Who: Duncan, Kazuki, Adrienne
When: Later in the day, before closing
Where: Tailors!
What: Duncan needs a new pair o' shoes! Among other things.

Duncan had brought some things to trade in at the tailors, since money was not an option. He was rarely comfortable taking anything without offering at least something in return, even if the value was not comparable. However, he had found he had very little in his home that might be useful to a tailor except for a long blade sharpening belt. He'd kept it for his own knives, but he was confident he could figure something else out in between today and the next time he needed to sharpen his kitchen knives. He'd packed his offering in a cloth bag and held it loosely in his left hand as he strolled to the tailors.

He hoped there were some earthy colors available. Although he had been told endless times that he looked good in black -- one woman had even gone so far as to say 'yummy' -- he didn't think black was appropriate attire for a dinner party. Especially if there were going to be vampires there. Sometimes vampires were touchy. He didn't know if Nathaniel was touchy, but he didn't know who Nathaniel was inviting, either. Duncan liked himself best in tones of green and brown; because it did not wash out his face or make his hair appeal dull. Also, not that Duncan ever noticed it, earthy colors made his hazel eyes do interesting things. Depending upon the vibrancy of the green or brown, his eyes would shift to match. It was intriguing.

He entered the shop slowly, not wanting to bust the door down should the hinges be loose. It wasn't that Duncan assumed the shop was dilapidated, it was just that one time, he hadn't been careful, and had swung someone's door open so hard he'd made a whole in the wall on the opposite side with the doorknob. He wasn't immune to accidents.

"Hello!" he said, cheerfully, but he was already looking around.

Kazuki was..sleeping. His face was heavily planted in the desk and he was snoring lightly. If vampires considered daytime their regular schedule of sleep and nighttime their awake hours-then he had insomnia. He hadn’t been feeling well lately and he didn’t know what not feeling well for a vampire meant. What the hell? Was it the new guy? Maybe. Ever since Warner, or whatever came to his wonderful workplace, ideas and work situations were always accessorized with commentary and sarcasm. He was beginning to hate British people. He had two bad encounters, boo.

When the vampire heard someone come in, he jumped lightly and then rubbed his face. “Hnn…Can I help you?” He said in a low drone. He ruffled his hair and he was sure his expression was unfriendly when he looked at the guest. His vision was a little blurry so he rubbed his eyes a few times to try and get a better glimpse.

Duncan seemed taken aback, but only because the person he had sworn was a woman in the first moment of interaction proved to be a man in the second. His surprise didn't really last however; it took little to really surprise Duncan anymore. Now, if the vampire had offered him some ravioli, he might have had a heart attack, but, a man with kissable lips was almost passe at this point.

"Hello," he said, making sure he shut the door softly. "Sorry." He felt he had to apologize; the man had been sleeping when he walked in, after all! "I just came in for some dress shirts and slacks. Er, pants." While Duncan had inputted a variety of old and new terms in his mental database, he couldn't seem to keep his vocabulary in one era. It was not uncommon for him to come out with old expressions followed by extremely new ones, and then old ones so old they sounded new.

Duncan had never seen a ruffled vampire, whether they were physically ruffled or emotionally caught unawares. In fact, he'd never seen one start, either. He smirked a little. "If you like you can just sort of.. point in the right direction and go back to sleep." He meant it. If the poor man was tired, Duncan didn't want to bother him.

With Nathaniel's dinner party just around corner, Adrienne found herself in desperate need of something new to wear. It was also a good excuse for the werewolf to go and visit her favorite tailor. She had just picked up a cup of coffee from the café, and with it in hand she made her way toward the tailoring shop.

"Kazuki!" Her voice was lilting and happy as she practically burst through the entrance, pushing the door aside with a bit of flare. She was in a good mood, and anyone could tell just by looking at her. She hadn't noticed the other visitor in the store until she had taken a few steps inside. "I need your hel-" she cut off her sentence when she spotted Duncan, smiling a bit sheepishly because of her boisterous display. "Oops, sorry," she quieted down considerably, smoothing her hair back with her free hand. Adrienne followed Duncan's eyes to find Kazuki looking terribly tired, and ruffled.

