Who: Lysander and Xanthus When: Morning has broken Where: A grove of trees outside Helicharis What: Sullen teenage boys are difficult to deal with
It had almost felt like he'd never slept. Mostly because he hadn't - he couldn't sleep after his conversation with Korrace and he hadn't slept much prior to that, the slide from unconsciousness to that middle state happening not too long after his body became immovable with sleep. His limbs felt incredibly heavy as he stared, body slumped on the ground and his arms folded under his head over a large boulder, at the dying embers of the fire.
He couldn't remember learning how much brush it took to keep a fire burning through the night. There wasn't a calculation for it. He just knew how much to gather, could adjust automatically if it was a windy night or a cool night or if he'd be leaving before daylight broke. It was natural. It was natural to Xanthus, it was natural to every centaur he ever met, he was sure. It was natural. They just knew.
Lysander blinked, mouth a thin, empty line. He had spent hours trying to find what he was looking for, some extra spark, some... something. He just couldn't find it, not matter how hard he searched inside of himself. Quite a bit past frustration, he simply stared out ahead of him in melancholy blankness, watching the flames flicker low.

Who: Open to Some (Characters must be strong to accompany this group.) When: All Day Where: Outside of Elysium, beyond the mountain range in unsafe lands. What: The rest of the search party checks outside of Elysium for Dante. OOC: Post multiple threads, leave them open for others to join, or set your character up with someone in particular! Just have fun and use your imagination! Clues, discoveries, and more are up to you!
While half of the search party split into smaller groups and checked the inside of Elysium’s borders, there was another group that needed to scale the dangerous lands outside of the safe haven. It was probable that Dante Donovan had taken the route out of Elysium and sought to get as far away from the haven as possible. In truth, it was the only way the werewolf would escape the law, so it seemed a viable option to pursue. Only strong praeternaturals and humans with useful physical or magical abilities were allowed to accompany this group because of the dangers of traveling beyond the haven in a diseased and radiated wasteland.
Though the view from within Elysium must have been a beautiful sight to behold, there appeared a dull fiery hue to the sky and the land beyond the borders. Many of the plants were withered, and the ground seemed muddy and ran unbridled in all directions. Past the mountains, there existed few places to hide in the open terrain. Perhaps the only true place for shelter was a large forest in the distance, but searching the forest would take days upon days of travel and lost time. It was unlikely they would ever find the werewolf and his captives if Dante fled to the forest.
Still, a false trail might have been set up to trick them and let them believe Dante had taken this direction. Any clue was a clue to being one step closer to the madman, and the party would search until they were successful.

Who: Open to Everyone When: All Day Where: The edge of Elysium, near the mountains. What: Some of the search party checks inside Elysium’s borders for Dante. OOC: Post multiple threads, leave them open for others to join, or set your character up with someone in particular! Just have fun and use your imagination! Clues, discoveries, and more are up to you!
Despite their reasons for being at the edge of Elysium, the edge of the land was a beautiful place to behold. Mountains rose high into atmosphere, shadowy blue in the distance and snow-tipped at the peaks. Endless caves burrowed into the mountains, though most of them were occupied by the dwarves and their little kingdom apart from most of Elysium. Not only could Dante not hide with the dwarves, for they had been warned of his possible presence at the borders, but the search party could gleam information of local happenings from the dwarves.
It was unlikely they would find Dante today, but the werewolf had to have left a trail due to traveling. There was no way he could not be traced, not when he was being followed by trained guards, eager citizens, and other praeternaturals with senses to combat Dante’s own. Taking the two women with him had been a terrible mistake, and the search party was determined first and foremost to rescue Dante’s captives and to take Dante—dead or alive, the announcement said—back to Helicharis.
Now, it was simply up to them to pick up a trail and discover the location of Dante Donovan, Adrienne Conté, and Dione Castel.

