The Nightmare Before Christmas

Well. I blame the dog, who was trained by my parents, to expect her breakfast at five AM, even on the weekend. hopefully I'll be able to get back to sleep soon. In the mean time, a few things:

--thank you, all of you, who sent me well wishes and/or kept me company on the various messengers the last couple of days. I'm feeling exponentially better than I did yesterday this time (and TLE's even asleep this morning! ~facepalm~). It's probably a good thing today's Sunday, not Monday, 'cause i can tell an extra day to recover is not amiss, but i kept down dinner and my fever broke so *yay* for feeling better. Also, thank you to everyone who gave me hydration options. There was pedialyte in the house, but it was reserved for TLE, who was also still sick. VitaminWater and tea were my choices, and they seem to have worked just fine. thank you again!!

--I know bunches of you are empires fans. I also know bunches of you have Dili friended, so...go fill out her poll? (sorry, guys, it *is* flocked...the goal, though is to get at least 100 fans to send greetings to empires. If you want to send along a hello or something else, and you don't have dili friended, give me the message and I'll make sure it gets to her, okay? :D)

--This might be my first nano loss in the five years I've done it. :( as of right now, i'm still at 6500 words. In theory, i could pull this off, by writing 3000 words a day. Even while wrangling TLE, i can usually churn out 1000 words in 30 minutes. The problem has become this year that I don't have *time*. D: Work kicks my ass, then I have munchkin. I don't get him to bed until 8, and by then, i'm beat. and twice a week I have class. I was counting on my weekends to boost my word count, but last weekend, my parents fucked that up, and this week, i've been sick. I'm not giving up, but it might turn out that I don't make it this year. Yes, that makes me sad, but one time out of five years? that's pretty good. :P

--that said, I've posted what I've got so far over in this entry. It's flocked to the NaNo filter, so if you want to read and can't see the post, let me know, and I'll get you on the filter. :)

--Work. work has been...~headdesk~ some of the language these people *have* to use makes me cry. Seriously, to any and all accountants...HOW IS IT ACCEPTABLE TO MANGLE THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE TO SAY WHAT YOU WANT?! Also, Dear Thin: you can't take out commas, just because it's "prettier" and "less cluttered". If you want these documents grammatically correct, you have to let me put the commas in. I'm sorry. That's the way it works. Head hurtingly, me. (i have some more open letters to work that i may put in a seperate post, but that's pretty accurate of how i feel right now)

I think that's the general idea of what's been going on. My life is boring. :P How about you guys? I've been skimming my flist at best. I've managed to catch the big fics posted (lyo's cowboy!au, the main post for the pride & prejudice AU is open, though i refuse to read until it's finished, given y'all's reactions, and a few shorter fics), but i know i've missed stuff. the Ashlee!fic is open, though as yet unread. Gimme links? Fair warning, I still may not read. I've found myself getting burnt out on panic fic lately, and there's a dearth of other stuff. :(

Oh! My camera went to the Miami RBL date without me (major thanks and love to dreamyraynbo and clover_darling for that), so I'll have some pics to post, once i'm back at my own home. There are some particularly fantastic ones of Spencer that I think y'all will love. :)

and now to see if I can get back to sleep....

I need help, and as usual, i turn to you, my beloved flist. I am in need of more classical music. Somehow, all of the must i had has...vanished, and I would very much like it back. Or at least classical music in general.

i found a torrent this morning that will give me Beethoven's 9 symphonies (provided I can leave it on long enough to download without my WoW-playing brother getting pissy that it's slowing down his game), but I need *more*. Moooooore. I love it all. Everything from Bach to Mozart to Gorecki (who i'm listening to right now, actually)...baroque to romantic to more modern versions.

Help? :D
