guy.”

The minute Sanura heard of Warren her face twisted in a very displeased fashion. “….I do not want to talk about him. Or hear of him either.” Her body turned away from Adio and she was probably breathing out fire. “He never showed up.” She was waiting for her brother to laugh, laugh yet again at her misfortune in the land of Sanura getting a date.

“I work at the bloody Sweets Shop! He works at the TAILORS! NOT TO MENTION WE BOTH LIVE IN THE SAME AREA! ACROSS THE STREET! The least he could have done was tell me that he had a change of heart and didn’t want to see me! But all teary eyed I sit there waiting for him at the restaurant hoping we could just talk about how we feel about this whole event! But NOOO! Mr. Prim and Proper, stupid husky walking, shaggy haired bastard never showed up!” She messed her hair up a bit.

“Granted, I am no woman worth going nuts for. BUT THAT’S FUCKING RUDE!”

Adio blinked a few times, shocked and amused before irritated with the bastard who had him so annoyed for a few days about going on a date with his sister. He thought he almost got introuble with weed too a few days back because he was so stressed and just wanted to sail away for a bit. He knew Sanura was a big girl, but with killers roaming around now, the cutest guy could be waiting to cut your throat.

“He…He stood you up?” He made her turn towards him, determined to make her stay. Damn, she was so fidgety. “He..he stood you up.” His sister was a lot more attractive than she gave herself credit for. So if some loser was going to stand her up, then screw them. “Do you want me to kick his ass?”

The Therianthrope was a fun loving guy, but seeing his sister so upset was completely uncool. “I totally can and will do so. That’s the shittiest thing on the planet to do. I mean, it seemed so dead set. Maybe it was the event that just occurred? It could have hit him real hard. Not that it’s a good excuse. I can still kick his ass.”

Sanura glared up at her brother, her eyes far more determined not to let Warren have any sort of excuse. “Unless he had a birthday part with Jesus, I don’t care.” Her head motioned towards the doorway. “Come tomorrow, I am marching to his house and I am kicking the crap out of him. I can take rejection; I can take a lot of things. But right now is not the time to straight up stand me up.”

For all Sanura knew, Warren did this all the time. Walked his dog and met a girl he thought was pretty and then never showed up. Well unlucky for him, she lived across the street and she didn’t take this sort of thing. Maybe she did on some days, but this was not something she was going to let slide. She needed to take her mind of the worries she felt and her mournful feelings towards Faye and Kaiya. Warren annoyed her so she was at a lose, lose right now. Her heart was slightly pained and her head was scattered because she was pissed.

“If you try and stop me, I will kick your ass too.” She warned, yawing when she realized she was actually quite tired.

Adio set his hands up in defense. “Okay, okay take it easy.” He could understand why she would want to prove why she shouldn’t be messed with. Sanura was nice, sometimes too nice. Perhaps it was time for another reminder that she could also hand a few punches here and there. Adio would be watching from the window when that happened. If there was popcorn or anything of the sorts in the house, he would be munching on that while watching the show.

He had not forgotten that Sanura’s birthday was coming up. In fact he couldn’t believe that she was turning twenty two. He didn’t know if she was excited about it, or a little bit scared. But either way he wanted to mention the occasion to her.

“I can’t believe you are going to be twenty two soon. November 4th is approaching soon. Any ideas on what you want?” he’d get her whatever she wanted. He was sure there was some way to make it, or maybe someone had it and he could make a trade for it. They had plenty of very expensive things that would make for good trade.

Sanura was near the state of sleep, but she heard what Adio had said. She scooted as close as she could to him and looked up to him with a sweet smile. She just stayed silent for a moment while her eyelids slowly began to close granting her first state of sleep. She wanted more memories, wanted to smile when she thought of their childhood and not feel the mourful feelings like the feelings she felt now.

“I just want you here, safe.” Her head fell slightly away from Adio and she curled into a tiny ball. She may have been cute now, but she was a frantic sleeper, often knocking people out of bed.

“Safe..” And she meant it too. She didn’t need anything. She just needed for her and Adio to get along. Moments like these were perfect and they needed to stay in the house and talk more often. Especially since the cold weather was approaching.

It was a blissful request for a birthday present and it made her smile just before she slipped into a comforting sleep.

Adio smirked and shook his head while he watched Sanura fall asleep. He knew he would probably be on the floor in the morning, but he didn’t mind. He would still be sleeping. He didn’t wake all that easily.

When Sanura said that he was a good enough present, he laughed. “That’s bullshit. I’ll ask you tomorrow and see what you really want.” He knew his sister appreciated him, but he had no idea that what she had stated was genuine. Sanura must have wanted clothing since she always talked about how she missed some of the clothing she was unable to bring. She actualy adored ceramics and swords and she had a sweet tooth. He highly doubted he was good enough for a birthday gift since he planned to be around every year.

He was too tired to give it too much thought and shortly after his sister fell asleep, he found himself slipping into a calm sleep as well.
