Kitty nodded in understanding, knowing coming home was not going to be an easy transition for Scott. A lot of things had changed and Ororo running the school was only one of them. All the kids he used to teach were grown and most of them gone on to careers and families. It was only she who remained, and Bobby if he ever came back. Logan and Rogue were still around but they weren't at the mansion anymore. He'd missed so much that she wanted to fill him in on, but Kitty knew he'd get caught up slowly. It was going to take some time.
There were things she needed to talk to Ororo about as well, but they could wait. They needed to wait. Kitty was more than capable of making a few phone calls to a few contacts to see if Magneto had popped up on anyone's radar. She'd do that, as well as find a room for Scott, while he spoke with Ro. "Come with me, then." Ororo's reaction would probably be much the same as hers. For that reason, Kitty would stay just a moment before excusing herself.
"I can't blame you," she conceded, walking down the hall beside Scott. "After you talk with Ro, get settled in your room, it might be prudent to join us all for dinner. I'm sure it's not the most appealing of ideas, but that way everyone here will know at once and you can get it over with."
At the closed office door, Ororo's smooth voice could be heard from within. From the sounds of it she was on the phone. Kitty knocked lightly before opening the door a crack and sticking her head in, purposely obscuring Scott from her view. "Someone to see you," she whispered, feeling oddly like a secretary. Ororo held up her finger and Kitty nodded.
"I would appreciate that," she was saying, a small frown on her lips. "Thank you very much. We'll talk soon. Bye." Hanging up the phone, Ororo took a deep breath in and let it out slowly. Her eyes lifted to Kitty once more, her frown turning into a tired smile. ""Come on in, Kitty."
Kitty nodded and pushed the door open wider. "Your tone says that wasn't a great phone call. Hopefully your visitor will be able to cheer you up some."
