NO SUCH PLACE

No Such Place

The global pandemic is what started it all. First, it was disease. People were dropping like flies. Then, came the war. Everyone blaming each other. Then, came the famine — whole world lain to waste. It was as if the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse showed up themselves. The world was over, or so it seemed. Now, it must begin again. We must rebuild. This is our beginning. Our corner of paradise, and we call it Elysium.

Who: Irei and Zosimus
Where: Behind Irei's/Sascha's home at the bungalows
When: Mid-morning/lunchish
What: Little centaurs certainly get around and their toys turn up in the oddest places.
Note: Started on AIM, but will be continued here in comments.

Chasing after his arrows, shot one by one, Zosimus eventually found himself standing in the grassy field behind the water bungalows. He grinned, recognizing the area as he thundered across the greenery to a tree that his stone head shot in to. He grumbled quietly to his little self as he couldn’t reach at first try. Glancing around, as if he didn’t want to see people watching him, the centaur finally pushed himself up on to his hind legs. Front hooves scratching at the bark, the boy strained to reach the arrow just out of his reach. With a sigh, he backed away and paced in a line, turning after going several steps and walking the other way. All the while his smoky eyes looked over the feathered tip sticking a foot and a half away from the rough tree trunk.

Figuring another try might work, Zosimus was rewarded with his arrow and held it in his young hands. He had two more in his quiver, strapped over his bare back, but he liked this one best. Stringing it in to his bow, the centaur turned blindly as many children did and released after pulling the archery device taught. Thwack. Gasping, Sims’ mouth fell open as he saw the arrow get caught up in a breeze and disappear into a house. “Uh-oh,” the foal mused to himself as he trot up to the building and looked at the window high over his head. He felt terrible and hoped he hadn’t broken anything! If there was one thing he had learned from an old female centaur wandering around their herd, it was that you should be mindful of other life and things.

Now what, he wondered, looking left, right, and behind him. No one; at least not yet. The brunette looked very upset and bit his lower lip, nose scrunching up awkwardly as he thought. “Um. . .” mused Zosimus as he backed away, hair covered hooves stomping over the ground in anxiety. It was a nervous habit of his. Maybe if he went around front and knocked? Hopefully no one was home, he could just sneak on in and get his arrow back. A common thought a nine year old might have—hide all evidence and run.

Irei was only a little more than annoyed. . . )

Who: Rion , Voe and Nathaniel
Where: Rion’s cottage and the Abandoned Elven Palace
When: Just before sunset and into the night
What: Rion meets Nathaniel, Voe and Rion go to the palace

Slowly, since having met Voe, Rion had become like a different person. Like, because he really wasn’t a different person. Something in their connection had slowly managed to dust off the guilt and lack of confidence from him. It wasn’t as if those feelings were gone forever, they were still there, but they were now below the surface and at least for now, Rion was able to breathe again. He felt more like his old self, happier and younger than he’d felt in the last year, perhaps even in years. He was now much more relaxed and open to the company of others than he’d been in awhile; he simply felt happy.

Rion didn’t know what laid in store for him, now that his relationship with Voe had breeched the platonic level and taken a turn for the possibility of something more. He hadn’t seen Voe since they were intimate but judging by her letter, her feelings were rather strong, and it seemed as though the time they’d spent together was possibly more than a passionate impulse. He was excited about her, about them; whatever that was to mean.

He’d just gotten off work a few hours ago and got home in time to shower and straighten up a few things around his cottage before Voe was to arrive. His hair was pulled back and he’d shaved, though probably to Voe’s chagrin, he was wearing his ensemble: jeans and a t-shirt. Rion made sure he’d blown out all the candle before he left the house. He slung his bag over his shoulder and turned to lock the cottage behind him before slipping the key into his pocket. He sat down on the front step of his cottage and pulled out his father’s knife and has thousandth attempt at what was supposed to be a small kangaroo.

Who: Dione and Nathaniel
Where: the Art Supplies shop.
When: mid-afternoon.
What: first meeting.

