Who: Logan and Kaiya
When: Afternoon
Where: Outside Logan and Mitsuko's cottage, Helicharis
What: Kaiya meets her 'dream man'.

Logan pulled his jacket tighter around himself. It was a bit cool for him to be outside, but he'd felt like getting out of his room. He'd been sitting up there all night, unable to sleep. He was bothered by the dinner party he'd gone to. First... It had brought up his tumultuous feeling for Chris and... Mr. Gray's 'incident'. Logan wasn't sure exactly what had happened, but it had frightened the life out of him.

Not sleeping wasn't new to Logan. Insomnia was something he was rather used to. Ironic, for someone who gained so much power from dreams...

After a long night alone, Logan chose to sit outside the cottage. He'd seen Mitsuko do this often, watching the people walk by. He wasn't sure exactly what she got out of it, but he found it wasn't entirely unpleasant.

He was in the midst of a drawing of Malcolm. The man was on his mind now, Logan now having seen him suffer. He couldn't get rid of the sick feeling in his stomach. He wanted to take care of Maddy, he had promised to... And Malcolm seemed to do that well. Yet now, he was in the Medical Pavilion. At least Maddy still had her other guardian.

Despite the cool weather and even with his dark thoughts, Logan began to feel drowsy. He leaned against the wall of the cottage and closed his eyes. He needed rest. Perhaps, with the cold, he wouldn't fall too deep into sleep, enough that he could have imageless rest. He was so tired of the dreams of others....

Kaiya had slowly been pulling herself out of her depression, leaving the cottage more often and even going into town for errands. Of course, she hoped she wouldn't run into Hayate while she was out, and fate was on her side since she never had. The weather was cool outside, and so Kaiya was slightly bundled up more than usual. The tailoring shop had modified a jacket for her so that her wings wouldn't be restricted within the layers of cloth. They were glittering brightly, her wings, and she wasn't exactly walking outside as much as she was flying just a few inches above the ground.

She had decided to keep to the cottage area, not venturing further than the safe enclave of houses. The fae had taken a new path on this day, and was passing by unfamiliar cottages when she spotted a man sleeping against the wall of a nearby house. Curious, Kaiya fluttered over quietly to investigate only to find that the mysterious man wasn't very mysterious at all.

"Logan-kun!" she said in a voice that was barely above a whisper. Right before the fae's very eyes was the man from her dreams, the one who had saved her from the terrible images from her past. Up until that moment she had thought him a figment of her imagination, someone she had conjured up to soften the blow of bad memories. But no, he was real and he was in front of her. Kaiya knelt down in front of him, dark eyes examining his face's every detail. Yes, it was Logan. The only difference here was that this Logan had white ears on the top of his head.

Kaiya tilted her head to the side. Her fingers were itching to touch the seemingly soft ears, and she did. She reached out slowly, taking the ears in between her fingers to rub them gently in the way you would rub a dog's ears. They were soft, and it brought a smile to her face.

Logan let out a soft moan. He was in that comfortable space between true sleep and awake. Not really conscious, but without dreams. It was a place he liked very much, as he was unbothered by images from the dreams of those around him. He could feel the chill against his skin and knew he was outside. This would keep him from real sleep, as he would not risk harming his body by sleeping in the cold air.

He felt someone near him. It was not a presence that frightened him. Rather, he found it comforting. There was something familiar about it. Perhaps it was Mitsuko, finding him outside their home and leaning in to pick him up and bring him inside. But he felt the touch against his ears. This was definitely not Mitsuko. Mitsuko would never elicit such pleasurable feelings through him. The gentle caress sent warm jolts through his body. His lips parted and he let out a soft moan. No one had ever touched his ears in this manner. Now he wished he had experienced this before. It was just too good...

Logan's eyes fluttered open. He was still drowsy from sleep, his vision slightly blurred. As his senses came back to him, his eyes widened. Kaiya. He opened his mouth, wordlessly showing his shock. Whatever ability he had to speak seemed to have left him again. He was utterly dumbstruck by the presence of his crush in front of him, bringing him such pleasant sensations in his ears. The ears he didn't have in his dreams. He definitely had not drifted further into sleep and slipped into her dreams. This was reality. Kaiya was really in front of him.

He wasn't sure what to do. Part of him was tempted to flee. But he was frozen to the spot, just staring at Kaiya.