Who: Mitsuko and Logan (Narrative) When: Night Where: Kamiyama-Nagamori-Jung cottage What: Mama-Mitsuko is NOT happy
Mitsuko had left Midori's at dawn and spent the rest of the day continuing her search for Adrienne. Her leg hurt from where it had been mauled by the todd. She hadn't given it proper time to heal before running on it once again.
She hadn't found Adrienne. As much as she wanted to continue looking for her friend, she knew she couldn't leave Logan and the twins for another night. She'd already been gone nearly two.
When she arrived home, she was greeted by a very enthusiastic hug from her brother. Logan wasn't normally extremely affectionate, but his worry for his sister outweighed any discomfort he had. Mitsuko gave Logan a pat on the head in response before limping towards the stairs.
"What happened?" Logan asked softly, noticing the injury affecting her movements.
"Just a fox," Mitsuko replied. "It's not bad. Just stings a bit."
( Are the twins asleep? )

Who: Chris, Hayate & Ralph When: Night Where: Hayate's place What: Going to hell in a handbasket of bad deeds and bad choices Warnings: Mature sexual content w/three people (eventually) and one is a teenager, jsyk.
Ralph crossed his arms over his chest. He was trying to lock warmth inside his coat. The days were easy to bear, but the nights were freezing. He walked steadily on a dirt road. Ralph counted his steps. He was on two hundred and seventy-three when the menial task bored him. He stopped counting. Ralph thought on the reason why he was out tonight. The path led to the address on the slip of paper in his pocket. Paper given to him by Hayate last night.
What had he agreed to? Ralph never did anything like this before. Just thinking about it was bizarre. He said yes though. Turning back on his word now wasn’t right. How is this right? Ralph thought. He frowned. It wasn’t wrong if everyone agreed. Morally ambiguous. Ralph liked to look at it that way.
Was what he tried to do last night right? It wasn’t any different. Ralph had moral lines. He did. The problem was figuring out where they began, and where they ended.
He noticed the lights of the cottage. Ralph walked up to Hayate’s home. His hair had fallen into his face so he raked it back using his hand. He knocked and held his breath. Morally ambiguous. He could do this.

Who: Loki [Narrative] When: Mid-day Where: Landing in The Bahamas. What: Loki discovers the horrible truth of what’s happened to the haven across the world.
When Loki spotted land on the horizon, his face swelled into a smile—no, a grin—of victory. He hollered out to his crew to prepare for landing the ship and shouted out that land was ahead on the horizon. He slid down from his post and landed hard against the wooden planks of the deck, breaking into a run across the ship. “Land is ahead, mates! Let’s land this baby!” He clapped hands with Theo and dashed to the edge of the ship’s bow as far as his feet could take him.
Holding onto the ropes of the sail, Loki leaned himself over the edge as he gazed outward. It was a beautiful sight, and closer they drew to the island. Through the fog came a clearer picture to the captain and his crew. Though he expected green hills, Loki saw a blackened stretch of scorched land. It extended as far as the eye could see, covering the once green hills with charcoal ash. The grin slowly fell from Loki’s face. This was once his home, but all he saw was a wasteland awaiting him upon the shore.
Time passed as they came closer to the island, and the tone of the crew had become somber as everyone stared ahead in silence. Eventually, the ship docked on the one piece of land not burnt to the ground: a fine stretch of pearly white sand with unmarred docks, the only man-made thing still standing ashore.
( Loki took the first step off of the ship, his boot landing first upon the sand. )

Who: Logan, Chris and Charlie When: Afternoon Where: Their cottage What: Fending for themselves while Mitsuko is away
Logan was up in his room studying. While he had not begun his lessons with Sascha yet, he had been given several books to read in preparation.
This was easier said than done, at least at the moment. Logan was preoccupied. He knew about the escape of Dante Donovan. About how he'd taken two girls-- Adrienne, Mitsuko seemed to believe. Then Mitsuko had gone out to find her friend.
Dante had been the one who killed Kaiya. That was what the rumour was. For months, he'd thought it'd been Hayate, but now... And he had Adrienne. Mitsuko and Zach were out trying to find her.
Logan had wanted to go with. He wanted to help. Wanted to make sure his friends were okay. Mitsuko refused to let him go. Said he had to stay at home. That she would get into trouble by the Council if she let him come and they could take him, Chris and Charlie away.
Logan felt he was an adult. He was very nearly eighteen. But the idea that Charlie and Chris could be taken away stopped him. Now that they were there, he didn't want them leaving.
After nearly an hour of pretending to read the book in his hands, Logan tossed it aside. He went down the two flights of stairs to the living room, to see if there was any news. Maybe Mitsuko had returned while he was trying to study. The person he found in the living room was very blonde and definitely not his sister.
Logan sighed deeply. "Mitsuko hasn't come back," He ruffled his hair with his hand. "Maybe they found Adrienne and she went to Irei's. She does do that sometimes." He'd not talked to Charlie and Chris about Mitsuko's relationship with the necromancer, but they surely knew she hadn't spent every night at their cottage since they'd moved in.

