Who: Everyone!
When: 6:30 PM
Where: The Beach, by The Tiki Hut
What: Zane and Amada's Wedding Reception!

OOC: Everyone is welcome to join the party! Start a new sub-thread to interact with others, or keep an eye out for open sub-threads for you to join! Or if you don't feel like interacting, type up a narrative for your character.

The sun's rays shining out from below the horizon signaled the start of the wedding reception to celebrate Zane and Amada's happy nuptials. The area around Loki's Tiki Hut was set up with festive tiki torches that illuminated the entire area all the way down to the rim of the lake. Each lamp was entwined in green vines and white flowers, and the sand here was also 'planted' with green grass to add to the tropical theme. The tables were decorated with floating candle and flower centerpieces and around each centerpiece were several glass blown wedding favors in the shape of sail boats. Each table also had small boxes of clamshell shaped chocolate for everyone to enjoy.

Soft music lingered in the air and though the night sky was filled with stars some of the fae-folk had enticed lightning bugs to come out and provide romantic lighting above the tables and dance floor. Dinner for the guests was set up buffet style with a variety of foods provided by the restaurant in town. Drinks — alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike — were provided by Loki and his Tiki Hut served as the bar. The ever enchanting Faye Capricia had agreed to the last minute request of providing live singing entertainment for the reception. The dance floor was nothing but the soft sand beneath their feet and, as much as it may have dismayed the bride, even the lake monsters joined in on the festivities as they sang their song and splashed around in the water.

All in all it was a beautiful reception with a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy, and it was the perfect way to spend the evening in the company of friends or with a special someone.

Oh, so pretty, mused Ath Dara as she looked at the candle at the middle of her table. She could just barely see herself in the round side of it's container, green eyes alight with amazement. First of all, for the small thing in front of her, she had never seen someone float a candle. It wasn't amazing or anything, but she did find it pretty neat that it could stay lit while sailing back, forth, and in slow circles. Secondly, it only added to the wonder of the thing called a wedding. Living with your parents and brother all of your life, never seeing much human activity or even other Faun's, this was a new experience.

Ath Dara was glad she had come. She had even tried to convince Brendan to join her, but he turned her down for "better things." Like he had better things to do on a Sunday--or any day. Oh well. More fun for her. So her eyes wandered around to the humans and human-looking persons (she'd been on edge all night) and then to the less-human and most mystical creatures. She liked them more, just on principal. But everyone was having so much fun it seemed, that she felt she could worry less. Really, her mind argued, how could two people so happy and in love like Zane and Amanda be bad? Lately 'Dara had been beginning to think her parents had lied to her all her life.

Quickly, while still looking away in an almost overwhelmed manner, the brunette Faun snatched up a chocolate and took a bite out of the shell-shaped treat. Heavenly. Confectionery chocolates hadn't been at her disposal before moving to this wonderful place, though she had eaten it any chance she got. Chewing, she put the other half in to her mouth before putting her hand up over her mouth while coughing. Someone had bumped lightly in to her chair, causing her to nearly choke on the sweet. Turning around, she looked up to see who had done it, not that she was angry. Things happened.

As owner and creator of The Tiki Hut, Loki was busy beyond belief tonight. He preferred working behind the bar with the rest of those helping him out, preparing drinks for the crowd instead of joining the crowd itself. However, he skimmed some of his duties and occasionally wandered out of the bar area to mix and mingle with the guests at the reception. With a colorful beverage in his hands, and an alcoholic one at that, he caught up with a few friends and chatted the time away before moving onto other areas and checking up on the seated guests. Loki liked to make sure they were comfortable and had everything they needed. Before he even returned to the bar, his nearly neon blue drink had been emptied down to only half a quarter in the clear bottle.

Despite the rocky events of the past few days, Loki was determined to have fun on this night. It was Zane and Amada's wedding, a time for festivity and celebration, and that was exactly what Loki intended to follow through with as he put the other less happier thoughts out of his mind. Things between him and Mits hadn't yet been resolved — and wouldn't be so soon — and the other things she told him burned his mind, too. Then, there was the disaster at the Planck's cottage and how that had rattled Loki, leaving him with nothing but the desire to find out who did it and give them a good beating. Of course, he wasn't going to bring those things in Zane and Amada's wonderful night, and so he didn't. Loki focused on the joyful day of their wedding.

