The moment Rogue walked in, Laura looked away from Kitty and the computers to look to her. She could smell Logan on her and an odd territorial feeling crept up in her, a growl building low in her throat. Thankfully someone called her out on her language so the growl came out at a more appropriate target. Ororo didn't seem to be too bothered by her language, so why did he care? Still, she decided it was too close quarters and anxiety levels were already high enough without her smart mouth adding to it and starting something. Though she desperately wanted to. Whoever angel-boy thought he was, he must have thought himself pretty high and mighty. Oh the chance to prove him wrong.
When Logan came in with a smirk in her directing she gave a slight nod in reply. Her eyes followed him as he walked past her, greeting Kitty by touch and a smile. Seemed besides the redhead he'd come in with, Kitty, blondie, and Scott were the only ones he really cared at all about in any way. Interesting.
When Ororo began speaking, Laura crossed her arms and went back to hovering over Kitty's shoulders, looking at the computer screens. Did she feel abandoned by Nathaniel? Hell yes, she did. She wasn't stupid enough to believe there had been any emotional ties between them, but he saved her ass a few times and she'd seem him at his weakest. They'd spent a lot of time together. When she left before it was with a certain amount of regret that she'd lose touch with Nathaniel. Their relationship had been the definition of unhealthy, but it was all she knew. To find out he disappeared without her hurt her just enough to piss her off. When she felt Ororo's eyes on her, Laura hardened her expression.
"There was a night a few months ago...some shit went down with me and he somehow felt it. He said it was like people invaded his mind. He didn't even know for sure I'd hear him when he reached out to me. And the night of the illusions..." She looked down, remembering. It had been terrifying and chaotic. And he hadn't had a clue. "He was afraid of what he'd done. It wasn't something he knew he could do, or if he ever knew it he'd blocked it from his memory. You can't fake the smell of fear." She looked up again, glancing at Logan because he'd know exactly what she meant. "My guess is this disappearing is another spike in this power he's getting or rediscovering. And I'd also be pretty surprised if your telepath can find them."
Now it was her turn to report her findings. She pointed to one of the images Kitty pulled up and turned to see it projected in the middle of the conference table. It was the old store she'd found the anti-mutant group in, the one Warren now owned and was gutting. "This used to be a general store. The front half of it was dusty and abandoned. Anyone who looked at it never thought about it again. Unless you had exclusive information or were purposely tracking, you'd never know there was a busy bull=pen of anti-mutant terrorists behind it." She wanted to set the record straight, tell them all she didn't start the fire but figured the fact that she'd barred the doors to prevent anyone leaving after the fire started would overshadow that a bit.
