Paige swallowed. Kitty had asked Warren to marry her? But... hadn't Kitty known about how Paige felt about him? Though, there was always the question about how Warren felt about Kitty, and if the two liked each other, well, Paige was just out of the running. There was no way in hell that Paige could measure up to Katherine Pride. Even hearing that Warren "turned her down" had Paige's heart in her throat. It was just how she was when it came to jealousy issues. But she had to remind herself that Kitty was her best friend and that Warren, well, Warren was completely clueless as to how she felt about him.
Taking the file, Paige glanced at Kitty and Warren again before she opened it and looked it over. Icing on the cake, it seemed. Warren bought Kitty a building it looked like. "So," she started, clearing her throat, "when's tha weddin' an' am Ah supposed ta be wearin' one of those ugly dresses?" She winced slightly, her accent coming out too damn thick for her liking. As she looked over the file though, she found she was looking at a steep rent on top of everything. That was a lot of money, especially for some kind of gift. "Helping ya with yer own studio huh? Well that's nice of him," she replied, trying like hell to get a handle on her accent again. "Think ya can get it all togethah with this kind of bill hangin' over it?" As much as she wanted to be happy for Kitty, this bill was definitely steep. And she loved Kitty to death, she didn't think she should be having to pay that much on it, especially if, from what she was gleaning from the conversation, it wasn't coming with anything in it.
However her attention was diverted for a moment when Warren spoke to Paige. A dancer? Her? Not even close. Blushing, Paige cleared her throat and shook her head. "No... no no no, Kitty's the graceful one out of this duo. I just sit and draw." She'd spoken without the accent this time, forcing herself to. She shot him a tight smile, then started looking over the file again. There was a lot to read over, and Paige might be a computer genius like Kitty, but she wasn't sure about the whole real estate business. That was all Warren.
Glancing up at Kitty, she tucked her hair behind her ear and brushed something off her top and jeans. "So, um... I guess you'll need some help, huh? Just say the word and I'll come running. I figure if nothing else I can at least keep you from losing your top, and possibly your shirt."