Kaiya smiled at Logan when he opened his eyes despite the fact that he looked shocked to see her. She pulled her hands away from his ears, sitting away from him to give him some space. "Ah, gomen nasai," she said with an apologetic bow. The fae raised her eyes to meet his, a light fluttering in her stomach. For some reason it felt like fate to the fae since this was literally her 'dream' man. He had been so perfect in her dreams, and when she had stopped seeing him in her mind she found herself missing him. Even if she was with Hayate during that time his constant absence from her everyday life had the fae longing for companionship. She found it in her dreams in the form of Logan.

And now he was right in front of her. He was different because of the ears, but his face was the same and that was all that mattered. "Logan-kun?" she asked, doubting his existence. Her hand went to his chest. "Logan... is you, yes?" Though she was sure that this was the person from her dreams, there was that slight possibility that he wasn't. He could have been a look-a-like, and if he was that would have devastated the fae. She hoped this was the man from her dreams because her heart couldn't take anything less.

Logan gulped in deep breaths, still frozen to the spot. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do in this situation. He had never been in this sort of situation. All of his thoughts about Chris flew out of his head in the presence of Kaiya. His feelings for the fae came back full force. She was so... Beautiful, gentle, fragile. He wanted to reach out and touch her, but was too afraid to.

His ears were still tingling from Kaiya's touch. He opened his mouth and managed to breath out a few shocked words. "Logan... desu." His Japanese was not as smooth as it was in the dream, the Canadian accent clear in his words. But at least he was able to speak. He was too shocked not to. "Gomen nasai." He wasn't sure exactly what he was apologizing for. There were so many things he could apologize for. His crappy Japanese. The was he was staring at her gape mouthed. Invading her dreams. He swallowed hard. "Kaiya..."

Kaiya could barely believe that Logan was real and that he was in front of her. She was smiling, happiness spread across her face completely. She was glowing, quite literally, and her wings were fluttering happily behind her. Fae dust sprinkled all around, and it decorated the scene as if it were something out of a fairy tale. Still, the fae couldn't help but wonder how this was all even possible. She had dreamed about him, and as far as she knew dreams weren't real.

But it all seemed too good to be true. He spoke her name as if he knew her, but how would he know her since they had never met. Kaiya had seen Logan in her dreams, and she knew him there, but she did not think it was possible for him to dream about her. Kaiya did not know about dreamwalkers, or that people had the ability to go into another's dreams. She knew there were other praeternaturals in the world, but what they were were a mystery to her.

She pulled back a little. Why did he know her name? She blinked at him, unsure of what to say or do. Her brow furrowed. "How do you know me?" she asked in Japanese. She tilted her head to the side. "I dreamed about you, but... did you dream about me, too?"

Logan beamed at Kaiya. He was in front of her. She was real. And he had managed to speak to her. He hadn't said much, but he had said words. That seemed to be enough. The fae dust tickled his sinuses, causing his nose to wrinkle cutely. She was... Ethereal. He couldn't believe this was actually happening. He hadn't been this happy in a very long time.

What was he supposed to say to her now? He couldn't tell her how he'd seen her, been obsessed with her, since he'd come to Elysium. That would make him seem like a creepy stalker. She was so gentle and had so many rough times. He wanted to treat her gently, like a delicate flower. She was... Perfect.

Logan swallowed hard, finally deciding on a course of action. He would tell her the truth... For the most part. "I'm a Dreamwalker," he admitted. His Japanese was inelegant, tripping over some of the pronunciations. "When I sleep, I go into other people's dreams.... I don't mean to!" Yes, with Kaiya he had meant to go into her dreams, but he did have bad control over it and went into other people's dreams without meaning to at times. But not to the same level he had with Kaiya. He just observed them, while with hers he had been a willing participant. "I saw you, your dreams..." He looked down. "I couldn't let those things happen to you. I wanted to help you. I liked you."

Kaiya wasn't sure if she would have thought Logan was a creepy stalker. The girl didn't even know that creepy stalkers could exist in a place like Elysium. Sure, they littered the streets of Tokyo, especially around the brothels, but Elysium was a haven, and surely those sorts of people didn't live in a place that was supposed to be safe.

She didn't think much about Logan's confession. Though his Japanese wasn't perfect, it was enough that she could understand him. He walked into people's dreams, and he had one day walked into hers. Was that when he found her? That first time that he saved her from her father's abusive fists? It was sweet that he wanted to save her, even from something that wasn't real. It was something that brought a smile to Kaiya's face.

