Luke sat in a posh restraunt as he waited for Parisa. He'd arranged for the lunch, and she'd agreed, which was a step in the right direction. They hadn't actually spoken in a while. That wasn't exactly a problem, though. Parisa was an In Demand kind of girl. Still, the news of her opening her own Label was kind of perfect timing. He wasn't presumptuous to think they'd be close enough that she'd just give him a contract. He'd no doubt had to earn it, but he could at least see what kind of chances he had. He leaned back in his chair, staring up at the ceiling, his glasses on the tip of his nose. He felt his pocket vibrating and he pulled out his phone to check his message. Parisa was a little later. Possibly more than a little late, but it totally wasn't her fault. She'd tried to get out on time, but the people just wouldn't let her go. It was part of the problem with her job. Everything had gone wrong that day, from the lighting to the make-up to the costume mal-functions. Lucky for her, there was no nipple slip to end up on Toby's post for the day. She'd probably have to stab the boy in the neck if that happened. Regardless, she was here now. She looked a little less than perfect. Her hair was in all sorts of disarray due to the wonderful weather and a lack of a scarf, though she did manage to tame it just enough before leaving the car. It didn't seem to have bothered her as she basically sauntered on in like she owned the place. It was probably because she could own the place. That aside, she questioned the concierge before being led to her seat. "Hello, Luke." She said warmly. "It's been quite a while hasn't it?" She leaned over to give him a kiss on either cheek before seating herself in the seat the man was holding out for her. "Thank you." "Hey there," he replied, kissing her cheeks in return, and tried not to look annoyed. Her life was a demanding one. Things like this? Were par for course, he knew that. "It has," he replied. "Long day?" You could always count on Luke to be polite when it came to business. He might be loud and occasionally obnoxious, but he usually reserved that during play time. "Ridiculously long day." She said sweeping her hair back with a bit of annoyance, but she was trying to calm herself. Would have enjoyed meeting Luke in a less stuffy setting, but she wasn't going to complain. Instead, she just ordered a light drink to start off with, while placing a napkin in her lap. Bringing the cool glass of water to her lips. "So tell me what you've been up to?" She'd talk about herself, if she wasn't all over the place already. It was something she hardly ever did. Luke smiled. "School," he replied. "Lots of school, which should be time consuming, but I find it rather dull." He wore a playful grin. "I keep seeing you all over the place, you're quite the busy bee." He took a sip of his water. "Heard about your new business ventured, and I wanted to see if I could be a part of it." Luke figured he'd cut to the chase. Besides, if they got business out of the way, they could actually do the normal everyday hang out thing for the rest of the night, which he was sure that Parisa would much rather enjoy after a long day at work. "Ah, yes. The unnamed record label." She said musingly. As awesome as her dinner with Eli and Vicky had been, they'd gotten absolutely nowhere with names. She was thinking about just putting a bunch of different names up on a cork board and throwing darts on them. That was a good way as any to choose. "Did you want to be my secretary? I mean, you've got nice legs, but they're not going to work in the pencil skirt." She was teasing, naturally. "Toby's so full of shit." She said clearly, as her drink was set down beside her. She downed it in one go then tapped the napkin. "Another, please." It wasn't the kind of drink you were supposed to drink like that, but Parisa didn't quite give a fuck. "These are great here. Have you had one?" "What about Hellenic Records?" He smirked. "Or Spartan?" Luke was sort of a Greek Mythology Geek. With someone named Parisa and all, it was the first thing he thought of. "Or you could always go with 'Parisa.'" He shrugged. "I do have awesome legs, don't I?" He shook his head. "I was thinking of more on the client end, but I could do double duty if you want." "Don't worry, I'll think of something soon." She said trying to route Luke before he broke out into the history of the whatever of whatever. He really did get riled up about such things, though no one would really ever know it from looking at him. She knew him better than that, though. She'd been quite close to the family. "No, I don't need a secretary, but if you're looking for a deal, I'm gonna need a demo. That and I have to see you perform." There was nothing like watching an artist live. They really didn't even have to sing well. It didn't make sense to a lot of people, but there were those who were born to sing, and those who were born to perform. If you were lucky, you were born for both. Unfortunately, Parisa was only good with the latter. |
