Friday: October 26, 2007 Who: Sheldon and ???? When: Night Where: The Wine Bar / One of the upstairs rooms What: Another one bites the dust
It was hard to fathom that anything destructive could take place in a haven, especially after all of the chaos the world experienced in the months prior. But human nature, the most basic of human nature, was violent and full of discord. People were not born with kindness, but with selfishness and greed. They only knew to want, and to take whatever it was they desired. Kindness had to be bred and nurtured, and passed on from one generation to the next.
It was hard to believe that human nature only needed an instant to revert back to its feral roots...
Or was it really? Knowing that the haven contained a mix of people, kind and violent alike, was it really any surprise that violence would have broken out eventually? The wine bar, it seemed, was a magnet for such acts. It's drunken patrons, and laissez-faire attitude was the perfect breeding ground for such things. People hardly paid attention to the comings and goings of others, or what they decided to do with one another. Men and women could fuck each other in one of the darkened corners, or the bathroom, and no one would be the wiser. And the rooms upstairs were perfect places for a late night tryst. It wasn't uncommon, which was why it seemed almost foolish for the Head Council to believe that people could turn a new life with a snap of their fingers. Human nature, violent human nature can only be contained for so long before it would need an outlet.
The Wine Bar's barmaid, Eliza, had not been seen in the tavern the entire day. Her smiling face, and voluptuous body was normally there, from sunrise to sunset. The Wine Bar was Eliza's place of work, and she could always be found there. But she was missing on this day, leaving the other bartender alone to deal with the patrons. It was unusual to not see Eliza, and many of the customers asked of her whereabouts. It wasn't until late that night that she would be found in the very Wine Bar that she loved so dearly.
The upstairs billiards' room was a favorite amongst the patrons, but today it had been locked. No one had asked to open it to play a round or two, for if they had they would have found Eliza lying naked on the pool table. Her blood stained the green felt of the table as it dripped from the puncture wounds in her neck. Her body, normally warm to the touch, was cold, touched by Death's icy hand. Her skin, normally pink in hue, was pale blue from the loss of blood from her body. Her dark hair, normally soft and smooth, was matted, clinging together by the sticky substance that had once given her life. There were no other marks on her body, other than the slight bruises around her delicate neck, and the obvious signs that she had copulated with someone moments before her death.
Eliza was dead, and no one found her body until they unlocked that door to find her.
