End of May/June 2009 Kinks Round

Hi Everyone --

Thanks for all your contributions for this May/June round.  Any late posts can be posted between now and the start of July.  The masterlist will be compiled in the first week of July.

At this stage the next round is yet undated, but it will be towards the end of the year.  Suggestions for themes are always welcomed!  Please feel free to comment with them on this post, and I can set up a poll if we get a few options happening.

mod hat: dreamwidth 0tp mirror community

Hi Everyone,

As you may be aware, there has been somewhat of a shift towards Dreamwidth.  While No True Pair has not moved to Dreamwidth, Dreamwidth does now host a No True Pair mirror community.

For those members who haved moved to Dreamwidth and for those who are staying with IJ, please feel free post your fanfiction in either location, or even in both.   No True Pair will continue to be run in both locations as a mirrored community for as long as interest remains high, with both Dreamwidth and Insanejournal communities being moderated, tagged and managed, all rounds run simultaneously.

At the end of each four week round, the mods will put together a masterlist linking to all the fiction posted, regardless of IJ or DW location.

If anyone has any questions regarding the 0TP mirror community, please feel free to comment below.

I hope everyone has a good weekend, and I look forward to opening up this round on Monday.  :)

May/June 2009 Discussion Post

Alrighty everyone, I'm hearing some excitement happening, and so: discussion post time!

Come comment here with all the prompts that inspire your glee (or even the ones that inspire your WTF face) for community enthusiasm, encouragement or ideas! Remember, not every prompt has to be written for, so if there's only some that really get you going, let us know which ones. \o\ \o/ /o/

And I'll be restraining myself from doing the same for another six hours, at least, thanks to being at work, but have fun everyone. :)

No True Pair May/June Prompt List!

Thanks to [info]karanguni  , [info]laylah  , and eliade's list of kinks for assistance with compiling these prompts. Any questions, please feel free to comment here. As per last round, there will be another post for us all to get excited about some of the opportunities generated. I'm excited already. :D

The guidelines:
- pay no attention to pairing order in the prompts. If you get something more interesting by flipping the roles around, please feel free!
- liberal interpretations of the prompts are highly welcomed. :)
- the numbers in the prompt list have been stripped except for the character numbers themselves. You can copy and paste the list into your word processor, and then find/replace to put your characters' names in to the right spots.

.

And now, the prompts. )

No True Pair May/June Sign-ups!

Officially opening the May/June No True Pair Round Three.

Way to go me for forgetting it was April until it was nearly tooooo laaaaaate. *facepalm*

The prompt list will be posted on April 27, with four weeks before posting starts, and the theme of this round is KINKS!

Comment here with your numbered list of eight characters for the May/June round of No True Pair. As per previous rounds, your list can contain characters from different fandoms and you may use your original characters. Yes, you may make more than one list if you want to. Yes, every character in your list will have a prompt with every other one....And no, signing up does not obligate you to complete any fic/art.  \o/

Let's make this a brilliant round, everyone. ^.^

January 2009 Round Complete!

Hi everyone!  Hope February is treating you all well!

Just jumping in quickly wearing [info]laylah 's admin hat: all the tagging and navigation has been completed for the January round; also a quick reminder to post links to your fics in the masterlist post, if you haven't already.

Otherwise, thank you for all your contributions for January, it was excellent reading. Hopefully everyone enjoyed themselves, and most importantly: see you all again in April, when we'll be compiling the prompts for the magnificent May kinks round.

No True Pair - January 09 Master List

It's still a ways off from January in my time zone, but I know we have at least a few participants in east Asia, so I figured I should get this started a little early. ^_^

When you post your pieces to the asylum, please come and add a link to each one as a comment to this post. Don't reply to your previous comments if you're adding new works -- the idea is to make the list as easy to browse as possible. The list will be linked on the sidebar of this journal, so you can find it again easily even once posting is underway.