"You saved me from my nightmares," she said softly. "I thought that you were some sort of angel, or maybe someone who I had wished into existence. To save me from the demons of my past." Kaiya glanced at him with eyes that echoed her sadness. Logan had seen things in her dreams that Kaiya hadn't told anyone (apart from Faye) about. She felt slightly exposed, and yet simultaneously safe.

"Thank you, Logan-kun," she said with a smile. "For making my dreams a happy place for a while." The fae leaned in to kiss Logan on the cheek. A sweet kiss filled with happiness. Kaiya couldn't believe that Logan was real, though touching him had solidified her belief. She pulled back slowly, and then raised a hand to his cheek. Her fingers trailed along his skin, curious in their discovery as they sought to remember him. He was real, and still there was a part of Kaiya that feared this was all a dream.

"You drew a picture of me," she said suddenly, remembering the gift that had been delivered to her. "You made me prettier than I really am," she said with a smile. All Kaiya wanted to do now was to bask in Logan's presence. It was strange, but for the first time in a long time Kaiya felt... normal. It felt as if she had just been reunited with a long lost love, and now they needed to play catch up before they could move on to something new.

Logan didn't think he was a stalker. Yes, going into a person's dreams was a bit unusually... But he was a Dreamwalker. For him, going into someone's dreams was natural and not out of the ordinary. But to others it might have seemed unhealthy. It wasn't like he had done it all the time.

He couldn't help but smile back when Kaiya smiled at him. It lightened his heart to know that Kaiya was touched by his gesture. She didn't even know the whole story. That while her father was not truly able to harm her in her dreams, he could have harmed Logan. But that wasn't the type of thing he was going to say outright. It wasn't something he wanted to use to impress her.

"I couldn't let you get hurt," Logan's voice was but a whisper. "You were so scared, but so.... Beautiful." He felt his voice starting to falter. "I...." He lowered his head. "I wanted you to be happy. To smile."

Logan's eyes widened when he felt the light brush of lips against his cheek. His face turned red and his ear twitched in slight embarrassment. He had never been kissed by a pretty girl before. Not in a situation like this. It was all very... Overwhelming. He felt his heart begin to speed up as Kaiya's curious fingers explored him. He was lost on what to do, so he just allowed her to continue, assure herself that he was real.

"My... Pictures?" Logan shook his head in confusion. He hadn't given any of his pictures to Kaiya. He had desperately wanted to, but hadn't worked up the courage. Then, he remembered who first suggest he give a picture to Kaiya. Who also helped him pick up a bunch of pictures that had fallen from his sketchbook. "Irei...." He blushed deeper. "Irei thought I should give you a picture. But I... I...." He looked down again. "I thought you might laugh at me." He shook his head slightly. "No. I didn't draw you pretty enough."

Kaiya didn't know anything about dreamwalkers, so she took Logan's words as truth and didn't think to question otherwise. She didn't think it was so bad that he entered into her dreams especially since he made them so pleasant for her. But now the thought came to her that if Logan was a real person, then the things they did together in the dream must have been real as well. They must have kissed and gone out on dates, and she wondered how Logan felt about those things.

The fae noticed the bright blush upon the half-kitsune's cheeks. It was an all too familiar look as she had seen it in her dreams before. But things were different now - he was real, and she was really seeing him with her eyes. It seemed surreal, and Kaiya wasn't sure how she was supposed to react to it. Her initial response was happiness, despite all of the rampaging questions in her mind. Still, the current moment was something that Kaiya considered momentous, and she did not regret the kiss she gave to Logan.

The conversation quickly went to that of the picture he drew, and Kaiya listened carefully to what Logan said. He mentioned Irei's name, and Kaiya's face lit up. "You know Irei-kun?" For some reason hearing Irei's name always made Kaiya happy. He was the first real friend (apart from Faye) that she made in the haven, and she loved him dearly. She blushed, though, when Logan said he didn't draw her pretty enough. Kaiya sought to hide behind something, maybe her hair if it wasn't partially tied back, or even a book (if she had a book). But she was exposed... in the open, and she responded in the only way she knew how.

She bowed her head, and smiled. "Thank you, Logan-kun, for the wonderful picture. I am very glad that Irei gave it to me."

