She was hoping Emma and Jean-Paul would be joining them as well, but a glance at her watch said they'd all been waiting long enough. If Emma wasn't there, Ororo was going to assume it was because she had nothing to share. She'd have to find out for certain later, but for now there was only so much light she could shed on the subject. "I think everyone is here who's going to be here." She was careful to hide any hint of disappointment or irritation. No doubt her lack of information on the missing students would have some people judging her once more.
"By now most of you are aware that Nathaniel Essex, a doctor who arrived with Laura the night of the attack and has been a mansion resident since, disappeared sometime during the night last week. Along with him have gone four students. I was not aware until just two hours ago that Doctor Essex, a regular human being with no apparent mutation ever before in his life, successfully created and maintained several illusionary images all played together to form a very convincing reality distortion while Laura was in his company. He was neither aware of what he was doing, nor could he stop the illusions until Laura effectively brought him to his senses. Before Hank left he was treating Nathaniel for severe headaches, intense sensitivity to sound, light, and even smell. Hank determined them to be simple migraines and treated Nathaniel as best as he could."
She looked at Laura, catching that quick look of abandonment she'd worn before when she didn't think anyone was watching. "Laura spent the most time with Nathaniel and told me there was also a time he was able to reach out to her through telepathy." Her blue eyes went to the faces of those surrounding the table. "With their quick arrival and the subsequent attack on the mansion that very same night, Nathaniel's aid with the wounded and his quick willingness to help kept him under our radar. With so much else to worry about at the time, he managed to get by without any question or suspicion." She'd been kicking herself over it since she found out they were gone. She should have had Emma do a read on him, something. But it had slipped to the bottom of her ever growing to-do list. And because of it, five people were now missing.
"I have asked Emma to try and locate Doctor Essex using Cerebro, as well as try and search for locations on the missing students. And unfortunately that is all I have for you on that subject at the moment. Laura, however, has brought us a wealth of information on the organization behind the attack on the mansion and several other smaller attacks throughout the country." Ororo looked to the younger girl and gave her a slight nod, indicating it was her turn to go and that she should take the opportunity quickly before questions began breaking out.