After his morning, Nathaniel thought it was necessary to relax a little by browsing various shops to see what he could get Zach and Marit... and Umeko too as it was appropriate for him to do so. She might appreciate it as well and it wouldn't do to have her think badly of him. He started by looking in the Glassblower's, a decent place for presents. Christmas was still ages from now yet he always liked to plan for presents in advance. In fact, he always planned presents far ahead so he knew that they would be something the recipient would enjoy. Nathaniel knew he was paranoid about such things. Making people happy was necessary, in his opinion, and he liked to be very generous with his gifts.

A few vases caught his eye as he browsed the shop, though he had no idea if they'd like the type of them anyway. Vases were a boring gift unless someone was moving into somewhere new and no one was doing that. Moving out of the Glassblower's, he decided to go to the Art Supplies. He didn't know if his friends had any interest in art - it was always possible that he'd find something they might want to try. He walked into the shop and slowly started to browse the aisles, inspecting the sketchpads. Perhaps someone could use an art journal - some of them were ornately decorated.

Nathaniel headed to the pastels; he attempted to draw with them a couple of times and was absolutely hooked. The set in front of him was particularly lovely and he had to get it. Reaching for it, his hand accidentally bumped into a hand of a woman whom he hadn't seen until just now. "Apologies," he said. "Do you want the pastels?" If she did, there was no way he would get into the way of her desire. Such a thing was not very polite of him, was it?

Who: Sanura and Adrienne!!!
Where: Silmé Lagoon (hope this is okay!)
When: Afternoon
What: Two awesome chicks finally meet up again!

Near eighty degrees was more than enough to get Sanura back to Silmé Lagoon where she usually would go for her swims. There she was swimming until she could feel the pressure in her limbs, telling her she should probably cool it for a bit. But she just kept pushing herself until the water felt like it was boiling and her legs stung like little bees were stinging them. She didn’t know why she tried so hard, maybe she just secretly thought she needed the exercise. Or maybe it was the adrenaline high from a few nights ago. It was such a rewarding feeling when you felt strong, big and bad. Of course that was only when she was in stripes, figuratively speaking.

With a long breath she dunked her head underwater, craving some cooler air to soothe herself. A few seconds later she surfaced and swam towards a nearby ledge. As always she just let the warm breeze and the sun dry her off. But she was curious as to why no one else was out. It was a good time to enjoy whatever was going to be left of the season. God, she was going to dread the cold weather. She could tolerate cooler water, but ice water was going too far.

Figuring she would be spending her moments of drying off alone, she lay back and closed her eyes.

yetheregrets
Who: Nathaniel and Umeko
When: mid-morning
Where: the medical pavillion and in Helicharis
What: Meeting again.

Nathaniel shut the door of the forest cottage behind him and started to walk in the direction of Helicharis. Ever since yesterday when Voe received a note from Janus, she'd become so dreamy and smily that it was impossible to ask her to do anything. He took matters in his own hands and had decided to head to the medical pavillion to restock their blood supply. Finding himself in a situation where he was hungry and acted upon that scared the life out of him (no pun intended) and he wanted to make sure that wasn't going to happen any time soon.

There was one small problem with going into town and the medical pavillion - namely, a woman named Umeko who might want to ask him to go with somewhere. Maybe he misread her intentions. Yes, that had to be it. He pushed those thoughts into the back of his mind as he continued walking. Walking was good for the health, he had to admit, but there were days when he was especially lazy and missed his car. Not that he'd used his car in months no thanks to being a vampire (or an undead bloodsucker of the night, but that sounded odd).

Did anyone else miss the comforts of the modern age? Surely there had to be several people who did; it had been so ingrained into people's everyday lives that it seemed unlikely people would just stop being lazy or reliant on technology. After a little while, he reached the outskirts of town and headed to the large building of the medical pavillion. Walk casually into the place, he told himself, blood bank's over there, all I have to do is head towards the blood bank, get what we need, and go. He moved to the room where the blood was stored and stood with his hands feeling shaky in front of the cabinet. So much blood. He couldn't bring himself to call it food.

