Who: Mitsuko, Frar and Fror (and later the Council)
Where: Helicharis Marketplace
When: Afternoon
What: Mitsuko's gonna get answers this time

Mitsuko was out in the marketplace, looking scrupulously over some freshly caught seafood from Van'taurë Lake. She was in the mood to make sashimi. While Mitsuko was not good at a lot of cooking, she was quite skilled when it came to serving up raw dishes. It was not really lack of talent, but the scent of cooking animal flesh that made her unable to properly develop kitchen skills.

Mitsuko pursed her lips, looking over the various catches. "Do you have any Tobiko?" At the confused look from the fisherman she grimaced in embarrassment. "Err.... Flying fish roe?"

"Oi." Mitsuko felt someone tugging at her sleeve. "You, Misses."

Mitsuko looked down. "Ehhhh?"

"Leave the fish." It was a dwarf. It took Mitsuko to realize it was the one she had kissed to get information on Frar and Fror. "You wanna know this."

Mitsuko frowned slightly and cocked her head. "What's going on?"

"Know you hadn't found Frar and Fror yet. They've been hidin' in t'caves. But they came out today. They're ov'r there."

Mitsuko felt her heart speed up slightly. "Thanks." She smiled mischievously. "I owe you one."

"If tha' what's y'think..." The dwarf started, but Mitsuko was already on her way towards the two dwarves in the marketplace. Mitsuko smoothed down her short skirt, going into business mode.

"Do I have the pleasure of finally meeting Frar and Fror?" Mitsuko called out.

Fror looked up from his barrel of weed, pausing in his steps to see who had called out him and his brother's names. He eyed her suspiciously, always the more relaxed but also more easily annoyed of the two dwarven brothers. "Whaddya want?" Fror asked slowly, lifting a bushy eyebrow in response. "We clearin' out t'supplies from t'market place, and we gots a lot of supplies t'move." Fror trotted towards the wagon, dropping the barrel on the back and climbing into the wagon to push it properly into place. Fror began to tie up all of the barrels together with a long, thick rope to secure them in the back of the wagon.

The festival was over, and they were still cleaning up all of the leftovers from it. Barrels of smoking weed and their specially brewed Dwarven ale rested in the back of the wagon. They were exporting them out of the city and back into the Dwarven caves. The ale was a big hit, lasted them a long time, and they still had plenty left to spare for later parties! As Fror worked on the wagon, he ordered his little brother to help the young woman. "Go on, Frar," Fror urged. "Talk t'the missus." He chuckled afterward, clearly amused about sending his hyperactive little brother on her.

If Mitsuko weren't trying to charm these two, she would have rolled her eyes. This didn't seem like it would be as easy as she had through it would be. She bent over. Not only did it get her on level with the dwarves, but it gave them ample few of her breasts. While Mitsuko was not exactly blessed with curves naturally, her choice of outfit (as well as some illusionary magic) gave the impression of an ample bosom, which the dwarves now had a good view of. Mitsuko licked her lips. "Well, it's just everyone has been saying such great things about you two lately. About that ale you've been brewing...." Mitsuko smiled charmingly. "I wanted to talk to you about it."

Tail swishing, Mitsuko turned her attention towards Frar. She reached over, running a slender finger over his beard. "I'd be really grateful if you'd talk to me about it. I mean, you two are legends in Elysium." She gazed at him through her thick lashes. "I hear your ale works like magic. You two must be so very talented when it comes to brewing." She tilted her head coyly. "Come on... Please?" Her lower lip jutted out cutely.

It had been a long time since she had put on the charm like this in order to extract information she wanted. There was something thrilling about doing it once again. She had always been so good at it and there was something so satisfying at bending men to her will. But there was also the thrill of the idea she might finally be able to vindicate herself in the eyes of the Council.

Frar liked his women short, stout, and well... husky. All of which Mitsuko was not. That wasn't to say that she wasn't a looker! If Frar was a few years younger, he might've had a inkling to let out a whistle at the young lass, but as it were he was just getting too old for that stuff. Plus, he had found that life's real pleasure lay in pints of ale and weed. An ample bosom was only good if he could pass out on them.

It was a good decision on the kitsune's part that she complimented their ale. Frar immediately took notice, a bushy brow arching upward in interest. "Ye like our ale, do ye'lass?" He asked with a grin. He nudged his elbow into his brother's side, and then nodded at the girl. "Aye aye, we are brewing masters." He hooked his thumbs into the pockets of his pants, and strutted around the empty barrels.

