Probably for the first time in her adult life, Rogue sat back and let everyone else do the talking first. The information this girl had brought them was one hell of a punch to take and everyone was going to be reacting in different ways. Green eyes went to Scott when he was the first to speak, not all together surprised he was the first but a little taken aback by his eagerness to just jump into battle. Tabby she didn't hardly know so her opinion had no effect. Then came Kitty with more common sense than Rogue would have expected from her, and Logan backing her up. Still, instead of speaking, she reached one gloved hand across the table to grab the paper and scan the article on the cure.
In all honesty it sounded like an answer to her prayers just by what was presented there in black and white. A daily choice on whether or not to have your powers? What mutant who longed for freedom wouldn't go for it? Hell, she would have been the first to sign up if the girl hadn't mentioned genocide. "I think ya'll are missin' the more immediate picture," she said after a minute, tossing the paper back onto the table. "It's this cure that we gotta stop before anythin' else. Soon as this gets marketed you're gonna have mutants sellin' their grandma to find a way to get this new cure. That's what we need to worry about before anythin' else."
Yeah, people wouldn't like her opinion but she was getting used to that. She didn't even really care anymore. She agreed wholeheartedly with both Kitty and Logan. This wasn't a small organization they could just take out in one fell swoop. These people had annexed themselves across the entire nation and there was no way to know how deep their roots went. This was going to take careful planning. As much as people were talking about a possible attack, Rogue couldn't get her thoughts off of this medical company and what they would be offering. A buffet line of powers, purred a dark voice in the back of her mind.
"I wanna volunteer myself to check out the new cure." She spoke before she could even think about it. Anyone really watching her would have seen the surprise in her eyes, though she recovered quickly and lifted her chin to own her words. "I know what these people are goin' through an' if need be, I can do what I have to just to make sure no one gets needlessly hurt."
