Who: Mitsuko and Irei
When: Afternoon
Where: The Cafe
What: Mitsuko is working and takes a break for a friend.

Mitsuko's employment at the cafe (and her uniform) had already had an effect on the cafe. It was even more busy than usual during her shifts. The ratio of men to women also shifted greatly.

Currently, Mitsuko was helping a man with his order. He held the menu of sweets in his hand, adjusting his glasses. "I'm not sure I can quite read this..." The man pointed to the bottom of the menu. "Down here."

MItsuko leaned over to look at the menu closely. "That says 'strawberry tart'." She glanced at the man and saw he was looking nowhere near the menu, but more at her breasts.

With a sigh, Mitsuko stood back up. "Okay, if you don't want actual help with your menu, just tell me you want to look at me." She smiled sweetly. "Or..." She hurried off for a moment. She came back with an instant camera. She held it out to him. "You could take a picture of me."

"Really?" The man said eagerly.

Mitsuko held out her hand. "It'll cost you your watch."

"My watch?" The man repeated. "For one picture?"

Mitsuko sighed. "I don't exactly have a trunk full of film here in Elysium. Supply and demand, you know. Come on... You don't want a picture of me?"

After thinking about it for a moment, the man took off his watch and held it out to Mitsuko. She gave him the camera and made a cute pose, slightly bent over and giving him the v sign. There was a flash and the man smiled happily.

Mitsuko took the camera back and briefly looked at the developing photo. She rolled her eyes and gave him the picture. "Is there any thing else? Do you really want dessert?"

"No no, this is good." The man hurried off.

Mitsuko put the camera away again. She knew it would be a good idea to bring that with her to work. But she would have to find a supply of batteries and film, which she wasn't so sure would be easy to acquire. "Pervert. He could have at least taken a picture of more than my breasts."

She turned and grinned broadly when she saw who had just arrived. "Irei-kun!" She said happily.

Irei had been in the mood for some coffee, and he had happened to be near the café where he vaguely recalled hearing that Mitsuko now worked there. For some reason that sounded amusing to him. That pretty little thief must have been bored to start working like normal people do. There must not be much business here for a thief when nothing seemed to have any sort of monetary value.

As he entered the café, another man was shoving his way out of the establishment cradling what looked like a Polaroid in his hands. Irei got a glance of it before the man pushed him aside with his shoulder. Irei chuckled despite the man's rude exit. Looks like Mitsuko was in a generous mood. Hopefully she'll be equally happy to see him. He hadn't seen her since his birthday party.

"Mitsu-chan," He smiled slightly as she called his name and walked toward her, giving her "uniform" a once over as he advanced. "Kirei desu*. If I had known you were handing out pictures of yourself, I would have come much sooner."

Irei slipped his hands into the pocket of his coat. Irei never really wore coats or jackets until he moved to New York. He had learned that it was a good idea to layer and play with different textures in clothes as well. He didn't understand how Mitsuko could handle the weather like it was, but then she had been from the Hokkaido area, and it was getting a little warmer outside this afternoon (if you could call 60 degrees warming up.) He may not need his coat for the whole time he was in Helicharis. But if he planned to go to the wine bar that night, it certainly would come in handy. Irei couldn't imagine it would stay warm-ish as the sun fell in the sky.

He stood near her and leaned in close to whisper, "Would you join me for a coffee on a cold day like today? Or are you to busy to sit with me?"

*You are beautiful.

Mitsuko was beaming at Irei. They hadn't seen each other since his birthday and, as he was the center of attention then, they hadn't gotten to spend much time together. Irei was definitely right in his assumptions about her. She was bored and working at the cafe was a way to fill her time. But spending time with Irei definitely seemed like more fun to her.

She shook her head at the pervert who'd pushed past Irei with his picture. She was glad she'd gotten something as valuable as a watch from him in exchange for her picture. He seemed like a jerk. She made her way over to Irei, a bounce in her step as she went. "Irei-kun...." She had the good nature to blush at his compliment. "Arigatou." She let out a small laugh. "You saw that, ne?" She held up the watch she had just got. "I don't get paid for working here, so I have to earn somehow. But I charge on a sliding scale. My picture is cheaper depending on how devastatingly sexy I find the guy." She gave Irei a devilish look. "So you get one for free."

She hadn't actually come to that situation before. Since she'd started work, only two guys had taken her picture. The man from before and a horny teenager she traded for his jacket. He hadn't much to offer her and the jacket would look good on Logan.

Mitsuko smiled as Irei leaned in and asked her to join him for a coffee. She couldn't help but let out a shiver at the feel of his breath against her ear. She gave him a small nod. "Never too busy for you, Irei-kun. And I am due for my break." She took a step back and tossed her hair over her shoulder. "Let me just go tell my boss and I'll get us some coffee."