"See all o'these?" He patted them, the wooden cases echoing with emptiness. "All o'em... empty as a bottomless pit." He beamed proudly, and hooked an arm around his brother's shoulders. "Special recipe, lass. Top secret, right, Fror?" He paused to lick his lips thoughtfully. "But we might have some fer'ye to taste, if ye'be interested."

Mitsuko pouted cutely, really putting on her innocent and naive act. "Please... I really want to know how you do what you do." She leaned in close to Frar. So far, these dwarves were giving away very little. She needed to get more information out of them. More talk of how they did things... So she could get them to slip up. She tilted her head coyly. "I could... Pay you?"

She ran her hands over her breasts and wrapped her delicate fingers around her hoshi no tama. They very idea of doing this sickened her... But desperate times called for desperate measures. She unclasped the necklace and held it out by the chain. The jewel caught the light, giving it an ethereal shimmer. "Do you know what this is?" She said quietly. "It is the hoshi no tama of the Tenko Kitsune. It is one of a kind and its power is immense. The only thing more powerful than it in Elysium is Mir'en'Galad." She was overstating the power of her necklace. But the dwarves would not know this. And the mention of the elven broach might cause some reaction.

Frar hardly paid attention to Mitsuko's breasts, fine as they were. He didn't care for boobies if they weren't on a Dwarven maiden, but he had to admit that this kitsune female's bosom looked soft and milky. He almost wanted to touch them if she hadn't drawn attention to her hoshi no tama around her neck. The dwarf's eyes widened as she held the jewel by the chain, following it even as it dangled from left to right.

"That is lovely," he said as if he were hypnotized by it. But when she mentioned the Mir'en'Galad, all thoughts about the shimmering jewel flew out of his mind. "Aye... the Mir'en'Galad is powerful, it's why we took it, we did." He nodded as if it were completely okay for him to talk about the Elven brooch that had been stolen. It hadn't even occurred to him that this kitsune was digging for information, and that he had just revealed himself and his brother as the elusive thieves.

"FRAAAAR!" the older dwarven brother suddenly hollered, whirling around on the back of the wagon. He was standing right on the edge, and Fror picked up a spare lid from one of the empty barrels and thwapped Frar over the head with it. "Why, ye bleedin' idiot! Why'd ye give away 'hat we did it!" While Fror didn't know the kitsune was digging for information either, he was at least smart enough (or so he liked to think) not to slip up valuable information like that without having a really good reason to. After all, there was a big fuss over the Mir'en'Galad when it went missing. Surely, if she spoke to the wrong people they'd be in deep trouble.

Fror kept hitting his younger brother over the barrel lid, refusing to stop any time soon. Each yelp and holler from his brother only hastened the thwacking. "Bright lad, you are!" Fror yelled, hitting his brother once more. "Ye gon's t'get us in trouble with the council! Can't ye ever think with a bosom in yer face?!" His final sentence was followed with a resounding whack of the barrel lid against Frar's helmet.

Got them! Mitsuko thought triumphantly. She knew she would be able to get them to fess up. She thought it might take a bit more coaxing, but who was she to complain about getting the results she wanted so quickly? She already had to waste a day out at the damn dwarf caves, just trying to find them.

Just as she was about to spring to action, the elder brother began to berate and beat his younger sibling for his slip up. Mitsuko enjoyed the display with a smirk on her face for a moment. There was something very satisfying about this whole situation.

Mitsuko grabbed the two dwarves. "Hey! Break it up, guys! You have a lot of things to worry about without beating the crap out of each other."

She smirked nastily as she released one of the dwarves for but a moment. Just long enough to reach into her pocket and pull out the amulet she had received from Theora. "I've been investigating the disappearance of Mir'en'Galad." She slipped the amulet back into her pocket and grabbed the free dwarf once again. She had both of them by the beard. She gave the facial hair clutched in her fingers a sharp, vengeful tug. "Ever since I was arrested until the suspicions I had taken it! Now you two are gonna come with me and tell the Council exactly what you did." Her lip curled in a snarl. "Or else I'm going to get really testy and believe me... You don't want angry fox after you. Now come on!" She pulled the pair of them along, striding towards Town Hall.

Frar realized his mistake a moment too late. Fror was already hitting him over the head with the lid from an empty barrel while the foxy lady just smirked at them triumphantly. "Ooooowwwwww! Stop it, Fror!" He cried out loud, his hands moving to shield his head from the violent attack. He had no idea why Mitsuko was smiling - unless she liked to see dwarves getting abused - until she pulled out Theora's amulet. Frar quieted down, blinking at the amulet.