She frowned slightly, and moved over toward Kazuki with her coffee held out toward him. "I think you need this more than me, sweetie," she said with a grin. She turned to the visitor in the store, "I hope I wasn't interrupting anything," she said, pushing her sunglasses on top of her head and revealing her different colored eyes.

Kazuki waved his hands. One at Duncan and one at Adrienne. “No no! I’m okay. You see there is this new guy. And I don’t like him at ALL!” He growled then disregarded the matter and got to his feet to hug Adrienne” Long time no see, missy.” Then (beause it was nature) he pretty much hugged his acquaintance. “Alrighty, dudes. Sorry for the complete weeirdd behavior on my part. I think I have the anoya virus.” He turned towards Duncan. “My name is Kazuki by the way and I can totally help you out with what you need! I am awesome in helping you out with shirts and pants of any kind.” He gave a confident look while his folding his arms. “Any look you are going for? Like just need some new basic stuff, or going to some special event.”

He then turned towards Adrienne. “And you missy are a goddess if you give me some java. I will pay you back for whatever you want.” He looked her over as he sat on the desk he was once sleeping on. “You need anything? I’m sure you are one for the clothes, so I am sure I can help you with something.” He didn’t realize his next candid remark since he was still in the process of waking up. “You should flatter your boobs and stuff more, you know.” The vampire figured he could work with them at the same time, the three of them seemed like they could get along.

“That being said, I am sure I can help both of you lovelies at the same time!”

Duncan hugged the man back. Hey, why not? He was a hugger when the situation called for it. He was going to answer the tailor when Kazuki turned to Adrienne and addressed her needs. He was ebullient for a sleepy vampire. Duncan found himself grinning at the rythhmatic way he spoke. Cheery, but quick. He let him speak to both of his customers, not willing to interrupt. He knew retail could be difficult at times, especially when juggling customers. On his long list of once-held professions, retail was there. He had liked it because it meant dealing with people, but eventually left because it also meant dealing with a lot of unhappy people.

When Kazuki suggested Adrienne flatter her boobs more he laughed outright, but wouldn't look at the boobs in question. He did, however, grin over to the pretty brunette. "Hey, free fashion advice, can't beat that." He turned the same grin to Kazuki. "Actually, I just need a dress shirt and pants. I've been invited to a dinner party -- a formal wear -- dinner party in two days and my only good shirt has ben thoroughly enjoyed by moths. I uh, like earthy colors, and I'll need a tie. I don't.. have any ties."

"A new guy working here," she asked curiously in the midst of her hug. "Well, where is he? If he's bothering you, I'll be sure to set him straight!" She gave him a playful wink, a mischievous smirk curling upon her lips. She looked around the shop trying to catch a glimpse of this other new person that Kazuki was talking about. Finding that they were the only ones in the shop, Adrienne handed the coffee to Kazuki knowing that he needed it more than she did, and crossed her arms over her chest. It wasn't a defiant sort of stance in any way; it was more relaxed, and comfortable. Just a place to rest her arms.

She couldn't help but grin at the comment about her breasts, and she decided to play along with it. Adrienne wasn't the type to take offense to those sorts of statements, especially when they came from a friend. Even with the stranger in the shop Adrienne took a hold of her boobs, and looked down at them. "You think so," she said as she pushed them up a little bit. She was giggling, a sign of her jest, and then arched a brow at Duncan. "What do you think of this free fashion advice," she asked him before her hands fell from her chest. Adrienne wasn't the shy type, at least not anymore. When she had first been turned into a werewolf, her naturally outgoing nature had been suppressed as she struggled to deal with her new life. But now, several months later, she was herself again. An outgoing, tomboy-ish type of girl who was extremely comfortable around guys.

She began to readjust her ponytail as Duncan started talking about a formal dinner party he had been invited to. Could it possibly have been the same one that she and Zach were attending? "Hey, me too!" She decided to chime in after Duncan had finished speaking. "Not about the ties, I mean. But the dinner party." Her eyes turned over to Kazuki. "I need a dress," she said with a grin. "One that'll flatter my boobs, of course." She winked at Kazuki again as her hands roamed over a bolt of cloth that lay upon the table she was standing next to.