Trying to get through a particularly blocked area, Loki accidentally knocked into the back of someone's chair. He hadn't meant to do it, but he had, and he began to apologize profusely. "I'm so sorry," he said in his thick accent, using the hand that wasn't holding the bottle to hold it up as he apologized. His hand holding the bottle was held up as well, though, and Loki quickly looked back at the woman as he gestured at the bottle. "It's not 'is fault," he assured her, shaking his head. "I'm not drunk. This is only me . . . " Loki had to think about it for a moment. "Third or fourth bottle," the muse finished.

One of these days she would remember if in public to look up and not straight behind her. People were not as short as another Faun. Turning her green eyes up and away from Loki's stomach and general vicinity, her pouty lips parted upon seeing his face. Dara, stop staring. . . mumbled her mind and she had to shake her head to cease the long gaze. From here she could see a wonderful jawline that made a warmth spread out over the bridge of her nose and cheeks. Gasping lightly she tilted her head away, eyes looking off to the left.

"Careful," she advised. "I think you're getting, at least, tipsy." Being a Faun, Ath Dara knew drunk--if only on principal--and had been quite wasted many a time in her life. Usually at least once a year during the festival when she partied it up with her family. This year she was anticipating, but worried over. Her family wouldn't try to have fun with everyone else, so it was really just her seeing what it was like with more than three Fauns. Hopefully it would be as exciting as she imagined. As is the found out a little while ago she had missed out on grape crushing because she'd been fooling around with Caden in the lake. Oh well, that was silly and more fun than watching people stomp around for you.

"Um, it's okay though." Nodding, some of her Earth brown hair fell in to her face. The longest strands in the front that she had been curled around sticks at the last minute while they'd been wet, trying in ringlets. The rest of her hair fanned out over her shoulders and back, falling in their usual waves that she had brushed as nicely as possible. Her shirt, which was another strapless pieces, was long to about mid-thigh--much like a dress. It covered part of her differences, except where it hung on her tail in the back. Ath Dara thought she had looked particularly stupid with a large bump in the back.

Completely oblivious to subtle things at this point, Loki only noticed and had the ability to respond to her words as he lifted a free finger and pointed outward at nothing in particular. He raised his eyebrows for added affect to what he said next. "Now, tipsy is a matter o' opinion," Loki countered, grinning widely afterward. "After all, I 'ave experience with bars . . . " He trailed off at this point, looking upward to the corner of his vision. "Okay, well, I might be a lil' tipsy," he conceded out loud, "but I know how to hold me liquor, so no harm, no foul! Except o' course for me bumpin' into your chair. Terribly sorry and very clumsy of me."

It had been a very busy night, and in truth, Loki wanted to take a break from any working. Pulling out one of the chairs at the table, he immediately sat down just diagonal of her. Loki held out his bottle, urging his new companion to try it. "Go on, give it a sip," he said. "It's me own special mixture. I call it Pomegranate Passion! I 'aven't named the line o' drinks yet, though. Takin' more time than I thought." This drink was red in color with an almost neon-like glow to it. Since The Tiki Hut would be opening soon by itself and serving all of his creations, he was trying to spread the word of them around a little now that he was back and ready to get the show on the road for his bar.

Loki still hadn't noticed she was a faun either, but things like that were harder to notice when she was sitting down and he was slightly on the tipsy side. The muse hadn't recalled meeting fauns before he came to Elysium. Having been a city boy most of his life, it only made sense. Loki enjoyed the company of all people just the same, though, and Ath Dara certainly had nothing to worry about from him.

Sascha and OPEN

2008-07-30 03:06 am UTC (link)
Sascha nursed his drink carefully as he gazed out over the rippling lakewater, sipping occasionally at his virgin cocktail and listening to the sounds of the festivities behind him. He'd managed to break away from the trio of pretty (if talkative) ladies that had practically descended on him immediately following the wedding ceremony, and he took a few moments to turn and survey the crowd from his position at the shoreline. It seemed like a lively celebration, that was for sure.