"That be the High Priestess's amulet," he said with a gulp. Her words caused him to shrink back a little, hiding slightly behind his older brother until she tugged on his beard. "OOoooowwww!" He cried out again, wishing she wasn't so rough with his beard. "C'mon, lass," he began to say, pleading with her as she dragged them toward Town Hall. "We were goin'ta give it back! Weren't we, Fror?! Ye don't have turn us in! Just let us go, lass!" His cries were probably falling on deaf ears, but he had to try to reason with her if only to save their own hides.

Fror wasn't happy about being tugged away from beating on his brother, but the lass pulled out the High Priestess's amulet and even Fror stopped suddenly to stare open-mouthed and wide-eyed at it. She tugged on their beards next and wasn't kind enough to be gentle with them. "Yoowww!" Fror yelled, only silenced by hearing the lass talk about how she had been pinned for the theft of the Mir'en'Galad. He nodded quickly in agreement with his brother. "Aye, aye, lass! We were goin'ta give it back! We didn't steal it! We were borrowin' it for our ale! Nothin' more!"

It was unlikely she was going to listen to them, but Fror didn't know that and so he was going to argue just like his brother. The lass pulled them along the road, and Fror wasn't sure where they were going, but he didn't like it one bit. "C'mon, lass, cut us a break. We didn't know they were goin'ta blame anyone fer it! It wasn't our fault! We'll get'em back nice and pretty fer ya, how's that sound?" Fror wasn't above trying to bargain with her. Maybe she was the bargaining type?

Mitsuko turned back only slightly to look at the two dwarves she was dragging along. Nothing they said was going to get her to waver in her attempt to bring them before the council. She growled softly and gave Fror a harder tug on his beard. "Get them back for me? Baka-ja nai! They didn't actually do anything wrong. They were just doing their job. It's your fault I got into trouble!"

She continued to drag Frar and Fror until they got to Town Hall. She didn't let go of their beards even when she got inside, sure they would bolt if she were to let go of her grip on them. "Hello?" She called out. "Theora-sama? Is anyone here? I have something you guys are going to like!" Her heart had sped up, knowing that she was finally, truly going to be exonerated.

Theora had just settled into her office when she heard a familiar voice calling out to her. The priestess had not expected any visitors on this day, but that did not mean she was opposed to them. She rose from her seat, and as her hands smoothed down the front of her light pink robe she answered the call. "Mitsuko, is everything all right?" Theora opened the door, recognising the kitsune's energy before she laid eyes on the girl. The priestess peered beyond the frame of her door, her eyes blinking in surprise at the two dwarves that Mitsuko had in tow.

"What in the world..." her voice was filled with pleasant, even amused, surprise. She blinked at the dwarves, eyes narrowing as she realised that the two dwarven men were very familiar. She had seen them on her visits to the Dwarven kingdom - they were guardians of the gate at times. Others, they were busy brewing beer. She knew of their reputation of being extremely mischievous, but that was the extent of her knowledge.

"Is everything all right, Mitsuko?" The Elven priestess could sense the girl's excitement, and the dwarves' anxiety, and slight fear. She wondered what exactly was going on, though by the look on Mitsuko's face Theora imagined that it was something good.

Theora wasn't the only one who heard the racket. Constance was walking down a nearby corridor when she heard a familiar voice. It was Mitsuko Kamiyama, hollering at the top of her lungs for Theora. Constance knew Theora was around here somewhere most likely, but she headed towards the sound of the kitsune's voice since it was definitely an urgent matter if the girl was looking for someone in charge.

The elder woman rounded the corner when she saw Mitsuko dragging two dwarves by the beards. The grandmother echoed nearly the exact same sentiments as the priestess only moments before her. "What the hell," Constance said below her breath, a mixture of surprise and confusion covering her face. She hurried forward without running, a quick walk taking over each of her steps. "Ms. Kamiyama, what is going on here?" she asked, wondering why she was dragging in two vexed dwarves by the beards. It certainly looked like it needed to hurt, and Constance hoped they did something to warrant it. By the look on Mitsuko's face, she had a feeling they did do something to warrant it.

Mitsuko smiled broadly when she heard the beautiful Elven priestess' voice and saw he coming down the corridor. A huge wave of relief washed over her. This was it. She would finally be proven officially innocent. More than that, she had solved a huge mystery plaguing the community. She knew the Elves had been worried about the fate of their mystical whatsits for weeks now. Darkly, Mitsuko thought the ones that had mistreated her should crawl on their hands and knees to thank her for what she did. But she tried to focus her attention on the benevolent Theora. This would make Theora happy and that was enough.