Lord. Nathaniel suddenly remembered when he fed upon someone for the first time; the rush of blood all over his hands, the look of horror on the man's face as he slipped through death's door... Something warm gushed onto his skin and he broke out of his thoughts to see that somehow he'd taken a bag of blood, squeezing it so hard that it burst. "Shit," he cursed, so out of it that swearing seemed the least of his problems. He tossed the empty bag into the bin and searched the room for a cloth to dampen, wiping a portion of the liquid off the floor. The cloth was soaked, so he had to go to the sink in order to squeeze out the blood and wash it. The blood running into the drain brought back even more awful memories - Nathaniel gripped the edge of the sink hard enough for his knuckles to whiten.

Who: Giles and Emily
Where: near the Plancks' forest cottage
When: early afternoon
What: Meeting again and having a serious discussion.

Emily pulled one of the chairs from the dining room outside to the front porch and covered it with a couple of blankets in order to make it more comfortable, adding two pillows. She sat down and covered her legs with another blanket, uncapping her pen and alighting it on her notepad as she prepared to think of more lesson plans for her young class. Every one of her students was absolutely adorable and she took special interest in Maddy because the girl was her direct connection with Malcolm. Unfortunately, concentrating seemed to be impossible at the moment - she'd have to work on lesson plans later when she was in a more focused mood.

Her thoughts wandered as she gazed into the lovely forest. It had been days and still she was in disbelief that she'd actually danced in front of everyone. Needless to say, she wanted to dance again... maybe a slow dance with Malcolm. No one had to be good to slow dance and they needed to do romantic things together more frequently. A familar figure appeared in the distance and Emily saw it to be Giles. It'd been a while since they had their interesting conversation and it never hurt to say hello at least. She rose from her chair, placing the pen and pad on it before heading towards the man. There was something hanging over him that she took a moment to decipher as she didn't know him that well.

"Hello, Giles," Emily said with a smile. "Remember me, Emily? I hope you've been well." If not, she took it upon herself to help as much as possible. There was also the possibility that they would just have a pleasant conversation, which was fine by her. "Keeping busy with fun things, I should imagine?" It seemed to her that he was the type to include a healthy balance of fun and work in his daily routine. Goodness, where was her manners? "And if you'd like some tea or something else to drink, I would be more than happy to make you some." She offered a small but affectionate smile to him.

constantguard
Who: Adam, Constance, and Simon
When: Afternoon
Where: Town Hall
What: The unjust interrogation of Simon Myles.

With no reason to disbelieve Constance, Adam set his hard eyes on the werewolf the second the man showed up at Town Hall. Politely, Adam and one of the Elven guards led him towards one of the interrogation rooms—a room which could only shelter against magic and not shifting. This time the rooms held no wards against magic. Adam had all of his capabilities available to him, as did Constance. However, Constance’s would not be much use in an interrogation room. Adam’s would be.

It was his charge to protect her. Should anything happen to Constance, it too would happen to Adam. Their bond was not so close that if Constance was wounded, Adam would be wounded as well. It might as well have been as strong, though, for all that Adam knew. He cared and loved for Constance; she was his mother and creator, the giver of his life. Her love for him raised him and taught him well and made him what he was today, and he would never, ever let anyone harm her.

The same was true for his family. Alicia was his family, Constance’s granddaughter and Adam’s niece.

He stood alone in the interrogation room with Simon. Simon seated himself in the chair across from the desk. Adam remained standing against the wall with his arms crossed. Simon would confess to his crimes of trying to hurt Alicia, and Adam would see to it that the werewolf answered for them. He believed Constance. Adam had not reason not to after everything she divulged to him in private, and what she said was true—Simon was dangerous, and he had hurt Alicia.

And he was going to pay for it.

splitimpulse
Who: Hayate & Chris
When: 4:13 AM
Where: Hayate's Cottage
What: The lion and the lamb play with cards — and tattoos.