Your comment should contain:
Title: [linked to the entry]
Prompt you're answering:
(optional) Summary/Thumbnail image:

Have fun, and good luck with posting!

No True Pair January Sign-ups!

Well, the prompt list is still in progress, but who needs it to get started, right?

Comment here with your numbered list of eight characters for the January round of No True Pair. Yes, your list may contain characters from different fandoms. I will post the prompt list on November 25, so you'll have a little over a month before posting starts.

Revenge of No True Pair

I'm so sorry it's been this long!

But I promise I have not forgotten about this challenge. I love it to death and I was thrilled at the first round and I want there to be a second -- sign-ups will start by this weekend, and posting will happen in January.

I have a few questions for you before we get started:
(A) How strongly do people feel about having master lists of all the works created for the challenge? This is by far the most time-consuming and labor-intensive part of administering, and I'm never sure how useful it is to people. Are you guys attached to having a list? If so, are there any volunteers to help out with assembling it?

(B) Would anyone feel like it was cheating for me to re-use (possibly with slight alterations) a few of the prompts from last time? I've been trying to make sure that everything I had was flexible enough to fit a variety of fandoms and pairings, but that also means they wind up being pretty broad, so.

Not a question, just some thoughts on where I'm going: Since this coming round will be in January, I'm thinking about trying to put in some New Year-type themes among the options. This round will probably be mostly scenarios, stuff that works fairly well for pairing fic or for gen. The following round will be a Lusty Month of May round, and all the prompts will be kinks. >3

bear with me here, guys

Okay! I, ah, know I said in my last post that I hoped to be running a new round in August. It's...going to be August here in another 2 hours and 39 minutes, and I've already gotten the first request to start things up again, so clearly there's interest.

...But I think I really need a break first. I loved the first round! I definitely want to do it again! But I'm suffering hardcore challenge burnout and I know I'm not the only one. I'll get back to you guys in September, and we'll see how things stand.

In the meantime, people who'd like a dose of doing-something-different-with-favorite-characters are welcome to come play at [info]roads_diverged, which is an ongoing pan-fandom AU themes challenge that's already produced some very cool work and would love to have some new blood.

Thank you for your patience! I'll see you soon. ^^

Even more free for all?

A few people have asked me about this, and I can't see a good reason to say no, so --

If you have extra bits for your [info]no_true_pair pieces that you'd still like to share with the asylum, you can still post them here -- I won't be able to get another round running for a while, and there's no reason to let the asylum just lie dormant until then, right?

I'm starting to work out a plan for the next round, which will involve shorter character lists (so that you have better odds of getting all possible pairings prompted!), most likely multiple prompt lists, and definitely all-new prompts. I'm hoping for sign-ups in August and posting in October. ^^

Thanks again for a great first round!

No True Pair - Master List for Round One

And that's it, guys -- posting is done!

213 works of art and fiction (including four that were too long to fit in single posts!)
in 103 fandoms and crossovers
...including 54 new pieces posted in free-for-all week, omg. (they're marked in the list with asterisks.)

Most prolific contributors:
35 - [info]shiegra
26 - [info]hyel (half art, half fic)
18 - [info]elanor_pam
17 - [info]ciceqi (including two of the double-post epics!)
16 - [info]cephy (I am so sorry for leaving you out this morning!)
12 - [info]chibirisuchan

goddamn, guys! you are all fabulous. When I have more time, I'll be going through the complete list of posts to try to pull together some stats on what prompts got used most often, and see if I can use that feedback to help make an even better set next time. I'd be interested to hear your input on that, too -- what kind of prompts feel the most inspiring to you? (People who didn't wind up posting, or didn't post much, I'd like your input here, also: what would have made you more likely to post? did your character list wind up not clicking? were the prompts too weird? did life just get in the way, as it tends to do?)

Thank you all so much for coming along with me on this challenge -- it's been more successful than I ever imagined, and a hell of a lot of fun. ♥

[admin] week two, wrapping up!