Not that Sascha was generally averse to talking and flirting-far be it, in fact. He'd nearly turned that combination into a hobby, or as he preferred to call it in the context of his work at the library, customer service. But the timing of this event held a particular significance for Sascha, one that carried with it a certain degree of reverence and solemnity that wasn't terribly suited to flirtation.

The past week had been one of the most emotionally trying times of Sascha's life, but somewhere along the line he'd had a breakthrough. It might have been the constant reflection and meditation during his nature walks, or perhaps the affection and support he'd received from Irei and several of his new acquaintances here in Elysium, that had brought him from a state of utter grief and despair to a point of relative inner peace. He'd always feel sadness over the loss of his family, and he'd certainly never forget them or stop loving them, but he refused to draw out his mourning any longer.

Zane and Amada's wedding was probably the best and most symbolic kind of closure he could possibly imagine, and that was the real reason he'd bothered to show up. Zane had seemed like a good guy when they'd spoken a few days prior, and Sascha smiled to himself at the thought that he was genuinely happy for the new couple. There were no more pangs of jealousy or heartache at the memories this kind of celebration evoked in him- memories of his own wedding nearly a decade earlier- and frankly, he couldn't be more pleased.

"Cheers," he murmured softly, raising his glass in a solitary salute to the pair of newlyweds and then downing the rest of the drink. He made a face as some of the liquid managed to dribble down his chin and onto the collar of his shirt, and he brushed vainly at the light colored stain. Oh well. It wasn't as though he was exactly dressed to the nines tonight; if anything, he was probably underdressed in his casually layered shirts and blazer. Not that the knowledge bothered him in any way, of course- shabby chic had pretty much become his own personal wardrobe catchphrase.

Sascha glanced back in the direction of the dance floor, the thoughtful grin on his lips widening as he wondered whether or not it was too early to cut in for a dance with the bride. Well, alright- maybe a little flirting was still in order.

Had she come alone, Marit might have made her escape early on in the reception. Nathaniel Wyatt proved to be an acceptional companion in this bustling gathering of people, which neither had really been in the middle of in some time nor were the sort to be the social butterflies as others were. They sat together and at the end her romanticism was exposed in the form of her smiling through a few tears of joy for the happy couple. Weddings, they always got her; weddings and babies were just too joyous to keep emotions inside.

During said ceremony and thereafter, she had noticed her neighbor whom she had only just met for the first time a few days prior. Ah, the poor thing was the great focus of three ladies whom had decided to become rather taken with him and were much obliged to make it known. Marit would not go to speak with Sascha just yet, not as he went to get a breath of fresh air down and closer to the lake. Yes, she had looked off to the lake a few times in the evening and was thankful that she had not seemed to obviously offend Nathaniel. But they were of similar tempermants and he even seemed to be off somewhere else from time to time.

When he had glanced back in the direction of the dance floor, he would have caught Marit in approach. Her hands held a glass of champagne, the same one she had been and would continue to hold for the evening. One glass of champagne could easily send her into a mess of giggling not just because she liked the tickle of the bubble but because she had absolutely no head at all for any sort of alcohol. While he had gone for shabby chic, Marit's attire was more of a classic chic, a blue dress that softened the intensity of her eyes. Her hair was neatly twisted into a bun at the back of her head. All in all, it would be the first time he had seen her out of the water and without a tail.

"Mister Connolly," she said softly in greeting as she increasingly closed the distance between them. "I had wondered if I would see you here. It seems to be the social event of the season." There was that smile again; it was especially hard for her not to smile during ocassions such as these.

Sascha squinted just a bit at the approaching figure, trying to make out the familiar form silhouetted by the light from the torches. It wasn't until she was only a few paces away that he was able to clearly see her distinguishing features, and his smile widened in recognition. His eyes followed the low cut of the dress across her chest and down to the swishing material of her skirt (and the generous length of leg beyond the fairly conservative hemline), and he nodded appreciatively before extending a hand to her.