Five minutes later, Mitsuko was back with a tray of two coffees. She set them down at a table, her tail giving a small flick as she leaned over to place them down. She sat down at the table and smiled at Irei. "So how are you doing, Irei-kun? We haven't gotten to talk lately."

Irei watched her leave before he slid into an empty chair at the nearest unused table. The crowd was starting to get significantly smaller in the out-door cafe. Probably because the turn of the weather. Irei once again wondered how Mitsuko worked in such skimpy clothes. Were nylons really that warm?

Irei leaned against the wire-backed chair. He was glad he had not taken off his coat, because he could feel the chill through the metal chair, and he really didn't want to jump up and squeal like a girl because of a cold chair, especially not in public.

He smiled as she sauntered back with the the tray. He watched the steam from the hot bitter liquid rise. The hot coffee sounded like it would do a good job of warming him up. Maybe Mitsuko would need the warmth as well.

"Ah, so I assume your boss didn't mind you taking a break? You must be doing a good job here, as a waitress. I beat you bring in a lot more customers, ne?"

Normally when he spoke with Mitsuko, he spoke Japanese, but for some reason when he first made his way into the cafe he had spoken English. He wasn't really sure why. His comfort level with English must be growing. There didn't seem to be many people who spoke Japanese in this place.

Irei took his cup of coffee gingerly, not wanting to burn himself. "Ah, I've been alright. Sascha thinks I'm getting too thin, but I'm ok. How about you? We talked at my birthday party."

Irei smiled. " Mitsu-chan, have you missed me?"

Mitsuko attributed her ability to withstand the cold to simple experience. Ever since she had discovered the reaction her human body could get from men, she'd flaunted it, no matter what the weather. Sometimes she was uncomfortable, but without fail she was able to find someone willing to warm her up. Her maid's uniform was downright modest considering some of the things she was apt to wear.

But Irei was right. She did need the warmth of the coffee. Now that she had stopped moving around the tables, she slipped her hands around the cup, simply to warm her skin a bit. She gave Irei a smile. "I suppose so. Mostly male, it seems." She let out a small laugh. "Not that I'm surprised, considering my... Assets." She gave a small shrug. "I suppose I would have been better suited for the wine bar, somewhere a little less 'family oriented'... But I don't like to be predictable."

Mitsuko spoke in Japanese now, as Irei had spoken to her. She tended to adapt herself to the situation she was in. It was a skill she had picked up as a thief. People were comforted by those who were like them, so she tried to be as much like them as she could. But she enjoyed speaking to Irei in Japanese. She rarely had a chance to speak in her own language anymore.

"You are thin," Mitsuko said, giving Irei the once over. "But you look good to my eyes. Keeping myself busy here." She sighed, thinking of how she and Loki were still keeping things semi-casual. "I don't have much else to keep me busy. Except for Logan and his teenaged angst."

She finally lifted the coffee cup to her mouth and carefully blew on it to cool it a bit. "Mm." She gave a small nod before taking a sip. "You know I'm bereft without your company, Irei-kun." It sounded like a joke, but she had indeed missed Irei's company.

"Mostly male and only amused about it? You can't fool me. You are absolutely ecstatic about it, ne?" Irei leaned back in his chair and watched her warm her fingers with the warm coffee mug. The steam rose from both of their mugs and looked up at the sky, wondering when it would actually start snowing in this place.

"You would think the season for out door dinning would be coming to a close though. You may have to move it inside, or to the restaurant. Then you'll be plenty warm." Irei hadn't seen Mitsuko nor Kaiya in a while, not sense the wedding really. He was actually kind of surprised that Kaiya didn't even come to his birthday.

"Ah, I am very thin." It wasn't as bad as it could have been, and he could only just start counting his ribs. His hip bone was certainly more prominent, and his collar bone sharper than ever. But most of this was fairly natural on him anyways.

Irei blew on the steam, hoping to cool down the beverage enough that he could take a sip without burning his tongue. He smiled slightly at her. "It is nice to know I was missed. Life would certainly not be worth living without your own pleasent company." He vaguely wondered how her boyfriend was, that tall man who seemed very preoccupied with the ocean.

Mitsuko smiled coyly. "Well, I suppose I am. Attention can be... Quite enjoyable." She leaned over, the dress Kazuki had designed for her enhancing her rather modest cleavage. She laughed softly. "Maybe I am a little happy about it" She smoothed down the skirt of her dress. "Do you like my uniform? The tailor, Kazuki, made it for me. I think it's really cute. I need to get him to make me some more clothes. I like him."

"Mm." Mitsuko nodded, looking around. "I usually go to sunnier climates during the winter months. But maybe it's not too bad. I have fur and all," She shrugged. "At least when I'm in my animal form. I've been spending some more time foxy lately." She gave Irei a flirtatious smile. "Of course, I can think of some more fun ways to keep warm."