Kazuki liked Adrienne a lot and if he swayed towards girls Zach would have to watch his back (of course, he wasn't that kind of guy). He would use his fashion sense to try and steal her away. So he would just have to say that if he could be with one chick, Adrienne was it because of her awesome tomboy nature. Of course, she wouldn’t know and he smirked at the fact. He quickly covered it up. Duncan was cute so he was equally as lucky. The vampire was harmless though. Like a sweet little kid working at a shop.

“Dude, your boobs are big. Like giant melons. Of course they need to be flattered missy.” He pondered to himself. “Man, if I had boobs, I’d be busy all day.” He snorted then got to Duncan first. “I’ll get to you next missy!” He pointed to her with a teasing smirk. “You hold on to those boobies.”

So, Duncan wanted earthy tones. It depended how 'earthy' he wanted to get. Kazuki signaled the man to follow him around the corner towards the vests, dress shirts and ties. There was a set of a very flattering tan blazer a slight earthly tanned dress shirt and brown tie. Not tacky in the slightest. This was designer looking stuff. Kazuki looked over at him. “You could try this with light or dark tan pants..or black pants. Up to you. “ He offered a friendly smile. “Of course the wise choice is to go with the pants that match the blazer.” He leaned close to Duncan. “Or be daring and mix it up.”

The vampire patted Duncan on the back and went towards Adrienne. “Now you missy, need to be wearing something low cut. Those boobies can’t go to waste!” He gave her a serious look. “Not to mention you have a good neckline. Some people have pretty nasty necklines, you have a great one!” He went towards the back of the room and motioned for Adrienne to follow him.

He tore through various dresses; many of them were black and red. He made a face at a yellow one he saw and threw it at the other end of the room. When Kazuki found a navy dress he suddenly stopped. “This one!” He tossed it towards her. “Dude, perfectly separate those perfect moon balloons of yours, make that perfect stomach of yours look even better.” He raised a brow. “And you know..after the party..it will be easy for Zach to..” he waggled his brows. “You know..”

He motioned to a set of drawers. “Got matching undies and stuff if you want.” h chuckled, leaving them to decide but made himself available by sitting on the desk as usual.

This was the SECOND time within a week's span that an attractive young woman was grabbing their breasts in front of Duncan and talking about their own highly admirable cleavage. The second time. It was as if the universe was conspiring against him and his recent celibacy. Since the Great Evacuation, Duncan had been...inactive. He wasn't generally the Charlie Sheen of the djinn world, but he was known to have a few no-strings-attached, playful flings on a regular basis. Generally with women he knew well, but not too well, and liked, but didn't like too much. Months before entering entering Elysium, however, his schedule had been filled with more important things than casual sex.

Despite what one might assume, he didn't miss it. Well, sure, he kinda missed the big IT, but he wasn't pining daily over his lack of booty. It wasn't his style. He was content with the pleasure he'd found in women before hand, and even more so, content that no one had ever had a broken heart because of him (at least, not to his knowledge). Helicharis, however, was not your usual city. Everyone here had a story, and most likely a dark, sad one, and Duncan just didn't feel it appropriate to carry out his usual pattern here. At least...not yet. Maybe when all the pretty women had calmed down and were ready to be not-so-serious again.

"Weaahh..." he managed, rather eloquently, as Adrienne fondled herself before him and asked him a question he didn't quite comprehend. This was probably because he thought she was gorgeous, and that stemmed entirely from her unique eyes. He did, however, understand that she also had a dinner party to attend to. How kooky. He was about to ask her if it was being hosted by a gentleman named Nathaniel. Duncan figured the chances were good, it wasn't too large of a community for such a coincidence to be impossible. Before he could open his mouth again and try for English once more, his attention was diverted by Kazuki.

When he saw what Kazuki had suggested, he smiled and nodded, but was thinking A little too.. Miami Vice. The pop culture reference made him think of Heather, the girl he'd met a few days ago, and with a smile he started to navigate toward the darker colors he was more comfortable with. He finally settled on a nice brown dress shirt that would go well with the only brown-matching tie he liked. Duncan was a picky dresser when it came to 'fancy' stuff. His pants were "camel" colored, but Duncan still thought they were brown. At first he looked for the grays and browns, but then forced himself to try something different. Which ended him up with an olive colored blazer. He did, however, find the tie Kazuki had pointed out rather nice.