To Logan, those dates were as good at the real thing. But he didn't know how Kaiya would react to hearing such a thing. She had thought he wasn't real. No doubt she would have been more hesitant if she had known that. He didn't want to pressure her into anything. He was still new to romance... To having any sort of friends. He didn't want to go about things wrong.

Logan desperately wanted to stop blushing. He wanted to be cooler, more suave. He had been more collected in Kaiya's dreams. But while he was real, there was a certain confidence to his dream self that he could not seem to muster in the waking hours. But Kaiya didn't seem to be disgusted or uncomfortable around him. That was all that really matter at the moment. He just wanted to enjoy the moment, revel in the fact he could finally be around the woman he had admired from afar for so long.

He nodded at the question about Irei. "Yeah. He's friends with my sister, Mitsuko. He's... Interesting." He smiled a bit at making Kaiya blush. She was very pretty with her cheeks flushed and that he was the one to bring such a reaction from her... Logan hadn't been this happy in a very long time.

"I'm glad he did too," Logan admitted quietly. "And I'm glad you liked it." He paused for a long moment. "Maybe you could sit for me. While I do a painting.... If you wouldn't mind. I'd love to paint you." Of course, Logan didn't need her to sit. With his memory, he could produce a portrait on his own. But it was an excuse to see her, spend some time with her, without the overwhelming connotations of a date.

"Mitsuko-san is your sister?" Kaiya knew Mitsuko, not very well but she did know her. She wasn't sure how she felt about the kitsune considering their very first meeting together. It wasn't a bad meeting, but it made Kaiya uncomfortable. Strangely, the only similarity between Logan and Mitsuko was the ears. They didn't act anything alike at all.

Kaiya would have smiled even more if she knew it made Logan happy. She felt at ease around the half-kitsune, and his shyness seemed to make her own melt away. He was very nice, and she was very glad that he wasn't just a dream. "Sit for you?" She was curious and she tilted her head to the side. "Like a model?" Her wings fluttered a bit faster at the thought, and she nodded her head. No one had ever asked her to do something like that before, and she actually liked the idea.

"Yes, I would like that." She blushed again, and turned her face a little to hide the color that was growing no her cheeks. She hadn't blushed this much in a long time, and it was nice knowing that someone liked her for more than just a good time.

Logan nodded. "Yeah. She is." He paused for a moment. "Well... My half-sister." He wasn't quite sure why he decided to specify. Maybe he wanted to be as honest with Kaiya as he could, tell her everything about his life.

Now that he was speaking to Kaiya, a huge weight was lifted from his shoulders. He had been terrified of meeting her... But now that they were talking, standing face-to-face, he wanted to spend as much time with her as he could. Logan nodded. "Yeah. Like a model. You would be a really good model..." It was adorable how her wings were fluttering. She was... Beautiful.

"All right." Logan nodded eagerly. "Then we'll do that." He swallowed hard. "And maybe... We could see each other at the All Hallow's Eve Festival? I mean, I'm going and if you're going... It might be nice... To see each other."

Logan was such a sweet man that Kaiya couldn't help the surge of happiness that flowed through her. She wasn't sure if a relationship was possible at that point in her life, considering everything that had happened with men recently, but she did want to get to know the half-kitsune better. He was so kind to her, a genuine kindness that she had not felt in a while. The last person who was truly kind to her was Sheldon, and the thought of him also brought a smile to her face.

Kaiya didn't know Logan's thoughts about her, but she did not need to to agree to his request. She nodded at him, and then rose to her feet. "I would like that," she said in English. Maybe he would be impressed with it? Kaiya wasn't sure why she wanted to impress him, but she did. She reverted back to Japanese quickly, however, feeling more comfortable with that. "We will see each other at the festival then." She smiled and then bowed her head toward him. "I am sorry, but I must be going. I look forward to seeing you again, Logan-kun." She bent over to kiss him on the cheek, before she fluttered away from him.

Kaiya felt happier than ever after having met Logan, and now that he mentioned the festival, she was more excited than ever to attend it.

It seemed like a whole new world of possibilities was opening up for Logan. He had actually talked to Kaiya and she was receptive to seeing him. She seemed... To like him. It made him feel better than he had in a long time. All of the doubt he had in his messed up friendship with Chris melted away with Kaiya's sweet smile.

Logan beamed at Kaiya and nodded. "Okay. I'll see you.. .Then..." He turned red again at the kiss on his cheek. "Later."

He watched her flutter away, wondering how something as simple as falling asleep outside could come to such a happy conclusion.