Mitsuko saw Constance come and bowed her head slightly to her. She had not met Constance in person, but she knew her by reputation. "Theora-sama, Alexie-sama." She bowed deeper. "I have a gift for the Council. As I told you I would, Theora-sama, I've been investigating the disappearance of your Elven artifact to clear my name. These two dwarves are Frar and Fror." she gave their beards a slight tug. "They were the true thieves who stole Mir'en'Galad. They admitted it to me in the marketplace. They used it to brew their powerful ale."

She glared down at the two dwarves. "They attempted to bribe me in order to keep me from bringing them in. Too bad for them, the only thing I want is the real culprits brought to justice. I don't know where Mir'en'Galad is, but I suspect it's probably amongst their possessions."

With the dwarves now in custody, Mitsuko did not feel the need to hold them captive. She let go of their beards and bowed. "I leave them to the tender mercy of the justice system." She held out Theora's amulet to her. "Thank you for allowing me the chance find the real criminals." She bowed once again. "I'll go now, if you don't need me for anything else."

Constance slowly folded her arms over her chest. Her expression showed the slight surprise at the announcement from Mitsuko, but also there was a noticeable measure of respect in her gaze. She placed her eyes on Mitsuko as the corner of her mouth quirked upward. "Well, Ms. Kamiyama," Constance began, raising her eyebrows, "I have to say I'm very impressed." Sincerity laced each of her words, and it wasn't often that she complimented anyone for anything. It had to be a really great moment for her to go as far as that. She knew of the plight Theora had entrusted to Mitsuko, as did Dylan, and she had been wondering if anything would come of it. Her hopes had begun to dwindle up until this moment of the thieves ever being caught.

The dwarves began to protest, not even bothering to deny it. Constance shook her head, unable to believe how they couldn't even keep their mouths shut. "Well, in that case, Ms. Kamiyama, we owe a great gratitude for helping us look for them. It's a pity they don't know how to keep their mouths shut, but that makes it all the more easier for us."

Constance shot a dark look at the dwarves as she smiled at them sweetly. "We'll also be contacting the dwarven king to help us find a suitable punishment for these two. At least the Mir'en'Galad didn't fall into dangerous hands," she commented. "Just very inept ones."

Turning her head to Theora, Constance nodded her head at the Elven priestess. She focused her attention back on the dwarves. "Do the two of you have the Mir'en'Galad on either of your persons?"

Theora smiled serenely at Mitsuko. The young kitsune had done well with the task assigned her, and the priestess was very proud. She stepped forward, placing a hand upon the younger girl's shoulder. "Thank you very much, Mitsuko. I knew that I could rely on you." Theora looked down at the amulet that Mitsuko held out to her, and carefully picked it up with her fingers. Another smile formed upon the priestess's lips. "Thank you for finding the real criminals for us. You have our sincerest gratitude." She bowed her head at Mitsuko, and then turned her attention to the dwarves.

Theora held her hands in front of her body before she bent down to the dwarves' eye level. She looked at them sternly, a rare look for the priestess to hold, and held a finger up to them. "You two have been very naughty," she said evenly. "You do realize that we will have to speak with King Henrek about this, do you not?"

The dwarves' eyes grew wide, and as Theora stood upright again both Fror and Frar groveled by her feet. They pleaded with her not to tell their beloved King, and that they would do anything to make it up to the Head Council. Theora smiled a little, though it was more of a smirk than anything. She nodded in response to Constance's statement about their inept hands, and added, "And just for the purposes of brewing ale. How very irresponsible!"

Theora would let Constance handle this part of the questioning, the younger woman having a much more stern facade than the priestess could ever manage. Fror and Frar looked up at Constance after she asked them her question, and it was Frar who shook his head first. "It be at the brewery, back in the caves," he answered. Theora looked down at them, her arms folded over her chest this time.

"Where in the brewery exactly? We will send two Elven guards to retrieve it immediately, as well as have them summon King Henrek for an audience with us." She turned to smile at her friend. "Does that sound suitable, Constance?"

With the two dwarves in custody, Mitsuko felt no need to linger with the council. She had no more evidence to offer them. There was nothing else needed. The Dwarves had confessed and the Elven artifact would soon be back in Theora's hands. Her name was cleared and that was that. Mitsuko felt a huge weight off her shoulders, the mystery finally solved.

She had to admit... It felt sort of good, finding the real criminals. Not just because it cleared her. There was something exciting about it. It was almost akin to the rush she got from stealing things. Maybe...

Mitsuko let out a small, amused chuckle. That was a ridiculous thought. Mitsuko Kamiyama: Private Investigator. A former thief could never make an honest living bringing criminals in. With a quick nod of her head to Constance and Theora, she turned and strode out the door. She knew life in Elysium was changing her, but she didn't think it had changed her quite that much... Not yet.