"You're certainly a sight for sore eyes, Miss Larsson...or how about Miss Marit?" He greeted her with another kiss to her knuckles, an action that seemed to be developing into a bit of a trademark for him. "Personally, I like to keep it short and sweet- just 'Sascha' works fine for me." He glanced over her attire once more, keeping a light grip on her hand as a measure of familiarity that he hoped wasn't too disconcerting to her. Physical contact had never really been an issue for Sascha; sometimes he could get a little too touchy-feely for his company's comfort, although he could generally pick up on any negative or uncomfortable vibes a person might have given off before it became a real issue.

"That dress certainly does look incredible on you," he complimented with a sly grin and a wink before reaching up with his other hand and lightly brushing the backs of his fingers against her cheek. "But I think you wear this," here he tapped gently at the corner of her mouth with a finger to indicate her smile, "even more beautifully." Smiling a little more cheerfully (and a little less lasciviously), he withdrew his hand from her face and gestured to the dance floor.

"Take a turn and dance with me? I won't step on your feet, I promise." He held up two fingers as if to swear by the statement before tugging at their still joined hands as he moved toward the designated area, kicking up a little sand as he went. Since the event had been held along the beach and fairly close to the bungalows, Sascha hadn't even bothered to bring his shoes with him and had made the short trek barefooted; he usually preferred it that way, anyway. Sweeney was probably making friends close to the buffet tables by now.

"I didn't see you during the ceremony," he remarked casually once they'd reached their destination, moving a little closer to settle his other arm around her waist as his hand rested at the small of her back. "Did you come alone? Looks like you've managed to find your land legs since last we met."

Sascha and Marit :]

There was something about Sascha that tickled Marit and she thought that it must also be what attracted other ladies to him. He certainly did have a friendly and flirtacious manner that was a bit disharming. In taking of his hand and his doting on her knuckles, Marit gave a bit of a nod and said, "Marit will do just as well, Sascha." Her neighbor did have his own sense of style, too, very 'bohemian' as she has heard. Whether or not it suited him was not something she could discern as she did not know him.

Marit was more of a woman that you might find in classic literature; not at all the heroine, the woman whose many thoughts and inability to reserve some of them landed her into webs of confusion. No, she was much more of the quiet, reserved sister or cousin to the much more forward lady, the one that kept people grounded or was a good listener to all of these issues. If Sascha were to do something disconcerting, she would not be the sort to verbally say so, but there would certainly be a shift in her body language. His compliments might have been a bit much had that sly grin not melted into a smile of cheer as he guided her to the dance floor.

"A dance would be lovely," she stated as they were already on their way. The song was smooth and sweet though she could not place if it were by someone that she should know. Their physical closeness did not bother Marit as this was customary in dancing. Her unheld hand lifted and rested on his shoulder lightly as they moved easily together. While Marit was not necessarily a natural dancer, she was used to being very... fluid in movement.

"Perhaps you weren't looking for me?" Marit replied with a bit of a smile as they moved in and around the other dancers, everyone smiling and laughing and having a grand time. "I came with Mister Nathaniel Wyatt. We met by chance as I was headed to the library in town." His comment about her legs made her smile grow brightly and she tipped her head down a little as she giggled. "Yes, well, I'm trying to make a good habit of spending as much time on land as I do in the lake." Her voice quieted some as though her aquatic tendencies were something of a secret. "You're the first who has seen my tail, you know. I think some people find that to be a lucky thing."

Zane and Amada - OPEN

Planning the reception so close to the site of the wedding had been a brilliant move. Once the ceremony had ended, the newlyweds had managed to walk down the aisle hand in hand and just keep right going across the beach to where their stunning reception waited. Everything looked just...perfect. Amada couldn't believe how well everything had come out, she was absolutely thrilled. Freya had been a godsend, helping she and Zane pull this whole reception together with little more than a week to spare. And Emily! Oh, Amada couldn't have done this without her maid of honor. Before the ceremony had concluded, she had a very special gift to give her - it was tradition, after all.

A few of the revelers were already there with the new couple arrived, applauding their entrance, their first appearance as husband and wife. The smiles hadn't vanished from their faces since the moment they'd seen each other at the start of the ceremony and Amada would bet that she wasn't going to be stopping anytime soon. She hadn't been happier...ever, couldn't remember a day that had meant more to her. To know that things between them were so official now, that they had promised themselves to one another, that they had made that commitment to one another was a truly special occasion worthy of celebration.