Ever since they had awoken from their long slumber to make up for the past two days, Hayate made sure Chris received proper food to eat for an early breakfast the next day. Again, he cooked the food himself, trying his best to remember how to use human things like stoves. Certain appliances created for modern day people were beyond Hayate's comprehension if he had no use for them, and a stove was one of those things he simply had no use of. However, with a new visitor to his house almost every other day, he was beginning to find use for his cupboards, freezer, and fridge. He stored human food in them for the young girl whenever she came over to visit him. The kitchen was no longer a barren wasteland, but filled to the brim with whatever foods he found that he thought she might have liked. She ate her breakfast, and he drank the blood taken from the medical pavilion after warming it up.

With all of the lights out and only a few candles lit to see by, Hayate and Chris sat at the kitchen table to play a game of cards. Chris suggested the pastime, and Hayate knew card games and saw no reason not to participate. After all, she couldn't play them by herself. Her happiness was strangely important to him, so he found a deck of cards in his house and brought them out for the two of them to use for their games.

Though it was still nighttime, all of the curtains upon the windows were drawn shut. Hayate's suspicions would not give him peace unless he had absolute and complete privacy, locks on his windows and doors, and curtains closed at night. Sometimes he even kept them closed during the day, but he wasn't often home during the day unless he had a reason to be here. It gave him peace of mind, which was enough for the vampire. As long as prying eyes could not spy inside his home, Hayate was able to relax and not worry about the outsiders of Elysium looking into his life. Those were such things the vampire did not, under any circumstances, appreciate very much from anyone — whether they were like him or not. People were nosy, and sometimes they were too nosy for their own good.

Hayate looked over the top of his cards at Chris. She sat directly across from him at the table, a scrunched and thoughtful look upon her face. A crook appeared at the corner of his mouth as he smiled slightly, wondering what cards she had received in her hand. Were they enough to beat his, or hand she landed a poor hand? So far, he had won two games naturally, but the third he had failed on purpose to give her a win. However, it didn't mean Chris couldn't get lucky at some point and find a win all on her own.

Who: Zosimus [Narrative] and two random NPCs
What: Boys will be boys
When: Day/Afternoon
Where: The Southern forest

The past week had strengthened the otherwise lost foal completely. Food was given to him morning, noon, and night, he had been able to run around and play, and there were lessons. Zosimus how realized that these Centaurs were very kind to him, not distant as he had thought they were upon arriving. Every day that past he may have grown a little more, at least intellectually and in muscle. Ragged appearance long-sine cleaned up, the brunette could see and have his eyes be seen while his tail no longer swept the ground. Today the long, coarse strands of his tail were bound in a long strip of cotton-like cloth (that had been his own doing when no one was looking) as well as the palms of his hands and right forearm.

"Can I come with you?" he had asked earlier that morning to a pair of sturdy males with bows slung over their backs. "I'll sit back and watch quietly." There was hope in his now animated eyes as he looked up at the men. The two looked at each other, one laughed before a hand came out and rest on top of his head. He had a very heavy hand, Zosimus noted as his head tilted down with the weight.

"'course yeh can come!" said the one on the left with his hand upon the boys' head. "But yeh aren't gonna watch 'nd sit there like a timid human."

Zosimus gave the man a confused look from under his hand, gently moving it away--he didn't want to offend anyone. "I'm not?" he asked quietly.

'No!' cried the other male with a grin. 'You're old enough to be taught how to shoot!' )

Who: Adair and Zach
When: Sunset
Where: Medical Pavillion
What: Adair is tired of being a hermit and neds to find a way of cheering himself up

Adair peaked his head out of the Medical Pavillion, a glance of panic working it's way across his face when he became aware that night was slowly taking over Elysium. Everything panicked him now. A foreign sound made him feel discomfort and an unfamiliar person caused his eyes to shift.

He'd been fearful for too long now. It was time to walk in the night hours with confidence. But, wasn't there some nighttime watch or something? Not very helpful for the 'twelve steps against being a hermit'.