Who: Mitsuko and Midori (narrative) When: Very early morning Where: Near the forest cottages What: Mitsuko searches for her friend, gets into trouble and has a surprising moment.
There were only bits and pieces of information. The Council was playing things pretty close to the chest. The only thing Mitsuko knew was that Dante had taken two women hostage. She knew of Dante's interest in Adrienne. And her friend was not at her home.
Mitsuko had not formally volunteered for a search party. She suspected as a young woman with three teenagers in her charge, she'd be rebuked, that it was too dangerous for someone with such responsibilities. And she couldn't say she was at all comfortable with the Council still.
Besides, Mitsuko was a hunter. She was better at searching on her own, in her animal form. If she was in a 'search party', she would be slowed down.
The small white fox stopped and let out a small growl. She was tired-- she'd been at this for nearly a day. Her body ached and she was just getting confused. So many people were out searching for Dante and the kidnapped girls that her nose was clogged with the scents of so many people.
But she couldn't give up. Not when her friend was out there. She had told herself she wasn't going to lose anyone else she cared about. If that meant she had to push herself, she was going to do it. She continued on, deeper into the trees.
She was weary and her nose was close to the ground. So focused, she didn't notice the large creature leap at her.
( You territorial bastard! )

Who: Kelckek, Theora, and Open When: Morning, Where: Water Bungalows What: A very eventful Birthday... Maybe...
The early sun filled the room with the graceful pinks and yellows of morning as Kelchek opened his eyes to the new day. "Hhuhhh." He sighed with relief, thankful to have woken up. His muscles still ached as Zane said they would, but he managed to sit up with little trouble. He was definitely a sight for sore eyes with his short brown hair all a mess, his facial hair wild and scruffy, and his body hunched over in discomfort. At least he was no longer tired, although he was sure he looked it as he nearly fell off of the full sized bed in an attempt to straighten his posture. He had never liked slouching, or the awkwardness that came with this pain. Grace and poise had always been a part of him.
He slowly scanned the room. So this is my room... He hardly believed himself. My house. Lost in his thoughts he sat there dazed, trying to find something that seemed even vaguely like his, something that felt like home. He found nothing. This room was no more his than anyones. He turned his head away from the foreign room and back to the pillow, his pillow? He eyes caught sight of a small note left on the end table.
"BED REST"
"Whatever." Kelchek scoffed, unsure whether or not to take it seriously. Zane had been more than helpful and kind, but he always viewed "doctor" as an acquired taste. A taste that he hadn't acquired. Let's see how well this works. He slowly placed his feet firmly against the chilled wooden floor and applied enough pressure to test his knees for stability. So far so good. He managed to stand, but left one hand on the bed for support. Taking his first few steps was a little bit more than shaky, but it soon became easier.
( He wanted to leave this unfamiliar place, leave and run back home to his small apartment in New York. )

Who: Lysander and Theora When: afternoon Where: Helicharis, wandering about What: Lysander steals a few moments to explore alone
He had the sneaking suspicion that Xanthus had lied to him and was currently stalking him just out of eyesight. Lysander knew that his training had been directed for a very specific purpose, a very important, singularly important purpose; just now, however, he was wishing that he was better at tracking things. Or at least noticing them.
"Oh," Lysander suddenly derailed in a quiet, curious tone as he looked through a glass window (a substance he was only mildly familiar with) to see colored glass twisted into artistic shapes that defied description. He came to a halt and cupped his hands on either side of his face to block the afternoon sun from interfering with his view into the room. The glass shape before him was a cool blue that swirled up like an ocean wave might against a cliff side. He was sure it was supposed to be used for something, but Lysander couldn't guess what. It's beautiful lack of symmetry took it out of the running for a vessel of some kind.
He moved slowly across the window, breath leaving a trail high on the window as he examined each piece. Having never seen an art exhibit before, he couldn't make the necessary comparison to it. It stole his attention thoroughly, even as the white fur wrapped about his shoulders began to slip down, cockeyed on his frame.