The tent-like set up was already glowing softly, thanks to the beautiful little white candles spread throughout, music filling the air as things got started. Amada had been so caught up in looking around, in taking everything in, that it was only Zane tugging softly on her hand that caught her attention. He lead her out onto the makeshift dance floor for their first dance as a married couple, his arms sliding around her waist. Smiling up at him, Amada slid her arms around his neck, the two swaying slowly to the music.

The dance, like everything else that day, was beautiful. The two only had eyes for one another. Once the song ended, the crowd applauding happily again, Amada leaned up to press a kiss to Zane's lips. Now it was time to mingle with the crowd, to greet everyone and thank them for coming out to help celebrate such a momentous day...

Wedding’s weren’t Lucretia’s cup of tea to be honest she wondered why she was even at the reception. It wasn’t the ceremony, no. It had been a long time since the witch had seen something so elegant yet not overdone. It was more of a personal memory that somewhat sent a chill of sorrow through her body. It wasn’t a good time to feel anything but either drunk or in the mood to congratulate the love birds on such a wondrous occasion. Or there was both. Though Lucretia was sipping on an alcoholic drink, she was more for the respective option when it came to Zane and Amada’s wedding. She had to admit she didn’t know them, and she was the type of woman who was ice cold enough not to even care, but they seemed awfully nice and like a wonderful pair.

She looked over to them with an admitted smile and she was beckoned to go on over and give her best wishes. She tucked the strands falling towards her eyes behind her ear and gave out a sigh.

Lucretia took one last sip of her drink and nodded her head as an “excuse me” to anyone in her way. When she came towards Amada and Zane she gave a light smile. “Really was a wonderful wedding. Congratulations.”

Zane and Amada, and Lucretia
[info]nospoon

Zane couldn't believe that he was finally married to his beloved Amada. She was his wife now and while their relationship wasn't that much different now (he was certain it would still be the same as when they were just engaged and living together), there was something about the term 'married' and 'husband and wife' that made everything more special.

His arms had rested around Amada's waist and they were swaying slowly to the music. Their first dance as Mr. and Mrs. Smith and the doctor couldn't have been happier. He leaned in to plant a kiss to Amada's lips and whispered, "I love you" before he pulled her in for a hug. It was then that Lucretia had come upon them and offered up her congratulations.

Zane looked up and smiled broadly at the woman. He didn't know her personally but he had recognized her from the medical pavilion. She was the medical examiner and though they hadn't had a chance to work together that fact alone made Zane consider her a colleague.

"Thank you very much!" He replied with his trademark goofy grin. "We're happy that you could celebrate it with us." He had stopped swaying with Amada to engage in conversation with the woman who had taken the time to come up and speak to them. It was polite after all, and Zane didn't want her to feel unwelcome in any way.

"You work in the med pavilion, right? I've seen you around but we haven't had a chance to talk before now. Sorry 'bout that." His grin turned a bit sheepish as he squeezed Amada's side softly to pull her closer to him. "Well let me officially introduce myself then. I'm Zane," he held out his hand here. "And this is my wife, Amada."

Emily was besides herself with happiness for Amada and Zane, who looked so wonderful together that it was hard not to smile when she gazed upon them. The ceremony was beautiful and now that it was time for the reception, she had an opportunity to relax. She couldn't help sneaking pieces of chocolate every once in a while and wanting to dance with someone. Malcolm, first of all. It was better to just watch now and wander around, mingling with people if they wanted to do so with her. Twirling the end of a strand of hair around one of her fingers, she looked around at the people there - the happy couple, Loki at the bar and a couple of women she didn't recognise... that didn't matter as long as they were having fun.

Where was her daughter? Echo had run off somewhere and Emily hoped that it wasn't too far away because she disliked the thought of losing her again. Touching a petal of one of the flower centerpieces, she stepped away to find a chair. She wasn't a fierce party girl normally and now was no different. Out of the corner of her eye, she thought she saw her daughter running across the sand and decided to get a drink before walking around the reception area once more. Emily said hello to a couple of people out of courtesy and gave an especially warm smile to Amada who was with her new husband.