People probably didn't know he existed anymore. Maybe Caden thought he left. He should have came out of hiding since he was more than sure he spotted Sheldon not all that long ago. But he couldn't do it. He was too afraid.

Two things prevented his visions. Cigarettes in the many and painkillers for the headaches. After what he saw with Adrienne and his failure to prevent it, he was afraid he would be what he called "responsible' for it again.

He finally made ways out of the Pavillion, on edge and his heart thumping. He just wanted to be himself. Of course within seconds a cigarette was lit and thoughts were racing. When he saw someone in the way distance he thought about turning to leave.

But he needed to get home..right?

Suddenly a thought struck. He couldn't be sure. But perhaps pulling a prank on this unfamiliar person may bring the 'old Adair' back. It was worth a try. It made him smile for once and though cruel for the other person and perhaps challenging for himself, what the hell?.

He took a long breath and took a glance at the ground. Taking a long drag from his cigarette, then putting it out he felt his lips form into a devious grin. That's it, get out of looking obvious that you're lying.

He counted to three...

Then bolted towards the poor unexpecting victim.

"OH GOD! There you are! Than-Thank GOD I found you!" He pretended to be insanely out of breath and looked the person over, like it was a miracle he found them to be alive. When you are a smoker it's not hard to get out of breath.

"Damn.If..If I didn't find you. I don't know what would have happened." The person was a male, so he didn't feel as bad to be pranking them. He then set an arm on his shoulder.

"You, my friend, are not to be walking alone at night." He pushed him feverishly down the road. "Come on! On with you!" He bit his inner cheek to hide a smirk. Least he wasn't the one scared for the next few moments.

runasone
Who: Chris and Hayate
When: Evening
Where: Hayate's cottage
What: Reunion - aka: Have you ever seen Hayate being more adorable?

There was something nibbling upon Chris’s hair, tugging at the blonde strands as if it were searching for a hidden treasure of some kind. It was enough to bring the girl forth from her forced slumber. She stirred, her body shifting against the tree trunk that she was leaning upon. Chris let out a low groan, and whatever it was that had been chewing on her hair had been scared away by the sound. Her eyes opened slowly, lashes moving up and down until her vision came into focus.

Chris let out a gasp and sat straight up from her position. She looked around, surprised that she wasn’t surrounded by four walls or darkness. What was she doing outside? Not that she was complaining! It was just… odd. She was sure that her escape attempt would have landed her back in the forest prison; instead, she was outside. Out in the open. Free. A smile began to forum upon her face and she let out a disbelieving chuckle. How absurd was it that she had been held captive for two whole days only to be released without any other consequences? Again, she wasn’t complaining in the least! The young girl was glad that nothing more had happened to her, but she couldn’t help but wonder why she had been taken in the first place.

Sighing, Chris finally stood to her feet, and picked up her bag that had been left beside her. She could find her way back to the forest cottages from where she had been left, but she didn’t want to go home. She wanted to see Hayate – that was her original destination, after all. She started off toward the town in an easy jog. Walking would have taken too long, and she was anxious to get to Helicharis as soon as possible. Once she had arrived she made a bee line straight for the vampire’s house. It was funny how she managed to keep her emotions under control up until that point, but the moment she saw Hayate’s cottage in the distance she felt tears welling up in her eyes.

What: Physical, Physical..I wanna get..

Tranquilizing an irritating teenager was legal here right? You know legal dose to ease her out of the ‘pain in the ass’ status. No responsibility if she just slept all day and didn’t bitch and moan. Ah, he could smell the whiff of his crappy parenting skills in the Pavilion hallway. It wasn’t his fault, he didn’t ask for karma to kick him straight perfect in the nads.

He wasn’t there for anyone else but himself of course. The day he came to the Pavilion without force for someone else’s well being was the day he was going to score with that elf chick he tried to hit on many days prior. He paused for a minute to wonder what that woman was up to. Add to attempts: Try to get her to aid him home. Shame on Giles. He hadn’t thought of that one. Didn’t they need partners at night since some boogie monster may be lurking around? Yes, Elune or whatever the hell keep him safe and then some.