Just a few hours left in week 2, and you guys all rock hardcore!

Just as a reminder -- the prompts for week 3 are:

* 8 and 6: "Don't make me come over there."
* 10/7, sex under the influence
* 2 and 11 have something to celebrate.
* 9 and 8: love is blindness / I don't want to see / won't you wrap the night around me
* 2 and 7 with the title, "Holding the High Ground."
* 6/1, dominance/submission
* 3 and 4, hurt/comfort of any sort
* 5 and 9 with the title, "Behind the Mask."

If it's already Sunday in your time zone, feel free to start posting for these. The rest of us will catch up. :3

[admin] Week 1 Master List

Okay, it is now week 2 everywhere in the world -- so here's the master list of pieces posted in week 1.

This is awesome, guys. We have almost sixty entries on this list! In a week! I am thrilled. ♥

The majority of these are crossovers; crossovers are listed first, by fandoms, in alphabetical order. (This seemed like the easiest way to be consistent about listing pairs of fandoms and also pairs of characters, in tags -- it's all alphabetical, no matter what order things were written in the post.)

If you don't see something that you posted on the list, or if there's an error in the listing somewhere, please let me know!

Week 1 )

Keep up the good work, guys! ♥

[admin] One week down -- three to go!

You guys, this is awesome! I am really impressed at how much everyone has produced already. ^_^

Starting tomorrow (today? Is it already Sunday in Singapore?), we'll move on to the second week's prompts:

* 11 and 12 play a game or sport together.
* 1/9, in a threesome with any other character from your list
* 5 and 2 with the title, "Hit the Ground Running."
* 10 and 8: "Things will get better. I promise."
* 3 needs help that only 6 can provide.
* 8 and 4: it's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine
* 5 and 10 with the title, "The Edge of the Map."
* 3/7, weapon kink

Once it's Sunday here on the US west coast, I'll post a master list of everything people have posted this week.

If you have stuff in-progress or that you didn't get to work on for this week's prompts, don't worry! You can still post them on the free days at the end of the month.

Good luck!

[admin] Posting starts tomorrow!

...and I am so excited!

Beginning tomorrow, June 1, and running through the following Saturday, June 7, you may post pieces that answer any of the first eight prompts:

* 6 and 11 with the title, "Lost and Found."
* 10/4, first time
* 1 and 3: "Go on, make yourself comfortable."
* The beginning of 8 and 12's passionate love affair.
* 12/5, captivity scenario (kidnapping, prison guard/inmate, etc)
* 10 and 1: the memory cannot keep me warm / but it never leaves me cold
* 2 shares something meaningful (a meal? a secret? ...bodily fluids?) with 4
* 7 and 9 with the title, "Nothing Like the Sun."

When posting, please place the body of your work behind a cut tag, put the title and fandom(s) in your subject line, and use the following headers:

Title:
Author/Artist:
Fandom:
Pairing/characters:
Rating:
Warnings: [if necessary; please warn for character death, rape/non-con, and shota/chan/loli-con at a minimum -- otherwise use your discretion]
Prompt/challenge you're answering:
Any additional headers you want to include, such as summaries, author's notes, etc.

I will add tags as quickly as I can get to them; each piece will have a tag for this round, for the author/artist, for the fandom (or the crossover), and for the pairing. If any of the tags you need are already in the list when you post, feel free to add them yourself when you post. ^_^

One week to go!

Posting starts on June 1, one week from today!

Are you guys excited? I know I am. (...also way behind on the number of things I've actually written vs the number of things I want to, but that's par for the course, isn't it?)

People who have pieces in-progress, or complete works they've been sitting on while they wait for June -- here's your chance to show off some teasers! Comment here with favorite sentences from fic-in-progress, or sketches or image details, so the rest of us can get excited to see what you've come up with. ^_^

Good luck with your pieces!