Who: Dante, Dione, and Adrienne When: Very early morning (~3 am) Where: A cave near the western edge of the haven What: A very special Warning: Will possibly contain violence against a woman. Mature themes. Torture?
The forest was always quietest in the middle of the night, but even then it was never truly silent. There were crickets in the distance, leaves that rustled overhead, and bushes that moved unnaturally because of the nocturnal creatures that stalked their prey. Dante felt most comfortable in the night, but unlike the other animals he already had his prey in his grasp. He sat alongside Adrienne, her ankles and feet bound tightly with thick rope. She was dirty, but that didn't tarnish her beauty, or perfection.
And then there was Dione, the one he didn't have to tie up in any way. She came with him willingly, and that meant she wouldn't try to run away. Dante gazed at her calmly, but when he turned to look at Adrienne there was a fire in his eyes that burned like Hell itself.
He ran his fingers through Adrienne's hair, gentle at first before he turned it rough by grabbing at the strands to pull her head back. "When are you going to realize that you've lost," he said close to her mouth. "And you belong to me?" He licked her bottom lip, and pulled away before she could say anything to him. "Dione realizes she belongs to me," he said. Somewhere in his fucked mentality he thought a comparison would sway Adrienne to his side. Dante sidled over to the blind woman, and cupped her cheek in a manner that resembled love.
"You know you're mine, don't you," he asked Dione before he pressed his lips to hers. The action wasn't loving, but domineering, and rough, and all the while he watched Adrienne from the corner of his eyes. "Dione," he said afterward. "Beautiful Dione. How shall we celebrate this Valentine's Day, hm?"
OOC: Posting order can be Dante, Dione, then Adrienne.

Who: Sascha and Susie When: Early morning Where: Sascha and Irei's bungalow and surrounding waters What: Good morning, neighbor. :)
Sascha had never been much of an early riser. Somehow it had always been a necessity for him- morning classes were such a bitch sometimes- and he usually chose to combat the god-awful hours by downing a pot of black coffee. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't; on this particular morning, the caffeine was taking its own sweet time kicking in.
Not that he really needed another excuse for being so on edge- after all, the voluntary search parties were scheduled to set out today, and Sascha was already feeling a little anxious. He was far more concerned about Dione's well-being than he appeared to be, and the guilt he felt over his last confrontation with the blind medium was still fresh. If he'd only told someone what he'd discovered then, maybe her abduction could have been prevented; she could have been taken someplace safe, someplace that twisted maniac couldn't find her...but it didn't matter now. She and Adrienne were both long gone, and now it was time to find them.
The rising sun blazed red across the surface of the lake, and Sascha slid a lit cigarette between his lips before leaning his elbows against the railing and looking out over the lightly rippling water. He'd already assembled a small kit to take with him on the expedition and had otherwise prepared himself, save for his obvious lack of concentration. His thoughts were all beginning to blend together distractingly in his head, and as he reached up to rub at his temple, his lighter slipped from his fingers and into the water below.
"...shit," he muttered a little belatedly, glancing over the railing to see if he could spot the lighter somewhere beneath the waves. The water around the bungalows was shallower than other parts of the lake, but hardly enough to allow him to wade out and retrieve the personally engraved item. It figured, though. What a perfectly discouraging start to the day.