He veered off towards the safe keeping of where the aspirin and pain medication was located and began to not so quietly toss out the medication that was in the way of what he was seeking. “This stuff looks like-“He smelt it and scrunched his nose. “Ugh and smells like it has expired in 1990.” He sighed in frustration looking down for a moment. “This. Sucks.” Where the hell was the good stuff?

He was about to continue his careless search for pain medication that wouldn’t feel like a placebo when he felt like he wasn’t alone. Duh, it was a medical facility. But maybe someone was nearby. He turned around to notice someone of company he certainty wouldn’t mind.

“Don’t mind me. I’m just sorting the meds from useless, to complete crap. So far I have complete crap and I haven’t made it to useless yet.” He looked her over. “I’m a doctor. Are you injured?” Above the waist? Or anywhere above the knees? He thought to himself. But of course, he looked as harmless as ever.

That morning Rion had found an interesting note at his door. He’d turned right back around and gone inside to write a response. Now that he had an idea about where Voe lived he was anxious to return her thoughts. He normally left inhumanly early for work anyway so he had had plenty of time to write a response, search out Voe’s cottage and leave his own letter on her doorstep. There was no paper in the house to be had and so he had to resort to tearing a page from one of his journals and writing over the drawings there. It was perhaps a horribly un-elegant thing to do but he wanted to respond to her as soon as possible. Other than that, his day had been an average work day.

When he arrived at the shop there were no special orders in the drop-box outside and very little for him to do. So that by the time the day wound down to near closing time he was rather antsy. He settled in a chair behind the counter of the store part of the shop and propped his bare feet up on the counter so that should anyone walk in all they would see were the soles of his feet. He took his father’s knife from his pocket and began working on a little oak kangaroo. He was quite good at carving almost any animal that one could think of but for some reason every time he tried to make a kangaroo it came out looking like a mutated dog.

He bit his bottom lip in his effort to concentrate. Although it was something to keep his mind busy he was at the point where almost nothing would sate his boredom and so he worked slowly, with little interest, frustration starting to get the better of him.

Who: Niccolo and OPEN or narrative!
When: Early evening
Where: Van'taurë lake
What: A good swim to clear his head

In Elysium one day ran into another for Niccolo. There were no servants, no parties, no girls to visit down at the docks, no family and most of all no endless ocean for Niccolo to lose himself in. Everyday he woke around mid-morning, fixed himself some pathetic excuse for breakfast and then painted or sketched. His sketchbooks were almost filled to the brim and he didn’t have much of anything to trade to acquire more supplies. He filled in every space of white within them, and the hand full of canvas’ that he had he re-painted again and again. Most of them were portraits of Noel. He painted the girl, who was assigned to his hand in marriage, in several different settings. Yet her face was always the same, the terrified expression he’d last seen on her face when was being taken away in the darkness.

He would line up all six canvas’ and paint her portrait on each one until he reached the last canvas and then he would walk along them, the end of his paintbrush pressed thoughtfully between his teeth. He would search her eyes for something, hoping that in one of the paintings he would find what he was looking for. He didn’t really know what it was that he was looking for but he knew that if he found it he would finally be able to feel better.

It was on Thursday afternoon that he ran out of paint. The last color he had left was red and so that six portraits he painted that day were a rather disturbing sight. When he stood back to look at them it was with disgust. In the failing light the bright red paint had darkened and it looked as if they had all been painted with blood. He threw the paintbrush down, not caring that it splattered the floor with the remains of his red paint. There was hardly anything left to eat in the house and he had fully exhausted his art supplies, unless of course he resorted to drawing on the walls with the remaining nub of his pencil.

He muttered some curses in Italian and pulled back his hair in frustration. He felt like he was going crazy, like he was on some sort of precipice. There was nothing left for him in this hollow shell of house that had been meant for voice other than his own. He busied himself in grabbing a towel and clumsily pulling on his now scuffed dress shoes. It had been a few days since he’d been to the lake. Of course his parents had to choose the cottages farthest from the salt water lake so if he wanted to have a decent swim he had to walk for twenty minutes at a brisk pace.