He slowly approached the two, the clothes he'd chosen neatly folded over his arm. He wasn't going to try them on. He didn't need to. His size and measurements hadn't changed in almost seventy years. He smiled patiently so Kazuki could talk more about Adrienne's lingerie preferences.

Adrienne blushed at Kazuki's comment about her breasts. She looked down at them, thinking that they were proportionate to the rest of her body. That meant they weren't too big, but they weren't super small either. They were just right. But the tailor thought otherwise, and the response from the other man (or lack thereof) caused the blush on Adrienne's cheeks to darken as she released her breasts.

She watched Kazuki take the other man towards the men's section, following them curiously as the tailor picked out a beige jacket. Adrienne arched a brow, shaking her head slowly. "I don't like it," she said candidly. "Not saying that you don't have great taste, Kaz, 'cause you do. But that color..." she paused, craning her head to the left, then right, as she looked at Duncan. "It doesn't seem like something he'd wear." Not that Adrienne knew Duncan or anything, but she got the feeling that he was the type of guy to wear darker colors.

She left her statement at that when Kazuki turned his attention toward her. The werewolf found it amusing when the tailor began to go through all of the dresses on the rack in the store. It was much easier to get him to do it than to do it herself since she would have taken much longer to choose a dress. But the number that Kazuki picked out for her was perfect, and she smiled broadly to show her approval of the dress.

"I love it," she said enthusiastically. Adrienne laughed at all of the extra stuff Kazuki said about the dress and how it would flatter her, and then swatted at him playfully
when he added the part about Zach. She looked over at Duncan, shaking her head at the teasing she was receiving from the tailor. "Can you believe this guy," she asked rhetorically before she pulled Kazuki in for a hug. "Now I'm going to go try it on, so you guys wait right here, okay?" Adrienne had turned toward the dressing rooms before she stopped herself mid-step.

"I'm so rude. I don't even know your name, and I'm making all of these demands on you." She held out her hand in greeting toward the djinn. "I'm Adrienne Conté, it's nice to meet you. And this is Kazuki," she said introducing her friend to the man.

Her smile reached her eyes, and after they had all greeted one another, she grabbed her dress again and darted off toward the dressing room, leaving the two men alone for a moment or two.

Kazuki turned towards Duncan as Adrienne tried on the dress. “So Duncan. You will have to forgive me; I am the very curious kind. If you encounter me you will have to endure my three thousand questions.” He smirked. “Of course I am kidding.” The vampire always wondered how long his company that came in had been in Elysium. Sometimes the people he had met had been in the sanctuary longer that he was. “How long have you been here?” He asked with a widely curious expression. “For how long?”

He ruffled his crazy hair and made himself comfortable whispering. “And she is very cute, no?” He chuckled. “Hot even, if that is you..hmm ‘fancy?” He then realized they were going to a party and piped up. “Hey, what kind of party are you going to!?”

Duncan was more than happy to make pleasant conversation with Kazuki, though he wasn't sure why he felt compelled to wait for Adrienne to try on the dress. After all, he didn't know her whatsoever. Perhaps it was her tone, which was commanding, but not forceful. More like.. promissory. He couldn't explain it. He knew it was cute though. He also knew that this mentioned "Zach" fellow probably found her just as cute, and Duncan wondered if Zach would mind knowing that his girlfriend had asked him to stick around and give his opinion on a dress.

He whirled his head around to Kazuki when the vampire asked him how long he'd been in Elysium. "Oh, I, ah, I was actually part of a group effort to help people in, so, from the early beginning," he responded, trying to sound very passe and not at all self-important about it. "I've always been close to humans and the like, so talk of havens came right to me, and I offered my help. I've just been in hiding. I have a tendency to regress back to a hermit-like state unless otherwise pushed."

