Title: Collecting on a Debt

Pairing/characters: Marguerite Orgella/Ringo Takeuchi

Prompt/challenge you're answering: Marguerite is bailed out by Ringo- though in return Marguerite must pay back the debt.
Author's note: This plays off the end of "Incident 06: The Guest" where Ringo makes a distraction for Marguerite so she can sneak a visiting alien off the ship.
"Say, Marguerite-" Ringo waved the ship's second-in-command over with a sharp jerk of a gloved finger. Marguerite had a feeling this wasn't going to be a conversation she would enjoy having. That lazy wander looked far too smug for her tastes. Reluctantly, she closed the gap between them to keep this private. She doubted that Ringo had any qualms about discussing her debt to him in front of the entire ship, so any steps necessary to keep this secret were up to her to take. As for the debt being the subject of this discussion, Marguerite was absolutely certain that that glint in his eye meant he had thought of a way she could repay him. ...He hadn't wasted much time in choosing it. Guest had only been gone from the ship for three days.
"Don't beat around the bush, Ringo. What do you want?"
That fire rose in her eyes as she waited for his answer, placing her hands on her hips. Without this debt between them, she would probably have presented too great a challenge for him, but with the debt as leverage he could see a little of that spark and discipline for himself. When you played with fire you risked getting burned. The thing was, Ringo sort of like getting burned. "You," he trilled sweetly.
She scowled. How had she known it would be something like this? Men of this type were so ridiculously predictable. "When?"
"Now."
Ugh, how predictably needy. "Where?" she heaved an irritated sigh. Sure, she would honor her commitment, but that didn't mean she had to act like she was happy to do it.
"Where's good for you?"
"Whatever closer we're keeping you in will be just fine," she relented, allowing him to lead her down the hall and off a branching path to the quarters being loaned to him. Ringo was lucky the ship had a pair of rooms set aside for visitors, otherwise he really might've ended up living out of a closet. He probably would've deserved it, Marguerite reflected sullenly.
"After you," he held open the door for her. She was surprised slightly by the good condition of the quarters. From the size of the ship they had found him in, she was unsurprised that he had few belongings to strew about the place, but that hadn't ruled out the possibility he would mess up the pre-existing furnishings. "Seeing a clean place cool you down, Marguerite?"
"Oh, stop it," she snapped, "I wish you'd asked for something else, Ringo, but a deal's a deal. Let's get this over with."
