Tuesday: October 30, 2007 Who: Theora and Adam When: Late Afternoon Where: The Ancient Elven Tree What: Last minute preparations for the festival
With the Hallow's Eve festival one day away, everyone who had volunteered to help found themselves putting on the finishing touches to the décor. Pumpkin shaped lanterns were strung between wooden poles that surrounded the Ancient Elven Tree, as were garlands of orange, yellow and red leaves. There were group of elves who were busy carving jack-o-laterns, while a group of fae were stringing together flowers for crowns. A group of dryads were urging the trees around them to deposit more of their leaves on the ground, and using their powers change them into brilliant colors.
"Priestess!" A small fae fluttered up to the Elven maiden, her hands holding a half-finished wreath. "I need more Canterbury Bells and Bunny Tail Grass!"
Theora turned to the young fae, taking the unfinished wreath into her hand. "Well this is a perfectly good crown as it is. Do you really need more flowers for it?"
The fae's face turned somber, and her wings drooped a little. It was very obvious that she wanted the flowers to finish her wreath, and Theora just did not have the heart to say no. She sighed a little though there was a very clear smile upon her face. The priestess reached out a hand, her fingers underneath the fae's chin to lift it upward. She smiled at the young fae. "I will gather some for you, but you must be patient since I must travel back to the temple in town."
The small fae beamed brightly, and hugged the priestess around her neck. "Thank you!" She squeaked before she flew away with her wreath.
Theora took a deep breath and prepared for the walk back to the temple. She spotted Adam helping with some of the decorations by the Ancient Elven Tree, and she walked over toward the elemental. He had offered his help when the preparations first began, and while he outwardly looked happy Theora sensed some turmoil coming from deep within him. "Adam!" She called out to him, her hand waving in the air. "Would you mind escorting me to the temple? We have not had a chance to spend time with one another, and I would very much like your company as we travel."