Who: Elijah and Rosalinda When: Evening Where: The temple What: Finding solace in turbulent times?
Elijah wasn't sure how to process the events that had taken place in the last couple of days. The only tragedy he had ever experienced, truly experienced, was Aubert's death. He couldn't say that he understood what Zach was feeling, or the thoughts that were probably running rampant through the alchemist's head; all he knew was that he felt bad that Zach had to go through any of it at all. All he could do was help with the search parties that were being sent out, and help catch the psychopath that had taken Zach's girlfriend. Elijah knew that if he saw the bastard that he wouldn't think twice about killing him. But that wasn't his place. If anyone should have the pleasure of killing the man it would be the girl's family, or Zach. They loved the taken girl the most, and they would no doubt do whatever they could for her.
Elijah should have been with Zach wherever the boy was, but he was at the temple instead. He was a water elemental, and sometimes he was bigger than life; but in here, in this place he felt small. He looked around with a sense of awe, and took a seat at one of the front pews. He breathed in deeply, and let out a low sigh. It echoed around him, and Elijah closed his eyes as he felt the vibrations bouncing off his skin. He looked up at the high ceilings, and laid his neck against the back of the bench. He thought he was alone, and it was only with that solitude that he dared to speak out loud.
"I wish I knew what to do," he said to no one in particular though anyone could guess that he was speaking to a higher power. "There has to be something more that I can do to help..."

Who: Elliot & Theora When: Lunchtime Where: The Café What: Elliot makes a fool out of himself
Waiting tables was exciting for Elliot under the pressure of an escaped convict. Elliot heard rumors from table to table. He delivered a coffee and pastries to a woman animatedly conversing with friends on the subject of how the victims died. Punctured, drained of all their blood and hung on hooks. Elliot blanched, thoroughly grossed out. Texas Chainsaw Massacre much?
Then he served club sandwiches to a couple discussing a frame job. The murderer made it look like a vampire committed the crimes. Someone else got arrested. It explained the puncturing rumor. Elliot tried to stop his mouth from shooting off but he had to say something. He leaned over their table, innocently curious.
“Do they know why he framed it on a vampire?”
The woman beckoned him closer. “They say he hates vampires. Absolutely despises them. I think he’s vampirist. You know like racist but with vampires.”
“Ah.” Elliot nodded. What a load of crock.
He left the couple, looked for a new customer. Elliot tapped his pencil to his chin. Then he spotted her. A tall graceful statue of a goddess strolling into his café. Elliot looked up and mouthed ‘thank you’ to the powers watching over him. He made a beeline for her table, pencil and notepad ready.
“Hi,” said Elliot. He wore his best inviting smile, used his best sultry voice. “How may I be of service today?” He made a finger gun at her. “For you?”

Who Kelckek, Adela, and Susie. (Also Open if anyone is interested.) When Mid Afternoon-ish. Where Water Bungalow, then lake Alata'elen. What Kelchek wakes up after his nearly eight month coma.
Nightmares of his last few minutes of consciousness plagued Kelchek’s mind. All too real were the images of that battle field just as their party reached the Balkan Mountains. Watching his newly found Elven friends die one by one as they tried to make their way to safety. He could still feel their pain as his own, until the explosion- a bright flash of red and yellow, then black. Emptiness was all that he could feel slowly consuming him, filling his thoughts and his lungs with nothing. He was suffocating. “Donovan!” Kelchek shot up out of his nearly eight month coma yelling for the only other person left in their traveling party- his brother. His muscles ached from being immobile. “O, Où suis-je?” Wh, Where am I? He could feel the soreness of his throat as he quickly scanned the room; plain walls, wood floor, a few vases with different foliage, and windows, large windows with a view of the lake. Relief started to spread though his body knowing that water was so close to him. If only the woods were right there as well, he thought to himself knowing he was most comfortable in the woods or in water. Using the end table he cautiously eased his way out of the all too comfortable bed. He looked at his feet in an attempt to stable himself and as he took his first unsteady step his arm knocked a small box off the shelf and unto the floor. His eyes started to water as he looked at its contents before him, a crystal pendant, a picture and a little black book. Kelchek kneeled down and grabbed the pendant necklace, its brilliance intensified by his tan chest as he placed it around his neck. He slid the black book under his pillow wanting to keep its contents of healing knowledge secret. Then he reached for the picture. Crinkled and a little torn, this picture meant more to him than anything. He could no longer keep the tears back as he held the picture of his human lover, Matthew. Pain and remorse filled him as their final moments together filled his mind. Setting the picture on the end table Kelchek rushed to the window, projecting his emotions into the clear water that surrounded his new home, but not even that could help subside the pain he was feeling. "Pourquoi?" Why? But he was no longer alone. He could feel someone else’s energy behind him.
