Who: Sheldon and ????
When: Night
Where: The Wine Bar / One of the upstairs rooms
What: Another one bites the dust

It was hard to fathom that anything destructive could take place in a haven, especially after all of the chaos the world experienced in the months prior. But human nature, the most basic of human nature, was violent and full of discord. People were not born with kindness, but with selfishness and greed. They only knew to want, and to take whatever it was they desired. Kindness had to be bred and nurtured, and passed on from one generation to the next.

It was hard to believe that human nature only needed an instant to revert back to its feral roots...

Or was it really? Knowing that the haven contained a mix of people, kind and violent alike, was it really any surprise that violence would have broken out eventually? The wine bar, it seemed, was a magnet for such acts. It's drunken patrons, and laissez-faire attitude was the perfect breeding ground for such things. People hardly paid attention to the comings and goings of others, or what they decided to do with one another. Men and women could fuck each other in one of the darkened corners, or the bathroom, and no one would be the wiser. And the rooms upstairs were perfect places for a late night tryst. It wasn't uncommon, which was why it seemed almost foolish for the Head Council to believe that people could turn a new life with a snap of their fingers. Human nature, violent human nature can only be contained for so long before it would need an outlet.

The Wine Bar's barmaid, Eliza, had not been seen in the tavern the entire day. Her smiling face, and voluptuous body was normally there, from sunrise to sunset. The Wine Bar was Eliza's place of work, and she could always be found there. But she was missing on this day, leaving the other bartender alone to deal with the patrons. It was unusual to not see Eliza, and many of the customers asked of her whereabouts. It wasn't until late that night that she would be found in the very Wine Bar that she loved so dearly.

The upstairs billiards' room was a favorite amongst the patrons, but today it had been locked. No one had asked to open it to play a round or two, for if they had they would have found Eliza lying naked on the pool table. Her blood stained the green felt of the table as it dripped from the puncture wounds in her neck. Her body, normally warm to the touch, was cold, touched by Death's icy hand. Her skin, normally pink in hue, was pale blue from the loss of blood from her body. Her dark hair, normally soft and smooth, was matted, clinging together by the sticky substance that had once given her life. There were no other marks on her body, other than the slight bruises around her delicate neck, and the obvious signs that she had copulated with someone moments before her death.

Eliza was dead, and no one found her body until they unlocked that door to find her.

The Wine bar was at first fairly busy and Sheldon was able to take care of the patrons by his lonesome. But as the late night approached, he was finding it hard not to receive irritating snaps of the fingers and repeated calls for refills of favorite vices. Where was Eliza? He was growing exhausted and at the least he could use a five minute break. Sheldon was starting to realize he hadn’t seen the gypsy all day. He asked many people if they knew where she might be, only to learn they were wondering the same thing.

At first Eliza’s absence made him worry since she would tell Sheldon if she was going to be absent. The psychic just concluded that he either didn’t hear her or she forgot to tell him. Plus he didn’t want to seem like he wanted to know where she was at all times. But at the same time the two were close since they worked together almost every night. Sheldon told her everything-theories, rumors, personal issues. So he doubted she wouldn’t return the favor.

Sheldon eventually got to the point where he could barely concentrate he was so concerned about Eliza’s whereabouts. He was certain she could take care of herself, but this was quite unlike her. It was uncommon for her not to be at the bar, even for just one night.

When his eyes diverted towards the stairs leading to the upper floor, he mentally cursed at himself for not checking there hours earlier when the bar was way less chaotic. He didn’t give a shit about the customers being annoyed by him ignoring them to step out from the bar and to the stairs. He didn’t know why but there was an eerie feeling. A chill even crept down his spine back before he began to make ways up the stairs.

When he got to the door of billiards room he turned the handle slowly only to find out it was locked. The psychic titled his head in uncomfortable curiosity. The billiards room was a common place of entertainment. Even when drunk, many played pool. The skilled taught the unskilled. It was a fun way to get to know strangers and often times in the dim lit corners people chatted or often made the corner a perfect place for personal affairs.

He dug into his back pocket to get the keys and opened the door carefully. The only light given was by the moon. It only took him a few steps to discover why Eliza had not been around all day. "Jesus Christ.." He turned away slightly and rubbed his forehead, a small sound escaping his throat. The closer he walked towards the now deceased gypsy, the more it became harder to hide the tears building up in his eyes.

When he came face to face with her naked body, he knelt over to feel the icy chill of her body and he finally couldn’t contain how upset he actually was. It was one of those moments when he realized he had just spoken to her a day ago and he could recall the sound of her voice, the way she moved and the way she looked now was so distorted due to death. Not natural death-someone had killed her.

When he brushed her blood soaked hair aside, he noticed the puncture wounds on the gypsy’s delicate neck. Fucken blood suckers. No other person in Sheldon’s mind could do such a thing other than a vile vampire. The psychic hated giving into discrimination but he was beginning to give into distaste towards anything that lusted for blood.
He took a few moments to depart from her, not caring that blood stained his shirt. In fact to respect her body, he took off his button down shirt and covered her body. He slid down the wall near her body and buried his head in his hands, trying to calm what he felt. He was saddened most of all. But there was dangerous anger causing him to lean towards irrational thoughts.

After a long moment, Sheldon made a promise to Eliza that he would head to the council and deal with her death the appropriate way and seek justice instead of letting his anger win over. He locked the door to the billiards room and headed down the stairs.

Walking down the stairs with a numb look on his face and blood on his undershirt, he ignored the stares he received and headed to the council.