Niccolo left the cottage without locking the door behind him. )

Who: Kaiya and Sheldon
When: Late Afternoon
Where: Library, near one of the big windows
What: Not sure yet, will edit later!

Kaiya had been in good spirits lately. She had been growing more confident in herself, and the hope that she could have some happiness in her life. But also, she was beginning to feel like she belonged here in Elysium. Was it such a bad thing to think that the virus was actually a good thing? If it weren't for PV Kaiya would have never known of Elysium or the happiness that came with the haven. She never would have met Faye or Irei, both of whom have become her dearest friends. But she also would have never met Hayate, and she was growing to adore him more each time she saw him.

But that was far from her mind as she sat in the quiet of the library with English books sprawled out in front of her. She was determined to learn how to speak the language that most of the people in the haven spoke. She wanted to make more friends, wanted to meet more people and learn more things. This was the turning over of a new leaf for the fae, and she wanted to make the most of it.

The ebony-haired praeternatural read the words in the children's book slowly. The Japanese-English dictionary was opened nearby so that she could look up words that she did not understand, or know how to pronounce. What was it that Faye had taught her? To 'sound out' each of the letters in the word. In many ways it was like hiragana - a phonetic sound for each letter of the alphabet. She could learn how to do that easily, right? Kaiya wished that she had someone nearby to help her, but she was alone today. Perhaps tomorrow Faye would join her. For now, the Japanese fae was determined to finish the book in front of her, The Cat in the Hat. Was it foolish of her to read a children's book? Hopefully not, especially since it seemed entertaining.

"Theeeee... Essss..." she was elongating the 's' sound while trying to combine it with the 'u' and 'n' that followed it. "Youuuu... Ennnn..." She rubbed her head. "Esss-Youuu-Ennn... Sooo-Ennn... Sooo-Ennn." Kaiya wrinkled her nose and sighed, pulling her dictionary close to her to look up the definition of the word. It wasn't until she had seen what it was in Japanese did she know what the word was in English.

"Sun!" She said excitedly, her face erupting in a smile. "Theee... Sunnnn...." She continued, wanting nothing more than to finish reading her book.

Who: Nico and Aveira
When: Evening
Where: Combat gym
What: Hot sweaty girls are sexy

When Nico set his mind to doing something it was hard to get him to think about anything else. He had begun a new training regiment for himself, one that would get him into the best shape of his life. It even included eating better, which was a strange shift for the sprite considering he was used to eating nothing but junk food. Elysium was the sort of haven that had hamburgers and hot dogs and heavily buttered popcorn - it was the sort of haven that tried to cater to all walks of life and all diets.

But Nico was steering clear from all of his favorite foods, and he was working out on a regular basis. It was hard at first, the running and the weight lifting left him sore for a day or two. But now that he was a few days into his routine it was getting easier. Structure was a good thing to have in one's life, especially for someone like Nico who didn't have much structure at all.

The sprite found himself at the combat gym this evening. He was throwing heavy punches upon the sand-filled bag, watching it sway lightly as he switched between jabs and hooks. He kicked it a couple of times, but that didn't do anything but frustrate him. Nico was a wrestler and a boxer, not a martial artist. Still, he kept with his left jabs, and hard rights before switching to the other side. It felt good to be active again - it made the sprite feel that he was actually accomplishing something other than just sitting around.

He gave the heavy bag one more strong punch before he walked away from it. He was breathing heavily, and he lifted the edge of his wife-beater tank top to wipe the sweat off his brow. He was walking toward the water fountain when he noticed something from the corner of his eye. A woman who was working out, and oh dear Lord was she hot! Nico couldn't help but stare for a moment as he walked. Unfortunately, he tripped over some free weights and went flying into a bench. He tried to recover though and made it seem as if he meant to fly toward the bench to take a seat. It all worked out for the best though as it gave him a better view of the girl he had been eyeing.