The last time Sheldon was at a wedding he was so wasted all he remembered was the devastated bride slapping him because he told everyone he shagged her three nights before. Not all weddings are without secrets. This one seemed rather secret free between the two and perfect as well. Zane was a lucky bloke, heaven sent him a beautiful dame that had him wondering what was underneath the dress. Of course, he was a wee bit drunk at the moment. His thoughts were a bit on the wondering side.

He waved at a few people before he went to find a private place for him to light a cigarette. The psychic glanced over to see a rather attractive lady he didn't recall meeting. Besides a run in with Caden that was very brief, he hadn't met anyone really.

"Good wedding, aye?" He smiled at the stranger. "Makes you believe in happy endin's and all."

Emily hadn't had anything to drink because knowing her, she'd end up slinking around any man she found remotely attractive if she had enough. It was necessary for her to remain sober to enjoy this wonderful event. She didn't expect someone to come up to her and she gave the dark-haired man a smile in return. The good mood of everyone around her meant her own spirits brightened even more. Another accent different from hers, that was lovely. "Oh, yes," she said. "They both look gorgeous and so happy. I'm really glad everything went all right for Amada. Nerves, you know, make things even more difficult."

There was something to be said about happy endings - Emily wanted one for herself, Echo and the twins more than anything. It was difficult not to be impatient and rushing things, but her father always told her she needed to wait for things to run their course. If the Lord wanted her to have a happy life here, then he'd provide it - if not, it was a test to see if she was worthy. Emily must have done something right, because so far everything was wonderful here. Her father may not have been here, but she found other people she quickly had affection for and that was good enough. "I wish them all the best. Oh, I completely forgot to introduce myself! I'm Emily and I hope you're enjoying yourself. As the maid of honor, I take it upon myself to make sure everyone's happy."

Sanura never drank, but tonight was an exception and she couldn’t help but to ask to try out all the perfectly decorated drinks in orange and blues and pinks. They seemed like they weren’t going to send her over the edge. Oh, but she was horribly wrong. She made a hand signal at whoever was serving her drink that she was indeed fine to get up on her own and stumbled slightly before she tossed off her shoes in some unknown direction.

Looking around the well decorated premise she giggled to herself. She didn’t know why, but everything was funny to her. The land she was walking on was a giant balancing beam. She wasn’t to the point of getting sick, she was just loopy and in another planet.

Eventually, the teetering land was too much for her and she lay on her back on the sand smiling sweetly. “Comfortable. Mm..Nice weeding, nice drinks…..nice sand..”

Adam attended the wedding in high spirits. He was overjoyed to see two people so happy together, and he wished the best for each other them in their new life with each other. The ceremony was wonderful, and Adam readily admitted it to anyone who asked. After all, the elemental saw no shame in embracing feelings unlike a lot of other males. He may have been a fighter, but it was the type of fighting for protection. All throughout, from skin to core, Adam was a softy.

He was making his way through the reception, saying hi to anyone who said hi to him, but he hadn't stayed very long in any particular area. Finally, he broke free from the crowd and settled on the corner of things, closer to the beach than the rest and just beyond the reach of the lights. Adam spotted someone in the sand, and his curiosity was piqued, so he got up and headed over to see who it was.

Adam noticed Sanura once he got close enough. A big smile appeared on his face, and he copied her motions — falling down to the sand on his back beside her with his arms spread out on either side. "Hello," Adam said with a big grin.

Marley and Giles

Marley had watched the wedding from the back, standing with eyes wide like a child. She didn’t have to be right up front to know how it felt, know the happiness Amada and Zane felt. She felt like everyone’s emotions were tied up in a knot around her and she felt content. Normally emotions conflicted everywhere and empathy sometimes was overwhelming. But the general feeling was the same. The people of Elysium were happy for the two happiest people in the world currently.

You would have to be pretty cold hearted to feel otherwise, that’s what the bright colored hair teen concluded too. Marley walked down her own path, gazing at the citizens of the sanctuary they called home. She at least sensed no feeling of envy that went towards hate. She herself knew that Zane and Amada were the type of couple you’d want to make a mini size of and put on the top of your wedding cake. Yeah..if she got married.

