June nodded feeling important with a secret mission. It shouldn't be too hard to get permission to come out again after dinner. She could always say she forgot something. It wouldn't be a total lie, right? "I'll be back here at six," she promised. Dinner on the weekends was always a little earlier than usual because a lot of people had plans.
She got up and smiled at Xavier with encouragement. "Everything will be okay. I know it will." She thanked him for sharing his food with her before going back around the fence to get her bike. As she pedaled away, June couldn't stop grinning. She was imagining how happy everyone would be to see Xavier. And June would be the one to bring him home.