When Kazuki leaned in to conspiratorially discuss Adrienne's level of attractiveness, he smirked knowingly. "She's not bad looking at all," he said, but he left it at that. He didn't know if he was being set up, or worse, if Kazuki was going to screech 'HE WANTS TO DO YOU' the second Adrienne reappeared. Duncan thought the former might be less likely to happen than the latter, but he wasn't taking any chances. He wasn't really a suspicious djinn, but a careful one.

"It's actually a dinner party being thrown by a Nathaniel.. Nathaniel Wyatt, if I remember correctly. I'm wondering if it's the same party she's going to," he added, nodding at the dressing room doorway.

Adrienne took only a few minutes to change out of the clothes she was wearing, and into the dress that Kazuki had picked out for her. She smoothed out all of the creases and folds, and emerged from the dressing room without hearing a single word that passed between the two men. Granted, Adrienne had heightened hearing just from being a werewolf, but she wasn’t paying attention to their conversation and so the words just flew right by her.

“What do you guys think?” She asked with her hands behind her back. Rocking on the soles of her feet, she looked from Kazuki to Duncan, holding her gaze with them for several seconds before she turned around on the spot. The chiffon layers of the dress flowed around her legs, stopping only when Adrienne did. “Good enough for a dinner party,” she queried as she moved to the drawers with all of the panties. She began ruffling through the undergarments, looking for the pair that matched with the navy blue dress.

She stopped halfway through her search though when she realized she didn’t have any shoes to wear with a blue dress. Adrienne sighed and approached Kazuki and Duncan with her hands on her hips. “What about shoes? I was thinking something strappy, but I don’t know.” She looked over at Kazuki, a confused look on her face, and then over at Duncan, repeating the same expression. It didn’t change until her eyes glanced out the window at the front of the shop. The angle of the sun told her the time, and she realized that she was going to be late for her outing with Zach.

“Oh my god! I’m going to be late!” Adrienne made a mad dash for the dressing room, and began to undress once she was inside. “I have to meet Zach in like… 15 minutes!” She exclaimed from behind the door, clothes flying this way and that as she rushed to get her clothes back on. She dashed back out of the dressing room, and handed the dress to Kazuki.

"Gotta run, hon," she said with a hug. She turned to Duncan next, "It was nice meeting you, too." She gave him a hug, just because that was the type of girl she was, and headed straight for the door. "And thanks for the dress help! Kaz, I'll come pick up the dress tomorrow morning! Thanks!" And with that Adrienne left the store in a flash. She had to go and meet Zach for their ride out to Steeple Rock, and she didn't want to be late.

Kazuki lifted a brow and turned towards Duncan. “Dude..I don’t turn the tides towards the ways of the women. But if I were Zach and I got to go home to that” he pointed towards where Adrienne had left. “I’d be the luckiest man alive.” He snickered at Duncan. “Don’t you dudes say stuff like that’s the hottest piece of ass I’ve ever seen?” He saluted towards Duncan. “ten-friggin four.” He sighed and started looking for shoes to match Adrienne’s dress.

He patted Duncan on the shoulder with an assuring smile. “But no worries man. You’re a great looking guy. I’m sure at the party there will be someone. You won’t believe all the people I have seen come to this shop! I hear Nathaniel is quite the looker. So that means he picks up the cute ones am I right?” He elbowed his new friend playfully before he began to continue his work. “Don’t be late to the party. You’ll look good and looking good but being late is a horrible thing!”

Duncan laughed when Kazuki suggested the sort of stuff 'dudes' said. True, some dudes did say that. Hell, even he had, a while ago. He'd grown out of it by now. It had taken a century or so. He had his moment, sure, but it was generally only with men he knew well.

"Why thank you," he said, when Kazuki said he was good looking. He loved the man's energy; it was uplifting. He wasn't entirely comfortable discussing Nathaniel's good looks with another man. Only because it might come back to Nathaniel, and well, awk-waaard.

"Being late is horrible indeed. On that note, I still have dinner to make, so I'm going to take my leave. But here.." and he offered the back he had come in with. "This is a rather good blade sharpener. I figure you can use it for scissors. A trade, perhaps?" But, as he was gathering up the outfit he'd purchased and already on his way out the door, he was clearly not really asking if this trade was alright. It was a bit pigheaded on his part, but also gentleman-like. He was being fair.

"Thank you!" he said, before escaping.