During the wedding she finally sensed what she would call the “spidey sense” she had been waiting for. It was the feelings of two of the same abilities colliding. Or at least in her case that was what her mother told her. Perhaps it was just in this one case. All of these years staring at some old photograph, learning facts day by day if she did her homework. All in hopes that she could piece together a true form of him. He must have known she was catching on to him because she sensed conflicting emotions..did he not want to see her? Was she left behind because he didn’t want her.

She just wanted to see one glimpse of him. Then she would go away.
When she couldn’t feel his presence anymore and didn’t want to play cat and mouse she closed her eyes with a pained sigh and nodded in understanding. She wanted to feel the breeze try and calm down her sense of hurt and she wanted to walk over to Zane and Amada to forget her alternate task besides going to the wedding. She felt the tears coming down like a rainstorm from her eyes, but she could use it as an excuse for having an awful weakness for weddings.

Blinded by the arm she was using to wipe her eyes, she ran into someone and staggered back slightly. She just put her head down and meant to just keep walking but as she looked up she found herself frozen in place.

He was the same. Just older, scruffier and cranky looking. She wanted to hug him, to push him, to question him..But nothing.

“I…”

He had been avoiding her, yes. But it was just the feeling of emotions running down to the pit of his stomach that he wasn't used to. He was supposed to be a brick wall with sarcasm radiating off of it. Knots were in the hundreds in his stomach and he was wondering out of all the shelters in the world, why was she here? He wasn't ready for this. He wasn't ready for having responsibility. He wanted to be at a party for the sake of getting drunk and making absurd comments towards the attractive females that littered the towns, the houses.

His emotions were on fire, he was getting a headache because she was so close and eager to know if he hated her, if what her mother and him had was a mistake. He was too full of himself and into his career to give a damn about a child, but karma brought her here. What was he going to say if she caught up? This wasn't the best place for a ruinion, this wasn't a place for chatter about not being there for your daughter.

He felt her emotions grow worse and the cold hearted sense of him wanted to tell her that times were hard, wanted to close his emotions and make her feel nothing. So that's what he did, once again he closed himself off and denied himself responsibility.

He thought he rid himself of her just for now, just so he could pretend he was feeling like an ass of his past deed and she was no longer there just a ghost.

But that's when he ran into her. He wasn't going to act like he could smile and open his arms to embrace her, he just couldn't turn a switch. His cheeks puffed and he looked to the side before huffing.

"Well, you just gonna stand there?"

Adrienne & Zach, and Danté

The wedding was beautiful and Adrienne was glad that she and Zach had been able to attend. She was also thankful that Zach had agreed to come to the reception with her. While Elysium was a large land with lots of places to explore it wasn't often that the citizens had the chance to attend events such as this. It was a nice way to get out and meet everyone while having a good time.

And there they were, the young couple out on the dance floor swaying slowly to the music that was playing for the reception. Adrienne had her arms around Zach's neck while his hands were resting along her waist. The girl's head was tilted slightly to the side and she was smiling almost dreamily at her boyfriend. "Isn't this nice?" She asked him with a content sigh. "Thank you for coming with me." Adrienne leaned in then to kiss him softly upon the lips with closed eyes and her body pressed to his.

Zach smiled at Adrienne as they danced, his arms resting around her waist. The music was slow and soft, and they were swaying gently along with it. He leaned in close to Adrienne and touched his nose to hers before she kissed his lips, and Zach returned it affectionately. "You know I would I go anywhere with you," he said softly, a small smile playing across his lips and in his eyes. "You just have to ask."

As he danced with his girlfriend at the reception, Zach was not aware that anyone else wanted to dance with her. Had it been Radu, Zach was sure he would refuse to let the other man dance with Adrienne, no matter how politely he asked. However, if someone Zach didn't know asked to dance with her for a moment, Zach might feel a twinge of jealousy, but he would trust Adrienne not to suddenly swoon over some random stranger who asked her for one dance.

Dante couldn't resist the call of the wedding or the reception that followed. The bride was beautiful - dark hair that framed deliciously tanned skin. But she wasn't the object of the werewolf's attention this evening. He caught sight of another wondrous creature swaying slowly on the dance floor, wrapped up in the arms of another man.