Mitsuko ran a finger down the collar of Irei's coat. She made an appreciative purr. "Thin, but you still look very good." She pulled her hand back. "But maybe you should eat more. Do you want me to get you a muffin or something? We have pumpkin muffins, in honour of Halloween."

Taking another sip of her coffee, Mitsuko used her cup to hide her smile. She didn't want Irei to see how happy his comment had made her. "Mm. I know I'm exciting beyond all measure." She set her drink down. "Any plans for Halloween?"

Irei could have laughed at her attempt at shyness. He smiled instead and watched as she displayed herself for him in what she had designated as her work uniform. "Kazuki-san? Ah, I have met him. He is a nice guy from what I can remember. I was a little buzzed at the time. I have not gotten a chance to wear the clothes that he gave me yet. Hopefully there will be an occasion to wear them soon."

He shrugged and looked up at the sky again. He wondered how long it would be until snowy weather would come to this place. Snow always made places look pristine and beautiful with the tiny, fluffy icicles falling from the sky, and yet he bitterly hated it. New York had been hell for him in the winter time. He preferred not to go out at all.

He returned her smile at the innuendo. "You'd have to come to me then, seeing as you already have a fur coat."

Irei shook his head. "Iie, no thank you. I really don't like sweets all that much. Coffee is just fine for now. I'll eat something when I return home. I promise."

" Plans?" Irei picked the cup up and gingerly drank some more of the hot liquid before replying. "You could say that. I have a special surprise for that night. Come find me then and you will see it." Irei was immensely proud of his idea that he had borrowed from a 13-year-old girl.

It was good to hear Irei laugh. It wasn't something the man seemed to do often and Mitsuko liked to be the one to make him. "He was very nice to me when we met. And I'm familiar with his designs from... You know, before. It's nice to know fashion won't become completely extinct in Elysium. I do like my labels and he has a very, very good one." Yes, she was a little shallow. But such was Mitsuko. If people didn't like it, they didn't have to deal with her. "I bet you'll look great in what he made for you. Then, you'd probably look good in a garbage bag."

Mitsuko didn't mind the snow. Perhaps it was where she was from. She did prefer to stay warm (and thus be able to be human and dressed as scantily as possible), but there was something nice about the snow. But she could understand a dislike of snow.

Licking her lips seductively, Mitsuko blew Irei a kiss. "I'll have to do that then. I guarantee you'll enjoy being warmed up by me." She felt a fluttering in her stomach, images flooding to her mind of every way she could keep him warm and how much she actually wanted to do them.

She nodded. "All right. But definitely eat something." She gave him a playful poke in the ribs. "Emaciation isn't really a turn on, you know."

"A special surprise?" Mitsuko arched a brow. "I'll definitely keep an eye out for you then. I have something planned too. I think it'll be... Unexpected."

Irei smiled at her. "Hopefully it won't come to me having to wearing a garbage bag. I'd just assume become a nudist." Irei was a little shallow when it came to clothes as well. He had threated to throw away Sascha's holey jeans since he had first become comfortable to criticize his friend in such a manner. Sascha would look so good in something that actually fit him.

Irei's mind had wondered off and he blinked to return focus back to Mitsuko. She was a sweet girl, but he knew pretty early on with her that she liked attention. "You can warm me up all you like Mitsu-chan, because otherwise you might not seem much of me come winter."

"Don't worry. Sascha will force something down my throat when I go back home. He always does." Irei knew that was probably the only reason he hadn't keeled over yet.

"Ah, when you see me next, you might think you've gone back to Japan and back a few hundred years."

He looked up and covered his eyes from the sunlight. It was getting a little late, and he had only stopped by for a visit. There were still things he needed to do to get ready for Halloween.

Mitsuko arched a brow, smirking at Irei. "You know, I don't think many people would complain if you became a nudist-- garbage bag or no." She gave him a wink. She wasn't big on holey jeans herself, unless they had been artfully ripped prior to wearing.

The love of attention stemmed from Mitsuko's lack of attention from her parents. She would never admit it even to herself, but she had been so neglected by those who were supposed to care for her, she took it where ever she could. "That would be a tragedy, Irei-kun... I will definitely have to.... Keep you hot."

Mitsuko arched a brow at Irei's description of his Halloween costume. "Eh... Don't know if I'm too hot on that, Irei-kun. Sounds like my clan to me." But she was sure he would look gorgeous regardless.

"Mitsuko!" The manager of the cafe called out, trying to gain her attention.

Mitsuko sighed and got up. It seemed her short visit with Irei was drawing to a close anyway. "I have to go back to work." She leaned in a gave him a swift peck on the cheek. "Don't be a stranger. You do a good job heating this place up."