A low growl rose to the surface but he quickly cut it off when he put down his glass of punch. He straightened the shirt he was wearing and smoothed down his hair. Tonight he would make a bold move, he would move out of the shadows and into the light and make his presence known. And how could she deny him on this occasion? They were at a wedding, and people did dance. Was it a crime that he wanted to dance with a pretty girl?

"Pardon me, but do you mind if I cut in?" He offered up a small bow to Zach and Adrienne, and then smiled broadly at the pair. They couldn't resist his friendliness, and they wouldn't. He would have his chance to be close to her tonight, and tonight he would bask in her presence.

Sascha and Irei
[info]bohemiarhapsody
2008-08-07 05:21 pm UTC (link)
The evening had turned out well- better than he'd expected, and he'd had fairly high expectations to begin with- and Sascha smiled to himself as he lounged at one of the tables adjacent from the dance floor, watching the couples move and dance across the sandy expanse. He'd already taken his turn with Marit a little earlier, and the encounter had left him feeling lighter and more playful than he'd felt for several weeks.

But now he was full of mischievous energy and unsure of how he should go about expending it. Perhaps he could find another dance partner if he liked. Ooh, maybe the brunette over by the Tiki Bar, or- wait, were those people lying on the sand at the edge of the dance floor? Sascha blinked a few times and chuckled in appreciation at the light-hearted spirit (or maybe spirits was a better explanation) the event had inspired in everyone. He saw Zane through a break in the crowd and smiled as he gave him a thumbs up sign.

Then Sascha caught a glimpse of a familiar shock of hair on the opposite side of the dance floor, and in a matter of seconds he was on his feet and moving in that direction. Apparently Irei had found a svelte blonde to hold his attention for the moment, and while Sascha definitely approved of the choice, he also felt the urge to do something a little...unexpected. The band had begun to pick up the pace, and now the music was better suited to a more energetic style of dancing.

"Excuse me," he offered in as chipper a voice as he could manage, grinning widely at the brief look of surprise on Irei's face as he held out a hand expectantly toward his roommate but addressed the woman. "I need to borrow your partner for a song or two. I'll give him back when I'm done, don't worry."

Irei smiled at the pretty blonde lady. It had taken a good thirty minutes to talk her into dancing with him. That included small talk. Normally he was much quicker at finding a girl and getting her interested in him. Kaiya had wandered away from him after the wedding so he had been left to entertain himself. The blonde Miss Sarah (he had gotten her name rather quickly), was certainly very entertaining for now.

Irei was actually fairly graceful on the dance floor, as long as he hadn't had too much to drink. He had had a little wine with his pretty companion, but not the quantities it took to make the scenery spin. In fact he was turning his partner when Sascha came up and cut in. The girl was a little bewildered at first, and thought that Sascha must have meant he wanted to dance with her. That was until he explained about returning Irei to her at a later time.

Irei was a little hesitant to place his hand in to Sascha's in such a large crowd of people. He smiled reassuringly at Sarah and left her for his friend. He followed Sascha's lead and narrowed his eyes fractionally, just to show a bit of mild annoyance. "What were you bored?" He smirked at his friend, "Or are you just planning some mischief?"

Discretion obviously wasn't Sascha's main concern as he took Irei's hand and led him toward the center of the dance floor, maneuvering past a few couples who had turned to watch the pair with interest. Once they'd reached a fair-sized stretch of sand devoid of other dancers, Sascha gave a loud, dramatic sigh and dropped his forehead to lay against Irei's shoulder.

"Good Gawd, yes!" he drawled whiningly in response to Irei's question, sliding a hand underneath his roommate's blazer to settle over his waist as he massaged idly with his fingers. "Entertain me." He lifted his head to grin at Irei as he stepped back slightly and lifted their hands in preparation. "Whatsay we turn a few heads tonight?"

Sascha glanced over his shoulder and winked at their newfound audience before pushing Irei out and away from him while still holding on to one hand, a move very reminiscent of swing dancing. He quickly pulled Irei back to him and began to dance, incorporating some footwork he knew his partner would pick up on fairly easily since he'd shown him the steps before. He made sure to maintain a certain posture as he danced with the other man, keeping their motions fluid and injecting enough energy into the dance to ensure that neither of them was really leading the other.
